I still can't believe I found it at WAL*MART, Ed says now that I have opened up to at least trying more things on - not just saying "no way that will work" I'll have my arsonal full of suits again in no time.
Gosh I wish you all could be here and spend a day at the beach, your right Linda it is so relaxing, there was a little boy we were watching - he was maybe 3, his little suit kept sliding down and his hinny crack would show and he would try and hitch them up again, then he would run back to the water and down they would go, it was just to cute. I think our water temp is about 85 now - just perfect..
-
Cathi,
The water temp at the beach I go to on Cape Cod ws 61 degrees last weekend. COLD!!! My kids love it though! It will warm up to mid 70's by summers end. I'll take 85 any day!!
-
Oh I recall those cold water temps -yuck, it's funny when we have company from up north in late fall , winter and early spring, they are all in the water, it is 70ish (freezing for me) but they are all loving it. Usually by first of October I am done, we have normally had enough storms that have cooled it down to far for me. And Ed says he ann the boys (LOL) can't do the cold stuff anymore either. Then we still go over but its for sunsets mostly.
-
Gotta protect the boys!! I bet the sunsets are beautiful!
-
Cathi,
I just googled Indian Rocks beach. You must live in heaven!! I love it! Water on both sides! On the west coast of Florida, which is my favorite. All that and Ed, too? You are a lucky gal!
-
Cathi-
I just want you to know that you look great!
-
Thank you very much Baywatcher, I expect your enjoying some good weather in the Keys, stay safe this hurricane season.
Yes Linda I really am on a very narrow island, one of our draw bridges to get over to this side from the mainland was just taken down it was a small little narrow thing, and they have just finished a new one (no draw) so it is much higher, the view now coming across is breath taking, because you can really see how narrow of an island it is. Indian Rocks Beach is one of the very few remaing mostly residentila beach communities, the beaches north and south of us (espically Clearwater) are all condos and so commercial for the tourists. Indian Rocks beach has some very grand and elegant new lavish homes, but lots of old time beach cottages that are so full of character. I truly love it here so much.
-
All this talk of the beach and Florida is making me jealous!!!
I want to move!!!!! I would love to live in Key West!!! Baywatcher - did you have to go to Miami for your surgery?
-
Ladies - check out the hugahan thread - UB got one this week and I posted a picture.
-
Livesstrong-
I am orignially from Ohio and had my surgery done in Ohio.
I saw your picture in Capt. Tony's bar. Do you get to KW often? When you come back down let me know and we can meet up if you want to.
-
Cathi! You look WONDERFUL! Your belly makes me jealous...I haven't had one like that since I was 19....how did you get away without stretch marks???? LOVE, love, love the suit! I TOLD you so!!! Ed looks really enthused to have his pic taken...hheheheehe, he knows you're going to post it for all to see. hehehehehhe
I can't stand the sun or heat anymore, that's why I knew Punta Cana was going to be hard. My body pretty well shuts down. I'm very fortunate that Paul and I used to travel so much as there is no way I could do it now! We used to scuba dive too! I don't think I could even lift a tank now....
I love the ocean though, as I am from Vancouver, BC.
-
Cathi, My parents used to take me to Clearwater when I was a child. I thought that was beautiful. I can only imagine what it is like where you live! Enjoy!
I want to go to Captain Tonys, too!
-
Linda Indian Rocks is about 10 minutes from Clearwater, in the years I have been here it has changed so much, beautiful yes, but mostly all condos and hotels, at season time you can't get in or out.
Barbe I was very fortunate with strech marks, believe it or not the worst ones were on my boobs, small A to a large C both times, but I drank tons and tons of water and lots of coco-butter when pregnant, I gained 48 poulds with Jaclyn, Amanda I had pregency issues so only gained 16 and lost 8 of that the month before she was born.
Right after rads and the first year or so after I could not do a drop of sun, and I have always been a sun lover, so far this year seems to be good.
Your right Ed knows I post the pics (he doesn't mind), but I take 100's of pictures now no matter what we do, have to have those memories, so it proably gets old. Thanks for the tummy compliment, but trust me its not all that flat in the upright position..
-
Ah, I see, "Selective Picture Posting"!
You still look great!
-
I had to tell my dentist and they did not ask unnecessary questions, I found. They went calmly on to the next question. I was a bit surprised!
-
Meg, my eye doc said that (heaven forbid) breast cancer treatments can affect the eyes and it is important to get the yearly exams. Although I haven't had an exam since Jan 08. Just can't seem to get the time to go. I will try to go while I am off the week after July 4th.
Sheila
-
sometimes I wish I spoke another language, I suppose it might come in very handy at times. Good luck Meg, just remember that is so important to take care of the rest of ourselves (eyes included)
-
Not much that can improve a day better than chocolate and lipstick
-
Meg good luck with your appointments, I too am very over due for an eye exam.
Oh Barbe for sure there is selective picture posting, he took a shot of my butt last week, OMG - that went into DELETE LAND never to be seen by anyone - LOL. It's all in the pose my friend.
-
Hi everyone! I only have a couple of minutes, so I'll touch on a few things that stood out as I skimmed the weekend's posts.
Nancy, your daughter is gorgeous! What beautiful eyes she has! You must be so proud!
Nettie! Good to hear from you! I'll be praying that you'll have clear margins. We'll all be with you in spirit on the 18th!!
Cathi, that suit is toooo cute! Walmart??? I'm amazed!
Sue, I'll pray that you're negative for both the BRCA genes! Love you, Sue!
So good to hear from you, Debbie! We love you!
I'm so sorry to hear about your roommate's health issues, Mel. That must be so hard on you. Hang in there, honey! Love you, Mel!
AE and UB, I'm so jealous! I've never been to England and would love to go someday. I haven't been to Europe since I was 13. I really didn't appreciate it much at that age. Hope UB feels better very soon!
To everyone else that I haven't mentioned, I love you all!
Love and hugs,
Karen

Hello all,
I've been keeping myself updated with the posts, tho not writing myself for the past few weeks. AC is a little devil, indeed!
Nancy, yes, your daughter IS a beauty! My son would just LOVE to meet her, lol.
Cathi, you are one sexy grandma, nana, what do your grandbabies call you? Mine call me Nana. Ed is one lucky man ... and you are a lucky woman to be with him, too.
So many of us are going through trying times now. I don't remember each individually - lots of reading done - but know that as I read, a prayer was said for each and every person for positive test results, speedy recoveries, comfort to those in pain, and joy to all for their days.
I just had my second AC today. The first one, after the steroid high was done, I slept for 20 hours in one day. This made me so crabby I didn't even like myself. My poor son! (He seems to be doing a lot better - thank you to those who asked about him - his memory is not as bad and he doesn't seem to have as much problem with the word searching.) He went to his uncle's a few days to 'escape' mom's moods.
I had more nausea with this than the taxol. the past week - spent most of it in bed, I have been nausated each day, took my compazine but didn't seem to help much at all. Then, last wednesday, my hand had a spasm and my little finger went in front of my ring finger and was stuck there! then I started to have leg cramps - NO FUN! This came and went for a couple of days. I got another staph/mrsa infection, so now, since chemo started I have had seven of them, so my onc doc has me getting another infusion each month, the first one will be next monday, of stuff called immunoglobulin and will take about four hours to do it. From what I understand the body makes it naturally but to help my immune system be stronger he is giving me some so I can fight these things off. I sure hope it helps.
Oh, yeah, about the eye exam. I need glasses really bad, too. My onc said for me to wait until my chemo was done as the chemo affects vision. I noticed with this last type, my vision does cloud up - so to be safe and not have to get new glasses once chemo is done with, I am waiting.
This is soooo neat! I just got a really nice surprise. I signed up for the chemo angels and while I was typing this, someone knocked on the door. My angel sent me a bouquet of flowers in a vase. AWWW i said, so pretty. I have them sitting on my desk. I wish I had a camera to take a pic to show you.
Love and hugs to all,
Cheryl
-
Cheryl, what a nice surprise! Enjoy the flowers. Take it easy and I hope you are feeling better.
-
Cheryl wising you better days ahead, enjoy those flowers. The grandchildren call me ME-MA, how or why I don't know, but I like it, and there paternal gG'mas are grandma, Ed is PA-PA to them all. It is kind of funny but Jaclyn even calls Ed PA-PA now, I think it is because she lacks and misses having a good dad in her life.
OH it is a scorcher here today and I have so much work to do, our PR department went to a big immigration confrence in Las Vegas this past week, I have sooooooooooooooo much to do, NO BEACH FOR ME for a few days.
-
My one granddaughter calls me Nanny! Heyyy Nanny, she'll say, I love it! She is our Miracle baby. born when my daughter was only 25 weeks pregnant. only 1lb 10 oz at birth. She's a healthy 9 year old now.
-

Wow what a chatty bunch over the weekend!!! I dont have time to read back but will later this evening.
I had my mammo this morning...got the all clear so excited about that.
At the same time I was having my boobies squished David was getting the pick line removed...Friday was his last IV antibiotics...they have changed him to two pill forms and a topical ointment...what a drastic difference his hand has made from 2 wks ago...we can almost see it healing daily....thankfully the docs all think his as passed a good point but are still cautious but very positive that things will heal now without further issue.
So all in all a GREAT DAY!!!!
Will visit with more once I have read what you ladies are up to...
Hugs
Jule
