veggy - hope everything is alright with your heart and that the monitoring is just a routine checkup !!
purple - hope all is ok on the hill and that winter is not being to hard on you guys !
-
The monitor came off this morning. Those things are very stick and painful as they are being ripped off. The nurse showed no mercy. I was told I might have to wait until Wednesday for the results. I despise waiting.
-
jenni, winter is always tough on the hill..
veggy what beautiful squares.. thanks

I got my results from the heart monitor today... normal.
I also started another box of squares. I need more yarn. Any color(s) you need?

Veggy,
Very good news! Congratulations!
Working on my second box of squares. I'm caught in the knitting mode - can't seem to stop! I should be able to send it off after Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all you knitters and crocheters. So glad I found this thread. Fun to get crafty again after a few years, plus meet new friends!

I ran out of yarn.
I am going through yarn withdrawl. I had an idea yesterday. I thought maybe I could put up a poster at the library asking people for their unwanted yarn. I told the librarian about this group and she said it was okay. I am kinda excited about it.
-
Hi kids,
I'm working on hugs as quickly as possible. The holiday's tend to slow us down a bit though so be patient with us. I've received boxes of gorgeous squares and I again want to thank every one of you for helping us with this project!
Off to crochet!
Merry Christmas!
-
Veggy .. great idea about the yarn!
-
I'm tyring to create a poster to hang at the library. My creativity level is low. ARGH!

Hi, Everyone! Just popping in to say "hi" and that my squares have kind of gotten put on the back burner while I work on Christmas gifts. Hopefully, I'll be back with you in a few weeks.
Love and hugs to all of you!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I bought more yarn. I'm ready to crochet! Watch out!!
-
A late Merry Christmas to one and all.
The holiday rush has definitely put crochet on the back burner for a while. I do have an afghan made, just need to wash, dry and mail it! I had to pick up the yarn, crochet needles, etc as my 10 month old grandson is home for the holidays and he is crawling all over the downstairs and walking around the furniture.
If anyone needs yarn, please let me know as I can send some your way!
Thanks everyone!

I bought some yarn yesterday at AC Moore, the 1 lb unlabeled and with my half off coupon, I paid 2.50 for it. I think that was a good buy, I was looking for something really soft, but after I got it home I realized it was sport weight so I am doubling it to get a nice square out of the yarn. I may use part of it for a granny ripple scarf for myself. I was actually looking for my crochet chemo cap pattern to make for a friend and found the granny ripple scarf pattern I got several years ago and never bought the yarn to make it. I crocheted enough snowflakes for a blizzard, I want to do something else.

Happy New Year everyone!
I've been knitting like crazy and have 35 hugs, which I'll mail tomorrow. I might take a break now, since there are definitely other things around here I should be doing, like putting away my Christmas stuff and cleaning out the basement, ha, ha! But, in a few weeks I'll be at it again.

Hi, Everyone ~
Last night I was finally able to get started back on squares, and I'm so glad about that. I do want to show you what I made for my niece for Christmas.Forgive me if I've told this story before...Niece is five years old, and she is enchanted by the squares. When she spends the night with me, she has to sleep with some squares especially the smiley faces. She always wants to take them home (seems they make perfect blankets for stuffed animals, lol!), so I explained our project to her, that the squares are made into bigger blankets. "Oh, PLEASE make me one!" she said.
Her favorite color is green, so here's what I did for her:
The blocks are about 15x13, and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Niece opened the box and said, "Oh, it's that thing I wanted!" hahaha!
Hope everyone is well, and I'll try to get some squares in the mail soon.
Love and hugs to all of you!
-
Artemis,
How adorable! Just love the colors and smiley face! She's so lucky to have you as an aunt!

Artemis - Beautiful afghan! She'll cherish it for a long time.

Oh, so cute. Happy New Year to all. I made a resolution to finish my unfinished cross-stitch projects this year so the first one is getting priority right now - something for sis's birthday in April. I will try to get it finished ASAP so I can get some squares done.
-
I have been crocheting crazy this week, I made 2 chemo caps out of fun fur for 2 friends who are undergoing chemo and figured out how to use the lighter weight yarn I bought last month to make a nice square (popcorn stitch). I also have 9 more squares that I made before Christmas ready to send off when I run out of yarn. Since I am not working now I have plenty of time on my hands and don't want to just sit around. No quilts in the works right now and yarn is so much cheaper than fabric.

I have 22 squares made. I havre to find a bigger box to send them out.
-
Wow, the holidays are now over and I think I will be able to get the house back to normal now that the visiting families have returned to their home.
Does anyone need yarn? I do have some that I can mail
-
Wow, the holidays are now over and I think I will be able to tunnel out from under all the "mess" because we had so many family members staying with us.
Does anyone need yarn? If so, please send me a PM.
I will lay out a hugaghan and begin working on the again. I had to move all the crochet supplies upstairs and need to "find" all my needles, etc. I should have made a list of places I "stored" everything when I was picking up before the grandson visited.
Thank you!!!! My goal for next year will be to make more hugaghans!!!!
Hugs, hugs, and more hugs
