Musical, we'd noticed that the https isn't consistent too, and sent some specific examples to the tech team. No word back from them, so it looks like something they're still wrangling.
-
I am not the problem!
Enough!
-
Teka WOW! I didnt say YOU WERE the problem. I was trying to help, that's all.

I was able to post photos this am but now not.
I am not the problem!

hi Mods, I can't update my sig line with new # of miles walked.
I go into my profile - settings - edit - and can input the new # (+ 20 miles) but the save button doesn't work.
I'm using Chrome on a Dell desktop with Windows XP. Tried with IE but it's ver 7 which is outdated but worth a shot however that didn't work either.
Thanks for any help!
-
badger, we've updated your signature line to add those 20 miles, and we'll flag this for the techs to take a look at why you couldn't use Save. Congratulations on your ever-growing miles!

So today, a new glitch. As expected, when I quit my browser, I am logged out of breastcancer.org. That is good. When I then logged back in EVERY SINGLE THREAD appears to be read. This is not good. Not good at all. On my standard "home page," the Stage IV page 1, I should have about 8 threads with the NEW indication and I have none.
I fear that this will make breastcancer.org less user-friendly overall. I can't have this site open all of the time since I use this machine for production and presentations. Do you think they can fix this?
*susan*
-
p.s. A new post in the Xeloda thread just appeared, so I logged out via the LOG OUT button, and then logged back in and that thread is marked as read. So this bug isn't a function of quitting the browser, but simply a function of logging out. Oh dear.
-
Okay, Susan. Will add that to our tech glitches. Argh.
-
hi there! I can't remember my password, it only defaults on my iPad. I can't log in from my mobile or my PC because I don't know my password even to reset it. Additionally, the "reset password" link doesn't work.
Can you please help?
-
Jen, we're sorry about the log-in problems! We'll send you a private message with a fix, and will report the problem to the tech team.

Susan - I log out every time and any threads I haven't read still show "new" and are ready to read.
Mods - I'm wondering if many of these problems are because of user hardware differences. I'm on a Dell desktop w/Windows 7 Home Premium, using Firefox. Have not had any issues with the upgrade, but I don't post pictures so can't speak to that.
-
Mods, the threads are still not opening at the last read post but several before. I'm still being automatically logged out after two check ins on my iPad.......I never log out on any device but this has happened on my Laptop as well.......really annoying.
-
I just started having trouble posting pics from my iPad and last week I couldn't post pics from my laptop which is windows 8 IE I think 10, I did just do an IOS update on my iPad and tonight my favourites aren't loading.
This one happened just before the upgrade on my laptop, I would come to BCO and before I logged in it would stick at about 4 days before, then I'd log in and it would be okay then the next day the same thing would happen but as I say that's fixed itself.
-
MinusTwo, the major upgrade was to the web application framework, which runs via the site's programming language, so although there was much planning and testing, it's quite possible that specific configurations' software and hardware are reacting differently - although I couldn't program my way out of the proverbial paper bag, so that's just my guess! We're sorry that there have been so many problems, and we're reporting every one for the tech team to tackle.
chrissyb, the issue of threads not opening to the last-read post, and log-out behavior are in the tech queue, thanks!
hbcheryl, we're glad some things are working for you now, and we'll continue to follow up on all the issues that have been brought up.
-
I'm experimenting with my new, and first tablet, a Surface2. So far no problem. logged on and arrived at the right place on all topics. Will probably try posting pictures tomorrow.
-
chabba, thanks for the good-news report! Enjoy your new tablet, and fingers crossed that everything continues to go smoothly for you.

Thanks .

These are all links that I keep in my Favs, b/c they are related to stuff that happens to us. Some I've worked on. Others I haven't , but I keep them in case someones got a question. Some are my threads. Seriously, just put them in your favs and read later. You can always delete them if you find no value. Don't let this list overwhelm you.

sas-schatzi, the URLs you've listed don't follow the syntax that will link to another page. If you want, for example, to have the first URL work, and open to the original post, it would need to be:
http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/78/topic/770796
The same with the second and other URLs, follow the format, and they work.
http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/69/topic/706846
I haven't shown these as live links, so you'll be able to see the full URL.

hi Mods, can you explain to me how to resize pics (if possible) on an iPad mini? I've tried your instructions -showing the "bunny " and I get the dotted outline around my pic with the little black square in lower right corner but am unable to hold, drag and resize. Is it possible on an iPad mini? Thanks for help!
-
Hmmm Not sure about that one, slv58. Perhaps the Apple techs can help?
Hope this helps!

slv58, I'm a Mac user, but (sadly) not a tablet owner, so I haven't been able to test this myself. However, here's a work-around that should let you post photos that you've already resized on your Mini. I see on the Apple site that the iPad Mini includes Preview as one of its apps. If you already have the photo you want to use on your Mini, and open it in Preview, you'll have the option to resize it using the Tools menu > Adjust size.
In this example (taken from the BCO Facebook page) the original was 960 x 639 pixels, and I set the width to 300 pixels wide to make it much smaller for the boards (with the Scale proportionally box checked to keep it the same proportions).

Then, you can just post the pic in its smaller size, without having to resize it on the boards.
Hope this helps!

Hi Mods thanks for trying to figure out my problem. I have had them in storage for along time. When a newbie would join our group, I would just copy them all at once and put them in a pm. It was only after the upgrade that they stopped working.
The way I put the list together was just coping and paste the first page of the BCO topic. Not a big deal I'll just redo. Thanks sassy
