Mel...when you write to Oprah, you can tell her all about the yellow brick road and our journey to OZ..and how "our" very own Dorothy brought us all together! She would be crazy not to do a show with that wonderful story!! Love it!
I need to take a new picture of Oliver with his haircut and post it tonight. Love to all of you ladies. It's dreary and raining here...but that's ok..because I have sunshine in my heart this morning, because of all of you!!! Thank You!!!

Ulla...you are such a loving wonderful lady!! Cry sweetie, my dear mother used to always say, tears are cleansing. I believe that, we need to shed those tears, happy or sad, because they release our emotions. I think you are probably hormonal, and your body is getting back to the usual monthly hormone problems..lots of emotional feelings. So cry dear Ulla...shed those tears if you need too!
I am here for you and I love you! I will check back when I can.

Well, Shirlann, I'm with you...no later than ten years ago. What a stunning bunch of women!!!!
I'm sorry I missed out on last night, but just have to submit my photos anyway.
So here's me with all my children ten years ago. I don't have a more recent one of the whole gang. The little guy is the one in college now. I started turning gray as a teenager, and so did my eldest son. He's 34 in this photo.
More recently, me with my son on his Senior Prom night. I later cut my hair very short in anticipation of chemo, which I ended up not having. But I like it short now. It's not a good photo of him, but I love the outfit!
Today is his 19th birthday and he's in Walla Walla and I'm in Seattle. It's out first birthday apart. My baby boy is all grown up!
I'd do the grandkids, but there are eight of them. Better quit while I'm ahead.
Love,
Judie

Hi Sistas! Just checking in real quick. Hi Ulla , Lisa , and Judie! Judie , yes , we missed you last night. But thanks for posting the pics today. You really have a beautiful family. I love the hair color of your daughter behind you. I wish I could wear mine that light. I love red. You are simply lovely. Happy birthday to your son. Sorry you can't be with him on his special day. Love to see the grand babies too! xxxx Mel
Oh Lisa , I am eating a low-fat , no fat diet. Its what I followed before when I lost a bunch of weight. Its really just eating smart. But I do have to work on my portion size. Like alot of americans , I have gotten use to "super-size me". And thats just what I did , super sized me!lolxxxx
-
oops! Sorry Jane , I past up your post! Glad you liked our pics. How about posting some of yours? I'll wisper , cause you are fast asleep right now. I always forget about the time differences! Sweet dreams sister.xxxx Mel

Good morning lovely ladies! Thanks for last night (before we were so rudely interrupted). I had posted too right when it went down.
What a great idea, Mel! Please do write to Oprah! She'd be crazy (or her producers would) to pass up such a heartwarming story as ours. There would be bc survivors blubbering all over the country, watching us all meet for the first time!
Judie, you're beautiful! I love your hair! Some people just look so good with gray hair--I however, do NOT! What a gorgeous family you have. Thanks for sharing the pics.
My friend Debbie, from Australia, sent me the following in an e-mail. It just cracked me up, so I had to share since Mother's Day is approaching. I'm sure you'll all get a kick out of it.
WHY GOD MADE MUMS
Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:
Why did God make mothers?
1.. She's the only one who knows where the sticky tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.
How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mum just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.
What ingredients are mothers made of ?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.
Why did God give you your mother and not some other Mum?
1. We're related.
2.. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's Mums like me.
What kind of little girl was your Mum?
1. My Mum has always been my Mum and none of that other stuff
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.
What did Mum need to know about Dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?
Why did your Mum marry your Dad?
1.. My Dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mum eats a lot..
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My Grandma says that Mum didn't have her thinking cap on.
Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mum doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2.. Mum. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mum is, but only because she has a lot more to do than Dad.
What's the difference between Mums & Dads?
1. Mums work at work and work at home and Dads just go to work at work.
2. Mums know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but Mums have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Mums have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your Mum do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.
What would it take to make your Mum perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.
If you could change one thing about your Mum, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my Mum smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.
WHEN YOU STOP LAUGHING --
SEND IT ON TO OTHER MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS, AUNTS
and anyone else who has anything to do with kids or just needs a good laugh!!!Have a great day everyone! Rest well sweet Jane.
Hugs,
Karen

Oh Karen , thanks for sharing that. Its so cute and funny. I loved the answer for What are moms made of? Everything nice and a dab of mean.
Oh , I am so sad. I love to watch the Kentucky Derby. But the horse I was rooting for , ended in second place , but went down , broke both her front legs and had to be killed! First Barbro , now this. I don't think I like horse racing anymore.

Hi everyone,
It's been a lazy morning here - lots of cups of tea, sitting in the sun on my back verandah with dh...but I must get started and get some things done now. Hope you are all enjoying some relaxing moments.
Ulla, I hope you have a soothing sleep and wake up refreshed. I agree with Lisa - tears do help to let your emotions flow out and you need to be cleansed from all the stress, heartache and pain of the last few months. Lots of love to you, sweet girl.
Sue - are you working all weekend? When is your next day off? Hope you are sleeping ok and having some happy moments.
Karen - I loved those comments from children - so sweet and funny. "Mums know how to talk to teachers without scaring them"! I did laugh over that! And "Mothers don't do spare time"! Priceless!
Is it Mothers Day next Sunday (11th) in the US?
Judie - I love your pics. You look great with grey hair and your kids are lovely. Photos are so precious - first thing I would save after people and pets in a house fire!
Hi Mel! I know what you mean about the time difference. I have to stop and think too - even with the seasons! I sometimes stop and think - "Are we headed into winter or spring"? It's partly because of all the contacts I have overseas and also, at this time of the year, the temperatures are similar in the northern and southern hemispheres in many places. I think that it's going to be 21C in London and Toronto today and that's what it will be here too. I've got a 'personal world clock' on my desktop so I just click on it if I want to see the times in the places where I have friends or family.
Hi AE & UB - hope UB is feeling a bit better.
I must away and do some chores.
Love to everybody and please do something that makes you feel happy this weekend. For some reason a saying just popped into my mind "Hyacinths to feed the soul". I don't know where that came from but I like the sound of it.
Hugs,
Jane xxxx

OK Mel, you asked for it - I think I posted this all ready - the 2 of us at the finish line last August at the Livestrong Challenge - my face was scrunched because I was crying!!! The had a special survivor lane and everyone was handed a yellow rose!!
Don't know why it posted twice.
AE
-
Thanks AE. I'm not sure I remember the pic , but then again you're dealing with a lot of "chemo brain" individuals!lol You have a very handsome hubby. You are lovely as ever. I'm glad they did the event in yellow instead of pink. I don't know if the event was just bc , but its more refeshing to see yellow. Its such a uplifting color.xxxx Mel

Good Morning ladies...
It is bright and sunny here this morning finally...yesterday wasnt too bad but it was only about 65 and overcast.
I spent the day with my mom and a girlfriend....the next town over had their annual yard sale day so we spent the day wondering and looking for treasures...I was good and didnt buy much but I did find a beautiful crystal cobalt blue bud vase for my collection...I LOVE cobalt blue!!!!
Then we came back to the town I live and went to lunch at the local brew pub...that was interesting...mom had never had that type of brewed beer and didnt realize how strong it is...we only had one, but she was tipsy!!!! We had a very nice day...
Then my daugther and her 3 little ones came to stay the night with me so the kids and I have been cuddling this morning and playing games on the play station...
Hope everyone has a lovely day, Im going to spend some time in my flower gardens as I did buy some more flowers to plant yesterday...
Hugs
Jule
-
Oh , duh , you did say it was "Livestrong" event. sorry.
still half asleep.
-
Mornin' Jule. Sounds like you are having a lovely weekend filled with your loved ones. Morning cuddles are sooo nice. Have a relaxing time in your flower garden.xxxx Mel
-
Morning Mel.
Yes it has been a wonderful weekend...I so love to cuddle when the kids are here.
I bought some creeping Phlox in several colors yesterday as I have decided I want to plant ground cover benneth my roses, 1) to help keep moister in the ground, 2) to help keep weeds down and 3) because that will put color in the beds for the entire season.
Im on a search for other ground covers that bloom so am sure I will be back buying plants again later this afternoon...
As you can see I really enjoy my flowers...I have 3 rose beds that have about 45 roses between them.
Jule

Thanks, Mel - Here is one - pre bootface - UB's 50th surprise party - I think I posted this one all ready too -notice the difference in my hair
