Anyone watching Season 10 of American Idol?

ok- I am going to chime in. I love Haley and was sorry to see her go tonight, I think she has more talent than Lauren. I don't think she was overly confident, hopeful. I think she has confidence in herself and I think it is wonderful to see that kind of gusto. Of course I think it's also what got her voted off.
I hope Scotty wins. He has the most potential at this point and will go the farthest. I think Lauren just lacks confidence and needs a few more years of maturity, even though I think she is very talented.
Still shocked James got voted off.
-
Laurie -- I agree about Haley... it's gusto and self-confidence but not overly confident.
Mimi -- I agree about Bennie and the Jets -- the night she sang that song was the night I became a fan; it was a real stand out.
Naughty -- that's so funny! As we watched I said to my boyfriend: reminds me of the Pussycat Dolls (as that girl danced and sang).
If that Dialidol thing is any measure, Scotty will win by a landslide.
-
I am not thrilled about the results tonight, but it is what I expected. Haley definitely was stunned. I hope she gets a record deal still. I think she is so awesome. I am not a big Scotty fan, but I agree he should win. I enjoyed seeing his trip home though. He seemed much nicer than I thought. I too felt so bad for Lauren. I didn't realize her hometown was hit so hard. I personally hope Lauren wins, because I am not sure she will get a recording contract as easily as Scotty will without the win. I guess I am now rooting for Lauren. This is the first year in a long time that my favorite isn't in the final two. Oh well.....Good luck to Lauren
-
I think James and Haley will be the ones to have careers beyond this fall when the winner's album will hit the stores. Scotty has a chance in the country genre. But I really don't think Lauren is much more than a good choir soloist.
Go Scotty!
-
Haley rocked the house again with "Bennie and the Jets" and showed everyone why she deserves to be in the finale. She also showed it with the performance clip from her hometown performance. I really disliked Jlo giving Lauren that one round before Haley even performed, and that's even with Lauren screwing it up! These kids are sweet but Lauren looks so scared and Scotty will probably win. I could be shocked again though. For Lauren to win, she needs to stop playing it so safe. I can't help it but they bore me. Neither one has really taken any risks and are one trick ponies. I wouldn't pay to see either in concert at this point. JMHO
-
I suspect the industry want Lauren to win as she will be most easily manipulated to do it "their way". I don't mean to malign her by saying that....she is just so young and naive. James and Haley would have caused problems by not bowing to the powers and churning out another bland AI pop album.
That reminds me. We still have to hear the nauseating Idol Winner song next week. Oh please be better that all the others....
-
Funny both Scotty and Lauren even have the same favorite quote "I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me". Haley's is "Que sera -- whatever will be, will be" and James' is "You can't change the wind but you can set your sails in the direction you want". Interesting!
-
pip, you may be right about that and of course it's not a put down to Lauren. It is what it is!
-
I am so sorry to see such young people in the finale.. I don't think either one of them deserve it. Can Lauren and Scotty sing...yes..but they were never ever beaten down from the judges like poor Haley.
totally agree the voting somehow has to change. Maybe only one vote is allowed per phone number...Not sure but it is not fair

nice to find such a gentle message board re AI!!!
Scotty's been my boy ever since his audition---"baby lock them doors...."! He was also great in the group rounds & I've checked him out on youtube---singing an old George Jones song, redone with a video by Blake Shelton, called "Ole Red"----fell in love wit him along with jlo when he sang "Long Black Train"!!! For a 17-year-old boy he has shown amazing maturity and professionalism on stage.
When he sang "You've Got A Friend" (which got really boring for me through the years) he made it feel I never heard it before!!!.....I SO want him to record "Everybody's Talkin"!!!!! He makes each song his own, and can really tell a story!!
Tell me whatch'all think-----to those of us "of a certain age," Scotty reminds me of the great Jim Reeves re-born!!!! And he seems to be a good upstanding Christian and a true gentleman, as Reeves was said to have been. I think Scotty will have massive crossover popularity as Elvis & Reeves did, AI winner or not!!!
When he & Josh Turner sang together onstage, I agree with a reporter who remarked that at times Scotty outsang Josh!!! Scotty has such a warm tone in his lower range; also I noticed LBT was slower in Josh's rendition, & Scotty slowed it down for Josh!!!! Such a mensch!!!!!
I wanna say more but have tendonitis in my left wrist havin' to one-finger type with right finger----tiring
SCOTTY FTW!!!!!
-
Still love Scotty........................your right.....what a gentleman...............and I think the reason Scotty and Lauren didn't get "torn down" was because they didn't deserve it..........Haley was smitten to the judges more then one time..........she can't handle adivce from people who know a lot more then her...................she really is the one who had to grow up.........the 2 youngest were the most mature..............not including James in that........I did like James too. However Scotty is my pick, there was no one as talented on the show as he is............Pia was great too, but she got the shaft..............sad as it was.
-
angel- I agree with you 100%!
-
Ditto as for agreeing with Angel
And as has been said many times on this thread, the best rarely wins AI. This year is again proving that rule, but I really don't think it's in anyone's best interest to win anyway, which has also been noted several times on this thread. Seems the winners don't do nearly as well as most of the runners-up, with very few exceptions.
I wish all of them well.
ps Laurie, love your avatar
-
My daughter and I love Scotty. Lauren still seems timid. I wish all the former singers the best in their careers. Please remind me Monday that AI is on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
-
I'm so glad Haley finally went home! She really had an attitude problem----very arrogant and smug--and really couldn't take any constructive crticism. I always wanted it to be Scotty and Lauren in the finals--I just wish we could have 2 winners! They both will go far, no matter how it ends up anyway!

I just bought myself a ticket for the AI concert in Seattle.
A good ticket.
I figured I am finally old enough to go out by myself if I want!
Proud of myself.

-
Gingerbrew,
Good for you!
I am 61 and have never been to a concert.
-
Oh Teka you must go!!! it is simply the best time you will ever have
Can't wait till Tuesday night Idol Finale... does anyone know yet what they will be singing?
-
mimi1964,
Lauren and Scotty better sing their butt's off.
-
Ginger...Im also proud and very happy for you.
Of course you will post after with every single details. YES!
I believe at this point everyone knows who wants to win.
-
Teka, go to the concert. Several years ago I went to my first concert, I am 65 and it was to American Idol. I got to meet Constantine Maroulis because I drove a lady with a disabled son to it and I was included in a private meeting with him. He is very good looking and even nice than that! I had a lot of fun. If you go hook up with some other women in your area whi are going you will have a great time.
Of course I will post info back to you all afterward. My ticket is in the 6th row about 20 seats from dead center.
Yeah I paid a lot for it but hey, my birthday is in June and I don;t need anythign else.
Love you all
Ginger
-
Gingerbrew,
My daughter and Me would love an Adam Lambert concert. AI concert will be a fun time, and close enough to touch the singers.
-
I went to the AI concert the season Fantasia won. The arena had kind of iffy sound. I remember being amazed at how big Jennifer Hudson's voice was. She was the only one with enought power to overcome the bad accoustics.
-
I saw Clay Aiken on his own in Toronto. I was a decent concert. Not the best, not the worst.
-
read in a magazine today that Casey and Hayley are a "couple" now and have been for a while. Article says Casey sits with Haley's family to watch the performances, hangs out with them, and is "the wind beneath her wings"! Not sure if it's true or not, it was just one of those magazines at the grocery store check-out.

Haley should have gone a long time ago. I really liked James & wished he would have made it to the finale. I'm sure he will have a great music career.
The finale should be interesting as to who will win. Lauren or Scotty? We will have to wait & see. NJ
-
I must respectfully disagree with you Norma June. I thought Haley was super talented, the total package. I will bet the record label is hoping for Lauren to win as she will be easy for them to manipulate.
Hands down, James has the ability to have a great career. I will definitely buy his album.
-
Pip -- I also love Haley and hope she does well after all is said and done. I must say I'm mystified by the comments about her having an attitude.
-
I had heard that Haley and Casey were a couple, too, and quite a cute couple they are!
I have a feeling Lauren will definitely be molded into some producer's idea of a new Carrie Underwood or something. I hope she has much success - at least it appears her Mom is always with her.
Scotty's father cracked me up when he sang! The same silly song, too. I think Scotty's nickname somewhere is "BabyLockThemDoors".
Okay, I must try to remember AI is on tomorrow! After all this time trying to get used to Wednesday instead of Tuesday, they're pulling a 180 on us!
