I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

Patmom .. I honestly don't know what you're talking about in your note. I have not hurt anyone on these boards. You know that everyone is welcome on this thread. Newcomers are welcomed with open arms.
I wish the mods would do away with the 'report' button. It causes nothing but hurt feelings and stirs the pot. I don't care who is reporting my posts .. I just know that at times it hurts my feelings and wish it would stop.

Kad2kar .. Welcome .. don't be a stranger! Your note was so wonderful and kind!
My dear friend is having her biopsy right now .. and I am a nervous wreck. Since we went through treatment at the same time and stayed close everyday, this is hard for me. I find I can get lazy in my thinking about cancer as the years go by. What a big mistake. We go about our lives doing the right things, getting monitored, taking our medications, etc., and BAM. It seems so random.
Please keep my buddy in your thoughts this a.m.
hugs,
Bren

Our buddy is in our thoughts, Bren.

Sending up prayers, Bren.

Hoping she's all done and out having a nice breakfast!

Bren, I am joining the "worried about my buddy" club today. A very good friend of mine was diagnosed with triple negative bc about a year ago. She has something very strange going on and will see the doctor today at 2pm edt to get the results of the CAT scan she had yesterday. She started having really bad pain in her forearm (without swelling) which increased over a few days. This weekend she said the pain went all the way up her arm and she has a swelling on her collarbone and facial pain. She is scared, of course, poor thing. She has been through a lot this past year and she is so brave - please send positive thoughts, prayers her way!

What are you talking about Patzee?
There are some very smart women in this group and they DO know what they are talking about...
-
(I love reading this thread. It's fun, funny and a nice break from always talking about BC. And I think having a sick sense of humor as long as it's not abusive is FUN. But then you are looking at a woman who works on the family farm and one of the pre-reques IS a sick sense of humor. Otherwise one would never survive. And that in the end is all what it's about . Survival!
)
-
What man is on here is seeking advice, anyway?
-
Patzee....What are you talking about????? Why would you just put that out there???
-
"These women know not what they do?" Queen James Version?
-
I agree a sense of humor is a must. I had a long talk with one of my kids today, and boy if I don't laugh the drama off sometimes I would never have the strength to fight this beast.
-
Sick sense of humor, huh? That sounds like a rule violation to me because it insults every single participant on this thread.
-
Patzee, you said you don't read this thread now that you have yours. Please just go there and have peace and do not insult the people here.
-
patzee9, why thank you for recognizing that I have a sick sense of humor. We think i got it from my father which is amazingly funny in itself since I never really knew him. Who'd of thunk that a sense of humor has a genetic link?
If you think my sense of humor is bad, stay away from my cousin!!!!!!!
DH, on the other hand, is one of those people who likes puns shaking head Now THAT is a sick sense of humor. . . .
concur with the idea that if you can't laugh at this or find the humor, you will not go far. . . .

A SPANISH Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.
'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.'
'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.'A student asked, 'What gender is 'computer'?
Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.
The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;2 The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.
(THIS GETS BETTER!)The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ('el computador'), because:
1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.
The women won. -
lindasa, What a hoot!
-
I didn't see your comment.

Just want to go on record here:
I reported Patzee's post BEFORE SHE DELETED IT because it just came out of the clear blue sky, advising men not to come here seeking advice because "the women here know not what they do" and also saying that this group is not representative of this website - we are just an isolated group with a sick sense of humor.
Clearly trying to just stir up more drama. And we had stopped discussing dinner menus and EVERYTHING!
-
Oh okay thanks, Desdemona. I missed P's earlier note.
-
Patzee said:
A sense of humor is one thing but I think "the group" understands my comment.
Actually, I don't. In fact, I don't understand much of anything you say. Discussing dinner menus is bullying. We have a sick sense of humor so men shouldn't seek help here about their breast cancer.
-
Des .. I've been gone most of the day and just now read your note about your friend. I will keep her in my thoughts. I know how scared you both must be.
hugs,
Bren
PS ... I missed Patzee's note, so I can't comment about it, but the responses to her post are sure interesting!
-
Bren do we know anything about our friend yet?
-
Yes Bren, Thinking about your friend. Let us know.
-
Haven't heard anything yet .. I just checked my email. As soon as we hear something, I'll let everyone know. Hopefully, she's home resting. We get the results later this week.
hugs,
Bren

I am no longer getting notifications when someone posts on this thread (a favourite). Anyone else having this problem?
Sending positive thoughts to our dear friend.
-
Thanks, Bren! Hugs!
-
I am seeing everything on HTML just now -my computer is having one of its cranky days - lol! Reminds me of the good old usenet days, which I still miss in some ways.
Ah, back to normal.

Just heard from our buddy .. they took lots of samples and more films. The radiologist saw a second area that bothered him, so he biopsied that too. She gets the results on Thurs. or Fri. Geez, I hope it's Thursday, the waiting sucks eggs.
I hope she doesn't get too bruised up and she's not too sore when the numbing meds wear off.
Hugs to all,
Bren

I heard from my friend, too. They found a nodule near her thyroid and are sending her to still another specialist.
