Well damn Beesie - if you're having problems with the "sign out" selection NOT working again, I probably will too. YES MODS - we know how but it continues to malfunction. Edited to say - using a desktop & Firefox.
And for those of you who aren't worried & just close your browser - I don't trust BCO (or ANY site) enough not to take the actual steps to sign out. Nor would I ever choose to stay signed in.
-
Thank you for your inputs on functionality. We do understand that many aspects of our community are not as you (or we) would like.
We're doing our best--- really. We understand that it is difficult to wait for the improvements for us to all have a community experience that we hope for, and expect. We apologize for this.If anyone would like to jump on a Zoom call this week to discuss, I (Melissa and others at BCO) would be available, and happy to meet. As we've said, many of the issues were NOT anticipated. We're moving toward solutions. Please PM the us Mods if you would like to meet over Zoom, or post here to let us know -we'll be following. We're here, and committed to making things better for All. -
Minus - I use a Private tab for this site. When I close it, it clears all cookies. If I immediately reopen this site, I am not logged in. The Sign Out button clears the cookie for this site. I'm not just closing the browser. The Private tab/Incognito mode is not the default browser. There's a difference.
ETA - Don’t worry. I won’t mention this again if you still post about the Sign Out button. It shouldn’t be buried.

I do not use this site anymore like I used to. I have just given up trying to post my CORRECT diagnosis, dates , treatments and every time I do, the dates post wrong, timeline not what I entered. Just ridiculous. I am computer saavy and know what I am doing when I place the correct information. This is just sad. This site has had little improvement. There was no need to change what was working. I give up. I am not even going to try to correct my profile information anymore. What the heck?

My guess is that the user feedback they are talking about is the focus group that Travel Text was part of. I suspect they asked a question something like how they would feel about a predominantly pink site, knowing they would get a negative reaction, and used that as justification to drop all the color for a more "inclusive" site based on used feedback. I don't remember what they said about testing, but my guess is that they were referring to concept testing (like the pink question) rather than actual QA. My belief is that they did not lie, but they spun the facts and maybe that's part of why they spent so much on consulting and so little on actual tech implementation.
-
debbew, wrong there. the color of the new (or old) site was never a topic of discussion in the focus group.
In the interests of transparency, and to validate my previous posts in this thread, here is the last email I received from the moderator of the focus group. Date:23 February this year:
“Our VP of communications, would like to present a short preview of the new BCO website (not including the community) for the first 30 minutes if possible. This will be launched March 1st. The discussion boards will look different (re-skinned). The platform will be updated in 2022-2023, where we'll need your inputs.”
-
Can someone help me fix my signature data? I went in my profile and tried to update it, but it only ended up looking silly!
-
traveltext, thank you for sharing the text of the focus group's limited involvement. I believe you said before that BCO did not have you test the discussion threads before they relaunched their "so-called" "reskinning" as BCO has tried to tell us. With all the immediate problems after March 1, they apparently did not involve members in pre-launch testing of the threads. Thanks for clarifying.
BCO, you announced the relaunch to the focus group, but didn't bother to announce that to all the members who were so greatly affected, nor did you test, or even beta test the functionality of the discussion threads until after you made it impossible to backtrack to a working version. Instead BCO has now let us flounder with this fiasco for almost 11 weeks without taking responsibility or being accountable!!!
Where is the leadership at BCO? It's unconscionable to think how this supposed non-profit organization only thinks of its potential donors, and not the actual members and visitors. If you had to make a profit as a business, you would not survive this failure to lead. If you can't even commit to a timeline for replatforming now and didn't have a timeline in place before your relaunch, how could you give a timeline to the focus group months ago? BCO's spin on issues is mind-boggling!! What used to be a site I recommended to people has become a third-rate site for spin for donors!!
How do we get honest and timely information from BCO about all this re-platforming and relaunching? Are you going to let us beta test or are you going to steamroll the next change through also? Consider the Titanic! Full steam ahead, until you hit an iceberg!!

Mods - Is anyone working on the profile UI and/or profile display?
rain - Try deleting as much as you can under Your diagnoses and Your treatments in My account. I use the Signature in Settings to display my info.
-
serenitytstat. it's just not possible to simply remove treatment details. For years I had all my details in my signature using html, but they've disappeared in a "fix". Where is it possible to add signature details now?
ceanna, looking back through my emails I can report that the advisory group was providing ideas and feedback on site content and functionality. We were shown the new main site seven days before it went live. As I said before, no design or testing input, and as I said before re the community pages, ditto. -
traveltext - Please read my post again. I asked her to try. When the redesign first happened, I was able to delete my info within the first 2 weeks. She might be able to delete some. The Signature is in Settings where it’s been since the redesign.
-
I can't find a way to delete diagnosis or treatments, just add. When I'm in I try to select "skip" everything, nothing happens. How do I delete what's left in my signature? Some of the selections show "[object Object]" as choices for birthday, etc. That's really helpful, NOT.
-
traveltext - What do you mean you were “ shown the new main site”? Shown screenshots or given access to a demo version where you could open the user profile UI?
-
nopink - Have you tried to go into My Account, not the Complete your profile box?
-
Shown the same site that you saw seven days later. We had a preview. No access to a demo version or to functionality.
-
You were able to click around? Open the user profile?
-
No. Look not touch.
-
Guess they were afraid of someone noticing something wrong.
The moment I opened the user profile and saw my dates were wrong I knew.
-
Oh, your signature didn’t just disappear. When you went into Settings, the signature field didn’t get populated with your existing text . The moment you hit Save, it overwrote what you had.
-
Mods,
If no one is working on correcting the profile display, at least let people request their treatment details be deleted at the data source.
Some people have the same information listed multiple times.
-
Thanks, serenitystat. I edited my signature, but, as others remarked, the info about dx and treatment wouldn't delete. 😠
-
I don’t know why they removed the delete option, but glad your signature works.
-
Yes, the profile UI is being worked on and we hope to have some fixes deployed this week.
For those who can not find where to delete your diagnostic or treatment info:
1) Click your avatar at the top right of the page - this will take you to your main Account page
2) In the navigation bar on the left of your screen, you'll see My Diagnoses and My Treatments. Click which one you'd like to edit/delete. This will bring you to a summary page of all treatments or diagnoses you've entered.
3) Under the treatment or diagnosis you'd like to delete, you'll see listed: Your privacy setting (Only me or Public), a link to Edit, and a link to Delete.
4) Click Delete, and that entry will disappear. (It may take a few minutes to reflect in your signature or profile.)
5) You may also Edit your profile from here; be sure to click Save when finished.
-
none of my treatments show up for editing or deleting. It's like they don't exist because the only option I have is to Add.
-
Mods,
You wrote that you have people working on the profile UI. Is anyone working on the profile display?
Moth and others can’t delete their details if the UI is either not reading the data source correctly or the profile display is reading from a different data source.
Moth clearly tried to delete all her details. Ask someone to find the data source that still contains what shows under her posts. Ideally this would help them figure out how to remove unwanted details fo all users.
It’s been 2 1/2 months since this fiasco started. -
OK got it Moth. We are working on a fix this week to get the treatments and diagnoses to populate in your Account area. Then, you should be able to edit/delete. We'll have an update by end of the week!
-
All assets of the broken profile are being worked on, yes.
-
Moth, Mods, and others- I cannot delete my treatments either, can only add. I have had issues with multiples showing on my Profile too. I have messaged Mods and still cannot get a fix.
-
Testing because I just can't wait to see what shows up in sig line or treatments today.
Edited to add the new sig line shows, yay! Treatments are like cockroaches, impossible to eradicate. Mods, do you really think we haven't been trying the basic method to delete them that you Modsplained?
-
aliceb!! LOL!!! Modsplained!!!! Love it!! You couldn't have tagged it better. I wish I had kept copies or a log of all the things we are told by BCO and then the story changes, doesn't work, or that statement disappears!! It's kind of like Hope Wohl's "announcement page." Last I bothered to look it still contained the line "fact or fiction" when she tried to explain away the security breach she ignored for 5 months! Today when that annoying spin page pops up as you log in, she has finally dropped the "fact or fiction" line--maybe she finally understands what a breach is!! She, as CEO of BCO, still does not admit to the breach but at least has dropped the word "fiction." Be accountable Hope Wohl. Don't keep providing the mods the script to follow, but let them tell us the truth of what's happening here. BCO created this ongoing (and often getting worse) mess and after 11 weeks, still haven't hired the right people to get it fixed. This is an inexcusable failure of leadership and an insult to the people here who want to help others and want to at least display the correct information they want to put in their diagnosis and treatment lines. Personally, I will NEVER enter anything more in diagnosis, treatment and NEVER have or will fill out my profile and recommendations for you to track and utililze. If you can't fix tech errors, how would anyone trust BCO to be secure!!
