Slow, slow, slow page loads. Thought it might be my Ipad on wifi but it crawls on my PC at work too.

I'm getting very tired of having to log in every time I visit BCO.

    Every day.

And, yes, I have checked the box to remember me.

Valjean, we're sorry for the frustration! No doubt you've told us this in the past, but can you update what platform (PC, Mac etc.), OS and version, and browser and version you're using? We'd like to check the exact configuration to see if there's a setting that might be over-riding the "remember me" checkbox. For example, some browsers can be set to never save log-ins/passwords.

    Thanks!

I'm using Internet Explorer Windows 8 on a Dell Inspiron 7537.

I have made no changes to any settings. The only thing that has been done recently is an update, actually I saw two listed, & I don't remember what they were for as I only glanced at it & approved it. I will check tomorrow, it's late & I'm headed to bed.

Okay, thanks Valjean. Updates can sometimes include security tweaks that may affect sign-ins. Have a good sleep, and we'll try to sort this out with you if we can.

Mods.......slow, slow, slow and very, very, very frustrating...........so much so that I'm  not visiting as often as I used to as it's just too off putting to wait and wait while the site decides to load.   Sorry but this has been going on for waaaay too long!

Mods - today I couldn't get on for hours......pages would load with banners (top and left), but no content.  It's finally running now, but very slow.

Kam, we're still getting very slow responses intermittently too, although the partial loading you experienced is a new one! We'll definitely add it to our reporting. Thank you for your persistence and patience!

Hard to tell if it was a partial loading or an unfinished loading.  It was taking so long it just never finished before I had to move on. :)

Just a word her Mods.  My computer seems a bit faster today.  In days preceding I was having to log in again, but not every time....didn't seem to be a rhyme or reason.

This morning....I typed a rather long post and it never started the odd behavior of not letting me see what I was typing and the odd jumping that it would do when I " typed too much".

Almost afraid ( don't want to spook the computer gods ) to say it, but I've kept looking here at new postings so I could keep up with problems....solved or un-solved....so put this here in case someone else is just like me....keeping an eye on "developments".

Same old story, painfully slow at times.  Especially today.

I have time to wait or simply come back later but for someone new coming here and likely feeling frantic, the slowness could be daunting.  Or for someone really feeling like crap who doesn't have the energy to sit and wait it would be very disappointing.

We are so sorry!! We completely agree. Our tech team is really working on it. They see the problems (bottle-necking as they call it), and have tried various methods of fixing it. They are also frustrated and are motivated to figuring it out!

    Hang in there...

    Mods,

I for one, and I'm sure a lot of the rest ( slowness has been an issue for me as well ) appreciate a little clarification on what the tech team is up against and some description of what they are seeing and needing to find some sort of workable answer for to fix these issues.  So thanks for putting that information in this time.

Not meaning to criticize because other's have more computer knowledge than I, but just saying to me someone is working on something leaves me more than clueless.

With that in mind, I do realize you and the tech people are busy and so don't expect "full" disclosure, but from time to time a small description is probably enough to keep most of us content knowing that some "fixes" are likely to be challenging.

    Thanks so much,

    Jackie

In reference to the connection delays: It's been going on for a loooong time now, and you keep promising a solution. If it's a bottlenecking problem, you guys should have solved it by now. It's been months.

I love this site, but this should have been fixed by now.

blainjennifer, we appreciate your frustration and assure you we are working on a solution; we haven't yet been able to identify the cause, but hope to have this resolved soon.

Thank you all for your continued patience!

Mods - but they're right you know.  It's taking way too long.  Personally I don't check in nearly as much as I used to - and I miss the tips & the companionship.  I'm 70 - so should have plenty of time to sit around, but I'm not patient enough to wait 3 minutes plus for a topic to open.

Maybe you could send update on the problem like someone else suggested.

    Dearest Darling Mods:

I work in the IT industry. This problem is probably an equipment slowdown - in which case, talk to your hosting service or your techs sincerely and tell them to stop yanking your chain. The timeline on the connection lag is nuts.

Perhaps you could share what the problem truly is and we'll help you crowdsource a solution? The status quo is not functional.

At times I was suspecting a DNS server issue because I would click on a link here and it wouldn't open but then I'd do a reload and sometimes it would load right away. I am assuming that the techs have discarded this as being the cause but just sticking it here in case.

Moonflwr, we're glad the work-around helped (and we do have a "go to page #" addition on our wishlist, although no idea when it might be implemented).

leggo, it's good to know that load times are better for you!

Tonight, Tuesday-Wednesday between midnight and 2am Eastern time, there will be a brief boards downtime while the techs do some work on the Community server that they hope will help with the slowness. We'lll keep you posted!

    Mods,

Thanks for the info on the techs and sure hope they are able to turn up lots of success.

I was slow today, but no more so than ever.  Some days it is ok, others  not good -- never know, but I won't forgot the one day ( I mentioned it here ) it was all going at warp speed.  I'd be happy with a bit less though.
