Won't be going to Pinkstock (major bummers)---wedding in Baltimore. Long story but friend of my daughter's who majorly messed up while they were teaching together in Thailand and I helped get her back home and to safety. -
That's okay Jeannie...Hope you have a wonderful time in Baltimore and a safe trip!
-
One last post before heading off to bed tonight. Not much sleep last night and totally exhausted as it is...I did get my referral for the thyroid testing today while I had Nate at the docs instead of waiting till tomorrow and missing another day of work. Nothing more than a stupid piece of paper but oh well...
To those of you with Yahoo IM...I will be on tomorrow and since Quickbooks is soooo slow I will have time to chat a bit and I'll fix my Yahoo here at home by the weekend.
This is for all of you and pretty much describes how I felt when I came here and how I feel now.
I am swimming in a long dark tunnel.
Everything is pitch black and I can't see anything.
You hold my hand, and my eyes open up to the world.
I see light instead of the long dark tunnel in which I used to live in.
You showed me the world through your eyes and I learned.
I learned to look at evey little creature and every little flower.
I learned not to take anything for granted, not even the little things that may seem so small.
I learned to spend my time on this earth well.
I learned to look through other's eyes.
To be happy.
strong.
and most of all to follow my heart, wherever it may lead me.
Thank you for giving me my life back.
Thank each and every one of you for being my best friends. I love you all dearly and would do anything I possibly could for any one of you ...just say the word.
To all I wish a peaceful, quiet, happy night. I hope we wake in the morning with a smile on our faces and never forget to -
Amy, hope you are doing ok. HUGS!!

Good evening, Circle Friends. Hope everyone had a good day today. I had to commute into work this morning for some mandatory training (bummer) but the good news is that it was only half a day so I got to come home earlier than I expected (yahoo!).
Karoline -- welcome to the circle!
Nicki -- hi to you. Sounds like you are getting back into the work groove. I have one of those coffee makers with a timer but I never use it. Maybe I'll give it a shot this week. I was thinking that you must have some type of recurring sinus infection rather than a cold but it seems you have figured things out. Hope you are feeling much better.
Jankay -- haven't seen anything from you today or did I miss it? How did your day go? Well, there you are with your cute little jokes. What a blessing you are to us. You make us smile.
Cheri -- going to get the morning jokes started back again. I have a secret stash.
Sherloc -- the first week I was diagnosed, I didn't plan my funeral. I planned how I was going to spend all of my 401k and have some fun before I passed. I guess its a good thing that I didn't rush into that plan right away.
Liz -- I'm so glad its probably not shingles. And glad that your doctor has decided to be proactive just in case. I was personally pulling for the 'allergic to work' syndrome.
Boo -- hey boo. The grilled salmon sounded so good. Someone mentioned a potato soup recipe and that sounded good too. Maybe they can post that recipe again.
EachDay -- welcome to the circle too. I had a round with shingles last year too. I was lucky enough to get on the antivirals so I got to skip the pain. Just had the rash for about 6 weeks.
Peter -- good morning to you. Hope you have a lovely day. I sure hope you are busy making roof repairs. You don't want to go through that again if it rains.
Hi Denise, Lisa (love the picture of the fireworks)
Cherryl -- thank you for the kind words. If I can make someone laugh through this horrible disease then I'm glad.
Cy -- so glad the glutamine is helping you.
Angel42 -- you're welcome. Sorry that one of your post was deleted. I thought it was rather funny myself but I wouldn't let it spoil our fun. As far as the house cleaning, maybe you aren't so much a procrastinator as you have just re-prioritized your life and found that some things just aren't so important in the big scheme of things. A while back someone posted an article from Erma Bombeck that she wrote before she died about what she would change. I wish I had kept a copy. Maybe someone can repost it here.
Laura -- any word on your daughter yet?
Marsha -- hi. I'm not sure I read Shokk's post correctly but she seemed to be saying that you are perfect for the part of the town floozy!!! What's up with that??
Odalys -- wow! They put you in a healthplan that you didn't sign up for? It sounds like what the phone companies used to do called 'slamming'. One month you would get your long distance bill and find that you're long distance company had been changed without your knowledge. I hope you get it straightened out. Do they not realize they are messing with a hospital administrator??
Mena -- I'm so glad to see you posting in the circle. I wouldn't bother with the 'clique' thread. It's just the same ole same ole. Been there done that.
Puppy -- as always you are in our prayers.
Adrionna -- love love love the pink bunny. Too cute!
Purple -- howdy!
Shokk -- always love reading your post! I'm a big Harry Potter fan too. I can't wait for the last book to come out this week. Boy, a new book from Janet Evanovich, a book from Vickie, and the new Harry Potter. It seems to be feast or famine when it comes to reading material for me. Plenty to read on the plane! I've never heard of a weird tongue virus...are you sure it wasn't thrush?
Shirley -- I can't wait to see the quilt. You've put so much work into it!
Colleen -- the 'missing post' thing happens to me too. I read stuff in others post and then spend about an hour trying to backtrack and see how I missed this stuff.
Madison -- have a safe and fun trip to Georgia.
Jeannie -- hi and nice to see you posting.
Suz -- I don't mind vegetarian dishes but I'm afraid I have to draw the line at goat cheese.
Sheri -- I'm glad you will have more time to post in the circle! If you want to email me about the software program, I will be happy to work with you on drafting up a plan and requirements. It sounds like a fun project.
Vickie -- glad its just a virus/bug and I hope Nate feels better soon. Any more news on the job front? Thanks for letting us know about your yahoo...we thought you was mad at us!
Susan -- this is really odd but yesterday I saw your new avatar just fine but today it is back to your previous one. Isn't that strange? But both are lovely. Good luck on your job interview.
Well, I sure wish our fabulous Ms Z would check in and RobinTn too. I'm really worried about Robin.
Also, where is Anne and Betty? I know Iris is temporarily away for a bit.
Well goodnight to all from A to Z.
Hugs! -
Okay...I'm officially freaking out now...Susan's new avatar is back. This is the goofiest board software I've ever seen!
-
Uh oh Jassy...maybe your computer is possessed or demented. Looks ok from where I am. I could never be mad at you gals...your my family (and guy). I threw all but one of my old family away remember...I need my new family!
-
Demented! For some reason, I really like that! Too funny!
-
OMG Peter...I forgot all about the pics LOL...I'm so glad you're such an easy going brother...my "real" brother would have locked me in the bathroom or something equally evil for teasing him! He has no sense of humor...which actually used to make me tease him more LOL.
Jas has a demented computer heehee!
Ok...I am really going to bed now!!
Love and hugs all the way around
Vickie -
Jasmine,
Maybe your comuoter is really a "dementor" from Harry Potter!!!!!! -
Cherryl, that is exactly what it reminded me of! Maybe there is a bogart residing in it too.
-
hey Cherryl...sweet dreams!
-
Be careful, Jaz!!!!! Strange things are happening in both worlds -- Wizards and Muggles!!!!!
Love,
Minerva McGonagall (aka Cherryl) -
the demented smiley livin in Jassy's computer
-
Sweet dreams to you too, Vickie. Hope Nate is doing better. Thinking of you both.
Cherryl -
Words to live by..
If I Had My Life To Live Over
by Erma Bombeck
The following was written by the late Erma Bombeck
after she found out that she had cancer.
If I had my life to live over, I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television - and more while watching life.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."
There would have been more "I love you's".. More "I'm sorrys" ...
But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it ... live it...and never give it back.

I really need to learn that I can not go a day or two without checking in...I have so much to go back and read!
Sweet dreams to all, and good morning to Peter!
Be back after I catch up.
Love you all,
Sue -
Oh that is just hilarious! I'm going to have to snag that one for sure.
-
I love that! Erma was a wise woman, and maybe we are all now too!
Peter- sweet dreams!
The rest of us going to Pinkstock - I already am having sleepless nights over what to pack, my basket, my lil gifts that have not yet arrived... so much to do- Oh and then, there is everything that needs to be done before the end of the month at work, I should have planned one more day for work, but there is no way I would miss Niagra Falls! -
She's home!! Thanks for all your prayers and concern. It really helped me. Her phone died. She's really sorry about the worry she caused. Don't know what the BF status is yet. She's 21 and a big girl now, but I'm feeling very protective of her.
Going to read some more posts, and maybe will post more later. If not, good night and sweet dreams.
Hugs, healing, and prayers for all.
Laura -
Ok, Im back, had a nice dinner at Olive Garden with DH and DS. We love pasta.
I cant believe we have been married for 13 years and together 15. Would you believe we met at a club? Yes, I saw him across the room looking at me and thought he had the kindest eyes. I finally got the courage and asked him to dance. Yes, conservative me got the nerve to ask a total stranger to dance. He said yes. Sometimes it does pay to take a risk. We dated for two years and then got married on a Cruise Ship.
Marsha I know what you mean about some doctors. Last year I was referred to an endocrinologist for high cholesterol. As it turns out, he did not even know about Femara.
I really dont want to have a PCP. I want to be able to pick and choose my doctors and go to whatever facility I feel will provide the best care.
EachDay welcome to our circle. You will find a lot of support here.
Puppy sending love and prayers your way.
Jankay Nice avatar. Yeah, we finally have a face to go with the name.
Peter love your sense of humor.
Jan thanks. Yes, I got lucky the second time around. My first husband was a real jerk. I think God realized I paid my dues the first time around and decided to reward me this time. Who says second marriages dont work out?
MB I like your suggestion to Colleen of putting the ring on Ebay and for us to bid it up.
Too funny.
Colleen Im in. Just name the price. We got you covered. That rat wont know what hit him.
Charlene I smile every time I read your posts about the things your DD does. Steven also cracks me up sometimes. One day last year he was visiting me in the office and since he was bored, I let him take a book from the shelf. He pulls out an Anatomy and Physiology book. After a while of looking at the pictures, he said very loudly so that is what a vagina looks like! I wanted to laugh so much but instead turned to him and calmly replied yes, that is what a vagina looks like. Kids are so funny.
SoCal, good luck on your computer.
Laura - glad your daughter is home. I guess is true we never stop worrying about our kids.
Okay friends I need to say good night now. I am exhausted and must get to bed. Tomorrow will be one the busiest day of the week.
Take care everyone. Sending love to all from Amy to Z. See you tomorrow morning.
