I have to post this one - sorry UB -
-
This pic was without my duvet cover - I have to wash it constantly it gets soooo dirty with the beasts sleeping on it. Notice the plaid blanket - I use it cause the beasts are forever pulling the covers ever which way!!! By the way, the brown color was UB's choice- the room was light blue before.

Hi Ulla,
I cant help with the weight question as I am really back with the change over from kilos to our american pounds....
I know I always see a diffence too....they say that if you weigh yourself fully clothed with no shoes then you need to subtract 3-4 pounds for the clothing weight...
I have weighed myself with clothes, without clothes, before eating, after eating and I ALWAYS get one or two pounds difference....
The thing I find funniest is that I have weighed myself naked before a shower, then again right after showering and find that I am 5 pounds heavier after showering, but I think I have that figured out....I have really thick hair and I think it is water weight in my hair after my shower...
Hugs

thanx jule for the answer..
its always 1kgm=2pounds (approximately)
so the difference is always 2 pounds for me..=1kgm
i would love to believe the less weight as if it wasnt true ,,would the scale read my wieght less than it is with 1kgm..
lets choose the less no..
smiles

Hi ladies,
Just popped in to say, it's chemo weekend for me so I'm laying low.
But having a disagreement with my daughter. She takes her driver's test this week and thinks she should be allowed to take the car off today, license or no license. Where's the brains? It's going around and around, and I finally had to tell her to just leave me alone.
Sorry, go to go check and make sure she didn't drive off anyway.
Nancy

Yikes Nancy...hide the keys..... xxx

I forgot to mention how FABULOUS ALL the pictures are. I definitely think it brings us closer together.

Hi Ulla!!!
When I took the house picture, the ducks down the street saw me outside and flew over - I feed them everyday.
This is the back of my place.
-
oh god dear AE the pix of ur house r charming..and those ducks r soooooo lovely...
i used to feed the ducks everytime i go for shopping in a near bigger city called(Borås)..there r many of them swimming freely and i feel so relaxed to watch and feed them...
i will post some pix for my TINNY FLAT..it is really small..not wat i used to have wen i was in baghdad,,but everything is different here ,,not so much big flats and houses..everything is small in sweden..
i have a friend who is american man married to a swedish woman and he is attending the same class to learn swedish,,he said something made me laugh really ,,,he said that he used to use (TINNY )word infront of anything swedish to be accurate in describe it,,,
so TINNY swedish flat....etc

O-o-oh, I love your townhouse, AE. Very nice.
And just wanted to report that daughter was good...waited for one of my brothers to show up and asked him to drive her to her bf's. Ah, young love. But it must be a pain to have a mom who's sick and can't do the things I was doing for her just a few months ago.
But on a funny note, last night she was looking at the hairs left on my head and started pulling them off with a wad of tape. Then she made a comment that we were like monkeys grooming each other.
Back to my dark hole. I'm so fatigued this time. And absolutely no taste buds at all. Totally shot. And my brothers are grilling lamb chops tonight—one of my favorite meals; they really know how to make me suffer.
But this is half-way through chemo. Now we'll have a break for some tests to see where we are...maybe ready for surgery.
And at some point, I'll have to learn to post pictures myself. I'm not technically challenged, but this format seems a little different than I'm used to.
'Night. (Even though it's the middle of the afternoon here. My room is dark enough that it could be midnight.)
-
OK ....Soz for the blur its a bit rainy...this is my shack and my lil red brum brum!!!
And this is what I see from my shack door xxx
-
Oh, Nancy, I'm sorry. Grilled lamb chops would put me over the edge. But I adore your attitude. You are one tough lady. When are tests scheduled? And to make you feel a bit better, I hope, about your daughter...my youngest daughter used to take my car while I slept long before she was old enough to get a license. I just learned this the other day. I only knew about the time she lost control backing out of our drive and hit two cars parked at our neighbor's house. My insurance company specifically listed her as not covered on my auto policy! It shook her up so much that she never drove again until her late 20s! She grew up to be extremely responsible, but I wondered during those teen years...
AE, you and UB are amazing. And I love your townhouse, especially the ducks outside and the critters on the bed. Are they labs? (not UB, of course, he's clearly a Racing Snoozhound...I just love those). I adore labs and German Shepherds.
Ulla, weight varies day to day, time of day, before period, after period, and phase of the moon. It is useless to weigh frequently and try to make sense of it. Weigh yourself at the same time every day...morning, naked, before shower or food is a good one. The ideal is to weigh once a week, but I think you would have no patience with that.
Once every day or so is also fine, but instead of trying to figure out what it means, look at the trend...over time are you going down or up? Is there a difference in how your clothing fits? Try to ignore specific numbers as much as you can. You look amazing just as you are now.
Do you have to use the word "tiny" when you refer to mature Swedes? They do love to eat!!! I know...I'm one of them. Tiny would not be used in a description of me!
Sue, love the poem and, as always, your bright spirit and wicked humor. Your boys are amazing, too. You have much to be proud of, Dorothy!
I'll try to post some photos of my current abode. It's fun to see faces and the places they live. Everything becomes more intimate.
Sweet dreams Nancy,
Judie
Oh, Sue...you posted while I was writing away. I LOVE your red jitney! (you have to be old and American to get that one!!!)
-
dear judie,,
evrything in sweden can be really tiny but not the swedish ppl..specially women,,i was shocked when come in here last year ,,i noticed that they r realy fat and dont care that much for wieght issues,,i even had a conversation with some swedish ladies at the charity shop that i always have my weekend cafee in it about that and one of them said that they love to be REAL WOMEN NOT HUNGRY STICKS!!!!
even wen i started to gain wieght and complain soo much about it ,,they used not to pay me any attention wen it comes to that point,,i asked for a single appointment with a specialist dietition but they told me am not covered for that and they just do it for free for the patients who lose weight,,,
even in the gym ,,i used to take my trainer as my example,,but i cant do that here for most of the activities the trainer is not slim ,,she can be mucular, lil filled and so far away from wat i want to look like,,the k-balance lady is really overweight..the spinning lady is lilfilled and muscular like a man..the only really nice one with very beautifull wieght is the step2 trainer which is really hard for me and undoable at all for me so i cant attend her class,,,
wow sue ,,ur house looks realy beautifull,,
i couldnt go out to take pix for the building but i will tomorrow,,
now i will just invite my sisters in my lil living room and my lil kitchen wer i love to sit in the mornnings..
i hope u all have a nice time..
ps,,this post took about 1hr as i took a bath in the middle of it..
much love

Oh Wow, all these wonderful photos! I must learn how to resize before photobucket, I can do the rest? Any help. I can get the photos to photobucket and on here, but they are tiny. I know I must re-size BEFORE photobucket, but how?
Now, Ulla, I love your house. Oh Sue, your house looks so much like the one we stayed in in Dublin! Amazing. We traded houses with an Irish family for 3 weeks.
AE, I love the photo of the dogs and UB. Now, Dusty, the Whippet, sleeps UNDER the covers, so no complaining about dirt, hahaha, the kitty, Cleo sleeps on a pillow just over my head, she is high there and feels safe, I think.
I will try and figure out how to get pix on here that are not teeny.
Love you all, Shirlann

Glad you liked the pictures, its small but its home. I have a rose bush on obe side of the front door and a butterfly bush on the other - neither have bloomed yet. The tree to the right I planted about 8yrs ago - it was about 6 inches high back then.
I'm going to catch hell from UB for posting that picture -
Sue - your place is great!! It looks like it belongs in the US. We have houses here that are very similiar. Love your Voom Voom. And that pic of you as a child - you looked like the cat that swallowed the canary!LOL. The other one is fab- that smile is infectoius.
Ulla - your place is beautiful - I love the red & white kitchen - red is getting more popular here as well.
Judy - I have a bloodhound and a Cheasepeake Bay Retrivier. That is exactly where they sleep at night - thank God I have a king size bed!!!
Nancy - sorry to hear the s/e's have kicked in. They just suck. Hang in there - they don't last forever.
AE

OK, Shirlann and anyone else who wants to know...
Photobucket:
Go to Photobucket. Under "Upload Images & Video" where it says "use our faster bulk uploader" click on the words "bulk uploader"
When the uploader opens, at the bottom of the colored rectangle where pictures go when you select them, you will see, in tiny letters, the word "options".
Click on that.
Choose the size you want. I use "15" screen". It's a nice large, but not huge, size.
You do not have to resize before Photobucket...the uploader does all the work.
Now get busy, Shirl!!!

OK, everybody. I hunted, but don't have a photo of the house. I went outside, but can't get a proper angle. If anyone wants a tour of the inside, send me a pm and I'll give you the link and password to the photos. My son doesn't want them posted publicly. It really is an interesting, lovely home. It's just not my home...at least not yet. I'm trying.
Yes, Ulla, I assumed that Swedish women were "plump" to put it nicely.
I would fit right in over there.
About where I live...not at home, or what was my home. It is my son's house and is still unfinished. I am probably the most impoverished member of this group and am overwhelmed. While I can admire and appreciate the beauty of this house, my heart yearns for Ulla's bright, cozy space. Maybe it is once again the Swedish side of my nature.
What a gorgeous day in Seattle!!!
