You're right, Nancy. It's HAIR and I'm darn grateful to have it!! Thanks for the kind words, everyone. You're all so sweet!
Well, like Judie said, it's snowy and cold here in the Seattle area. Chase and Rusty are outside playing. Portia had a two hour delay this morning, but Chase has a snow day since he's in half-day kindergarten. He's thrilled about that!
Judie, I can't believe how rude and inconsiderate people are sometimes. Why would those jerks just stand there watching you, and not offer to help when you were obviously struggling? Unbelievable!!
Love to everyone,
Karen
-
And by darn, I did it!!!
The guys couldn't come yesterday due to the snow and bitter cold. So, methinks, why let that stop you?
All by myself without a bit of testoserone assistance, I moved all my furniture except the futon frame. I dismantled my sleigh bed, moved and reassembled it, moved large dresser and nightstands, recliner, upholstered rocker.
Okay, so I'm not really superhuman. The building has flat loop pile carpet. My current apartment faces the elevator. My new apartment is four stories up just to the right of the elevator. Everything slides easily on the carpet, so I did almost no lifting. It was a lot of work, but not terribly physically demanding.
But I got bragging rights!!! It was worth it.
Now on to all the little stuff and trying to get it upstairs and organized. I love the new place. It is truly mine, has a great view and is well laid out.
Are you frozen yet Karen? We're supposed to break some records. I'm worried about Devin driving over the pass on Friday. This will be his first winter driving in this stuff in his own car.
Sheila, I was so mad at those guys I just put on my "I'll show you" attitude. They had told me I couldn't do it and would have to hire a truck.
Off to haul more stuff. Have a great day, all. Back when I can.

OMG - seems I forgot to mention Sheila in my last post - I KNEW I would forget someone
- my apologizes my friend!

Before John came home, there were times when I just do stuff at the house during the week rather than bother calling my brothers or brother-in-law to come over and help. Then they would fuss at me for doing stuff. I have scolosis (crooked spine) with a steel rod holding my back straight and I shouldn't physically do some of the stuff that I do. Then yesterday, my mom and sister, were at the church painting the scenery for the Christmas play. We are working on it again tomorrow and we will be putting a piano hinge on the plywood Christmas tree. My sister is bringing her cordless screwdriver/drill to use in the assembly process. Who needs men!
Sheila
-
Sheila - you are absolutely right - who needs a man - (I do for some things. LOL) when we can do it ourself. Judie, please dont' overdo and don't forget to rest. AE any qord yet on the biopsy? I know it's B9 but would just like to be sure.
Ms. Cathi are you behaving today - of course not, I know you are up to something.
Karen it was so cold here today - we woke up to 19 degrees and the high weas only 28 degrees - boy did "Arthur" aggrevate my poor little bones. LOL
Sue are you ok?
Hello to everyone.
Leesa
-
Well Leesa -actually I am behaving, working like crazy - this week will be insane it always is, the attorneys are loading me with last munite stuff that must be completed this week to meet Dept Of Labor & Homeland Security Guidelines , so I will pretty much be working sun up to sun down ( they are in every time zone), but it is ok because come this Friday they will all be gone until Jan5 or later, so I get 2 weeks of rest. Well maybe I was bad a little - my computer is running a bit slow -and I confess- I said a few "potty words" why do we swear at machines anyway????
Judie, Boy it sure sounds like you are doing way to much, please be careful.
I am kinda torn by the whole "who needs a man thing" I like to know that I can do such things for myself "if I need to" BUT I enjoy being a girl and having nails and wearing dresses, what ever, so heck if theres a man around to take the trash out -theres no way I am doing it- HA
YEAH - My cold is so improved, hope you can say the same Sue, just sinus drip but I feel so much better.
xoxoxoxoxoxo - Cathi
-
See Cathi, I knew you were up to something. I just found out Friday that our new surgery center will be completed sooner than we expected. It will be at 80% by January 19, 2009 and we will have our first inspection. The rush is really on now to finish all of the contracts, policy and procedures, insurance, hire employees, and finish ordering supplies and equipment. THen of course complete applications for DEA, licensing and accreditations. I never knew that I would do something like this but it has been an eye opener. I really appreciate my former boss even more now. I wear myself out just thinking of all the things I have to get done. I have an immediate boss and she's helping me but it seems almost too much for just two people to handle everything but we work well together. I have almost completed one manual it's just time to do the proofing.
Judie I hope you are ok.
Well, it's back to the grindstone. Oh and by the way, I love my husband being around to help with things. I have to admit at times I ask him to do things just so I can look at him or have him close by. He never complains and he keeps house better than most women. The children adore him and he singing is wonderful. He sings alot without realizing it.
xoxoxoxox- Leesa

Leesa I was just thinking about something in regards to needing men around -me and my thinking. I guess I never really became the liberated woman - "never burned my bra" when it was the cool thing to do - who would have know all these years later - the bra would be stripped from my body - LOL. But I am still not all that liberated, my honey is old school, still opens doors and things like that, he is a gentelman by all means, and I don't mind looking at his butt either when he drops something - (Or maybe thats me dropping things on purpose) HA!
-
You are my hero, Judie! My mom is just like you--she never waited around for a man to help her with the heavy labor. She injured herself more than once though, so you be careful Missy!
Leesa, I'm in pain from this darn cold weather too! I feel like such a cripple. The only time it doesn't hurt is when I'm on my treadmill or if I'm laying in bed. Strange, huh?
I'm so glad you're feeling better Cathi. That husband of yours sounds like a definite keeper. My dh sits in his recliner while I walk past on my way to take the trash out. He barely gives me a second glance, and he certainly doesn't offer to take it out for me. Sigh...........
You guys aren't going to believe what Tinker did today. I've been confining her to the kitchen area while I'm gone because she's been piddling on the carpet so much. I keep the dog's food in large, plastic containers back by my washer and dryer. Somehow, she got the lid off of Buddy's food and ate a bunch of it. I swear, she ate around four cups or more of it! Her stomach is so bloated, she looks like a pot-bellied pig! She'd been doing so well on her diet too!
Hugs to everyone,
Karen

ok ladies...I have work to do on my desk...just wanted to say hi. I read all of your posts..and when I am not busy..I will respond..and update you on my weeked.
OLIVER IS HOME!!!
xoxo
Lisa
-
Oh Karen - I did laugh when I read about Tinker's binge! She was pretty clever to get the lid off - I hope her tummy has gone down by now. I was looking after a horse once and she got down on her knees, crawled into a low shed, removed the lid of a container and guzzled down the grain mix that I kept there for my chickens. A big no-no for a horse. I was so worried about her, rang her owner and then the vet. She was ok but I was so worried. I really leaned a lesson over that incident. How on earth do animals get lids off when they don't have hands?!
Lisa - so great to know that Oliver is safely home. He is sure to make a quick recovery with you as his carer.
Judie - I hope you are ok with all your hard work. I do admire your attitude though. The new apartment sounds lovely.
My eldest son James is going to the airport today to meet a girl he spent some time with overseas. They may be coming up here to stay the night as they have to go back and pick up her sister tomorrow who couldn't get on the same flight. I think James is hoping to matchmake the sister with Will (his brother). Then they are all meeting up with my ex (boys father) to go hiking in some mountains further south. They are aiming to walk 60 kms in 3 days. I hope the girls are fit!
Must go and clean my house.
Hi also to Sheila, Dink, Cathi, Ann, Jule, Sue (your mammo is today I think - saying a prayer it will all be fine and benign), AE & UB, Mel, Shirlann, Ulla, Kaloni, AnnNYC, Wren, Nancy, Suebee and anyone I may have missed.

Speaking of hair, I went to work today without my wig! I've been planning to stop wearing it when I came back from my Christmas break, but when I looked at it this morning, I just couldn't put it on. I got good responses—everything from, "Great haircut. You're so chic!" to "I was wondering when you'd get your own hair back." Not everyone knew I was wearing a wig or that I was in treatment.
It's great to be wigless!

Fumi! Happy Birthday!
