Lilia - thanks, I'm flipping back and forth between The Voice and Dancing With The Stars! LOL
-
Sheila: because it's bigger???!!!
-
-
Sheila: "Ma kinna" of girl!!!
-
I have to tell my Daughters who they tease me by calling me ELDERLY..... that not everyone feels the same way.
First KIDDO now Girl.
I feel good. Thanks.
-
Dearest Sheila: send your daughters my way... I think I need to have a talk w/ them
... and believe me... I am no spring chicken
... half of my life is gone already
... but, I do have to keep up w/ my almost 16 year old and beat her to the punch if you know what I mean... Yah... I am a young, hip, mama... even though parts of my body no longer believe on that lie!
-
NBN - yep, I'm a young, hip, mama too! Even though most of my body doesn't buy that anymore, I can still fool my brain - poor brain, so easily duped...
Tonight's show was different, that's for sure. First of all, I thought the whole thing felt kind of rushed. And the sound system was off, so that wasn't helping ANY of them, even my favorite idol David Cook! The weird story about Lauren's vocal chords...was it to start the show off trying to win her sympathy votes? I swear, I'm so suspicious of EVERYTHING! And then Scotty graciously "lets" her have the final slot - did he, or was he told to?
Because he didn't act like everything was cool at all!
And, of course it ended with Lauren singing a song about mothers - now whose heart could not be touched by that.
The funny thing to me is that she waits until the very last song on her very last performance to FINALLY bring it! What the judges and Jimmy have been saying over and over, but she could do it tonight.
Don't get me wrong - I do love Lauren and think she has a huge talent (that needs to be cultivated somewhat). But Scotty - who has consistently performed almost flawlessly (IMO) - probably should win because he can always bring his game. Of course, if Lauren wins and made an album, all she has to do is record one awesome song every few weeks and after a few months, they would have a whole album!
I don't know, I just think Scotty looked kind of jaded tonight. I didn't vote for once, because I like both of them and just really couldn't decide. I'll be happy with either, and the "loser" will still be offered a contract, no doubt.
Also, tomorrow I think we get to see the whole Top Eleven perform, so it will be good to see some of our old favorites again.
It has been great hearing everyone's opinions and feelings about the contestants. I ALWAYS like more input! Thanks, ladies - see you on the next good TV show. Actually, NBN, I'm watching The Voice and I like it! Maybe I'll see some of you gals over there!
-
I thought Lauren did the best tonight. Her singing to her mom had me in tears. I agree Scotty has been the most consistent, but I think he will do okay without the win and I think it will make Lauren. I hope Lauren wins. As you all know I was rooting for Haley, but if it can't be her or James, I will settle for Lauren. See y'all tomorrow night.
-
IMO...think Scotty should get it! Lauren needs more experience with being comfy on stage. If I had to pay or a concert I'd think I'd get more for my $ with Scotty! With that said I also think they really played to the sympathy vote with Lauren last nite...her Mom, her voice issues. We shall see...with both being country genre I think they both will do well regardless of who wins.
-
Heartnsoul....I agree about how strange it was to announce Lauren's voice issues. Many times we find out AFTER the voting is done that one of the singers were battling colds, flus or sore throats. They purposely did not tell us until then so that the voters would not be swayed.
I remember when Clay Aiken was given a super crappy song to sing by the judges and when he was nailing it in rehearsal, they changed the verse they wanted him to sing two minutes before he went on stage. Sometimes they are too obvious about who they want to win...and it usually has the opposite effect on me! However, I should note, that I am from Canada and can't register my vote.
-
Shannon W...................I agree with you.....the sympathy card was absolutely played last night............I said above..I don't think the judges should have voiced their opinions on who was the "best" of the night.................Showed their bias.............good for Jolo for not doing it...........Scotty is by far the one with the most talent, and he will go very far on his own without being the American Idol.........In fact that might just hold him back.........
Lauren is very good, liked her all along, but favored Scotty...........Just think the judges were out of line last night pushing Lauren as the best.............the last night should be left up to the voters, not the judges.
Also that could have hurt Lauren...People may think "hey if she is the winner, we don't need to either vote, or vote for her, since its all sewed up according to the judges.............bad move on their part.

I switched over to 'The Voice' on channel 4 two weeks ago after James left. It took about 2 weeks .. but I am so into that show .. different, well versed and entertaining!
Congratulations to Scotty and Lauren --- but, I will not going to purchase any of their songs .. Being so young -- I hope both sets of parents keep them grounded -- watch out for them -- putting the young kids welfare before their own personal desires , or demons BEFORE their young children -- ! Please don't say it doesn't happen -- happens everyday -- it's the nature of the Beast - fame and fortune!
Long Live -- Rock and Roll

Today busy doing yard work, and will probably fall asleep in the recliner watching AI. I am looking forward in June to the new season of 'Burn Notice' on USA. Love Jeffrey Donovan. I'll be looking for you all on other threads. Enjoy a safe fun summer!
-
-
Just wanted to tell you guys that if anybody is interested in purchasing iTunes songs from any of the Top 11, I believe today is the last day they will be on iTunes - tomorrow at the latest. At least, that's how it usually works, but they could surprise me again!
-
Aww, what a sweet picture! Thanks Sheila!
Well, I feel like anything goes tonight!
-
I watched most of the season. I liked the variety I saw. I liked the talent I saw.
But it all went flat.
I've tried to keep my own opinions off lately because I don't want to offend people, but there are a lot of people who don't use the same restraint.
So. Some of my favorite quotes lately. If you think you can't handle a different viewpoint than your own, don't read.
On last night:
"It was funny how neither singer really looked like they were trying at all. And why should they? They didn't have to improve all season because all they got was positive feedback. So why put in effort for the finale? "
On the season:
"In a season with so much talent and so much promise, how did it come down to the (deleted because I thought this was a bit much --but not by too much) Twins? They waltzed through the competition singing country songs every week. They were the worst form of country karioke."
I like Lauren, but she's too sweet and doesn't deserve what AI will do to her. And Scotty. Welll, as VoteForTheWorst says.... AI deserves him as a winner
-
OK East Coast... Can't believe this is the last night I will say this but, it's SHOWTIME!!!!!
-
Nature... I DO think you have been right all along and it boiled down to, the way they have the voting set up, it is really a popularity contest and not necessarily based on talent!
That being said, I AM a country music fan. Like both Scotty and Lauren BUT, when it came down to parting with actual cash to purchase a song.... My dollars went to I-tunes... for James Durbin's version of Uprising and I bought Adele 21.
Had NEVER heard of Adele but Haley sang a song of Adele's and I must say... after hearing the actual artist perform the song, Haley nailed it!
Anyone who enjoys a kind of mix of bluesy jazz... Check out Adele.. You won't be disappointed....
-
I want to be in Ryan's head or in his pocket. He knows the result already..
-
They rebroadcast Idol at 10:30 last night
Loving James performance...... NJ
-
LOVE JAMES!!!
-
I didn't see anything on the show that really wowed me last night as you would expect for a finale and have to completely agree with you Naturegrrl!
VickiSam .. agree .. long live rock and roll!
Pip . what a bunch of crap for Clay!
The judges always judge the finale so it's been no different than any other year in that regard.
Enjoying Casey and Jack Black! LOL
-
Angel I agree I like Jack Black and Casey too!!!
-
