Funny, I like cleaning day. Or at least I like the day after.
-
Kay - LOL - I just don't have the time seeing I work full time. This has been a good opportunity seeing Steve is away and I've got nothing else to do.
I went mad and tidied and cleaned my desk - just can't stop can I?
Thinking about going shopping to get a case for my new camera that I got free from one of my loyalty point thingies - I see it's worth $160, so it shows collecting points when you shop is well worth it.

We only clean once a month. It really just gets a bit dusty, but we have better things to do than clean every week. Its just the two of us and the pups don't shed, so all in all, not bad. Plus I have very high ceilings. They make the place look clean! hahahahaha!
P.S. In my younger and more able days, I used to vacuum every day, after dinner, This after putting in a full day's work! My house had to be spotless at all times. I was nuts!!!!!!
-
The problem with our house is that it made of wood - dado rails (chair rail) on all of the walls ie a decorative strip at about window height in every room - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wall.svg - great for accumulating dirt. We have our windows open pretty much year round (with fly screens) so the dirt gets in. In this climate nothing I can really do about it.
Did a google and found some nice camera cases, so I think I'll actually get dressed and go and get one.
-
We finally got the new series of Downton Abbey showing here - just watched the first episode. I was really upset, as I knew they killed off Matthew before so I wasn't sure I wanted to watch - still I think I'll be ordering it on DVD from the UK - so I don't have to watch the bloody ads.

Morning Gals,
The sun is shining and it's supposed to get up to 70 today. Yay! Perfect weather ... of course this coming week more snow and rain are forecast. Going to wash the car today and pretend it's already spring time!
Yay for Canada! Too bad we can't give Bieber back to them.
Hope everyone has a really great day ... time to get dressed and head outside.
hugs,
Bren -
Yaaaay Canada!!!! And no thanks you get to keep Bieber (and Ted Cruz) - if you're not nice we're going to send Rob Ford down to you as well - just think of us as "Canada the gift that keeps on giving".

That radiation burned my esophagus just enough to be irritating. If this keeps up I'll get to wear smaller jeans. That would be a small consolation huh?
Still no energy to speak of but I'm conserving for next weeks trip. So take that old tired body. My onc gave me a script for Ritalin. I think I should try it after the MUGA test on Tuesday Don't want the tech to freak out if my heart racin Nascar speeds
-
Chicky ... glad to hear the onc gave you some Ritalin. I've been on it in the past and it really helped with my focus and minute attention span. That was just a side effect. I was actually prescribed stimulant medication to assist my depression meds. The really wonderful side effect was for the first few months, it curbed my appetite and I was able to get started on a weight reduction program. As far as Ritalin goes, I started with half a tablet until I could see what the effects would be.
It sucks that your esophagus is getting burned by the rads. That stinks as a weight loss tool. How many more rads do you have?
hugs to you,
Bren
PS .. Sandy .. you crack me up!
-
chickadee- where is your holiday? Hope it's someplace warm & sunny, and GOOD FOR YOU for getting Ritalin. I didn't have radiation, but friends who have, said it was exhausting. Hope ti works for you too!
I'm not joining the cleaning conversation, cuz I don't do it very often! Bare floors ( allergies galore) small by choice space, and neat by nature. All that being said - what the F makes all those "dust bunnies" - seriously, I've always wanted to know. I use a Swifter thingie, and one of my chemo paper masks to keep the dust away from my allergic nose, but I'm amazed at how QUICKLY those things form in places under bed, bookcases, places I don't walk - no pets ( allergies), happily alone, very happy actually ;-) So what makes all the dust??? This is not a rhetorical question, it makes me crazy ( crazier)
Happy Gold Medals CANADA...
-
Dust bunnies are my friends! Aren't they cute?

-
-
haha!

-
Just to be clear, the Bieber was fine until he went south of the border.
Chick, would a nice cold smoothie help?
-
Rads done Friday so for now I'm free. Its hard to believe something could make you so weak but I'm giving into it to be ready for my flight next Tuesday. My friend has some driving trips for scenery so we will have a nice time I know. He visited here a month ago so he's aware of my challenges.
Here the unusual part, he's my ex brother law from 30 years ago. He always wanted a sister and we just get along. Now my ex turned into a prickly pear Jesus freak, and I can tell you never in a million years would I have seen that. He can't forgive or forget and resents his brother for maintaining the friendship. Some chino he is.
What a waste of energy.
-
"Chino"?
-
I'm betting it's "Christian in name only," which I'm stealing!
-
me too!
-
Lots of those around!
We didn't end up cleaning today but we spent our time setting Mr. T (our turtle) in a bigger tank. Oh well. that was more fun!
-
Yes you guessed it.
-
Thanks for clarifying. I thought it might be a spell checker thing but that makes sense.
-
Chick, sorry about the neck rads issue. My sister-in-law is having the same issue but the rads are for lung cancer. She just started on magic mouth-wash to help heal. Was losing so much weight ( she was quite slim anyhow ) that she has some trouble supporting herself etc. I am glad your rads session will soon be done.
CHINO --- quite a population it would seem.

Blue, you always come up with the best pictures.
-
ooooohhhh...Blue, what a picture. I wonder if the butterflies are photoshopped?
chino. Great ( new to me) word. Goes on the list with fascery. Learn good stuff here.
l love the dust bunnies, but still wanna know where they come from??????

Morning Buddies,
I've caught Suzie's cleaning bug. Been very busy this morning since Tim left. Not finished yet, but took a break to walk the dogs. It's another gorgeous day ... not too warm, but the sun is shining. While the weather was so nice yesterday, I worked in the yard getting up all the tree limbs on the grounds and raking up twigs.
I had to laugh when I read the posts last night .. I thought chino's were a type of pants. Like khakis.
Blue .. I would much rather make a new home for my turtle than clean. Is it a box turtle or the kind that goes in water? When it warms up we see box turtles on our walks all the time.
Chicky .. Hope your throat is feeling better today.
hugs to all,
Bren

You guys ... I got the first of two checks that horrible job owes me. The problem is they shorted me for 700 lines. I sent an email yesterday to the HR lady and now it's noon, and I still haven't heard back from her.
How long should I give her to get back to me? I need to put that money in the bank and pay for heating fuel! Should I follow up with a phone call or see if she gets back to me sometime today?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Bren
PS .. Blue ... love the picture of the horse and puppy together ... looks like there are some goats in the background too!
