lindasa,  hmmm thats what littlest monster says. . . rest of us will never know because he won't let us near them . . .

he is also enamoured of poultry heads---no decent chicken/turkey/duck is ever sold headless.  Fortunately we have very kind local farmers who accommodate his wishes. . . must say, never thought that parenting would include learning how to cook dead poultry with heads on---what we do for love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG .. I am so envious of all these cooks.  I used to cook, but can't stand doing it now.  I wish I loved to cook and look at recipes.  I can never add anything to the food discussion unless Tim is home and bbqing something good.

Des .. glad your dear friend isn't too worried .. sounds like she's had a rough time though.  I worried myself right into a migraine today.  Three pain pills later and it's still not touching the pain.  Guess I just need to surrender to a dark quiet room.  Hard to do with all my dogs barking and my mom visiting! ha!

    hugs to all,

3montsmama - I think the Dr Who thing we're going to is a permanent exhibition in a shopping mall in Cardiff. My brother (who BTW lives in East Redmond near Seattle) says he's been to it. We've been fans since little and always watched with our Dad, now we are breeding Dr Who fans, he's passed it on to his girls and I to my 2. I can't wait to get my photo taken with a Dalek!!! You would think that with all that Wales has to offer, it's strange that I'm more excited about going there.

Kira - what did you write that was reported?

Bren.....I have suffered from migraines since my teens. They are the worst! It is really hard to function while you are experiencing one. Imitrex (sp?) has been my saving grace.  I take one and in an hour or less it is gone. Before I discovered Imitrex I would be in so much pain for an entire day. Just like you said you need to retreat to a dark, quiet area. So I am wondering if you have tried any of the migraine meds out there? Hope your headache is gone soon!

    What's up gracie?

Libby, sending all the positive vibes I can muster

Ahhhhh BRITISH!  Not only their humour but The Saint, The Avengers and Marple are on top of my stop everything and watch list.

I can't remember much more right now, but I did read through, as I'm tired and am missing my sick sense of humour today.  Some of my friends used to call me MENSA, and even though that doesn't apply anymore, it's sad that they can't find anything else to poke fun at me.  THEY should go through brain surgery....then we'll talk.  Sighhhhhhhh......So many hemorrhoids, not enough Preparation H.

I haven't checked my emails yet and wonder if I have been honoured today, but if I have, not enough to warrant a banning.  Guess my tin hat with glued on pink lobsters did the trick, even though I see we had a guest today who just couldn't stay away.  Hey Patzee, this is not a competition.  Relax!  Waving at Patmom, see you were logged on and active today.

Well my morning went with programming session, which has left me a bit dyskinetic, but that should taper off in the next few days.  Then this afternoon to my gyno, who is one of the nicest doctors I have.  Even though I don't like the reason for our visits, I do enjoy the conversation.

    Hugs to all!

grace hope you are feeling better.

enjoyful  I am jealous---sounds like a lovely trip.  Have a safe flight home and mind the airplane food.

susieq58 nothing wrong with a bit of whovian love. . . I have three very addicted who monsters.  I will not tell you how many tardis or action figures (2 of the 3 monsters being boys, its action figures NOT dolls, okay???) we have in our house. . .and Dalek banks and remote control Daleks and tshirts and .. . . . .

if your brother is in Redmond, that means he has access to one of the very last tv stations in the entire world broadcasting classic who (or maybe you already know this?)  In fact, until recently it was the only station in the world....now there is also a station in Sweden broadcasting classic Who.  Anyrate, just in case he doesn't its the Seattle PBS station and its on every Saturday night.

When we moved to Seattle and found Doctor Who on the regular tv, my monsters were gobsmacked.

We have a station in Toronto that plays Dr. Who episodes every weeknight!  I think it's the Space Network.

    Here's a question:  Who's your favourite Who?  Mine is Tom what'shisname -- in the 80's I think.

3montsmama - I'm devastated - just found out the Dr Who exhibit closed in March!!! BIG BUMMER!!!! Well, I guess I'll just have to take in the wonderful landscape instead. Boy am I p'd off!!!

Tom Baker - he was my favourite too. I hope talking about "the Doctor" is not considered bullying.

susieq58  oh dear....... hmmmm, wait!  IDEA!!!!!  you can take the train to London and see the other exhibit?

if you have an Itouch or Iphone, there is an app you can get that tells you every single filming location for new who.  And as we know, Wales is center of the New Who filming universe. . . .rather fun app.

lindasa is the Toronto Station playing new who or classic who?  How nice that classic who is being played somewhere else too.

I am torn.  I liked Tom Baker a lot but when they brought it back I thought Eccleston was awesome and I was so sorry to see him go.

For me and mine tonite....microwaved jasmine white tea and canned roast beef. Milk for he and tea for me.   When my MiLove had her leg removed, she lost 29lbs, her words. The night of her surgery when we went back later, she wanted to know if we had dinner at this place she wanted us to try. We told her yes and that it had cost us an arm and a leg. FAUX PAS? NO!!!!! Laughter all around. When we went to the mall she would ask if she got a 50% discount because she only needed 1 shoe. Should she have been chastised for making light of a situation that only she was enduring, were we supposed to go around with long faces? NO WAY, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!! The Canuck in-loves of mine were a great teaching tool from my "serious" family. So many people in this world just don't understand dry wit and that is really sad for them and that is who deserves our sympathy.  SORRY for rattling on. kad2kar

Girls!!! all is well - we are starting our trip in Lonodn and will return there before coming back to Oz. I'll check and see if it's still on when we're there and where it is.

I liked David Tennant of the more recent ones. We've just finished the new series here and it's not as good since the writer changed.

Just googled it - YES!!!! it's on until November. Now DH is asking me why we are going to Cardiff. Well, that's where our plane from Paris lands and it will be too late in the day to travel elsewhere - duh.

This thread is moving quickly today - Britchick -Hyacinth Bucket is hilarious. I also love Are you Being Served. Saw it as a child. Better than the modern comedies, although I like Absolutely Fabulous. Benny Hill is a step or two below. Did anyone ever see You Rang Me Lord? - I loved that one.

What I shall have for dinner? I'm still pondering the point....

kad2kar - I am with you 100 percent. Dry wit any day. Oh, I have had my days with it. Pity that so many people are politically correct about tragedy, because some of my best laughs have come from mine and those of people closest to me.

susieq58 - your trip sounds as if it is tracing some of the places I visited last fall on my three week adventure in the UK. Cardiff was a great city to visit.  From my hotel by the railway station I was able to walk to their fascinating city centre where I did a lot of gawking and shopping and the castle tour was really good. It was too bad that it was off season (November) for the city bus tours but there was enough within walking distance to have a couple of very full days. Hope you enjoy too!

Lassie - We're staying in Cardiff Bay just for the night, then off to Swansea. I'd deliberately booked an hotel next door to the Dr Who thing - oh well.

We will be away for 6 weeks - London, Ireland, Scotland, Paris, Wales then back to London. I'm especially excited to be going to Scotland to see the Wallace Monument and Stirling castle as I was born a Wallace. I'm also looking forward to doing a Loch Ness cruise to search for Nessie - sounds like fun. And most of all I can't wait to go to Paris!!!!!

I missed a lot today I see. Dinner was snacks at a reception for the opening of our new parish center at church and more snacks at home. Have to go find something else.

I am so happy. I am actually typing with 2 hands. New dose of meds is  helping tremors.Still tweakin of dose to do but  woo hoo'

I missed the post that was deleted by the poster but don't know how you decide a sense of humor is sick.  Does it run a fever? Get spots? Sorry for the "sick humor".

A better example of what passes for humour in our house.

A man walked into a bar and said. "That hurt."

Rosemary, that made me laugh too!  (But I must be super tired because it took me a few seconds to get it!)

Glad to hear meds are working with your tremor!

Blue, sorry about the long hard day -- hope the tune-up works itself out soon without too much dyskinesia.

SusieQ, your trip sounds so great!  I've been to London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paris -- but never Wales, nor Ireland, Loch Ness, Australia or New Zealand!

So great to see so many great new people here!

((((((((Libby))))))))) -- keeping my fingers crossed!

Wow, you've been active all this time... Too much to read... Had a fried salmon with veggie salad for lunch. I usually don't have dinner other than fruits.

Yesterday was a hard day... Still don't know how to describe it. And my hay fever is doing a number on me. Thinking of staying home tomorrow, I have 18 sick days to use.

    Good morning friends!

Rosemary .. you made me laugh .. Ang ... you too!

Yan .. the allergies suck.  I'm sorry for the hard day you had .. I can't even imagine how much you must miss Ogla.  ((( Yan ))).

Blue .. when do you see the doc to get your DBS tweaked?  I worry about you.

My migraine finally went away this a.m., but I feel like I have a migraine hangover.  arghh.

Patty .. I think Imitrex would have been great, but I don't have any.  I finally resorted to Vicodin and Phenergan for the nausea.  The Phenergan knocked me out, so that was good.

Hope everyone has a great day!
