I love the new season especially since they added Stevvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeee Tyler he is a heart throb. Love when he closes his eyes to feel the music. I will be watching each episode.
Also like Jennifer Lopez wasn't sure at first but she has some great input and style.
Thanks for starting this topic.
-
i'm with you Jannete, i love steven tyler! he adds so much to the show..from sincerity to obscenity, he keeps the show entertaining! and i agree about JLo too. we're enjoying the season so far and look forward to each episode!
-
Thanks Patty
I'm an AI fan since the beginning. And I'm almost obsessed with it.
So nice we can talk about it here.
I love the new judges. Cant wait until the voting starts.
-
We are loving it my 9 yr old is getting a kick out of steven tyler.. I told her back in the 80's I camped out in the back of a pickup truck to get tickets to see Aerosmith... She looked at me like I was crazy. But I love the mix this year.
-
Ooooh I am hooked to! Steven Tyler is so awesome. I had mixed feelings when I heard J Lo was going to be a judge, always thought she was diva-ish but so far she has been really sweet and kind, what a pleasant surprise. Let's see..I'm rooting for the Medina guy, (his audition reduced me to tears)...forgot who else. Will post back later, hubby is giving me the EYE (yeah am always on BCO)
Tracie...I would have done the same thing!
-
who didnt cry over the Medina story?? my hubby said you would have to be a harda** not to cry:)
-
I'm not watching every minute and actually I swore I wouldn't watch it at all this year (last year was horrible, IMO) but I couldn't resist tuning in to see what the new judges were like. Not a fan of Jennifer Lopez but as others have said, I've been impressed with how sweet she is, and yazah! Steve Tyler! Gotta love him -- plus he's so funny. A vast improvement over last season; glad I tuned in and am watching some of it. (edited to add) I think overall the talent this year is way over any year I've ever seen (especially last year). (Can you tell I didn't like last year?
)
-
last year was a bust, the addition of ellen was a mistake and just added too many opinions, too much judges talk...seriously i can't even remember who won last year...chemo brain continues!
-
Yay! So glad to hear from all you AI fans!
Janette I also lovvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeee it when Steven Tyler closes his eyes to listen to the music. So sexy!
I do agree with you all about J Lo, I think she is a very kind and sweet soul.
Molly, is Medina the one with the girlfriend who was in a car accident? If that is who you are talking about, it definitely is a sad story.
Let's keep it going!
-
Molly, I forgot who last year's winner was too! I had to google it, Lee DeWyze. Guess that reminds us just how exciting last season was.

I started watching American Idol during my cancer treatment (the year of the Davids). It was something that the whole family could enjoy together and talk about that didn't have to do with disease! Then we loved season 8 and actually even voted a lot that season. Last season was a disappointment (I think one columnist said that "Adam and Kris broke the show") although I liked Crystal Bowersox and have her albumn -- I'm a folk rock fan. This season has started out well, I think. I agree that Steven Tyler brings a lot to the show. And JLo is better than I thought -- she can be both sweet and tough on the contestants and keeps the judges on track well. Poor Randy, first he was in Simon's shadow, now the new judges have taken over. He tries so hard, but he just doesn't seem to "get it" in terms of social interaction!
-
I have watched every single season of AI. I really didn't think I would like it this year with J-Lo and Steve Tyler - boy was I surprised! There is good chemistry on the panel but I have to agree Randy seems to have taken a back seat to the other two.
I don't know the guy's name - he has the super deep voice and blew his audition this past week - I didn't think he would make it through. I also am getting a kick out of that blonde goofy looking young guy that has so much personality. Names always escape me until mid-way into the season after hearing them over and over again.

I love it .. I was bored, by the old crew .. then to add Ellen, mistake in my book to have 4 judges .. as Paula used up a lot of air time ... trying to collect her thoughts.
I adore .. yes, would like to jump his bones .. Steven Tyler! I did not know if I would like him .. he just adds much needed warmth, and pzazz to the show. The Dog, Randy, has been turning meaner, more and more each year -- so it is an easy fit for Randy to slide right into the 'simon' spot. The verdict is still out on J-lo, in my opinion.
Some really good talent this year. I felt very sorry for the 15 year boy, Jacee - when his group kicked him to the curb! OUCH.
I like the young girl from Tenn .. 15 years old Alison Alise .. okay, I probably messed that up ... she has all the thick wild blond hair, and she sang 1 of Steven Tyler's song .. from Armageddon --while you sleepin --- also there is a guy from San Francisco .. wears white, or black glasses, plus the young .. husky guy with the bass ...
I was surprised to see the young skinny boy with the long red locks move on ... a little confused ..
I had no idea if I would be a AI supporter this season .. it's all new again, and I am into that! It's my daughter and I special thing that we've done for 10 years . . and I am thrill that this tradition will be continuing at our home. ..

Oh and that john wayne guy is ssssuper sssexy! He's not even my type but whenever he sings, oh boy! His mom is a bc sister i think.
-
Vicki LOL I don't know their names either yet.
Its easier to understand John Wayne or The guy with the sick girlfriend etc.........
-
Letlet .. You and seyla888 are so funny .. and yes, the John Wayne mom is a breast cancer 'Survivor'. I can hardly wait until Wednsday ...
What do you guys, think about J Lo?
Vicki Sam
-
I always liked her as a singer and actress.
And she fits very nicely as a judge because she doesn't come across fake.
There was also a 15 year old.
At this point I don't know who made it or not, except that 15 year old boy who was crying and very emotional.
-
Shelia .. was he a little fluffy? If so, his name if I am not mistaken, Jacee .. I think the back story is that his Aunt is raising him .. Mom ran off, or something like that.
OH my lord, if I know all of this .. I may need to get a life ...Hahahahah

I too have been watching the show since practically the beginning and I swore after last year's horrifc season (I also forgot who won) that I would not watch it this year without Simon, but I too could not resist and it turns out that I'm loving this season. Ellen was ridiculous. I thought JLo would be good because she has been on the show before but I did not know I would love Steven Tyler this much.
I think the talent is better than it has been in a long time for 2 reasons -1) fresh perspective. I think Simon has been bored and detached these past few seasons 2) opening the competition to 15 year olds has proven to be a good decision so far.
-
We are forming a nice little fan group here.
And we know the rules Be restpectful to PT viewers and dont write who was voted out. LOL
-
Seyla, we are "forming a nice little fan group". So happy!
Sometimes it is the little things in life.
-
For me its always the little things.
Since none of my friends watch the show including my adult daughters. I didnt have anybody to get excited with. I really love the show.
-
I like it too. I love the guy with the low country voice.
-
PattyS, thanks for starting this thread. I've been watching AI since season one and like others weren't sure about this season at first. Well, we are loving it so far (DH and 2 teenage kids). Steven Tyler is what made this team of judges interesting. Love seeing him close his eyes to feel the songs. Looking forward to it each week
-
I didn't see it this week. Had to work late 2 nights & was not tired or asleep to watch it this week.
-
Hi,
My daughter and I love AI this season. Steven Tyler has saved the show !
-
Insane ... how many of us think ... Steven Tyler saved the show. I seriously thought he was a drugged out .. has been. But, he has turned out to a yummy surprise. He appears genuine and cares for the want to be .. singers!
Come on Wednesday.
I may like that spoiler link .. more so, as the season progresses... LOL
Thanks,
Vicki Sam
