I agree Gracie. Lots of folks with multiple ID's only log on to delete posts.

...I have never reported or deleted a post. The only instance where I could imagine reporting any post would be if some ghoul was trying to scam or sell something.
-
Hey, I am considering reporting a post right now, "Hotels in Israel" first post by gazaresist1 over in the "New Mammography Guidelines" forum.
-
Kathy - Thanks...
pickle - "childish games and awful comments"
Using the "f" word several times in your post is quite childish and awful. And...exactly what childish games and awful comments are you referring to?
--------------------------------------------
The drama concerning the deleted posts is hilarious. You act like this is the first time posts have been deleted. Cripe...get over it. You go on and on about it everytime it happens. Geesh...and then you go crying to Melissa for comfort. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Melissa has more important responsibilities-babysitting should't be one of them. Aren't you ashamed to bother her with this nonsense? Give her a break.
-
Laura, did you read Athena's post?
I found it something I wanted to respond to, maybe you would like to respond also.
-
WOW Laura! Get over it? Do you think it's hilarious that members who need support are inappropriately banned from this site? Melissa certainly does need to be bothered with this until the bullying is addressed. Just because it isn't the first time, and especially because it isn't, is an illogical reason to "not bother her". Nobody is going to Melissa for "comfort". Gaaawd, how condescending. Aren't you ashamed of the bullying? Those who do it have no integrity and will never be accountable for inappropriately reporting any posts. It is the bullys that you should be telling "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". Instead, your post implies that you see nothing wrong with it. Do I understand you correctly?
-
"Bullying?" Who's bullying?
"...did you read Athena's post?"
Yes, I did...however, I refuse to play along with your grade school pledge game.
I am not condoning the deletees, but this is nothing new. If you can't accept it, simply refrain from visiting this thread. It's really that simple. And, it's obvious that most of you enjoy the drama. Gluttons for punishment, no doubt. How many times does Melissa need to remind you that she's working on "it". Rolling my eyes...

Hey!!!! Has anyone who is quoting those horrendous quotes to kill in the OLD Testament ever bothered to read the NEW Testament?. It's all about LOVE and how to live in peace with one another. Looks like after all these years mankind still preferes to follow the OLD one! It wasn't GOD who got things messed up. Mankind did when they decided to start institutionalized churches and then all the crap turned everything upside down, imo. My church is anyplace I want to pray. In my house, in the toilet, by a tree, or with the cat! I don't need to belong to a "group" in some big building to talk to God. Blue put it right. We are doomed because we prefere to stay unenlightened.
If you have found a church you prefere and can find love and peace there, good for you. Just please don't think that is the way for everyone. I think Jesus gave us a hint when he said "Where two or three are gathered together, there am I". Since He didn't say animals don't count, if I need a "two" I grab the cat. We have a great spiritual bond and we don't fight! Have a great loving day, ladies and any animals reading my post.

mellow1 ... go read Ann's post again - it does not say any such thing.
There is not a single person on this thread who does not know exactly how the 'deletion' game is played. It's not that the deleters are smarter than everybody else in figuring out how to do it. Nobody is impressed ... quite the contrary ... so why would anybody want to copy the bad behavior. I've only seen one person speak up that she thinks it is amusing and not something to get all riled up about. Certainly not a majority view ... thankfully.
I was glad I got to read the posts before they all got hit by the thought police. It was an interesting conversation. Hopefully Melissa will reinstate all the deleted posts ... make sure all restrictions are removed from the victims ... and show the member names of who reported each post. We have already been told that this feature would start the end of February or early March so nobody can say they were not warned that it could happen.
Maybe in this list of upgrades that is being worked on it would be possible to restrict the use of the Report this Post button to members with say over 100 or 200 posts? That would stop the creation of sock puppets just to delete. I suspect that BCO might have gained 5 new 'members' last night.
Edited to add: Waving to Eff, Konakat, enjoyful and lewing ... hope you will all be back and posting again soonest. Wear your tshirts proudly! I guess you made some good points ... no other reason I can see why some were so afraid of your comments that they had to remove them.
Athena ... per your request ... I did not report anything or anybody. It seems to me like a stupid thing to do. Personally I prefer when the comments I consider rude and obnoxious are allowed to sit out there for everybody to see.
-
Anybody else think that cancer is reaching epidemic proportions? Just heard on the news last night how many new cases of lung cancer are being diagnosed in young non-smoking women and a shocking amount of oral/head/neck cancers due to HPV. Kind of scary, no?
-
Laura, yes childish games and downright mean comments that you and some others make at your other home. Mocking people on a public forum is terrible and playing games by running back and reporting over there>>>>>>>with glee what happens back here
. I must say that I have seen your posts on other threads here and they seem sincere and supportive so I was quite surprised to see that you are one of the antagonizers on this thread and then you run to your other place and mock in such a terrible way. I am still stunned that you ladies behave that way.
BTW, i don't consider the use of the F word to be childish or awful and in fact.... sometimes necessary!
Beth -
Laura, your comments have astounded me.
As for me, I have never hit the delete this post. I can get down and dirty but let that out in my comments. I don't sneak around behind the scenes like a snake.
-
Pickle .. I agree .. sometimes the only word that works is the f' word.
I thought Laura's post was coldhearted, especially to all the nice gals who got deleted that didn't break any rules. I had MTF syndrome and had to read what was going on. Couldn't help myself. arghh. And now I wish I hadn't.

pickle - It's interesting that you follow me around from thread to thread and to the other site. Is that considered stalking?
"a shocking amount of oral/head/neck cancers due to HPV"
Could this have something to do with the excessive use of cell phones? Can't help but wonder. Two close friends of mine (both young), non-smokers, have developed lung cancer in the last year. It's horrible.
-
I think the farkling frikadilling word is GREAT and very useful!
-
I think it's rather refreshing that posters see no need to even pretend that they're upset about the deletions. And, see no need to deny that they were involved. And see no reason to hide their disdain for those who think the deletions were mean and a violation of BCO rules. Shows their true character, doesn't it?
-
That is why their posts DON'T get deleted. it is far, far more instructive to let them stand in all their "glory."
-
Laura, I am hoping against hope that you haven't read through the past few pages properly.
Because if you DID read through them, you must surely be implying, in some way, that Konakat can go and have her WBR and get over it and stop complaining if she can't reach out of support. I want to hope that you are not implying this.
And is Melissa really too busy to be worrrying about the accessibility to this site for a Stage IV sister who needs support in a breast cancer support forum as she undergoes scary treatment?
When you delete, you effectively ban and/or severely restrict future postings too, as you know. The fact that a person's posting disappears isn't the big deal by itself (although it is a violation of BCO rules) - it is that she is unable to speak properly for a while.
So let's hear it Laura - is that the message you are sending Konakat at this time?
Or would you want to go back and read a few pages over again to see if you missed the implications of the deletion of this poster. I won't ask about the other three, since I am sure you believe they should be silenced, whereas you should be allowed to speak.
Anything to say to KK directly, Laura?
-
Laura...don't flatter yourself, it's really unbecoming and somewhat desperate!

Edited for typo but still can't fix link.
The Supreme Court has just ruled in favor of the Westboro Baptist Church's right to freedom of speech, even though that speech is repulsive.
Juxtapose that with a small group of vigilantes here who believe they have the right to silence voices they disagree with.
-
And here we go again.
The Moderators will reinstate the deleted posts and posting priviliges today since no one violated BCO rules. In the meantime, the deleters are no doubt celebrating their pitiful, ineffective, and adolescent "victory."
Congrats, girls. Don't forget to include this one on your resume.

"Bullying?" Who's bullying? (HUH?)
"...did you read Athena's post?"
Yes, I did...however, I refuse to play along with your grade school pledge game. (The deleters are the ones playing grade school games.)
Rolling my eyes...(Noooo, it's really Not that simple! It has nothing to do with accepting it on this thread. This is a board wide issue and it's not acceptable. Melissa can continue to remind us that she's working on it until it is accomplished. It's only been years since some of these resolutions were promised). -
Alpal: It is very obvious that I am disgusted with the deletions and certainly have no part in them. If I don't like what a person posts, I either ignore it or reply and take a chance on getting myself deleted. I have sent PMs to Melissa many times urging her to take her responsibility in this terrible matter and give us some help. By ignoring it, she is condoning it, imo. A while back she posted she was in the process of giving us some help by at least letting us know who the deleters are. That help is yet to come. I thought this type of bullying by the deleters stopped after grade school but unfortunately, it hasn't. If Melissa is reading any of these posts, she is well aware how much we need her help. I think the least she should do is respond to us and let us know IF she intends on helping us with this needless, cruel problem. We can't help ourselves unless she at least releases the names of the deleters to us. That is the least she should do, imo.
-
Maybe instead of hitting the delete button unecessarily you could go for a walk...call a friend... paint your nails... measure the hair on your head (mine is 1 1/2 inches!!!)...
Be good to yourself and maybe you won't feel the need to strike out and hurt other people.

Very sad to see what happened last evening. We truly need to stay away from religion. Indeed, I reinstated posts today. These are simply differences in religion, customs, and broad generalizations should be avoided under all circumstanceas. We are here to support each other as WOMEN, not as "Christians," "Jews," "Muslims," "Athesits." Women who all have the the same disease in common, and in general, share being a woman.
Can we please get back on track with respect, and an open-mind to learning about these differences. We are thrilled by the diversity on these boards. I alone have learned so much -- and need to remain open-minded to learn.
Let's start over.
Melissa
-
Thank you Melissa.
-
Thanks Melissa for getting back to us so quickly. Glad to see you reinstated the posts and posters!
Religion is a hot-button issue. I think we can easily back away from that topic.

Thanks, Melissa.

I thought the "Tea Party" mantra was "Don't Tread on Me", don't deny individual freedoms, etc. However, it seems the individuals doing the deleting have an agenda of controlling speech, religion, and any choice in many matters. It seems that in their perfect world, BCO would only cater to the needs of caucasian, conservative individuals who belong to an accepted religion. Muslims, Jehovah's Witness, Buddhists or any others who do not conform need not apply, at least if the deleters had their way. It does not seem to matter that the beast breast cancer does not discriminate in any way,and that everyone affected by it needs support and empathy, with their deletions and their taunts, they disrespect everyone who does not adhere to their point of view. What a sad little world they exist in.
I logged on yesterday morning and peeked in briefly as it was a busy hospice day. I was fascinated by what Efflorescing and others had to say, and hoped to join the conversation after my Dad was settled for the night. However, I was horrified that yet another raid by the speech police had commenced and the deletions and bans had occurred. Even more horrifying, and downright inhumane, was the targeting of our Stage IV sister, who needs our support and understanding more now than at any other time. I did not see every post yesterday before they were deleted, but I suspect, just as I was targeted in the other thread the TP Trolls were successful in shutting down, that no BCO rules were violated. The bit I saw yesterday, even with certain individuals being on ignore and my being unable to see their posts, I could tell by the responses that the taunts and the inflammatory comments had begun. I should have gotten on and started lobbing brussel sprouts as I believe the intent is the same as it always had been, they want to shut this thread down.
Do not engage the trolls! DO NOT FEED THEM! Recognize the behaviors, the speech patterns and use that ignore button, and post some more fascinating facts about possums, or some great recipes.
Personally, I think I may ask my gun toting Democrat husband to go out and bag me some opposum or caribou, and I am going to stuff it with tea leaves and fire up the barbie!.
-
athena - There you go AGAIN...totally twisting my words to make it seem as though I am uncaring. This really is very typical behavior and quite pitiful. I sent KK a very supportive and genuinely sincere PM...but that's really none of your business.
No offense Melissa, but I wouldn't take your job for all the tea in China! lol
"The Supreme Court has just ruled in favor of the Westboro Baptist Church's right to freedom of speech, even though that speech is repulsive."
Large groups of people have showed up at Westboro protests to form a human shield to block out Westboro's hateful words. All in an effort so the families of the deceased are not subjected to their words or presence.
