That really looks like it was fun

Barbara ... love your painting!!
I just had another post reported from a day and a half ago.
I love you guys .. but I'm done with this nonsense.

They are just making work for the mods.
They are buzzing gnats ... if they get you banned come back with something like BinVA1 or just tell everybody who you are until you get unbanned. They are sucking up more oxygen than they are worth.
IMHO as always ...
-
Bren you mean someone was so distraught they didn't have it in them to report a post for a day and a half. They must have been prostrated by the horror of it all. I bet it was a humdinger.
On another subject who knows the name of Susan Powter's book on nutrition?
-
WR: Your MHO is mine too. Bren, stand tall and stay however you can.
-
Oh crap, I hate to hear this. I am so sick of these mean people doing what they obviously love to do. ARGGGH!
Thanks guys for the encouragement. I went once before and (UGH). But I think I may be getting the hang of it. It has been 40 years since I did anything artistic. And I liked mine better, too, Wabbit. So did DH.
There were 38 peeps there for the fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House and we raised 1500.00. Woo Hoo. Thanks to 'Painting with a Twist St Pete."

Was the book Stop the Insanity?
Maybe our alternative/wholistic friends who don't read this thread know. A pity, now they can never tell us.

HappyLibby~
Had to go buy myself a huge Special Dark Bar!
Hugs to you...
-
Hasn't she sent you any yet ... bad Libby
For my (younger) sister's birthday one milestone year I sent her a 'care package' for old people. One of my bright ideas was a pill bottle full of chocolate chips and labeled 'energy pills'. Mailed 400 miles ... in August
Hope she ate them anyway ... chocolate in a melted lump is still chocolate.

Edited to say I tried to post a hilarious photo but for some reason (like maybe I didn't do it right?!!) it didn't show up.

[Edited: Looks like everybody's asleep. I'll re-post this tomorrow.]

I'm back! Tomorrow is a busy day for me so will check in tomorrow night. Ciao ciao. I feel so special. I really think its the picture of Jim that has my fan club following me around.
-
Man oh man. I go on vacation and the crazies come out. Blue, I can't decide whether you should consider it an honor that you're public enemy #1, or be really pissed about it, only because of the hassles involved. "THEY" must be really threatened by you for some reason. It's really a sad state of affairs here.
LOBOTOMY!!!!
We'll just keep doing our thing, and maybe "THEY" will find a nicer sandbox to dig in.

After hearing of KonaKat's passing and seeing THESE people acting up , I just want you all to know I Love You and you have kept my spirits and brainwaves going up. I truly enjoy all that you chat about, except for the food. My DH is from Canada and his Mother always made his meals plain, even though she cooked excellent meals with all the things you talk about. We are meat and rice(plain&white) with butter (not a spread). Mine made casseroles ,and all kinds of mixed food salads. In case the Mods kick you off of this Board, I just want you to know, tho I dont post, I am a reader and enjoy being with, and am Thankful for, you. kad2kar

Ya, I really don't know what to think. It's the poor mods that have to clean up the mess. Doesn't bother me one bit. My posts are being reinstated, so they shouldn't have been reported in the first place. The mark remains on the reporter and I think the mods have figured out that I have been targeted.
-
That's so sweet, (((((((kad2kar)))))))
Otter, I'm in suspense until tomorrow!
Blue, happy to see you and Jim!
-
That was sweet kad2kar.
-
Barbara -- love your painting -- sounds like it was so much fun, too!
-
Thank you Ann.

ooooo lala!
I've been reported! I feel so, so, so included........
in the immortal words of Sally Field: you like me! you really like me! [editted to add, oh wait, I already used that line. . . nevermind. . . .how about I just say I am honored and overwhelmed to have joined the likes of Blue. I shall do my best to live up to her standards. . . .]
For the curious, the reported post is number 9841 ( i think) which conveyed the truth to everyone about the evil wicked watchers who creep into our houses and force us to report other people's posts and argue instead of supporting the sisterhood of people dealing with stupidbreastcancer.
I can only suppose that the Watchers (remember, just like in Buffy the Vampire Slayer or perhaps The Highlander) are out . . . .
I shall be sure to pull the foil hat tightly over my ears in bed tonight lest I find myself sleep walking to the computer to hit the report button.
good night ladies and children . . . .!

(((Libby)))
I love you guys, and all of my other friends here! If only love could cure the cancer...
This is our last full day in Ireland. We hope to take a boat out to the Cliffs of Moher and cram in some last-minute shopping. I haven't even bought any shamrock earrings or coasters yet! AGH! ;-)
A happy and calm day to everyone, and special calming hugs to Libby and Bren.

Loving:
Dinner menus and food talk
New posters on this thread
The thought of enjoyful and her daughter on a boat in Ireland.
Hating:
Reports and deletions
Cancer
Hugs to all, but especially tight ones to Bren and Libby.
(Edited to add one more thing I love.) -
enjoyful - How long have you been visiting Ireland? We are going over on 16th August on a golfing tour with a group of people from the city where we live (only my DH plays) after 4 days in London to visit our first grand son. We have about 10 days in Ireland and 5 days in Scotland, then we stay on for more private touring of Scotland, Paris, Wales and London. We'll be away from Oz for 6 weeks. I can't wait, as I have only been to Canada and the west coast of the US, never to Europe before. I'm very excited about the Paris part of the trip.
The lovely legs and salad were VERY yummy. We had the rest of the rhubarb and apple crumble left over from the roast night on Sunday for desert.
Blue - sorry I wasn't able to lend support today when the crap reporting was going on again - stuck in a bloody workshop all day.
I was SO tired when I finally got out of there. I'm a software engineer (insurance claims software) and this was our first meeting for a new project I'm on. Doesn't look like I'll have too much work to do on it - hope I don't get too bored. The most frustrating part was 5 people flew up from Sydney for the day (I'm in Brisbane) and later in the day all flights were cancelled due to ash from some volcano in Chile. They are stuck here for the night, no spare clothes, nothing. They are actually talking about hiring a vehicle to drive back to Sydney (12 hour trip) as they could be stuck here for a couple more days. They were lucky to get accommodation for the night as there would be a lot of people affected.
Seems like I've upset the people on the Alternatives thread again. I poo pooed a post regarding an old reseach result regarding herceptin. It will be interesting to see how it goes
I have since posted a link to research for small HER2+ve tumours which shows absolutely outstanding results.
Pleasant dreams
Sue

Linda, ditto. Glad Blue is back though. Welcome kad2kar. E, so glad you had such a wondrous vacation.
-
E - glad to see that you are still on holiday - enjoy your last day.
Glad you are back, Blue. What a silly merry go round. But then, IMO, some of the deleters are neither intelligent nor mature; others are manipulative and calculating, but not mature either. (And if THAT statement gets reported, it will be the first insightful action by the deleters!)

We've been here 16 days and have had a blast! I was last here 13 years ago, and am happy to report that the number of golf courses has grown exponentially. You should have a great holiday. We're outside Doolin today and there's a lovely golf course right on the Atlantic not far from here. Enjoy your golfing trip!
I'm glad you posted a more recent study about Herceptin. It sure has done a lot of good for a lot of women. But of course, the alternative ladies need to decide their own course of treatment regardless of what we think or what's been proven to work.
Thanks, Athena! We've had a great time but we're ready to go home. We miss our fur buddies!

E - The good part about the trip for me, is that the non golfers get taken on day tours, so I will get to see a fair bit. We don't really know the other people on the trip (DH knows a few), so that will be interesting. We did meet them one night at a fuction, but didn't really get enough time to see if we liked them.

NO WAY. I am still laughing at your post. Have an idea to make a Tin Hat ( think Princess Beatrice at royal wedding wearing an IUD) spelling out the word - lobotomy. This thread is such a gem, discovered it late in its life, but it has kept me smiling -
Bren -my deepest wishes for you & your cousin. It has been increasingly impossible, to imagine a "cure" for any kind of cancer - sorry to be grim, but just lost another dear, dear childhood friend, melanoma, and learning of more and more in my monthly support group who are having a reoccurance of bc YEARS, I mean years, after treatment. So grateful they have medical options to help them. Anytime someone suggests wheat grass or sunny thoughts - I want to cry!

You post insults about people on this board (that I choose not to repeat here), and then add another dig as you challenge them to report it. Then once your post is reported, you will claim that it broke no rules and complain about how awful those reporters are. You know that the post is not appropriate even if the moderators decide that it bends the rules rather than outright breaking them. What a way to offer support.
This is a public support board. That means that everyone who shows up here, not just our friends, deserves support from all of us. There are a variety of ways to support your friends without hurting women who are not part of your inner circle.
-
Oh good I am not the only one who thought that hat looked like an IUD.
What if they gave a war and nobody came? OR Until some people act like adults maybe we should not rise to their reporting bait. It will be hard but maybe by giving them what they want we fan the flames.
Now phasers on ignore and Scottie can beam us up soon.
And Patmom I concur with your last paragraph.
