TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Good morning, all. Have not heard from daughter since my last post. Am worried, and a little frightened. Hopefully it's nothing. However I'm up and can't sleep. I sure hope she calls soon.
My appts went well yesterday. I see the PA at my onc's, and she's wonderful. Said that I look fabulous. Now just need to lose some weight. gained 5 more pounds since last doc's appt. I eat when under stress.
Puppy-you are in my prayers.
Cy-glad to hear that you are feeling a little better.
Vicki-get well wishes to Nate. Being sick during summer vacation is the pits.
Liz-sure hope it isn't shingles.
Jankay-hope today is a better day for you.
Well, that's all my brain can remember for now.
Hugs, healing and prayers for all.
Laura -
Good morning everyone, just popping in to say and HI to all and am going back to read. Looks like Peter, Nicki, Laura, Vickie and Janky bet me up this morning.
-
Good morning CG's and Peter.
Hope everyone waas able to get a good night sleep. It is 83 degree and muggy here already...yikes. The goal for today is to stay cool.
Vickie - I hope Nate is feeling better today. Poor little guy. I sure hope it's only a 24 hour bug and misses you.
Nickie - interesting about the fatigue. I also thought it would go away after treatment but was surprise to see how long it lingers on.
Sherloc - healthcare is so complicated these today. Doctors have lost their bedside manners and all they think about is making a buck. That coupled with insurance companies who only care about their bottom line and we have a very poor healthcare systemm. Just yesterday I received my new health insurance card and it turns out HR enrolled me in an HMO with a PCP I have never heard off. I don't think so! I'm going to investigate what happened today cause I surely don't want to be in an HMO.
Liz - I hear shingles are very painful. Are you feeling any pain?
Puppy and Mena - You are both in my thoughts and prayers. Hope this day finds you without pain.
Oh BTW, today is my 13th wedding anniversary. Wow, time has gone by so fast. I am so blessed to have found this wonderful man.
OK, I should be out the door by now. Have a great day everyone. BBL
Love, -
Laura: Hope you hear from your daughter soon. I always hate that kind of worry.
Good Morning Marsha.
Odalys: Gonna be hot and humid here too. I will be driving all about - walking in and out of air conditioning. So Im hoping to survive the day. What I liked about the article is that it was teaching nurses to be aware of this fatigue. I might even turn this article into a CEU presentation. It was a good one for sure.
Hitting the shower. See ya later.

I only read back a ittle and wanted to make a comment about doctors. Apparently I am not the only one who is tired of having to be my own doctor! My pcp put me on an SSRI when I was first dx'd b/c he assumed I would be depressed. OK so I didn't argue and took the thing. Now my onc has me on the tamoxifen so being the diligent soul that I am, I googled SSRI and tamoxifen and what do I find? Plain as day? The SSRI prevents the tamox from converting the way it should to work against the estrogen. When I saw my pcp last week, he is going over everything, mentioned the tamox and moved on to something else. I said, shouldn't I come off that SSRI? He looks at me puzzled, I explain, he leaves the room, comes back and says yes, the tamox trumps the SSRI! HELLO I KNOW THAT.
Happy anniversary Odalys, hope you have something wonderful planned with DH today!!
Love, Marsha -
Well Good Morgan CG's (Circle Girls AND Guys, Peter)...I'm freaking exhausted. I actually went back and read nine pages in an effort to get somewhat caught up. Of course, I never made it to bed. Now, I didn't take notes, so I didn't remember everything...but some things surely stood out...
Dear, dear Colleen...I had thought my Deliverance Wagon was retired. I see a need to celebrate the grand opening of the New and Improved Deliverance Wagon for Tim! I don't like him. And the ring? And those circumstances? Honey, have you a need for cash? Of course you do! You owe him nothing. You owe yourself anything you want with whatever the cash from that ring will buy you. Go for it! Send Tim to me. Bring dueling banjos and tequila (and salt and lemon).
Of course this is what I remember best from the last nine pages, what with my history...I'm sorry you have to grieve this loser Colleen. I really am. But even if you asked Miss Manners, she'd tell you that etiquette dictates that you do not have to return that ring.
Jaz...when I first saw FOS I thought it was something like DOS...but I figured out FF pretty quickly! First I ruled out flying Fig Newton, of course, as there was no "N" hahahaha....
Does anybody have Amy's home addy? Today is her Dad's funeral, but I'd like to send something to her home if at all possible.
Liz, I'm so sorry you have shingles. My uncle had them and he was in so much pain and he looked like he walked through a fire. Geesh I hope you don't have a case like that! And is that really how you spell petechia?
OH! Where is this "clique" thread? I'd like to check that out. Somebody send me directions. I wanna be a cheerleader, too.
And why on God's good Earth did Marsha get a nasty PM? Marsha, you do know that you are supposed to cut & paste them and send them to the moderators, right? Yep. Don't respond. Just c, p, and send to M & T. Were you having fun and somebody just couldn't stand it?
Tgirl OMG you lost your job? What happened? I know you weren't exactly thrilled with that job, but now you're out of work and you can't be thrilled about that either. Unless, of course, you want to come up north for a day or two. We can hang at the lake! I'm sorry. I know it sucks to have to look for another job. Call me. Let me know what happened.
How is Gina doing? Is she still struggling with her tx? I need her home addy, too. Could someone pm that to me also?
Hey Odalys, have you by any chance checked out the new Bravo reality series "Hey Paula?" hahahaha Anyone? Talk about true confessions. I must be punch drunk to be admitting to this...Well it's just that I miss American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.
Oh! My house sold. The closing is August 28th. This is a good thing. I think.
I'll be back later after I get some sleep. Maybe I'll have some news on Debby by then too.
I know I read a heck of a lot more but I can't pull it out of short or long term memory hahahaha...love to all Amy to Z...xo -

Good morning CGs!
JanKay, was the chicken good? I love fried chicken. Thanks for the Hug Certificate and the Maxine joke. I always enjoy your posts!
Vickie, I hope all goes well with getting the new job. That sucks that poor Nate is sick today. Hopefully, you won't get it and he will be good as new by tomorrow.
Liz, the red spots sound like they may be shingles. I had them several years ago and it wasn't fun. I'm also thinking it may be a reaction to something, with all the re-decorating you are doing.
Peter, thanks for the lovely prayer. And I am ROTFLMAOPIMP!!! Did the penis fairy leave him anything under his pillow????
Nicki, I'm glad you're feeling better today. Sometime I react to the heat and humidity and feel like I'm getting a cold, but when I get home, I'm fine. That's probably all it is.
Boo, I'm not a big seafood lover, but that salmon did sound good!
Laura, how long has it been since you heard from your daughter? I hope she calls soon.
Odalys, Happy Anniversary to you!! You are lucky to have found a good man!
Marsha, Drs. prescribe so many meds, they don't think about interactions. My onc prescribed Effexor for me, knowing full well that I drink. I looked it up on the net and they said not to drink when you take it. Well you know I tossed that right in the trash!! I always found that your pharmacist knows more about meds than your Dr.
Cheri, what's up???? How are you today?
Has anyone heard from Tracey/thongs? I hope she is pleasantly moving on and her family problems haven't gotten out of hand.
I'm checking in early since I am shifting into overdrive to get ready for my camping trip. I have to go to BJs and stock up on several items. I was supposed to mow the lawn, but it is raining today. I don't know when it's going to get done, since they are calling for thunderstorms for the rest of the week! BBL -
Morning all. It's July and supposed to rain today - what's up with that? I know that others are experiencing rain but this is California!
Jankay, what happened at PT yesterday? Post a pic of the new do.
Charlene, when I had my bilateral/tram, my sister flew out from New Jersey and stayed in the hospital 24/7 until I was released. She came over every day for two weeks and stayed with me all day. During that time, she rearranged all my cabinets, drawers, pantry, cleaned my house - it was great.
Liz, hope you get that rash taken care of soon.
Shel, good to see you post.
CY, Charlene is right, I'm not a water drinker either. I would drink the Crystal Geyster sparkling waters. I've also discovered Talking Rain and I really like the Crystal Light waters.
Cheri, ewwww, I don't think I want to see a real rat's patootie.
Peter, that was pretty funny first thing in the morning.
Vickie, hope Nate is feeling better soon.
Puppy, sending you extra hugs, prayers, and love.
Laura, hope you hear from your daughter soon.
Mena, I'll PM you with some addresses. Loved the advise for Colleen.
Odalys, happy anniversary.
EachDay, good to see you posting.
Amy, thinking about you today.
There's something on the Today show this morning about a woman battling cancer and fighting her insurance company. Guess I'll tape it.
No boot camp today but my reading time is up and time to hit the shower. Everyone have a good day. Missing many but thinking of you all.
Margaret -
Hi Cherryl.............This one is for you! Pinky is embarrassed that she didn't help you move and that is why she is hiding her eyes. But, she is mortified to find out that she could have helped a sick child! She sends her apology's and says for you to watch your mail box!

I Really do not have time to be here .. but that hasn't stopped me yet! lol Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone.
Peter - it's a Magic carpet ride so I'm sure it can be as big as you want. I'd love to have you along. My PS name is Dennis .. I'll PM you his contact info if you like! hahahaha
Nicki - thank you for the information from that article...I believe there's a lot of truth to that and may be part of my problem! I'm happy to hear you're not feeling so bad today.
Jankay - what a Sweet poem and a LOL funny!
Vickie - Poor Nate! Wishing for a speedy recovery! Oh, of course, you would make a Perfect Glenda!!! That sounds like a party to remember!
Marsha - I had to tell my doctor the Same thing!!! There are some women who don't even metabolize Tamoxifen and there's a blood test for that .. P450-CY2D6. Pop on over to the Hormone Therapy thread and read about it if you're interested. I had the test done and am waiting for the results.
Margaret - Some people wouldn't like others going through there cupboards and rearranging and cleaning, but I say, Go For It! Your sister was awesome to do that!
Dang, no more time!!! Gotta run ladies but thinking of everyone from Amy - Z and wishing all a wonderful day! My sister arrives today .. I'll try and be back tonight if possible.
Love
Charlene -

Happy Wednesday ladies. And Happy Thursday Peter. So here I sit drinking Chai tea. This stuff is supposed to be good for me right. It's just not the same as that lovely first cup of coffee. For the about a week now I have been waking up at 4:30am. How crummy is that. So last night I decided to take an ambien to try to make it till at least 6. Of course stupid me didn't go to bed right away and I fell asleep on the couch. AND MY BUMM HUSBAND LEFT ME THERE! Woke up about 1:30 cause I was cold. Crawled into bed and yep you guessed wide awake at 4:30. Whats up with that. It's not like I'm napping during the day or anything. And I'm not tired so I guess I'm getting enough sleep. But really at 4:30am the bats haven't even come home yet. Spent the last few days going thru disks of old pictures loading up a memory card for my daughter for the fancy schmancy whatever you call it frame. It's been a grand trip down memory lane. Her birthday is next week and I don't even have half the card filled up yet. Still haven't got around to binding the quilt. It will only take an hour or so if I would just sit my behind down and do it. I'm such a procrastinator.
Liz, waiting anxiously to hear what the doctor says. Praying for heat rash or an allergic reaction to something. You can not possibly have shingles two weeks before Pinkstock. That is just not allowed.
Socal, I had to look that up too.
Grover's disease (transient acantholytic dermatosis) is a condition that appears suddenly as itchy red spots on the trunk, most often in older men.
Dang there is a disease name for everything isn't there.
Cherryl, love you too. Glad your nearly box free.
Shel, furniture shopping? what fun. I have no idea what baclofen is but I'm glad it's working for you. Does the Zometa make your joints ache? I started getting the achey joint pain about a week after my ardeia infusion. No fun. Thought I had got rid of that nonsense when I stopped the arimidex. Doc told me to start taking glucosamine. Great 4 more horse pills every day. Pharmacist said it takes several weeks before I'll notice a difference. Sure hope it works.
Cy your peeing blood and they want you to wait two months. O my.August 14th is still to far away in my book. I would call my onc and whine big time... Stupid letter I got yesterday from pulomnary doc said....."You have been referred to the Sonora Pulomnary and Critcal Care Unit for an appt on Sept 4, 2007......Sure hope I'm not critical. Thats just stupid.
I'm very happy to read the pain in your feet is getting better.
Charlene, I have several pics of the quilt in process that I will be posting after Pinkstock. Want it to be a surprise till then.
I didn't go to straight decaf. Took me a month of slowing adding it to regular to wean myself off. I'm gonna miss my coffee. I love coffee. It has always been my drink of choice. But if I'm gonna be spending big bucks on new teeth I can't be doing stupid stuff thats gonna make them ugly. So the coffee had to go. Cigs are next. Just have to get up my nerve. I find it totally amusing that my health has never been reason to quit my bad habits but sparkly new white teeth is. How sad is that. Good Lord I am so vain.
Very glad SO has a smile on his face. Hmmmm maybe I should try that sometime. Hubby is perpetually crabby. Naaaa never mind. He can just be crabby.
My theory on house cleaning is it is impossible to keep a perfect house when you have kids unless you want to make yourself crazy. Now that I have no kidlets at home my house stays pretty tidy for the most part.
Cheri, I love myspace. I can spend hours there hopping from one page to the next.
For anyone that wants it my myspace url is www.myspace.com/sherlocishere
Karen, pics of the quilt will be coming soon. Sure wish you were coming to Pinkstock.
Peter, that baby is just wrong!!! But the joke was a hoot. Nearly spit out my o so good for me herbal tea.
jankay, hahahhahah....Maxine is a hoot.
Vicki, I do hope Nate is feeling better soon. 103 does not sound good. And throwing up to boot. YUCK, poor baby give him a popsicle from me.
Nicki, I read an article a few months ago about cancer treatment related fatigue. Hopefully all the press will make the med community more aware of it.
Speaking of mag articles. Does anyone get Cure? Very interesting article in latest issue about stem cells and cord blood. Often wondered about those companys that advertise about banking your babies cord blood. Article says the likelihood of it doing you or your family any good is slim to none. But the stem cells in there could do much to advance research. But sadly there is a shortage of it because not many women know they can donate it for research. I am wondering with all the thousands of babies born every day why this isn't made more known. Seems like most would donate if they knew about it. Don't hospitals just dispose of the placenta anyway. What a waste.
Pompous Ass indeed. But he is the only one in town. So I'll wait till sept and see what kind of impression he makes. If I don't like him I'll get a referral to UC Davis. Thats where my bone doc is. The one I was sent to here in town was a moron. I'm thinking I might just be about done with allergy season by then too.
Good Morning Marsha. I would say that even if you PCP doesn't know that about the SSRI's, your onc most definately should. Or geez, how about the pharmacist.
Happy Anniversary Odalys. Yikes, I had an HMO once. Never again. HR changed your insurance without your knowledge? I'd be flaming mad. That is such a big no no.
Mena, Mena, Mena....I loe it when you pop in. You always put a smile on my face. I miss our old days in chat. The room is just not the same anymore. I rarely go in there anymore.
Yehaw and Hip Hip Hurrah for your house selling. Congrats.
Good morning EachDay, hope yours is simply fabulous.
Denise, we are gonna give you c&p lessons at Pinkstock so you never have to be invalid again.
Good Luck Socal.
Time for me to go finish the quilt. I'll be back. -
Shokk, I say 3 cheers for the teacher that gets involved with her students outside of the class.
-
Happy Mid-Day All!
Didn't take notes, but does this ever happen to anyone? I'm reading the posts, starting at my last post. As I'm reading, I see people saying feel better to Nicki, and hello to Mena, etc. I've seen no post from Nicki or Mena though. It happens to me a lot, it's like I somehow miss whole pages or something.
Anyway, Mena, I did see your post to me re Tim. I know how things can really resonate with you when you've gone through something similar, so I'm assuming that's the case with you. Well, I did end up responding to his e-mail, and I cc'd a select few people. The thing that was hardest for me is that he did this terrible thing to me and Warren, but because all of "our" friends were really "my" friends, and he's one of those guys that doesn't really have friends, the people who work for him are the closest thing he has to friends (he owns his own company), he's never had to own up to the cowardly and cruel way he just moved out without ever even talking to me about ending our engagement face to face. Because I'm friendly with some of the folks that work for him, I know all he said was, "Colleen and I parted ways" So... I responded to his request for the ring with an e-mail that basically said, "most people would have left it at moving out without telling their fiance of the 10 year old boy who worshipped him" and "you've never taken responsibility for your actions because you've never admitted them to anyone you have to face, including me and Warren" and I cc'd it to the top 3 people in his company (the closest thing he has to friends.) Really bad and wrong of me, because I actually really like them, and it was terrible to make THEM feel awkward (he is their boss and the owner of the company they work for after all!) but it made me feel better and for probably the first time in my adult life I chose ME over someone else!
Whoa!! Sorry about that! Kind of went off on a serious tangent/rant there!!!
Anyway, back to the circle, will catch up better this weekend, but a big feel better to liz, Nate, Nicki, CY (no way you should wait that long for a dr's appt) and shoot, I forget who else now. Prayers and good thoughts for Puppy, thanks Mena (and congrats on the house) and love to everyone else -
Ok I'm back.........last week I my tongue was swollen and cracked and hurt like holy heck........I was having a hard time talking and eating anything......after my oldest child made the crack "oh mom I bet its tongue mets!" I started freaking out....of course she was just messing with me but still.....anyway the younger child came down with it and it turned out to be some kind of weird virus but still.....geez......I hope everyone is having a good morning.......Serloc it amazes me how early you get up and post....of course Margaret and SoCal also get up early and I'm sure Z does too but geez girls.......I tired to get off coffee but I drink 1 cup a day and thats it.......always so good to see Mena post and Shel also.....I love the way Shel educates us concerning our health......its so nice to have the nurses on board.....you too Nicki..........and Robin but she goes awol on us.......where in the heck is that girl??????.......Vickie hope everything goes the way you want it to and hope Nate feels better soon.....hate when the kiddos are sick........brb.........
-
((((Colleen))))you know if we here in the circle could mend your broken heart we would in a second......Tim is not the last man you are ever going to love.......Laura as soon as you hear from your daughter please let us know....I am going to worry with you the rest of the day....Odalys congrat on 13 yrs..........do you mind me asking but is your heritage Cuban........I am eating black bean soup this morning for breakfast.....I just love it....Denise just so you know you will never be "invalid" to us.......ha......ok sweet chicas and chico I am getting ready "fixin to" take my daughter to the dentist to get her teeth cleaned she gets braces next week.......ugh......600.00 dollar down payment....of course ex and I split that but its alot of money for me....see ya'll later gators........
-
Morning All,
Wow, cant get caught up with anything and we leave for Georgia tomorrow.
Amy, sending many good thoughts and hugs your way
Peter, hope you have a good rest!!! Our winters are very mild in the South (may wear a heavy coat once or twice during the winter ..snows every 15-20 years) I think I read that you havent been on the magic carpet ride well, we really need to swing by your place the next trip
Nicki, sure hope you are feeling better. The humidity (which helps mold grow) is an irritant for our sinuses. We actually will have mushrooms growing in our yards when we get rain and high humidity.
Vickie, how is our Nate doing? I sure dont like when they run fever that high, especially when they cant keep anything in their tummy Any word on the new job?
Cheri, where are you? Or did I miss a post
Liz, how are the spots? Does the area hurt or itch? Hopefully you can get an answer from a doctor soon.
CY, can you get an appointment sooner ..we sure dont like you waiting that long for an appointment, especially if you are in pain hugs
Eachday, welcome to you.
Gina, still thinking of you ..sending big hugs your way
Sue/Boo-sounds like a great meal .and really great to have some time off of work.
SoCalLisa .grrrrrrrr ..hate computer problems.
MargaretB .bootcamp .sure do admire your commitment
Jankay, that is a beautiful center-piece for the afghan .Vickie has created an awesome afghan for someone special.
Laura, I sure hope you have heard from your daughter by the time I post this. Those kidlets have no idea how much we worry . We are all here with you. I did read that your appointments went well .that is good news. Emotions do play a big role in weight gain and/or loss. I dont eat when I am stressed and lost 5 pounds when I was at DDs house .
Odalys, Happy, Happy Wedding Anniversary. Sure hope you get to do something special today (or after the work week is over)
Puppy, sending prayers for you sweet sister, we are all holding hands around you
Marsha, between all the docs and prescriptions, I have begun to ask my pharmacist if there are any interactions between all the meds I take
Colleen, hang in there Mena has that Deliverance Tent ready to go I agree, keep the ring a gift is a gift
Mena, I sent you a PM with Gina and Amys address. So good to see you post I also missed the clique" thread .may have to go and check it out
Tgirl, sorry you lost your job ..remember when one door closes, another will open. There WILL be something bigger, and better for you
Jan, not fun cutting grass between the raindrops ..we havent been able to cut our grass for 2 weeks and down South it grows awfully fast.
MB, glad the package arrived safely. They did ship it in a cardboard container-rather than a basket I am also bringing some brochures, with websites to order products from this state.
Charlene, you stay awfully busy
Denise PINKSTOCK!!!!, I am so excited .see you there
Cherryl just a few more boxes to go ..Yippee
Shirley, I buy the glucosamine in chewable tablets .just cant swallow those horse pills.. GNC has the chewable tablets. Somehow Critcal Care Unit and appt on Sept 4 dont go together Thats too far away
Awe Shel, I wish you werent working afternoons try to get some rest
Karen, I did read that your trip was fantastic .cant wait to see the picture
Jaz...I need to go back to read about the FOS, etc. I sure must have missed something
Z, I havent read back very far ..so how are you?
Big-Bad Jake update-he chewed up my DDs stethoscope anyway .Mom to the rescue so she can order a new one .
Hugs from A to Z (only read back a few pages) -
Angel---Ooops. No confusion intended. That's what happens when I type by the seat of my pants! Too lazy (and rushed) to take notes.
Peter--yes, Sam is my grandson. He lives about 75 miles away so I drive down Tuesday nites and do my Gramma bit on Wednesday and then haul myself back home. But he's worth it! The other set of grandkids are 350 miles away so it could be worse! My daughter is a social worker (translation---poor) so I can at least save them some money this way. I'm waiting for him to wake up as we speak.
Vickie---hope Nate just has a 24 hour bug. amazing how high a kids' temp can go, isn't it? If we had a temp of 103 we would be incoherent. Hope you hear about the job soon too.
I might see MB Friday. They are coming here for the Syracuse Nationals (BIG classic and street rod show) and I'm going to try to find them either at the campgrounds or the fairgrounds.
Went to my PCP yesterday and wound up getting an xray of that hurtin' hip. Her comment was, "we like to get ahead of this stuff if you're eventually going to need a hip replacement." I love her to death but why do docs always go to the worst case scenario? She suggested a podiatrist for the bunion too---heck, I just know what shoes to avoid and that's MUCH cheaper! Bad enough I have to go see the cataract dude in a few weeks. Geez, I sound like I'm about 110 judging from that last paragraph. For someone who feels she's in relatively good shape I sound like a mess! Has anyone tried a chiro for stuff like arthritis back/hip pain? Doc favors PT but I'm sick of that after three straight years for the successive frozen shoulders.
Mena---So good to see you again. Don't disappear on us again---I always love your posts. Glad to hear the house sold. It was a wrench when I had to sell the house we raised the kids in but, 10 years down the line, it was a good thing and cut the final string between me and Prince Charmless.
Hope everyone enjoys their day. Hugs and prayers for Puppy.
Jeannie -
Angel---BTW---yes, we found out a LOT of us had named our boobs. And we thought only guys did that! (Name body parts, not name our boobs. Although they may do that too and just don't tell us in the interest of self preservation.) Some of them were pretty funny too!!
Jeannie -
Prince Charmless......ha......Jeannie you are too funny......
