I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

PatMom - yes, they'll be able to tell. Sorry it's happening to you. I would bet just about everything I own that they're brand new members! It's becoming an equal opportunity epidemic. How are you still able to post with 5 deletions?
-
Patmom and ERica.....so sorry your posts were deleted.
-
Medigal -- Big smooches to you! Yes, I think we were both very lucky indeed. I do believe - very strongly -- in the Golden Rule, common to all religions.
-
I'm guessing that the software program hasn't tossed me off yet. Of course that may have something to do with the fact that all the deletions apparently happened within a two minute timeframe. Really odd that posts that are over a week old get deleted within two minutes of ones from yesterday isn't it?
Who knows, maybe Melissa was able to set the automatic software so that deletions on this thread don't automatically cause banning?
-
What a shame that Erica31 has been deleted by hate filled cowards. While we don't agree on politics, she is one of us and I miss her terribly. I hope she can get back and update us on her sweet possum.
-
This is not directed at Tupelo or anyone else in particular. It's just an observation from human experience.
Sometimes when people don't like us it's not because of our religion or nationality. Sometimes it's just because they don't like us. Perhaps they think we are annoying or insipid or arrogant or boring. Sometimes it has nothing to do with us at all and has more to do with them. Humans do not always like each other. They can learn, however, to be kind and respectful of others, even those they don't like.
Or they can create 5 accounts on BCO using free email addresses and go on a reporting rampage.
-
Pat, Erica, Tups...sorry about your posts. Sad situation, no doubt.
Erica - Have you named your pet possum? Maybe all of us girls here can come up with some ideas for a name. I'll start - how about Patriot? lol
-
Hey, don't give up Tupelo, hey I am half Jewish, my dad was Jewish. He turned Catholic for my mom, poor man, he sure received the heat from his family. Be proud of who you are, you are a wonderful poster.Hey, everyone here truly enjoys making me out to be a real loser, but if you could all read the wonderful pm's I am receiving, I think even you all on this board would feel better for me. But I am pretty thick skinned so say what you like, I will just pray harder for you all. God bless you all, Kathy
-
Kathy, I saw that noone had answered your questions, bless your little heart, so I will.
Mofo is short hand for "mother fucker" (you asked.) It is often used to describe someone who is either very tough and determined or very evil.
Ad nauseum (I'm assuming the use of the "ad") is a Latin phrase used in common parlance to mean that someone is going on and on about something to the point of making other feel like they will vomit if they have to hear any more.

Athena asked me to post the following:
"Athena sends to say that dinner was going to be the usual prey of zebra, impala, etc... but the other lions apparently beat her to it, given the carcasses of deletees strewn about here. Someone suggested that she create a second alias, but she didn't want to be deleted again."
Can you see us all waving to you? Miss you, Athena
-
Kathy - Yes...you do have very thick skin. Testament to your strong faith. You're kind hearted and generous. Thanks for all you do. Like I said earlier...you can bless me anytime! lol
-
Whoever is deleting posts -- I hope you all get disciplined, because none of the deleted posts (Pat's, Erica's, Tupelo's, Efflorescing's, Lewing's, Enjoyful's, Konakat's) deserved it. And anyone else whose name I missed...
This whole report-post capability needs serious restructuring.
-
Revkat, you explained that so much better than I ever could.
-
I just got deleted too.
This is the post that was deleted. Nothing in my post is against the rules of this site. You know what .. I'm freakin' sick of BCO. I never hurt anyone's feelings on this board or called people names. You can all go ....... yourself.
what's Eff being Muslim got to do with lots of Jewish women on this board. She was talking about her beliefs, not slamming anyone else or talking politics. Bren
-
Must be a case of OCD. Can you imagine setting up all those email addresses?
-
Bren you did nothig against the rules. Somebody just wants to cause trouble. I wisf the feature that showed who had reported a post is enabled soon. This is dessspicable.
-
MELISSA - WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DO SOMETHING????? ANYTHING?????
Sandy

Someone (or several someones) has (or have) way too much time on their hands and way too much unresolved anger and bitterness they want to take out on other people. Perhaps they should be seeking professional help instead of trying to stifle free interchange of ideas.
-
rosemary: I don't think any such feature is going to be enabled at any time. Frankly, I think the least Melissa should do for us is to tell us what is going on about this so we know where we stand continuing to take part in a thread like this. She is giving too much power to the sneaky "deleters" who cowardly pounce upon innocent people. This has nothing to do with what we do or do not post.
What amazes me is that her job could be so much easier, if she helped us put an end to this. If she can't do it, we have a right to be told. If it continues, I don't know about the rest of you, but I know what I intend on doing. Have a good night.

Subject: RE: PLEASE From: Alpal Date: Sep 21, 2009 11:07 pm
The above is a c&p from my sent Pmails. Sure came out funny looking, didn't it? I was really hoping that Melissa would get back with us today about the changes to the report function. Since she didn't, I'm not very optomistic for a change anytime soon. Please note the date on the pmail. Things seem to take a long time around here. I wouldn't advise holding your breath while waiting for change. Is there always someone on duty at this hour? Or - was today such a "active" one that you're just putting in overtime to ensure there aren't any explosions? LOL Thanks for the prompt reply and the consideration of this idea. When I have "pushed the button" on spammers, I have recently started adding a comment that I reported the post and why. I just can't think of a downside to it.

Very good idea. I'll pass it to our tech team to see how fast/easily we could incorporate that.

Please, please consider requiring members to reveal their identity and reasons for reporting posts. It would be such a simple solution and would solve soooo many problems. Thank you!
-
Otter, dear cousin (aquatic mammal kind, not real cousin), I would like to join you in re-considering the criteria required to define an "extremist."
Edited so that people didn't get the idea that I'm really Otter's cousin
-
Dear Revkat, thank you so much for your explanations. All I can say is wow, I am definitely not going away, Blue, I am so praying for you!!!!
-
I'm not holding my breath but a girl can dream.
-
I finally caught up with the zillion posts...before I write anything I think I saw that Anne is due for some surgery and I want to wish her the best from my heart. I am glad KonKat and Eff were reinstated as it is all nonsense to delete something even if we disagree. Geez, is it not the whole point of this thread to have discussions ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime? And how on earth can anyone judge Eff and her feelings about her country and people? You know, if you are on the receiving end of "help" it can sometimes be far worse than the ailment. And attacking her, KonKat or ANYONE on a personal level is simply abhorrent (it actually sounds like what it means-a good word:).You can't dress up hatred and intolerance...it is what it is.
Now, in the spirit of clearing the air so to speak, I will sacrifice a brussel sprout. I hope you all appreciate that the poor little brussel sprout will have given its little round green leafy self so we may all coexist in harmony ...for at least 3 seconds:)
-
Dear Laura, thank you so much for your support and kindness. you are just wonderful, God bless you, Kathy
-
gluten free cheese pizza and coconut cream pudding with whipped cream because I just needed the whipped cream tonight
-
It's dreadful that any posts are being deleted. I think it was here I read that some thought the liberals were deleting their own posts to make themselves look like victims. I certainly hope Erica (OT - for an opossum name -- Pookie for a girl, Pookster for a boy?) and others haven't become sacrificial victims. In any case, please stop deleting!!!
-
Dear BinVA, I am so sorry that you got deleted, you are always so kind and diplomatic with your posts. How did I miss it!!! Hang in there!!! Kathy
-
I'm thinking of pizza if I can get my hair smooshed down -- it looks strange right now and I don't want to scare the delivery man.
-
Hey, Anne, Prayers are coming your way for a successful surgery and healing. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers right now. Kathy
