What a wonderful day this is!! I just got teary eyed and goose bumps reading all the posts..along with the wondeful news.
Sue honey...you did it!!! OMG...I am so proud of you...and I can hardly believe the time is finally here! You beat it! Dorothy..."there is no place like home"..and you are there!
Ulla...great news for you sweetie!! I am glad you have a new oc and that you aced your test! You will be so relieved to have that port out..I know I was. I will think of you next Thursday, and say a prayer for you to have strength and an easy surgery.
Suebee..I am glad to hear you are doing better. Have you heard anything as to if you will need any chemo at all? I know it's hard to head back to work and leave your children. I was very fortunate (well it took allot of budgeting) to stay home with my girls while they were growing up. I didn't have to go to work until my divorce. Here is to winning the lottery!
UB...you are such a dear. Val you and your husband are an amazing couple. When I read your posts...you can just feel the love! I got chills reading UB post...so very tender. I hope both of you are doing well.
I won't be able to view your youtube or pics till I get home. Right now it looks like I will be at work for at least another 45 min. It's 7:30pm now...our flight is delayed.
Much love to all my sisters...on this very happy, joyous occasion!!
Celebration!!
Oh..I love the fact that you heard EJ's song AE...how appropriate! I love Elton...I listen to his cd in my car all the time!!
xoxo

Congratulations Sue! You made it!!! I'm so happy for you!
Also, congrats Ulla for passing your class! What a great feeling.
I hope you both feel OK too after your treatments/meds.
Amazing how far we all have come... but we are all making it one way or another.
My surgery will be June 11th to get the expanders exchanged for implants. I am busy doing things to get my house ready, etc.
Thank you all for caring about me.
I sure wish we could have a big party to celebrate our successes...
I'd love it if Oprah could help us... that's probably the only way I'd ever be able to go anywhere... LOL...
You are all in my heart and I think of you all often.
Hugs!
-
Oh my gosh AE!lol Do you and Lisa remember that day we said we looked like uncle Fester , and Sue and Ulla looked him up on the net and were soooo shocked! We grew up watching him, but they didn't! Poor girls. But that was so funny.lol
-
I'm sitting here in bed with Chase and catching up on the posts from today. I'm all teary-eyed and filled with love for each and every one of you.
Sue, you did it sweetie!!!! This is the last time you have to feel so ill! I know that being finished with tx's comes with mixed feelings, but you're going to be FINE!! You have totally annihilated bootface a$$!!! I am so very happy for you!!! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.
AE, how amazing that that song came on! Goodbye FOREVER Yellow Brick Road! Our Sue has made it to the Emerald City.
Congratulations, Ulla! I'm so happy that you passed your test. I'm even more happy that you have a new onky. That other jerk just made me so angry!! You deserve so much better.
UB, I was so touched when I read your very sweet post. You are truly one of us! You and AE are so lucky to have eachother and we're lucky to know you both!
Suebee, how great that you're feeling better! I hope everything continues to go as scheduled for you.
Much love to everyone--Mel, Lisa, Jane, Wren, Nancy, Anne, AnnNYC, Shirlann, Sheila, Jule, Judie, and anyone I may have missed.
Hugs,
Karen

Oh! I forgot to tell you all that I've been asked to participate in a research study. Someone from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is coming to interview me on June 2. I'm kind of looking forward to it. They're doing a study on why some young women develop breast cancer and others don't. Should be interesting!
Hugs,
Karen

Dear Sue,
September 11, 2007 to May 20, 2008. Diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy treatment.
Congratulations, Sue, on finishing your last chemo infusion yesterday. I still follow along, and had a smile on my face this morning, which I had to join with a note of encouragement to you. You've walked a long yellow brick journey with your friends, and certainly deserve a massage and hair salon visit prior to meeting Oz. Then he may send you back to time without surgery and chemo, to just living and working, and being a Mom and friend.
If anyone fit's Dorothy in this well documented role, it's you Sue. But don't click those brilliant red shoes together quite yet, as you want this last chemo effect to pass, so you go home well!
You've made many friends on the way to Oz,
Tender -
Nancy, my mom actually started losing her hair on Halloween! we had gone out to supper that evening and all was well, she went home and her head started itching, when she went to scratch, she brought her hand down with a lot of hair. She did not do much with it that night but called her beautician the next morning and she took mom in right away and washed out as much as possible before cutting any off. she showed mom how to put her wig on and when Mom showed up at my job the next morning, I did not realize that it was her wig not her real hair. It went by quick.

Hi Lucy! How good to hear from you again! Hope your soreness passes soon.
Kaloni, you may be new to this thread but you should consider yourself very much a part of it. I always enjoy reading your posts. How are you feeling today (tonight)?
Nancy - we will all be here for you as you travel the yellow brick road. Sue did it tough but she has triumphed and you will too.
So good to hear from Tender too. Your posts are always so welcome.
Karen, that's great that you are involved in a research study and it will be interesting to know what the results will be. It's a good feeling to be able to give back in some small way in the hope of finding out more and developing knowledge and weapons against bootface.
Wren, it will be so good to have your exchange surgery over. We will all be here to support you as you recover from surgery.
UB - loved your post. It's so great to have you here!
My posts will probably be shorter and fewer over the next few weeks as we have started renovations and packing and I have a lot of assignments due for my class.
Love to all I have mentioned and all I haven't.

Ulla...this is for you!! I found this thread...read it..and thought I would copy and paste it here for you to read. You many want to chat with this young lady. See Ulla...this will be you too!!
13 May 2008 10:45 PM hey guys... i don't post here all that often, but the chat room was a lifeline to me when i was going throught treatment. just thought i'd give some of you something to look forward to, hope for, whatever.
i was diagnosed a little over 2 years ago just after my 29th birthday. i did surgery, chemo, rads and was on the SOFT trial for over a year. a few months ago, i was given the okay to take a break from the drugs and try to get pregnant. i actually had frozen embryos from when i was diagnosed and all my docs agreed that i should just use them, as then maybe we could control how quickly i got pregnant, etc. a couple of months ago, i had an oophorectomy since i wouldn't need my ovaries and it made me feel better in the time i'd be off tamoxifen.
well a week ago i was implanted with 2 embryos and today i got confirmation that i am in fact, pregnant... after breast cancer, even being er/pr positive and without any ovaries.
it's about time my body stops betraying me.
i know when i was diagnosed all i could think about was having a family and i never got someone to share a story like this. hopefully it will make someone realize it can happen.

Wow! Ulla really needs to chat with that lady. See Ulla! There is hope. You're going to be a mommy one day. I just know it!!
Lisa, David Cook is my favorite too. I haven't seen the show yet, but I did some googling and found out who won by accident. My lips are sealed in case any of you don't know yet. I think regardless of the results, both of these guys are going to be HUGE!
Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Ladies....I was going back to the beginning of our DOROTHY'S journey...and look what I found...the beginning of our YELLOW BRICK ROAD!....here it is....
10 Nov 2007 05:50 PM
You haven't let anyone down Sue. We are all traveling on the same road. I know , the wizard of oz! Thats how I feel. I'll be the scarecrow , you can be pretty Dorothy , Zippy can be our Toto. And will go arm in arm and pick up Karen and won't know whats next , but hey , we are all in this together!!!!
Seriously Sue , I met the above. We are all in this together. And no matter what happens , we will be here for each other.
I know , I wish I was normal too. But at the point I am at , I feel more normal than I have since this all started for me in Feb. I am not making small of what you are feeling Sue , I'm just saying in time , you will feel more normal. I wish I could speed your tx time up and you were right where we all are. But please don't fret. We are all ready to help you through. Your Nov. chemo group will help too. It really helps to go through this with others at the same time. Sometimes you need to cry Sue. I wish I was with you too. Having a good cry helps me immensely. I don't look so good afterwards(lol) but I feel better. Maybe make yourself a cuppa , and try to relax. xxxxMelody

Oh I can't keep away. Thank you for all your inspiring posts! Lisa - that was such a wonderful, heart warming post from the girl who is now pregnant. Ulla - there is so much hope!
Suebee, I didn't mention you in my last post. Am thinking of you. My brain is a bit foggy with tiredness at the moment but I think you said you are feeling a bit better. That is great news! Please be gentle with yourself.
Diana - you have been on the yellow brick road too and you are nearly there! It's so good to know that you have been following this thread and hopefully gaining some strength from watching Sue triumph over this.
Sue - thinking of you and hope you are coping with the side effects of this final treatment.
It's late. Bed beckons.
Love to everyone,
Jane xxx
