ahhh go ahead and scare him KonKat! I met the UPS guy the othe day and when I closed the door and saw myself in the mirror...it wasn't pretty to say the least...TEs hanging out of a low coat house dress with bleach stains all over it and well, it just all was so not pretty. Poor guy, next time he will ring the bell and RUN!
-
Konakat, that's what scarves are for - well among other things. I'm sure glad I held on to all of mine for so many years. When I quit working in an office setting I was almost got rid of them all but just couldn't throw them out and never got around to giving them away. They get more use now concealing things when I don't want to wear foobs than they got when I was working.
-
Kinder, but this is such a toxic thread for you. You are more than welcome to stay, but I don't want to be blamed for leading you down the trodden path.
-
Erica31 might like to name her possum
Donal O'possum if it's a boy
or
Katie O'possum if it turns out she is a girl.
-
Enough, Blue, GIVE IT A REST AND LEAVE ME ALONE, I AM STAYING HERE BUT I AM PUTTING YOU ON IGNORE!!!!!!!
-
If its a boy "Forky".
-
Revkat, when you said bless your little heart, did you really mean it or was it sarcastic???? Just wondering!!!!!
-
River -- the only scarf I have is a black with grey skull and cross-bones bandana that Boston Boy gave me. I never wore it to the cancer clinic for fear of offending someone though, I'm a wig girl. Maybe I should have saved all my hats from my I-love-Princess-Diana-days. Fedoras are "in" right now -- might add some panache to my baggy sweat pants and t-shirt look?
I think I'll just gel the mess down.
-
I like Frick and Frack for possum names.
I can't handle all of the intrigue and ridiculousness here. Bowing out for a while and communing with my heating pad and pain pills.

Good night ladies
-
Well, I guess I have arrived -- I had a post deleted today from last night. Oh, well. I'll have a glass of wine and get over it.
-
For crying out loud. Sorry about the deletion Cherry. Welcome to the club!

I think we are just feeding the trolls at this point.
What is going on here is just sick behavior. They are poking the stick in Melissa's eye now ... trying to prove they are in charge of this board instead of her. She will have to handle it.
And it's not just this thread ... it is happening on several threads throughout the board.
All we can do is try our best to ignore them and make it not so much 'fun' for them. This behavior is so warped it is beyond understanding by normal sane people.
-
I had Brussels Sprouts for dinner tonight. I recommend them to all who like vegetables. I just steamed them this time, no fancy recipes, out of respect for all possum lovers who are missing from this board.
-
I never called for pizza. I ate jelly beans instead. Beans -- that's a veggie. And some are fruit flavoured!!
-
Wow, I see a lot has been going on here. I skimmed through the posts.
Elizabeth, I'm so glad to see you back here. I want some jelly beans.
Here's a video from Wisconsin. The reporter said that several marches all around the country were taking place by unions. That's probably why the palm trees. It was not presented to be a lie. It's what you want to make of it. And, notice, the version you showed was videoed by a home video....a man probably sitting in front of the TV in his underwear.
This is a good video. You will enjoy it. It will get your juices running. And I thought the Tea Party was bad.

Wisconsin State Senator Glenn Grothman is chased and trapped by hecklers outside of the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison, Wis. on Mar. 1, 2011. Thousands of protestors had gathered as Gov. Scott Walker delivered his budget address to the state legislature, capping off two weeks of continuous protests and demonstrations against provisions which would strip public employees of their collective bargaining rights.

I was WITH Glenn tonight. He said he is going to be on Fox and Friends tomorrow morning

Efflorescing was banned again until the 12th day of this month.

Attention Melissa ... we need a clean up on aisle 10.
The trolls have broken some sister's accounts again and left another nasty mess.
Petrichor ... I love your avatar

"Speech is powerful. It can stir people to action, move them to tears of both joy and sorrow, and - as it did here - inflict great pain," he remarked.
However, Roberts conceded, "On the facts before us, we cannot react to that pain by punishing the speaker."
Apparently, the rights to free speech exist in America, but not here on the BCO boards. I am so sorry for Efflorescing, Konakat, and all of the others who have been so unfairly targeted. As survivors, it is important for us to trust that our message boards are a safe place to be. As long as this band of thugs are allowed to terrorize these message boards, there can be no trust.

Sheesh, folks! I knew when I went out of town yesterday, that I would be reading a lot of posts but 12 PAGES!!! Just want to say good luck, Anne!
{{{LEWING}}} Hugs!!
I agree with Allison that leaving a hateful post for all to see is way more telling than deleting it. I must say, Athena, that calling out by name those whom you *suspect* are deleting is flat out wrong. If you had included me in the list, my back would have been up and I would have responded in a vehement, defensive manner and would most likely be in the deletee list for today.
I wanted to welcome back E, KK, Eff and lewing. Linda, I understand why you are discouraged but please do not let them win.
I see roasted brussels with garlic and olive oil in my future today.
No frickadilling today, OK?

Well I am taking a break from here. It may noy be a long one . Then again, if I want to witness the kind of behavior that goes on here, I might just volunteer at my local middle school. I hope the person(s) who is (are) using multiple identities to get people banned have good conversations with their other personalities I am glad you have each other for company. It is obvious to anyone with half a brain what went on
To all you good women who will try to have meaningful excahanges of ideas on this thread, good luck and God Bless. I find that hard when I am swatting at a cloud of gnats. I will have brussel sprouts in your honor tonight.
I have developed many friendships at this site and will miiss you all. That is the only reason I may come back.
In a way I feel if I leave the bad guys have won but I leave with my integrity,my Christian values and my sanity intact so I am the winner.
"Whatsoever you do to the least of these, my little ones, you do unto me."

Awww, I'm very sad to see you go. :-( Come back soon. :-)
-
(((Rosemary)))). I will miss you. Ladysuz, I am new here and even I am getting the 'lay of the land' so to speak. It is really a shame. I enjoy NOT thinking about breast cancer which this thread provides. I feel I have made some good friends here and look forward to having lunch with them during my business trips, since I go pretty much all over the US and even CA sometimes.
Interestingly, I am a conservative and the deleters even delete me. I really hate the fact that the "mean girls" clique is alive and well on BCO. It is a sad state of affairs, which I believe could be easily fixed. I know the mods are busy with normal maintenance and for them this is like having to chatise4 years olds for not playing nice. Has to be frustrating. If the deleters names are posted for all to see, I suspect we will see a whole lot of alias members.
There may be no real answer but for all the mean girls out there: high school was over for you guys MANY years ago. Grow up.

BarbaraA:
Know what you mean I was offline overnight on Tuesday and it took an hour and a half to catch up - whew!
At any rate I take exception to the "moderators are busy with regular tasks, etc., etc" line of reasoning - is it not their job to be MODERATING????? We all know what is going on and some of us have figured out more or less who is doing it so the ball is in the MODS court - if they can't get it out then God help us all.

It is sad that there is a group of women that want to shut this thread down and that they're willing to spend so much time trying to keep those that like to discuss and learn about various things from being able to pursue that. It's sad that their ears and egos are so fragile that they can't deal with opinions that differ from their own. It is sad that they seem to be trying to turn this site into a one-sided conversation like those I have seen on other sites. It is sad that it seems that the moderator and administrators here are either unable or unwilling to remedy this situation.
I have no desire to use my time on the planet being censored and treated like a child. I also cannot imagine other cancer survivors using their time on the planet trying to shut up other survivors. Deleters - get a life.
I know that Melissa said they were trying to address this but when I read that this has been going on for years and that continuing promises of changes have failed to be enacted I don't have much confidence that this time will be the charm.
Melissa, I do appreciate the time and energy you put into the site. I apologize if I don't sound like I do. In fact I've been worrying that maybe we are expecting things from you that are beyond what you feel you can handle. If this is beyond what you think you can remedy perhaps the community can come up with some ideas (I think some excellent ones have been presented).

Some days one just has to.........
-
I was just notifiied that i was deleted again this morning. I have no idea why but I guess someone is getting their kicks and enjoying their day!
Cheers
Beth -
Blue - thanks I needed that!
Pickle, glad you're still here.

The Usual Suspects:
FACTS
1. Secret Forum formed.
2. Liberal threads reported.
3. Someone complaining on the "Deletees" thread about his thread.
4. Someone trying to get on my last nerve (didn't work).
5. Someone reporting Conservative posts (maybe their own?) - speculation on my part.
6. Someone deleting their own posts.
Coincidence? Concerted Effort?
I rest my case.
