Boy, I hope so. It has been a horrid winter. It's the winter that never ends. We actually just entered spring yesterday, but the temps are still in the 30's. I hear there is hope for next week!!
-
Jane, it's not unpicking the sewing. It's either the frog stitch "ribbit, ribbit" or reverse sewing!
-
Bingbing, Sorry to get back to you so late, I used the valtoren gel the other night and it worked really well. I use it four times a day only on the days I hurt. It has helped. You cannot take any anti-inflammatories with it. I guess it would be a double dose. The left arm was swollen the first time I used it and within a few minutes it went away. I hope it can work for you.

Happy Sunday all, boy I sure missed alot of posts in just one day.
Nancy saying prayers for your dad. Ntes and Nana your beautiful woman with or without hair.
I have had a great but exhaustinng weekend, Alexcis was here, so we had a 5yr old, a puppy and a cat (who is still a bit uneasy with everything). Boy have I had a work out. Jaclyn wanted to spend a quiet weekend home, so we took Alexcis and Brandt went to Paternal Grandmom" ( I am the cool fun one though -LOL). Margo would be honored to be Toto, if she ever wakes from her nap I will tell her, she is resting from a 5Yr old as well.
So this big macho man I am married to who said well maybe a small dog isn't the right kind (he was thinking hound or something) went out to the store Saturday afternoon, and comes back with 2 new pink sweaters and another toy - too funny. She loves wearing cloths though - I get to play dress up again.
Have a busy week ahead, Jaclyns mamo and then the other procedure, Ed's B'day is Tuesday, but celebrating Saturday so his brother can come down (he's a bit over an hour away) and a few friends for barbacue and drinks. So I have alot of cleaning and cooking to do.
Love to all, XOXOXOXOXOXO -Cathi

Hi everyone! Just a quick pop-in. I had so much fun the other night with my friends. Unfortunately, Chase has been sick, so my mom didn't want me to stay out long. I had a couple glasses of wine, and ended up getting chewed out not only by her, but by Portia! Sheesh!!! A girl can't even go out with friends and have fun!
Chase still has his infected lymph node. The antibiotics had better kick in soon, or I'll have to take him in for a shot in his tushy. I don't think he'd like that much! He was having such a hard time breathing last night. I had him in bed with me and stayed awake pretty much all night, listening to him and trying to make him more comfortable.
Nancy, I'm praying for your dad. My grandma had that same condition and I know it can be miserable. Hopefully, he'll be better soon.
Hugs to everyone,
Karen

Hello ladies,
Hope you all are having a nice weekend. They are way to short, aren't they?
Nancy - so sorry to hear about your Dad. I have a friend that suffers with that - she watches her diet very carefully. Hope he feels better soon.
Lisa - thanks for filling everyone in on the Emerald City. There's no place like home - right?
Don't remember who suggested Margo as Toto but it was a fabulous idea!!!
Nettie & Nana - I swear sometimes I still wish I had no hair. It sure makes ou life a heck of allot easier. Nothing to fuss over in the morning, right? Nettie - have you tried putting vasoline on you feet and covering them with socks while you sleep? Nana - you really need to eat - I lived on Cream of Wheat and baked potatoes. I had the hardest time with liquids - could't even stand the taste of water. Hang in there ladies, you can do this!!
Karen - hope little Chase doesn't need a shot, poor guy. Swollen glands are the worst.
bingbing & Makarz - not sure we have met - Welcome to the wonderful world of OZ!!
Big shout out to everyone - have a great night.
AE
-
Karen, it's been a long time since I had to sit up with a sick child but how well I remember! Poor Chase, I hope he feels better soon and that he doesn't have to have a shot. Glad you were able to get out with your friends and have a bit of fun - good for you.
Cathi - more photos soon of the beautiful Margot in her haute couture - pleeease?

She is SUCH a model. So-o-o cute. I'd better not show these pix to my daughter or she'll be begging for a little dog again. We go through this every six months or so.
-
Cathi - OMG - too cute - I love how she is crossing her paws! She will make a great Toto!
-
I love the picture of toto, I mean Margo! So Cute!! Thanks for sharing.
-
What a sweetie! Again, I am not a dog person, but I'm sorry, she is just too sweet. Thanks Cathi, that made my day.
-
Cathi
What a poser Margot/ToTo is!!! Does she love the camera or what????? Well it loves her. I must work out how to print some of these off ... Any news on Jacklyn?
AE - I got complimentary therapy with the wonderful Isabel and she made me up a custom Shea Butter with Francensence and Lavender. Within 2 days I can walk normally again. There are so many true angels out there.Thank you so much for the advice. I have very dry heels and I have been putting moisturiser on them coz I know that sore feet are a common s/e, but I clearly needed something much richer. Getting over a wee upper resp infection, to which I am prone. Thought I would have to go to hosp last nght as my tep was 37.8. Had a cool shower and it came down to 37.2, so took 2 codine/paracetamol and it plateued at that level. No voice today tho, coz of the coughing, and my ribs are sore. Feeling better though!
Got my wig today! Very close to my own hair, but thicker. Think I will get it retrimmed to more closely resemble my natural hair but it is sooooooo very comfortable! To my surprise.
More pics of the glorious puppy Cathi, the uber cutie. I never cared much 'handbag' dogs as a breed, but now I long for one!!!
Watching a fascinating doc on Cleopatra, the murderer. She murdered her sister an this is an attemp to establish it.
Love you lots like jellytots
Nettie XXXXX
-
Cathi, when I look at that picture I can just hear you telling Margo what a pretty girl she is......
-
nettie - "jellytots" teehee
Hope that is a good thing!!!!
-
Margot/Toto really is posing! She must know how beautiful she is!
Nettie - the francenscense potion sounds wonderful - I bet it smells divine. I'm glad you are happy with your wig. I hope your cold (sounds more like the 'flu to me) gets better soon. I have one too at the moment and I seem to cough all night.
Love to everyone

Cathi, I've never been a Chihuahua person (always thought they were soooo ugly), but she is just the cutest little thing! I love her markings--especially those brown dots in the corners of her eyebrows. LOVE HER!!!
You're so lucky that your wig is comfortable, Nettie. I had two (and they weren't cheap), but I hated them both. They made me hot and itchy. I wore scarves (the do rag type) and hats the whole time.
I had myfirst "Mystic" tan experience today. I've got to get some color on my fat, pasty body before I get into a swimsuit in Vegas. Have any of you ever gotten a spray tan? It was sort of funny. The mist is COLD! I'm getting dark already, so I'm happy. My skin has the self-tanner smell though. Blech!! I hate that smell!
Love and hugs to all,
Karen

Hi all, away for a week and trying to catch up, just got in from our trip to Savannah, Charleston and Myrtle Beach- just me, dh and the lime yellow convertible...wonderful.
Karen- love the new picture-love the curls! Margo is adorable, grandkids really cute. Nettie so glad wig is working and comfy, custom shea butter concoction sounds lovely. So sorry for all the colds and URInfection..hope all are feeling well soon!!!!
Sweet dreams my dears, Elaine

Hi Elaine! We've missed you! Your vacation sounds wonderful! Mine probably won't be so idyllic. More like chaotic! LOL!! Oh well--I'm just glad to be getting out of town.
Hugs,
Karen
-
Karen, I've never done the spray tan, but I swear by Lacome Self-Bronzer. It has the best color (not all-orangey) and it doesn't have that self-tanner smell. It comes in different formulations...creams, sprays, and these little sponge pods that have a special facial formula. The BEST!
-
Karen...I'm sure you will have a wonderful trip. Is is just you and dh? or the whole family...that makes a difference
. So nice to travel without worrying about children (although mine are older just 21 and almost 18). Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!
-
Have a fantastic time Karen! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.
Hugs,
Jane
-
I'll have to try the Lancome self-tanner, Nancy. My good friend uses it too, and she loves it as well. I'm sure it would be less expensive too!
It's a family trip this time, Elaine. We went alone several years ago, before Chase was born. I kept thinking that there were so many things there that kids would enjoy (if we can get them away from the pool, that is).
Hugs to all,
Karen
-
Karen,
I LOVE your hair! I love the color and the curl. I'm jealous!
-
Thanks Linda. I wasn't too thrilled about it at first, but now I really kind of like it. Hope it stays like this for a while.
Hugs,
Karen

Cathi, I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers. How is she doing? Little Margo looks like she has been yours since she was born. She looks very comfortable. LOL. The mouse looks like it would mash her because it's so big compared to her.
Hope everyone is doing well. Cloudhowe, hope you are feeling better. How's the UR thing going? Are you getting plenty of liquids and rest?
Karen you will love Vegas, it's really fun. They have many things for the kids but I believe the pool will be number one. LOL How long does the spray on tan really last. I was thinking about going to the tanning bed has anyone done that after being diagnosed and having radiation? Does it matter? I know you can't get certain immunizations and things like that for 6 months after you finish treatment and I know the UV lights aren't good for you but I would like a little color in this skin.
I'm still working on loosing weight but not going very well. Every time I eat, I swell up like I'm pregnant but my colonoscopy is negative. Go figure. By in the morning the swollen stomach will go down and look normal.
Hugs to all

Dear Sue,
My name is Paul and I am a pharmacist and a lab owner... We do chemosensitivity testing on both solid tumors and whole blood. Once the tumor reaches one centimeter in size there is a good chance that the cancer has spread....Make sure uyou had a pet/ct scan to make sure it has not....If it has not you should do a couple rounds of chemo to try to shrink it and more importantly to mop up any cells that are floating around in your blood stream, because once you have surgery you will need time to heal and you wont be able to receive chemo for at least one to two months.....It is a good Idea to have your tumor analyzed to see which chemotherapies that you are sensitive to before they give you chemo blindly or according to evidence based medicine.....We do CHemotherapy Sensitivity testing and it is the most advanced analysis a cancer patient can get today in the US.... we can even tell you from your blood if the cancer has spread....You should check out our website for more info....www.Remissionlabs.com It can be of great value to you....good luck with the surgery
-
Leesa, they told me that the tan would last for about a week, so it will be perfect. I'll go for my last session on Saturday, we leave Sunday, and come back the following Saturday. I would have done the tanning bed thing (used to do it year round so I wouldn't be so pasty), but I have so much sun damage on my face. I guess I could cover my face and tan the rest of myself, but that would look a little strange. I think you should be fine if you wanted to use a tanning bed.
Hugs,
Karen
