SLOW here too. Read the last page of this thread, clicked on this next page and had time to dental floss my teeth before it showed up!
-
Still way too slow for me. I've done all I know to change it from my end -- even had a computer tune-up. Still an issue.
Thanks
Jackie
ETA: My apologies.....I had the tune-up, found the slowness still around and posted before my brain actually registered your above explanations mods.....so sorry. Thanks

Illinois,Lady, Thanks for raising this issue again. We are aware of and also dealing with the slowness/lag time. Our tech team is working on the issue and hopefully there will be a fix soon. Hang in there with this. The Mods
-
I will mods. I edited my answer, but maybe you didn't see it. I did a lot of work on my computer ( you know the type of person that almost always blames themselves, well that's me ) so felt like it might not really be me after all. Then wrote the entry before I fully read all the entries. So again, sorry. I'm going to go work on my patience now.....it is lacking.
Thanks so much
Jackie

IllinoisLady, No apology necessary. This has been a very frustrating issue and it helps to have our members lend their voices to these glitches as we continue to communicate with our tech team. The Mods

Wow !!!! That was a fast and marvelous fix. Just going through my favorites at lighting speed. Hope that lasts because I'm in amazement. Sure is making it nice at the moment....no more napping at the computer when I'm at BC. Org.
Many, many thousands of thanks

Always something to gripe about though, huh!!! Did notice today....the font seems much larger than it was or has been for some time. I go up and change it by setting it at 75.....but that is almost too small then. There should be a happy medium somewhere...but it doesn't seem to exist in my settings. Did something get changed there. Guess bigger is better over-all but the other size used was I thought perfect.
Jackie
P.S. Had to scroll down to get the preview and submit buttons up where they could be used. That wasn't happening before.
-
Jackie, Not noticing this change in font size at our end. We can inquire about it. We agree that right now navigating is moving more quickly. Hope it continues. The Mods

Mods, I'm still being logged out each time I move to something else on my IPad and lag time is just plain awful. I know this has been an issue for some time but just letting you know once again.
Chrissy
-
Chrissy, thank you for the update. We're seeing some improvement in the speed loading pages, but intermittently. We'll continue to check with the techs on the lag and log-out issues, and we're sorry it's still happening!
-
Mods - If it's slow for the lovely chrissyb in Australia, then it's an international problem,
because it's really slow here in the USA, too.
In all seriousness, the slowness has been ongoing for a month or more. Some days are a little better than others, but there's always some sort of lag in response time no matter where you go in BCO. I'm using a 64 bit Windows 7 laptop that's fast everywhere else on the internet... so I'd think that the issue has to be on your end somewhere. Thanks!
-
AZ85048, we're really trying to avoid an international incident! It's definitely lagging on our end, and we're looking forward to the return to speed too, for a world of members!
-
Nicely said!
-
Mods, I found the issue with me getting logged out was that the little box that says, remember me, or something similar had become unchecked. I haven't recently installed any updates and didn't manually uncheck the box so don't know what caused that to happen. But since rechecking the box I have stayed logged in. I do wonder if any of the site updates could cause that box to become "unchecked."
-
Hmmm. That is a possibility. I will check in with our tech team. Thanks for alerting us to that!
-
I'm getting logged out and the remember me box is ticked, but at work I don't get logged out - weird
-
Mods,
Must have been a one day flash-in-the-pan. I'm back to slower again. Not as bad as it was but fairly cumbersome again.
Jackie
-
Today I didn't have to log in each time.....thanks Mods...hope it stays.
Lag time seems better......maybe???? Not sure about that issue.
-
Glad to hear that you didn't have to log in again nihini.
-
Today ( for the first time in a few weeks ) I am having to log in again. My lightning speed has disappeared, but it is not as bad as it was.....so hopefully, some work is being done and I will soon be able to thank you for a job well done by the techs.

Hi, mods new Challenge LOL . I do transporter links(my made up word). Putting links in topic boxes to other BCO threads . AnacotesGirl and I just did one between YKYACPW and WARM and Fuzzies. What we need to have happen is that the links flow with the last page . How can that be accomplished.
this may help you understand the need. I posted it on YKYACPW
------------------
YKYACPW--you're inspired LOL. AnacortesGirl and I have created a transporter link in our topic boxes that can transport you by clicking on them to each other. If you look at the topic box here it says
"For more short, fun and uplifting posts, click the following link for some cute pics:
Warm & Fuzzy owls, goats, kitties, dogs, birds, ETC. Pics & Links "
I created the transporter link several years ago. What it does is saves time. Instead of going to "My Favorite topic">>then your Favs list>>finding Warm and fuzzies on your list and clicking, Now you hit "pgup" to topic box click on W&F's and you go directly there.
The intent of W&F's is stated in the topic box.
A further and more important function of both these threads is:
YKYACPW is short & to the point, easy read, funny , ranting, poignant
W&F's is visual, links to visuals & songs, funny, poignant, ranting, easy etc.
Members don't need to think to much to enjoy when then are sick, weak from chemo, or to weak to post, but continue to want to be part of BCO.
Both threads are uplifting. Both threads easier now to access. Hope you get the idea. If you think of another thread that we could add that would help our sisters let AG know soon or PM me and I will contact the thread starter for permission to do the same L&H&P's sassy
-
sas-schatzi, if the original poster of a thread (calling it Thread A for clarity) includes a link to another thread (Thread
in the first post, that link will be clickable to go to the second thread (Thread
, just as you have done. The page of Thread B the member goes to will be determined by where they were when they last visited the thread, or if there's a specific page or post number in the URL. There isn't a way to force someone who clicks on the link to automatically go to the current last post in the thread.• The Mods
-
What we are trying to do is make life easy by creating a link between two threads.
The ideal is to allow the linkage to go to the current page of the topic thread. Rather than the link being static it flows with the current page.
If you go through all the steps to change threads as we do now, you go to the last page of a thread. OR the last place where you visited a thread.
What we'd like our links to do is to automatically go to the last page of the thread. If that can be accomplished that would be very nice. If it can't, so be it. I found it strange in your description that you used the word force. Easy to me does not equate to force.
-
sas-schatzi, we do understand what you want to do, but as we described above, the thread the member goes to is determined by where they were when they last visited the thread, or if there's a specific page or post number in the URL. If a page or post number isn't specified, and a member hasn't been to the thread previously, they'll automatically go to the first post. There is no option to automatically send all members who click on the link to the last post of the target thread.
Using the My Favorite Topics feature signals when there are new posts on a thread, which many members find to be an easy and effective way to keep track of threads where they're active.
-
Well, this was weird (not really a problem, I don't think): I just posted to Exchange City, when I returned to My Favorite Topics, it had the NEW box just before the last post - which was MINE. Don't remember it doing that before. Didn't happen for the next post I did (5-letter word games)
-
Hi Mods LOL PhGraham had to translate, I get it now it's an Computer IT thingy. Okey dokey. Trying to make it as simple as possible for those that are having difficulty. Shucks.
We'll if you come up with something in the future that can change it and you remeber this problem let me know Thanks.
-
I came to report on how really slow it is and saw that everyone was having this problem last week but it's only just started for me, I thought it was my iPad but I had to log on at my office today to send someone a pm and it was really slow there too.
-
Thank you, hbcheryl. We're still seeing slowness too, and the tech team is working on it.
-
Why I keep checking in mods. I seem to have fast on occasion but then deteriorates back to way less desirable. Good to hear someone is trying to "solve" it all.
Thanks,
Jackie
-
IllinoisLady, The speed is intermittent for sure and still not desirable. We are waiting for the repair and very sorry that it is taking so long. The Mods
