Lisa - I remember that post but I had forgotten that it was dear Melody who started the yellow brick road theme. Thank you so much for finding that.
-
And this is the next reference to the EMERALD CITY...ahh...what a journey...I have loved every minute of it!!
10 Nov 2007 06:21 PM You ladies are so awesome!! I love the analogy of the Wizard of Oz as well! And Dorothy thought she had problems..haha.Can we make the Emerald City...the place that Cancer does not exist...and all is welcome?? Wouldn't that be great for all?Melody...your journey sounds sooo much like mine! Even the same time frame.xoxo Lisa -
Yes Jane....a small trip down memory lane!! You and Mel, and Shirlanne and Karen have been there with our dear Sue since September!! How wonderful...I did not know that! She is so loved!!
I love all of you dear ladies..and feel so privileged to be a part of this beautiful family!! I so want us to all meet!! That is my dream...and I will do what it takes to make it come true. I will help Melody with her letter..or whatever she would like for me to do.
Mel and I have a lunch date next month...and I am counting down the days!! I wish we could all be at the lunch at NORDIES AT NOON!!
xoxo
Lisa
anybody else having problems with posting?? I hit submit..and it doesn't go anywhere..takes awhile...??
-
And isn't it great that just like Dorothy's trip to Emerald City, you picked up a lot of stragglers along the way! There's a whole parade of us.
I'm having the final-before-surgery chemo at noon today. Got a preliminary call from my PCP's office saying the PET scan was favorable. I'll get the full report when I see my onc in a few hours.
Since I may not see the wonderful nurses at the offfice for a while, I made a dozen sandwich wraps to bring in with me...chicken with avacado and tomato on low-fat white wraps, grilled vegetables on spinach wraps...as a thanks, and hey, it'll be lunch time!
Sue and Suebee, I hope you're both feeling a little better today. Every day further away from the tx or procedure is a day of healing and recovery. You know the feeling...sometimes we can't see the little increments, but when we look back over a couple of days, we see the progress.
-
Lisa - Not sure if our Sue has seen who has won AI.
Gotta run,
bbl,
AE

I am really having a day where I find myself going thru pictures old posts etc...not sure why. I thought I would share some of my favorite pics of my dear sweet grandson. Again...I feel so blessed that even though he was adopted, we are such a big part of his life...he is my pride and joy!
He loves to help in the kitchen.
With Alise last Easter.
-
Sorry....had to brag!! I guess a grandma has that right...haha.
OMG...AE...I forgot that Sue has not seen it yet!! Whoops!
-
AE...just looked back...I didn't let the cat out of the bag. Just said our boy won...I hope it won't spoil it for her.
Sorry Sue!

Right back at you Sue
I found this on another thread - it sounds interesting - Sue & Ulla - you may want to check it out, some ladies take it in place of Tamox or Arm.

Sue - I love you too! I love all of you wonderful women and I so wish I could meet you!
Lisa - grandmothers are allowed to rave about their grandchildren as much as they like! I love the photos of the darling - he's soooo cute!
Ulla - fantastic that your port is out but sorry you are feeling sick. I hope a good night's sleep makes you feel better.
Nancy - I am probably too late to wish you all the best for your final, pre-surgery chemo. I am thinking of you.
Love to everyone,
Jane xxx

Hi everyone! Just reporting in that the 4th tx went down very well. I'm reading my two very postive reports from the past week. The PET confirmed th findings of the MRI, and also noted that the previous enlargements of the lymphnodes are gone, and there was no sign of hypermetabolism...which I guess means the cancer is inactive(dead) in them now. No solid tumor left in my breast, only some small dispursed areas of foci in place of it.
I suspect this will still mean a mx, as what can you do to clean up after that? Gotta take the whole thing because what may be left is not in any one spot. I wonder if this downgrades/downstages me? Do they do that?
Anyway, looking forward to a restful holiday weekend here, with an extra day to recover.
-
Nancy, I'm so glad to hear that your last pre-surgery chemo went well. And what great test results! The chemo really did its job. I don't know if they down-stage people after the tumors shrink away. Interesting question. Anyway, I'll be praying for few se's this time around for you!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Oh gosh! AE, it was me who spilled the beans about AI, not Lisa. I posted the winner's pic and everything! I completely forgot about Sue not seeing it until later in the week. I'm so sorry if I spoiled it for you, Sue!!
Love and hugs,
Airhead Karen
-
Lisa, the pics of Matthew are so cute! He is so adorable. And Alise is beautiful--all your girls are just stunning (like their mom)!!
Hugs,

Hi Sweeties,
I could not sleep, so here I am. Ha.Sue, I am so glad

Jane, yes I guess I have been heading for OZ too, this thread has made me laugh and cry sometimes at the same time.
My3girls you grandson is adorable, and those beautiful big brown eyes are to die for.
Of course Shirlann and I are old friends, I think she was the first person here that I pm'd. Hi Shirlann

We are going to camp in the mountains house for the weekend (no furniture - we will have to sleep on the floor but it will be fun!). I will 'see' you all next week! Love to everyone.

Nancy - don't stress over having the mastectomy. I had a lumpectomy and sometimes I wish I had a mast. Having to constantly go for biopsies is not fun!

Oh my, this little kitty looks so much like my Cleo! Cleo has four white paws and a white ring part way round her neck and a white chest. Her face is completely black with white whiskers! I will post a pix if I can get her to sit still.
She is just a wonderful kitty. I don't know what we did without her!
Hugs, Shirlann

My goodness Sue...I just love your spunk..your spirit is remarkable. Don't worry about relying on your own immune system...you are such a fighter...it will take care of you.
Nancy D..so happy to hear this tx is treating you well. Isn't that wonderful that your tumor has shrunk from the nasty chemo!! Great news! Enjoy your 3 days off!
Jane...enjoy your camping in the mountains. I give you credit for sleeping on the floor. Do you have blow up mattresses? Enjoy, enjoy!!
Ulla...sorry that you are still feeling the upset stomach from the tamox. How exciting that you will be able to work as a dentist again! See..things are looking so wonderful for you!!
Mel..the lil sister is adorable!! What will you name her? How is Lilly doing with her? I hope she is being a good big sister..haha.
Karen....I never thought of spoiling it for Sue either..I wonder if we did? She has not mentioned it.
Thanks ladies for letting me brag and share my pictures of my little bugaboo! He is so special, and I am so blessed that he is in my life. It could have been a much different scenario, if he had not been adopted by such loving parents! He is a blessing for all of us! Thanks for all of your kind words about him. See how happy Alise is with him?? She is very proud of what she did and him!
Diana...I am just north of you. I am near Akron and Medina..so about 2 hours north of Columbus.
What a beautiful weekend we are having here in Ohio!! I am working today, but off for the next 2 days..and I plan on enjoying the beautiful weather!! I hope all of you enjoy whatever your weekend holds for you.
Have a great day ladies....Love to all of you!!
xoxo
