serenitystat, when I go into my acct, it doesnt show any of whatcis already in my profile, no even MBC as diagnosis. Like starting over, but there is already some info there that needs corrwction. Nothing shows up, just questions.
-
nopink - There isn't anything else you can do except ask the mods to have the tech team delete your treatment details from the data source. The mods stated that they're working on a fix this week. They should have been working on it since day 1 of the redesign, but ???
Mods, If you can't fix the interface, then please correct the profile display for the members posting here by having a tech person delete their treatment data. They have experience deleting data. Remember they deleted 30% of my posts?
-
Mods - You really should be interested in removing their data. It benefits you.
1) Removes duplicates which will always add unnecessary processing time (in page loading/data mining).
2) Missing, duplicated, or bad data is terrible for data mining. Garbage in, garbage out.
3) Reduces the posts here. We all want that.
-
serenitystat, They'll have to ask their tech team to translate that for them!
-
Which parts aren’t clear? ☹️🤓🤔
-
To them, all of it! I think it's super understandable.
-
Gotcha! 🤭
-
Mods,
When can we expect an update? Have you been able to fix the profile UI?
Thanks! -
Mods,
It's Saturday. Ready for your promised end-of-week update on the profile fix.
I'd like to remind you why we share our profiles here. It's not to have BCO use them. We share them so that the other members can see our history. They help our understanding of each other. This is useful when we have questions or want to try to help someone else. Now some profiles are such a mess that we can no longer trust them.
If your tech team is unable to correct the profile display, you need to help the members who want their treatment details deleted by deleting their treatment details. Then we'll know you've heard us.
Here's a tip: You can add additional scripting so that it can be triggered from the profile UI through a Reset button. That would be useful. Users like being able to reset to the default.
-
Thanks for the reminder, Serenity.
While some smaller profile edits were successfully deployed this week (including keeping your free-form signature in the profile while editing, as well as successfully completing the profile widget without error messages), the diagnosis/treatment info showing in profile is now slated for next week's deployments, given there are no issues during QA of the fix. The full list of next weeks deployments will be available on the release notes page by end of day Friday.
-
Mods,
I can confirm the 2 small profile edits you mentioned corrected the issues I had. Hope the profile UI and display are fixed completely next week.
Thank you for the update!
-
Mods,
I hope the user profile fix is completed successfully this week.
Meanwhile, have you noticed the sustained drop in posts (especially in Stage IV topics) since March 1st? Would you consider this a negative outcome of the redesign?
People complained about the "look and feel", but you wrote you will not make changes due to the fragility of the code, so we stopped complaining about that part (well, mostly). It remains difficult to read and navigate after almost 3 months.
If you're closer to implementing a new platform, have you considered the negative feedback from the unexpected changes in the discussion forum? Will the new platform include our requested changes to the "look and feel" including going back to 30 rows per page? The old platform issue that caused the slow performance from the redesign should then no longer be an issue. We would like a larger font, more distinctive bold, less glaring white space, and easy access to the Sign Out button.
I understand holding off on these changes if you're close to moving to a new platform, but do we ask for them now or after implementation? Your tech team must have experience in the new platform to make these simple changes.

mods - Serenity has a good point. So many have given up. If you get this site user friendly again I suggest you send a notice to all (via email?) to give it another try. But don't do it prematurely, that would just demonstrate more failure. I suspect this will be several months out.
-
Mods,
I'm experiencing now from time-to-time what others have, with the print being really small after I enter what I wish to say and hit send. I'm on Windows 10 and using Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. I hope you/someone there, can figure how to get me in the regular size printing on a consistent basis again.
Thanks,
Jackie

Serenity, NoPink,
We are moving swiftly toward a new platform where we will be more easily able to increase readability and address design concerns, so for now, we are holding off on those issues, and instead focusing on more important functionality and profile issues.
The diagnostic/treatment profile edit access issues are not going to be completed this week, unfortunately, as we had hoped. It remains a top priority for upcoming deployments.
Illinoislady,
Can you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing? We have not seen any adjustments to text size.
Thanks all.
-
Well at least the gaslighting is slowing down. Not as many heartless bullshit bot posts.
-
Mods,
I get the email notification for this thread. I noticed that the emails have new formatting.
How is email formatting a higher priority than the profile UI/display??? How can the profile errors still remain after almost 3 months? You didn’t mention the low volume of posts. Do you care that people especially Stage IV members have stopped or slowed their participation?
Light a fire under your team. I fear I might die before this site works properly.
-
Mods,
I tried this screenshot that you wanted -- it didn't print out here how it is on the thread. If I might cheat a bit ( since I don't know how to get what your asking for since it printed out regular size while being much smaller on the older Women's thread where I was ) it appears much like the small printing in the post just above me that Serenity left -- about email formatting.
Actually hers is easier to read ( the small letters ) as the piece looks darker and spaced better than mine.
-
Mods,
Can you update the release notes please?
-
Thanks Serenity. We are literally working on this now and should have it up shortly.

-
Mods,
Thank you for this one in particular.
-
Mods,
I guess I'm not getting thru very well. I'm hoping you will now check the entries on the left political thread or Older Women. Since I could not get this screen shot thingy you wanted -- you can see the very small posts for yourself. It is starting to make me edgy to deal with it on a daily basis. I only post now on those two threads -- even though I do post a quote in Illinois Women.
I hope you will choose to help me.
Thanks,
Illinois
-
Illinoislady, we will reach out via PM to get the specifics of your issues! Of course we want to help!
-
Jackie: They don't come through to me as small print. Just normal. If it makes any difference to the MODS, I'm using a Desktop computer with Windows 10 and a Firefox browser.
-
Thanks for that input Minus Two. In fact, it's interesting. Someone in another place just said the print was hard for her -- too small and she hoped I could get it fixed. We are all trying -- not there yet.
ETA: Super interesting as now -- I'm seeing what I just typed in bigger print which is what I had all along. It has only been a few days since I noticed the type size so diminished. I will see what happens if I get on one of the threads where I post a lot.
-
Mods,
IllinoisLady and others need the bigger font and more distinctive bold. It's not just me. Please keep this in mind that readability is a problem with the site and may be one of the reasons for decreased activity.
Since you reduced rows per page from 30 to 10, the pinned topics are taking up the entire first page in some forums. Would you consolidate them please?
For example, in the Stage IV forum, the separate threads for the different Zoom meetups shouldn't be pinned. There's already a section in the announcements thread for links to some Zoom meetups (the first is a link to a thread, the second is a link to register. I'd stick with links to threads with registration in OP). This change is done by you, not the tech team, right? It's something you can do without them.
How's the profile fix attempt going? Is it still a priority? I see members with duplicates or missing information. If they ask you, will you have the tech team delete their profile info?
It's been 3 months since the redesign. The discussion forum continues to have defects. You have a captive audience that keeps this forum going, but it is far from the vibrant community it once was.
-
SerenitySTAT,
As we've mentioned previously, the font size and color readability won't be evaluated and addressed until we migrate to our new platform.
We do try to consolidate stickies/announcements, and thank you for pointing out some new duplicates. We'll take a look at these in the next few days, as this is something in fact we can take care of.
The profile fix does continue to be a top priority and the team is working on it. In order to implement a global fix, we need to identify as many members as possible who are seeing this issue. We have noted the members who have posted on this thread (moth, nopink2019, alicebastable, candy-678, possibly traveltext). If there are others that are also not seeing their diagnoses/treatments listed in their profile, and can therefore not edit or delete them, please send us a PM to alert us. We are trying to identify a commonality among those users, as not every member is experiencing this.
Thank you.

Mods,
I know you've put a hold on changes to the appearance. I'm just reminding you that decision is keeping activity in the forum down.
For the profile fix, I would wonder how it's possible for the profile UI and the profile display to differ. They should be reading from the same data source. I've also seen some treatment details indicating that the translations table is missing some entries. Rather than ask members to send you a PM, have the translations table reviewed by a SME to fill in missing entries.
ETA: I have removed my Location, but it continues to display here. How can that happen?

Well, I have just avoided updating but will give it a try…
