Hi Nana,
Whilel you don't have all the answers you need or want at least you have some idea of what to expect in the upcoming days/weeks. I don't blame you for wanting it out - I would/have felt the same way, it doesn't belong, get it out. I am sure your mom is so worried for you, no mother wants to think of her child as being sick, no matter how old that child is.
Let us know what your DR. says when he calls.
Hugs and good thoughts coming your way. - Cathi

Hello everyone! Wow , there are a lot of new sisters here. Welcome to you all. Nana , I am sending you the biggest hug right now!((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Nana))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))). It doesn't matter how far we are out from our diagnosis , We all can relate to what you are feeling right now. Fear of the unknown is the worst. But you are not alone in your travel down this road. I will pray for you daily. That the Lord shall give you the strength, courage, and everything you need right now to get through this.Just remember , you are still at the beginning , and even though there is a 20% chance its bootface , you have an 80% chance its not! Keep that thought foremost in your mind. I'm sure you are worried. Fear has a way of creeping in and all different times. If you are not on and meds for anxiety and nerves , ask your doc for something. I asked for xanax. It really does help. If you feel you can get through this on your own , thats great. But please don't be afraid to ask for something. This is a very trying time for you. And just to let you know , my sister , had a tumor and two cysts removed that were all benign. I was dianosed in Feb. 07' with IDC. So you just never know. Good luck to you Nana. My prayers are with you and your family. Come here anytime. Someone is usually here. I am sorta in transision right now with my life , so I am here when I can get to a computer. The ladies here are the best. And we will help any way we can. Hugs and prayers to you Nana. Melody

If I don't get to come back before Christmas , I wish you all a peaceful , happy , filled with laughter , family and friends kinda Christmas. And for all who are going through a rough time right now , I pray the miracle of Christmas shall give you strength and peace. Remember ladies , Christmas is a time for miracles. Always believe. Never give up hope. For where we are going , find peace in knowing God is already there. I love you all. And anyone not celebrating Christmas , know I send you peace and joy and love. Melody

Wow Judie! You make me think " other than conception" who needs a man around!lololol You go girl.Although , I think its is a BIG plus to hook up with a mechanic!lol I'm so glad you have a new space that makes you feel good. Hope the weather is better so your sons can come see all you did on your own. I am so proud of you. I hope though , you didn
t pull or strain anything doing it. Man , I wish we lived closer. But I'm glad we can relate here. After the holidays , I'll tell you all whats been going on. For now , I miss you all. AE , sooooo very glad to hear B9!!!!!!!!!!! I hope all is well also with UB. Although , it sounds like he is trying to unload "Digbert! That precious baby , give him a big ole' hug and doggy kiss from his Aunt Melly!
Sue , I'm so sorry you are missing Zippy. Maybe a Christmas kitty is just what you need. Lilly really helped me remember Edwina in a good way when I got her.And I just believe one day , me and all my "furbabies" will see each other again. And my "honeygirl" had a great life with me. No one loved her anymore. And I know , Zipster had a beautiful life with you. I don't know how it will be when I die and my spirit moves on. But I kinda think I will get to be with them in a hologram kinda way. Since I'm still here , its the only way I can think of it. But no matter how it is , I know I am looking forward to it. I know I sound kinda "twilight zonie" but I know it will be perfect when the time comes.
I have to go for my mammo and pap too. I am waiting till after the holidays though. Here we go again! AE , I hope we all can follow your results of b9!
Hi Lisa! I'm so glad Oliver is home. That little sweatheart needed "mommy". It always helps a person to come home to heal. And I think its even more so for an animal. Give Oliver a gentle hug for me.So what did you get Dennis for Christmas? I can't wait to hear what he got you. Being in the jewelry business. Hope you two have a warm and fuzzy time.
Hi Leesa , thanks for the kind words. Yes , I was very relieved for the b9 results! But , I felt weird when my onc said I was "stable". I thought , you docs seem to have no problem saying "you have cancer" , but why can't he say "you are cancer free Mel". Stable made me feel like I still have bootface. Or they are just waiting for something to "go wrong". But , then again , I guess thats his job.
Karen , Jane , Shirlann , Wren , Kaloni , Jule , Sheila , Nancy , oh Nancy , that sucked about the party food. So glad you took of the wig! You are toally beautiful and didn't need it anyway! And all you ladies here and UB , love you , Have a great Christmas and may the peace of our Lord be with you always. Mel

Ahem Sue- The thought of Delbert on a luggage carousel is hilarious! A steak fit for a king?...Maybe I should go myself and keep him home. Do you make Oysters Rockefeller? If so, I'm on the next flight.
UB
-
Oh, Sheila! What a dear you are. You have a very lucky mil. I hope she appreciates you.
UB, you are hysterical. I know just how you feel about Dilbert. Can't live without 'em, can't live with 'em.
Cathi, those wings are also a stitch! Have you served them to your sweet hubby yet?
Welcome Nana. You've come to the right place. Hugs and healing energy winging your way from here.
Leesa, hope those babies (men fit that category too, when they are sick) get well quickly. Strep throat is the pits.
Lisa, take a little time off, will you? You're working too hard and we miss you. Kissy-Kissy to Oliver.
Sue, Digbert is heading for a life of royalty it seems. With the weather here, I could sure use a Digbert to keep me warm!
Mel!!! It just tickles me to see your sweet presence and wonderful images. Have a wonderful Christmas!
Sisters, I am TIRED of this moving (that's shifting to you Sue and Jane) crap. My very bones, yea my entire skeleton, are screaming this morning as I sit at the computer in my own place at last. Yesterday was dragging the computer desk into the apartment only to find it was 2" too wide for the door frame, even with the door removed. I had to disassemble the thing, then put it back together. This was followed by hauling in the computer and all it's little friends (printer, scanner, modem...all that stuff" and configure it all and find niches for it. My place is covered in scattered papers, manuals, cords, flotsam, jetsom, unused pieces of the desk. The installer arrived 3 hours late and we had to poke a hole in the wall, but I finally have telephone, internet, and TV.
The big stuff is done, but there is still too much stuff left in the old place for me to sort and find room for. I just can't muster much enthusiasm for the process after three previous rehearsals.
There's my whine for the day. I'm going over a disaster prepardness flyer to see if I'm ready. I haven't been able to get out because of the ice, and another storm is hitting tonight with snow, temps in the teens, and possible ice rain this time accompanied by high winds. Loss of power is a very real possibility. Right now is the only window of opportunity to prepare. How about you Karen? Are you guys ready? It could be quite a ride, or another one of those predicted disasters that never materialize.
I see we were on the national news with the buses that slid into each other with one pushed over a guard rail balanced halfway over a wall above the freeway. That was about a mile from my place. I thought about walking over to see it, but the icy sidewalks made me chicken out.
There was a murder last week in a restaurant associated with the "mob" a block away, a big apartment fire across the street, a gang/drug fight/bust on my block...it goes on. It's a great neighborhood in general, but cities always have problems. Here's one payoff...Sunrise from my living room window yesterday.
Be well and warm dear ones!
Judie -
OMG, Judie. What a gorgeous view you have from your new apartment! Beautiful!
We're not really prepared for the possible wind and freezing rain storm. We were at the mall, shopping all day and came home late this evening. Needless to say, we were exhausted from battling the crowds and traffic. Neither of us wanted to think about anything other than eating some dinner and relaxing. So far, the wind hasn't been too bad here. There were some fairly strong gusts early this evening as we walked from the parking lot into Best Buy. Nothing too horrible though. I can't believe how much snow we're getting. I don't remember having this much since I was in high school. When is your son driving over the pass? Boy, I hope he doesn't have too much trouble.
Stay warm!
Hugs,
Karen
-
I'm sending you big hugs, Nana. We can all relate to the anxiety you're experiencing. I'll pray for b9 results for you. Hang in there!
Hugs,
Karen
-
UB, you crack me up! You'd miss Delbert if he wasn't around. I keep telling my dh the same thing about Tinker, but he thinks I'm full of crap.
Hugs,
Karen

What a joy it is to log on and read all your wonderful posts! So great to hear from our dear Mel - I wish you all the best things for Christmas too and pray that 09 will be a much, much better year for you. I love all the pics - especially the watercolour of the Christmas tree - so pretty!
Judie - you have worked so hard but I sense your feeling of achievement and I think it's a good omen. I love your view - wow! I hope the storm doesn't wreak too much havoc. My niece who lives in Ontario rang the other day to say they were having a whiteout with strong winds and swirling snow. I hope your son has a safe trip over the pass. Is that the road over the Rockies? My eldest son had a hair-raising trip with a truckie over the mountains to Calgary when he was in BC last month. It rained, snowed, and threw just about every type of weather at them. Oh, btw, we say 'moving' in Australia! Sometimes I re-type things when I post here because I suspect I might be saying it in a weird way.
The weather is extreme everywhere. We had snow here at the end of last month and it's summer!! (Well, technically, it was the end of spring). Last night it got down to 6C (that's 41F) which is pretty cool for a summer's night but I love the cool weather in the mountains. (I wonder if I will change my tune when I'm shivering next winter?)
Nana - I have been thinking of you today - big hugs to you and please know that you are in my prayers.
Karen, hope you miss out on the wild weather too. How's dear old Tinker going? I love your compassion and care for her - she is such a lucky dog go have you in her life.
Hi and love to you all, including Nancy, Sue, Kaloni, Sheila, Shirlann, Ann, Lisa and Leesa, Cathi, Dink, Ulla, Wren, UB & AE, Jule, Suebee and everyone else.

Hi sisters! I am in the middle of the Pacific using a computer that is slower than the second coming. Yikes!
First, all of you remember that soy mimics estrogen, so take care on that front.
Delbert is an amazing dog! Makes me miss mine soooo much.
Sue, love, you got this same thing last year, but you had chemo too. It is a "super bug". A cold, but a heck of a lot worse than we are used to. But eventually, you will get well.
I probably won't get to wish my dear sisters "MERRY CHRISTMAS" again, as I am on the ship's stupid computer, so know you are all in my heart.
Gentle hugs, Shirlann

Shirlann - Merry Christmas! Hope you are having a wonderful time.
A friend just sent me a recipe for a Tequila Christmas Cake:
1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
Lemon juice
4 large eggs
Nuts
1 bottle tequila
2 cups of dried fruit
Sample the tequila to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the tequila
again. To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and
drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a
large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again.
At this point it's best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try another cup... just in
case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and
chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Pick the fruit up off floor. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a
drewscriver.
Sample the lequita to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Check the tequila. Now shift the lemon juice
and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink.
Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try
not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through
the window. Finish the tequila and wipe counter with the cat.
CHERRY MISTMAS! -
Hello sisters and new friends. How are you all doing? It was cold here today 28 degrees and my DH made me a fire in the fireplace. It is very cozy. Nana, we will al be thinking of you and we are sending you our strength and hugs.
Judie, take it wasy and enjoy the beautiful sunrise it is truly awesome.
Cathi, I don't usually let my DH see these emails but I had to let him see the chicken and he just laughed.
Donnie bought me a new bedroom suite to go in the extra room which will also be the girls room when they are here. I wanted to fix it up like a cottage or like a guest house like seen in a bed and breakfast. I just dont' know what to do can you guys hep me with suggestions? I thought about doing it in red and yellow (yoeelow walls with plaid red, yellow, and cream colors in the bedding/pillows and paint the wood work brite white) Then I thought about blue or lavender. I can't decide - I need some suggestions. I don't want it to look like I made it for a little girl.
Merry Christmas to everyone incase I don't get to write again before Christmas. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I love the furbabies.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL -AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

Devin arrived safely on Friday with the help of chains and a brief break in the weather. Great timing. No, Jane, not the Rockies. It's the Cascade Mountain Range. Actually he said the pass wasn't bad. It was getting to the freeway from Walla Walla in deep snow that was tricky. He had to get help to push his car out of its parking spot in front of the dorm so that they could leave. I'm glad the rest of the trip was uneventful.
Great to see you Shirlann. Have a wonderful rest of cruise.
Jane, as soon as I strap on my spikes I'm heading out in a blizzard to get ingredients for the Christmas cake. It's just what I need right now!
Cathi I love the sounds of your holiday plans.
Sorry about the lost post, AE. You have lots of empathy from one who's been there all too often.
Love your ideas for a color scheme, Leesa. I love the cottage look.
That's all I can muster tonight. I've been at it all day and am going to collapse into my bed.
Judie
-
Jane, someone sent me that same tequila cake recipe the other day. In fact, I sent it to my good friend who lives in Australia (NSW). How funny that it's making the rounds there too! I want to try it--sounds yummy. LOL!!
Well, I've been wrapping presents all day and I'm pooped. Take care everyone!
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
Enjoy the rest of your cruise, Shirlann! It was great to hear from you. Merry Christmas!
-
Leesa - love your color scheme - we will need pictures when its done.
Cathi - don't take this personally but - I hate you!!! lol. It was 0 here today with the wind chill.
Judie - happy to hear your son is OK.
Shirlann - enjoy your time cruising.
Have a great day everyone.

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO SPEND CHRISTMAS IN FLORIDA?????
-
Just checking in, I will be on occasionally this week, only working a few hours to try and stay ahead of the orders. It was 18 degrees when I got up this morning and not expected to get much above freezing. Good thing this cold weather came after the rain finished yesterday or we would be under snow or ice. It is supposed to warm up before Christmas. Cathi, I am ready to head south.
Sheila
-
Kinda funny I went for my AM coffe today and a rather senior "snippy" lady from Canada was complaining "she just doesn't know how us people down here can enjoy Chrismas, it is just to warm" I did say to here "nicely" we enjoy a 80 degree Christmas the same way you enjoy a 60 degree Fourth of July, I'm just wondering why she is even here if she doesn't want a warm Christmas - HELLO -It is Florida!
-
Hey Cathi, if she's Canadian, she doesn't celebrate the Fourth of July...
-
Hi everyone, just got home from my doctors and not good.
Here is a portion of the result:
The study demonstrates an irregular lobulated mass in the left breast at the 1 o'clock position. The lesion corresponds to the abnormality seen on the mammography study. It measures 2.2 x 1.5 cm in diameter. It is heterogenecus in appearance. The lesion is highly suspicious for malignancy, appropriate action should be taken.
My doctor is scheduling a lumpectomy and he told me they would test it while I was under the knife. Depending on the results, what tissues are affected, lymph nodes (they were tender in my arm pit), hormones, etc., will determine whether they remove the whole breast. He said I may come out of the surgery without my breast.
We are waiting until after January 1 for the lumpectomy b/c of insurance reasons. I have better coverage after that date. Will cost me a lot less and my doc said it is okay to wait.
I tried so hard to be a tough cookie ... my daughter went with me. But I ended up crying like a baby. She held me.
My doctor was great. Very understanding, caring. He gave me a big hug when he left, saying how sorry he was. I told him I was going home and getting drunk ... he said I don't blame you.
God bless you all.
Cheryl
-
Nana - I'll have an extra glass of Egg Nog in your honor this evening. I am so sorry about your news, I know it is kind of pointless to say don't worry, who does not worry. Just know that we are all here for you, anytime you need us.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXO -Cathi.
-
So sorry to hear this news, Cheryl. You go ahead and cry. Go ahead and get drunk too! Hang in there, hon. We're here for you no matter the outcome.
((((((((((Cheryl))))))))))
Hugs,
Karen
-
Nana, I know it's hard and I'm sorry you got such news. We are all here for you, though... Anytime.
Judie!!! Wow, what a great view. Glad Devin made it too!
Shirlann!!! Have fun out there in the middle of the Pacific!
Everyone else, stay warm and comfy... (we all know you are Cathie! I wish I were there)
Hugs to you all!
-
Dear Nana, I am so sorry to hear your news. Crying is ok and it might relieve just a tiny bit of tension. What a stinking disease this is! Please know that you are in my thoughts.
Hugs,
Jane xoxo
