DH is making rice spaghetti with organic marinara. I will make salad and voila.
-
...Stuck in the middle with you... no place I'd rather be.
-
Athena, you sure they are pink?
This is my favourite....In pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and a generic name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol has a generic name of Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called naproxen. Amoxil is also called amoxicillin and Advil is also called ibuprofen. The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of mycoxafloppin. Also considered were mycoxafailin, mydixadrupin, mydixarizin, mydixadud, dixafix, and of course, ibepokin

LOL!!!
-
I made some sea bass tonight. It was a hit! One of my daughters doesn't like fish very much, but she liked this dish...yay!
I love the jokes. Humour is always a good thing!
-
ROFLMAO
-
I haven't laughed so much. Thank you for reminding me of these.
-
Much embarassment Blue - I'm laughing out loud again and people are probably starting to wonder.
-
For dessert we had strawberry shortcake with local (7 miles from here) strawberries. Yummy.
And as Freud said-sometimes a cigar is just a smoke- and strawberry shortcake is just dessert.
-
Back to food (which is not code for anything BUT food, BTW): Went to Costco today and bought a whole beef tenderloin for $47. My DH then proceeded to cut away all the sinew and the little bit of fat, and divided it up into 3 chateaubriand roasts, several small filets, shishkabob and some chunks for bourgignonne. We eat very little beef at one time (tonight we shared a 3 oz filet), but now I have a freezer full of meat meals! Should last me several months. Also shared a baked potato and grilled asparagus with lemon!
-
OK....I want to know who on this thread has ulterior motives! Speak up!
Why didn't I get the memo on the food codes. Lobotomy I say!
-
Fessing up: I have ulterior motives. I say I eat food because I enjoy it. But in fact I eat because I want to live.
Ok, anyone else? Come on, folks, I know we can do it - what are your ulterior motives?
-
OMG Blue .. that last joke was so damn funny .. I'm giggling at my computer!
Athena .. I eat to live. If I didn't need food to live, I could do without it altogether.

-
My DH, in his younger days, used to say that, for lunch, he ate to live, but for dinner, he lived to eat!
-
I have a sister who I would say eats to live. I go through periods where I am like that. Now is not one of them. The summer makes me hungry.
-
My mother was never very big on food---I was the first kid on the block to experience the thrill of the tv dinner!
I am completely different as are the monsters....we talk about the next meal in the middle of the meal we are in . . . .
Chinese food tonight---stirfryed ground pork with sichuan pickle served with rice and lettuce wraps and chinese cabbage (for our garden!) stir fried with garlic. . . .
-
Has anyone heard from Sharon50? We exchanged e-mails a few days ago but her last post is on dear KKs thread - June 15. I am worried about her. Does anyone here keep in touch?
-
I don't really know Sharon but am sure someone will have info for you Athena.
-
Athena, I had a PM from Sharon just yesterday, in response to one I sent her. She's hanging in there.
-
Ok, thanks. I hope she is able to come back soon. She could do with some support, I'm sure.
-
I feel like such a slug. Tonight I had a salad and store bought chicken wings for supper. With water to drink. And a bran muffin. Where do you others get the energy for such clever cooking?!
-
Well I had no energy today so our meal was bbq'd turkey burgers and french fries (baked).
That's code for I'm Lazy!
-
Baked chicken baked potatoes salad and strawberry shortcake took everything I had in me. The crafts I had planned on doing tonight will have to wait.
I have a blanket I appliqued for my baby granddaughter that needs binding and then I was going to try to make a diaper cover.
-
I am hanging out with ya'll - if you don't mind.
Lindalisa - OMG - that meat sounds delicious. I am a steak and potatoes type person - has to be that 22 years I lived in Texas and my mouth is watering thinking about chateaubriand.
LOL on the jokes today - thanks all for posting them.
Headed out to hike 6 miles - 3 miles are straight uphill up the canyon. I am determined to lose this chemo weight so I will be checking back in later tonight.
Oh and my dh is working tonight so I am not going to bother to cook although I do enjoy cooking so much - I specialize in european type foods and love to experiment and create my own recipes.
-
Welcome Jancie!
-
How can you not get hungry reading everyone's dinner menu??
-
Thanks Athena - been here reading this thread on a daily basis and figured out I needed to get out of the drama for awhile and stick around here before I get banned.
-
Athena ... you are fooling no one. Baked beans is obviously code for "I fart in your general direction"
Cracking up at all the jokes. We all need some good laughs about now.
We had spaghetti for dinner. We grow tomatoes and I use them to make and freeze spaghetti sauce. All I have to do later is thaw, heat and serve.
Edited to say ... Darn this thread moves fast. Welcome Jancie!
-
Dinner for me tonight was leftover pad thai from my comfort lunch on Monday. i fixed DH two (small) organic hamburgers with cheese. He had a nice large salad at lunch. I had a hamburger for lunch. Today was a discombobulated day.
The one joke I can reliably remember:
Mary had a little lamb.
Serves her right for sleeping in the barn.
I thought it went pretty well with Blue's pharmacology joke.
See you tomorrow,
L -
Stop. Stop, I say! I beg you -- no more jokes. I'm sitting here laughing out loud, and my poor stomach is not handling the exertion.
I just got back from dinner at a nice Italian restaurant where I ate way too much baked ziti (and that was after the respectable garden salad and half a mini-loaf of Italian bread). I figured the ziti was okay because it had lots of veggies (green pepper, black olives, etc.) plus some terrific pepperoni. And, it was loaded with cheese, of course.
It's good to see all the newcomers to this thread. We're actually much better-mannered than our reputation would suggest. Usually.
