Liz, any chance you could be getting a case of shingles? The way its all on your left side sure sounds like it.

Well pooh, posted this then found out there was another whole page of posts saying shingles. If you can get on valtrex quickly it will nip it in the bud.

    Good evening everyone,
Good night sisters/ good morning Peter.
Hey Iris, I'm nearly box free.
Denise, I would have had this wrapped up long ago if that worthless Pinky had shown up. But, it's her loss. I have a Bear haven in my house and she would have had a ball. Some background. I'm a hospital chaplain at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. I visit patients on the Pediatric Unit and I give each one a teddy bear. I have bears coming out of my ears!!! I was going to introduce Pinky to one of my cute New Zealand bears, but she blew it. (Peter, I don't have a bear from OZ and if you want to remedy that, pm me and I'll give you my address!!!!!! lol
Lots of rain here, shokk, I'm beginning to understand what you were going through these past few weeks.
Liz, hope the rash question is resolved.
Charlene, thinking of you for the exchange.
Jasmine, you are a hoot and just too much sometimes. Stay the way you are. it's great.
Marsha, your play sounds wonderful. I can't offer any advice, since I'm an ethnic Southerner!!!!
Z, what can I say. You have a wonderful talent of saying the right thing at the right time.
Shirley, Madison, Vickie, love you girls.
Nicki, do you ever get down to Rush. I'm also there and if you do go there, pm me and maybe we can get together.

To all of you I have not mentioned by name, I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my heart. All good wishes for a good night and a great day tomorrow.

    love,
    Cherryl

I'll call the doc tomorrow. Whatever it is, I'm going to Pinkstock. It's probably nothing. Thanks for caring and the help. I love you guys!

Jas - I'm hoping that if it is shingles, they'll get me on the valtrex asap. I know the sooner you start, the better off you are.

Socal - I've heard of Grover's Disease. I don't think that's it. There's nothing visible on the skin yet. Just tender and itching.

Maybe I'm allergic to paint/work. LOL I'll let you guys know what she says.

I still haven't caught up and am thinking I may not. I need to just start from here. So hi to everyone new. Nice to meet you.

I need to fold some clothes then off to bed for me. Have a wonderful, relaxing, peaceful night. See ya in the morning.

    Hugs

ok just logging on after a looooong day of zometa, zoladex and genetic counselling (and then furniture shopping and costco)

please forgive me if i'm repeating info here ......... i tried to read back but i'm exhausted!

liz .......... more often than not shingles erupt as a cluster that looks like "baby grapes" and they are most commonly found on a bony prominence on the trunk of the body. in the beginning they usually ooze a bit and itch ...... as they evolve, they will itch and ooze less (till nil) and then the neuropathic pain will set in (which can be quite intense).

shingles are highly contagious during the "oozing" stage FYI, but if the area doesn't present like a raised "cluster of grapes" it's doubtful that you have shingles. if you've had chemo you're at a higher risk for them so get it checked out ASAP ......... my aunt got shingles post chemo on her right flank, and the neuropathic pain she experienced was debilitating for several months!

zovirax tabs by mouth 5 times daily, combined with a topical zovirax cream will work wonders if this does turn out to be shingles ........ but i hope you just have a "little rash" lol!

and for all my other friends .......... "hi ya'll" ...... i have no idea who the hell the buffalo poop person was/is but i'm surely glad he/she/it is gone .......... because i personally don't give a RAT'S ASS nor do i give a 'FF'!!!!!!

    (laughing loudly at myself!)

baclofen is my new best friend ......... i'm confident that since this cleared up my shoulder pain (but upset the hell out of my stomach) that i do not have further bone mets (which has been my focus for a few weeks)

hell, i'll take the upset stomach over the shoulder pain anyday of the week!!!!!

i'm on afternoons from tomorrow till 'forever' so i'll ttyl!

i wish you all only the very best of the best that life has to offer!

    Subject: FW: Maxine

Man goes into a cocktail lounge and approaches Maxine sitting by herself.

Man: "May I buy you a cocktail?"

Maxine: "No thank you, alcohol is bad for my legs."

Man: "Sorry to hear that. Do they swell?"

    Maxine: "No, they spread."

Good morning Peter and Jankay...yup...I'm up early. Nate is really sick. Throwing up, fever of 103.3...darn. Not sure what's going on with him as he rarely gets sick. Hopefully its a 24 hour bug but I'm calling the doctors anyway to make sure.
Puppy needs lotsa prayers and hugs right now so could everyone remember her in their posts and send her some love. She's scared (naturally)and really worried about "what's next".
    Puppy...

Peter and Jankay are cracking me up already this morning...good ones! Isn't it nearly bedtime Peter.

Karen...hello...seems I've missed you a feel times lately...hugs to ya. I would rather stay home for fun than for a sick boy too. I worry to much when he's sick. I hate it when they are sick.

Liz...call the doctor...just to be on the safe side. Hopefully its just a heat rash or something equally innocent. Hugs to ya...

CY...oh...so glad its working and you are feeling a bit better. In my thoughts and prayers always.

Charlene...A Glenda dress is "Glenda the Good Witch" for the Wizard of OZ. We had a cyber party one weekend and went to Oz to see the wizard (we have some strange cyber parties...what can I say...its Cheri's blew rinks LOL). Anyhoo...I was Glenda the good witch for the weekend. Granting everyones wishes.

    Nate needs me...brb
    Love to all

Good Morning Everyone: Well Im thinking I was having an allergic reaction to something with the humidty. But I woke up this morning after being in air conditioning and I dont feel so bad. Maybe its not a cold after all.

I get a nursing magazine called nursing spectrum. There was a great article in there about survivor and cancer-related fatigue.

"Cancer patient undergoing treatment typically expect to experience fatigue until their treatment ends. Patients also expect to enjoy renewed energy after their treatment end. Unfortunately, this often is not the case for many survivors."

"Over 1/3 of cancer survivors report disruptive fatigue, months or even years after their treatment ends."

They define survivor fatigue as "a distressing persistent, subjective sense of tiredness or exhaustion that is not related to recent activities and it interferes with usual functioning." Anyways it was a pretty good article and it was telling nurses to be more aware and try to identify this in their patients. It went on to say, its not nearly being monitored enough.

Cheri: Hahahahahahah "Im burning Up" what a way to wake up this morning. I was still sleepy eyed and laughing my head off in this quiet house. At one point last night, I woke up and my hair and pillow were drenched!!

Sherloc: I would be upset if I got a letter from a new doctor. Whats wrong with a simple telephone call. And hmmmm, Im thinking by September your allergies might be gone. I put pulmonary specialists in the same catergory of orthopedic surgeons. They are pompous assess.

Liz: Well I have red spots all over my stomach. Silly me, figured they are "liver or old age" spots. But mine are not painful. I agree with what others have said, it does sound like it might be shingles, especially cause of the pain along the nerve which is typically associated with shingles.

EachDay: What a great explanation of what shingles is.

Sue/Boo: That grilled salmon sounded so good.

SoCal: it always amazes me when Im stumped over a medical term. I had to look up Grovers Disease.

Shel: I hated afternoon shift. Could never go right to bed after work and then would sleep late. Seemed like all I was doing was working and sleepig.

CY: If I were you I would call your onc and ask him to pull strings to get you into the urologist sooner. Pain and blood in the urine is not something that should wait 2 months.

MargaretB: No boot camp til Friday? Hmmmm sounds like your looking forward to it.

SoCal: I absolutely hate computer problems. When I first came on these boards I remember I had a similiar problem and couldnt chat. But I dont remember how we fixed it.

Karen: Always good to see you pop in and say hello. With me back working regular hours it seems like I miss many when I do get to post.

Peter: Its so weird that we have opposite times and opposite Seasons. So you will be enjoying summer, while we will be having Winter. Winters are terrible in the Chicago area. Loved your joke btw.

Jankay: Thanks for the funny. I laughed out loud at the last one. So is today the day you get your hair cut?

Vickie: Man, I always hate it when children get sick. Hopefully its the 24 hours thingy. You certainly were a sunshine sister this morning.

Puppy: Sending some love your way. You are our shining star.

    image

Ok! I will check back later. Time to go. Have a great day.

    Nicki
