Kathy~
I like this thread because of the many different topics. Most of the people that I have come across on BC.org have good days and bad days. That will come across in a post...
I try to realize that no matter what thread I am on. No one can be a Suzy Sunshine all the time.

Blue - you're not a mean mofo. You are our Fearless Leader!
-
Medigal has me ROFLMAO.
Bren...hehe! And proud of it!Apal...Not quite that fearless.
-
oh gee - I see Eff has been deleted again. Disagreeing with what a person writes is no reason to delete what she wrote. Or has that been said before? again and again.
Imagine having a point of view that is inconsistent with right wing conservative Christian views. Well, actually, I guess there are some people who can't imagine that, can't tolerate it.
How sad. How impossibly ridiculous.

Lewing:
I know you've been upset and rightly so - so have many of us - I hope you'll stay - the storm looks to be over for now - if only Melissa would take away the report button or post the deleters names - the sooner the better Melissa!!!
At least stay in touch.
Hugs, Sandy
-
EricaDaisy - Now that you and your friends have deleted Eff's post, why don't you just back way off and sit down. Pet the possum, if it calms you down some.

Dear Alpal, how can you say that I am criticizing you all, my gosh all I said was that I want this board to be a little more upbeat and postiive. do you mean that by giving my opinion, that is being critical. O.K. I am new to this, because I have always been a little whimpy. Hey, but Breast Cancer truly rocked my world. I don't know how to be anything else but positive, but when I was diagnosed with bi-lateral breast cancer and told that my survival rate was not that great, I went into true positive attitude survival mode. It was the only way i knew how to survive along with my faith and people praying for me night and day. so yes, I don't like negative attitudes. All I want is to be able to say on any thread how my faith brought me to my knees and How He saved my life and i want to bring my positive attitude and outlook to you all. along with my honesty and standing up for what I think is right, even if others don't. I respect all of you, truly I do. I don't think I would be a true Christian, if I wasn't proud enough to pass it on. O.K. behind me, because I am truly happy now knowing that my friend's house that caught on fire will be repaired and brought back to life. Hooray!!! I promise not to criticize you all again(truly did not think I was), but please accept me for who I am too. God bless you, Kathy

After reading the "Deletees" thread and what's been going on here, I think we're seeing a "Game Plan" in action. Very Interesting!
-
It's a simple one, really. Get mad, hit the delete button. Rinse and repeat.
-
Medigal -- My father was the most devout person I knew -- gave generously to his church and anonymously to others (we found out after he passed away that he had financed many poorer students' ways through post-secondary education) and he was not wealthy by today's standards. Prayers were said before EVERY meal, church was attended EVERY Sunday. His was the example that led us all into doing for others without expecting acknowledgement or recompense. All in all, he led what his family and friends considered an exemplary life.
I tell you this by way of explaining something: I used to quiz him on religion. When I asked him if he felt he was a Christian, his response was that a true Christian (in his mind) was one who followed the ways and teachings of Christ in every way possible. He said he was "trying my best to be a Christian", but that he had failings so he might not be considered a real Christian after all.
He would be disappointed that I lost the faith that was instilled in me at an early age, but he would also be accepting of it, I'm quite positive. He was full of love and kindness. I'm so thankful that I had him for at least 26 years of my life.
-
Dear Medigal, I am so sorry that your Kindergarten teacher was so awful. I just love these little ones, how can you not love them to pieces, I used to go out in the hall and laugh, come back and say:O.K. you all get a Red light, which meant 5 minutes off recess. Please I am not trying to be arrogant about my faith, I just want to be able to profess it on any thread. thanks and have a great night, Medigal. kathy

This is silly...

Dear Blue, what is nauseum and what is a MOFO. Oh, dear I don't think it is good, but you can tell me anyway. Husband is not home yet to inform me. Thanks, Kathy

Where is this delete button?
There is a report this post button, but it takes at least 5 people pushing that to delete a post. Perhaps that is why sometimes posts that are questionable take hours to be deleted, it may be hours before enough people who find the post offensive read it and push the button. If a post is obviously in violation of the rules, or if there are many new posts on the thread so it stays at the top of the active topics, it may take much less time for enough people to read and report it.
-
"Delete" is just easier to say that "report this post." The effect is the same regardless of name.
-
Yup Blue:
There certainly is a "game plan" and if I wanted to be banned for life I would detail it here but don't and won't.
Good luck answering Kathy's latest two queries. LOL, Sandy

Folks, I vaguely recall discussing the definition of "extremist" awhile back, prior to last night's firestorm. Some here wanted to use "extremist" in reference to certain aggressive behaviors meant to promote a personal point of view that they found discomforting. (Actually, it might not have been the point of view they found discomforting, as much as the aggressiveness of its promotion.) I objected, suggesting that the definition of "extremist" might be relative to each person's own background and experience. I also pointed out that the particular behavior in question might not be considered "extremist" everywhere -- in fact, there might be places where that behavior would be considered the norm.
May I now withdraw my objections?
I will take questions during my posted office hours.

Sandy, I think I'll just wait for her husband to get home. hehe!
Enjoyful.....you're right. It is madness but in an organized way.
-
Who deleted Erica? She and I may disagree but I think she adds somethig to the discussion and I have never and would never report her posts; Somebody wants the whole thread shut down and may have just overplayed their hand.
-
Well we're having blueberry pancakes for dinner tonight.
Otter, hahahahahaha!

Dear Kathy,
There are many posts on these boards that don't agree with. There are many beliefs I don't accept. I read them because I'm interested, entertained, or just plain snoopy. However, I an not a fool. Nor do I tolerate them easily.
I take offense when people use MY Christian upbringing against me, even unknowingly. They present a picture of Christians painted in only their broad brush---and to that I take offense. Unlike others who make outward statments of their beliefs, I, personally choose not to wear my religion as a uniform to be seen by all and commented on by many. I believe, you see, that my religious beliefs are MINE and I don't choose to share them with the world, but to follow them and be asked about them, not shout about them. I feel strongly that if I live a Christian life the best I can, I have NO need to shout about who I am and what I believe. That's why I don't visit the Christian threads. They have no information for me. But to those who wish to make their beliefs known to the world that's where they Should visit. Unless they are afraid of being "outChristianed" by the Christians there. JMHO, of course.
I refrain from posting here because I choose not to address some of the issues I see, and if others do not agree with postings, I believe they should either make their case, or MOVE ON.
-
Hey, Blue, so now you are resorting to talking about me in the third person. Truly, I am not that stupid, just naive sometimes, he, he!!!!!! God bless you, Blue and Sandy
-
Oh yes Rosemary. Definitely a concerted effort.
-
Lindasa: Your father sounds like the type of man I would have loved to have known. You were very fortunate to have had him in your life for the 26 years. Personally, I don't think you really "lost the faith" because it seems he did his job well with you by helping you become the wonderful loving lady you turned out to be. My mom helped me become the person I am today with the strength and courage to face all the turmoils and medical problems thrown at me. We are so fortunate when we are gifted with such special parents. Thank you for sharing your special memories of your dad with me.
-
I guess that someone is playing games. 5 of my posts were apparently deleted today, and not one of them even came close to violating the rules. It is a nasty game to make more work for Melissa, and she will know who did it. I don't need to because I don't need revenge.
-
Otter - I'm laughing out loud as I type. You've absolutely made my day. See why I love this thread?
Dotti - very well said and I agree completely.
-
I guess it would be fruitless to inquire who deleted Daisy/Erica's posts? Yeah, I thought so.
-
Oh, Otter! I'm almost rolling on the floor. Thank you for the laugh.
-
Meatloaf baked potatoes and bell pepper strips No bison tonight, just meat from a friend's steer.
-
Dearest Otter, Thank you so much for bringing about all the laughter at my expense, but I am still not going away. Kathy
