we are going to Madrid too...yummy
-
Oh, Lisa, you know how we all love food! Especially MaryBe who can really cook! We will have a bon voyage on Tuesday!
-
Lisa - what a great trip you have planned! How long will you be gone? Can't wait to see the pics!
I remember when I worked for an insurance company in high school, it was just an office full of women. There was one client named Doby Dick! When he would call, whoever answered would be all business, then the second we put him on hold, we would all just crack up laughing - for quite a while - then get back to the phone and be all business again. The poor guy, what were his parents thinking?
-
Beats Moby Dick. Hee Hee.
-
My first iPad2 post! wooHoo!
-
yea barbara...how do you like it?
-
Can anybody tell me how to post pictures from Picasa? Got Picasa downloaded and managed to get some digital pictures on it, even managed to post a profile picture on Facebook, but I need some help in posting pictures here, even a profile one would help.
Hopefully it's not too complicated!!
Thanks, Kathy
-
Barb - my son has the first iPad and he loves it. When the new one came out, I told him I was going to get THAT one because I want a white one. He's whining about it, of course. What color Smart Cover did you get? I think I want a leather one.
My son has written 2 apps for the iPad/iPhone and has 2 more in the works. Plus, he goes to school at Georgia Tech and the GTRI (Georgia Tech Research Institute) hired him to write an app for them. Amazingly, they don't teach iOS development at Tech and he's one of the few students there that knows it, so he's in great demand. He taught it to himself 2 years ago - why other kids don't bother to do that is beyond me. He gets about $350/mo ad infinitum, and once you've completed it, his "business" pretty much takes care of itself.
-
Kathy, did you upload your photos into the Picasa Web Album?? you do that first
or put them in photobucket or both...at least that is what I do, I am sure there is an easier
way
-
heartnsoul.. thats' great for your son! he must already know what he's doing!!! whats' he majoring in ga. tech? 3jays good job, Barbara, but we knew you'd be able to.. whats' new on the job front?
-
Kathy, I don't use Picasa.
Lisa, looking forward to some beautiful pictures.
Hertnsoul, what a talented and industrious son. Hope he does well. What apps has he done? Anything Barb or I could use?
-
LOL - he's majoring in Computer Science, naturally. At least it's something he loves.
His apps are not my style, but good for students. One is called "Equations" which is a scientific calculator so the students don't have to carry a calculator around with them in addition to their phone, iPod and all their other gadgets. The other one is based on a web comic for geeks, called "Joy of Tech". LOL, I don't think this is anything we would want, either. But....one of his new ones is something I think we would all love and I can't wait for it to come out.
Thank you for saying such nice things about my son. He's definitely a go-getter!
-
Thanks, Lisa. I'll try that tomorrow.
Kathy

HnS, I got a black leather magnetic cover. The new one is much thinner than the old one. Let us know when his new app comes out. There are so many, I have a hard time even browsing them. AJ, is there a way to filter the app search to iPad apps only? I don't want to download the iPhone apps since they show up 1/4 the screen size.
3jays - compromised at 20 instead of 35. Have a job though so that is good.
Kathy, can't wait to see your pix!
Everyone have a great day.
Lisa, less than a week! You must be bursting at the seams! Man, though, that will be a looooong plane ride.
-
sorry, Barbara.. i have no idea what that means! pm me. i wanna find out something, if ya will..3jays
-
Barb - I have not found a way to filter the apps for iPad only, but since I have gotten some apps now it only shows me the iPad apps. I think it learns what you like as you add them. It also suggest which of the new apps I might be interested in. Hope you are having fun with your iPad2. You can go to Catagories to help search for the apps that you want. I found that made it a little easier to find what I was looking for.
-
AJ, I found the BEST free recipe app. You put in the ingredients or leftovers you have and it comes up with tons of recipes. Love that!!
3jays, I pm'd you.
OK gals, Lisa has a big Bon Voyage party coming up Monday (she leaves for tulip-land Tuesday) so who else needs a party?
Our own Shelley is in Treasure Island today and tomorrow and we are having brunch tomorrow. Will post pix.

- Oh, another thing: the sales guy at my job I worked on with for this HUGE request for proposal (which took me 10 days to answer) sent me a gift card for my favorite restaurant. How nice! He asked me to recommend restaurants for his parents who were staying in my beach town. SUCKA!! Got me!! How nice, though.
Going to spend it tomorrow!
-
-
I saw my oncologist today and he gave me the go ahead
to tiptoe thru the tulips...in Holland...yipee
I took this two years ago but it is getting me in the mood
-
Lisa - Yippeeee! Great news! The tulip is gorgeous! Happy tip-toeing and let the Party begin!
-
Lisa - you do know now that you're going to HAVE to tiptoe through the tulips....
What a gorgeous tulip!

QCA, if you can figure out how to upload your pics on Facebook, you can just right-click - copy from there, and then paste in here. That's how I do most of mine. I forget how I put in my profile pic here, but I think if you go to My Home and then access your profile there might be a spot that says to upload a picture for your profile. Good luck!!
Lisa, just in case I don't get back in here for a while, safe trip and I too can't wait to see pics. I'm going to meet up with a woman I became friends with through the Chat room more than 5 yrs ago but never met in person. I'm in PA and she's in VA so we're meeting for the weekend at Baltimore, MD at their Inner Harbor there. Lisa - do you remember marianleah from chat?
Not taking my computer - how will I cope??? Ha!
Have a good weekend all.
-
no Mary, I can't at the moment remember, but chemobrain may be kicking in
hasta la vista and have a good weekend
-
Thanks Marie. I'll try that. I think part of the problem is my browser is Firefox and it doesn't allow you to copy and paste, according to what I read.
Lisa, that's great, great news!! I'm so excited for you and excited about the pictures we'll get to see.
I kept a sick GS again today. Don't know why they ever put him in day care (well, other than he "needed to be socialized" and I really think they thought we were barbarians or something.) We've got a full day tomorrow and thank goodness DS has the day off.
DH and I are building a set for 101 Dalmations, the musical version. DD teaches elementary school music and she got a grant to perform this play, so old mom and dad are doing the set. Actually, DH is set designer and artist, and I'm doing the non-artistic utilitarian painting. He's the General and I am what he says the Marine Corps calls a grunt. But, we're having fun doing it! I do think that if DD ever does something like this again she'll limit the cast numbers--there aren't 101, but there are 66 4th and 5th graders in the cast! It will be at the end of this month.
Kathy
-
marlegal, good to see you, kathy, that sounds like a whole lotta fun! good luck! 3jays
-
Kathy, what fun! Set building!
Lisa, you will have a blast!! And we need pictures.
Mary, love the Inner Harbor! Go to the National Aquarium...very cool.
-
QCA....a grandson 'needing to be socialised', sounds like a puppy !!!!!
Trouble is all this 'needing to be socialised' vanishes into thin air when they have a crisis, and come running to Grandma !!!
I think the younger generation has no idea at all how we managed to bring them up !
Isabella.
-
You've got that right Isabella..............makes you wonder why the world is so over-populated doesn't it?
Sheila.
-
Well, gals, what's cooking for the weekend? Any ideas for a party? I am ready. I am ALWAYS ready for a party!!
Sheila, I love k d lang. Especially the Chanteuse album. Wonderful.
I had lunch today with a BCO member, Shelley. Here we are.
-
Wish I could join you for lunch. Good start to our weekend. Had friends round fro dinner - I love cooking. Nice drop of NZ Pino Noir, pleasant evening. DH and I might just get rash and go to a movie tonight. Sister is not around so don't get made to feel guilty when we go out and don't take her. Not sure what Sunday will bring but probably have a drink with neighbours as we often do.
So enjoy your weekend.
