Thanks Bren. I get a lot of those pics from my feed on FB. Mr. T is a water turtle. We put him in a 10 gallon tank but eventually, he will need a bigger one. We had this one in the basement so made use of it.
I would follow up with a phone call, but that's just me.
-
Bren, squeaky wheel get the grease. Call as many times as it takes.
I'm probably going to get an epidural in my spine this Thursday for miserable leg (both) pain, stemming from a pinched femoral nerve, stemming from a herniated disc. Ugh, can't wait to feel "normal" again. I have to ask other people pick up things I drop because I cannot bend over any more. Standing for more than a few seconds is difficult. Walking for any distance is excruciating.
I've been in physical therapy for 3 weeks but not seeing enough improvement.
-
Bren - I would also put it in writing, at least for the record. If they don't respond via phone, send them a certified letter. Just in case you need to go to Small Claims.
Yorkie - so sorry. For sure have you been dx'd with a herniated disc? Is this something you've been dealing with long term?
-
Bren, what I've heard from doctors is that many of us have herniated disc and never get symptoms (pain). Unfortunately mine seems to be pinching a major nerve. The herniated disc was confirmed by an MRI last year. I suspect it, or rather its effects on my nerve, has gotten worse since then.
-
Yorkie .. I am so sorry to hear about your herniated disc and pinched nerve. I bet that hurts. Tim is the same way with his back ... can't bend down to pick anything up. I hope the injection helps.
Kam .. Very good suggestion about the letter. I'll give her until the end of today to respond to me, and if she doesn't, tomorrow I will send a letter and start calling twice a day.
Like Yorkie said about the squeaky wheel ... I can be really squeaky when I need to be and quite persistent.
hugs
Bren
-
Bren - call them and keep calling until you get it fixed.
((((((((((Yorkie)))))))))
Car radio now decoded and now does not have a code - yeah - was able to listen to my Jersey Boys coming home.
Steve miserable and wants to come home - it's only a few days. I told him, he booked it - I knew it was way too long to be away and spending so much time with someone else.
-
Suzie .. I'm going to start calling tomorrow. I did send a follow-up email which she responded to. She's very scatterbrained ... didn't even remember that I was not an employee per se, I was an independent contractor. Hopefully, she can get this squared away.
Poor Steve ... he misses home. Two weeks is a long time to be gone. Tim really does not like staying out for 2 weeks at a stretch. Where did Steve go? Can't remember, except that it was for golf.
hugs,
Bren

My new kitten. He "jets in" on 3/15 or 3/22. It's a boy! Ok, going to be honest, getting one of these guys is harder than heck, so I took this offer because he is already born and almost "done." The breeder was keeping him or brother as a possible show cat, but decided on the other boy. He's not my ideal Devon, but I'm sure once he's home his charm will possess me. The breeders stress "he's funny," then curious, playful and smart. His coat will fill out as he gets older and the red will get redder. He is 12 weeks in this picture.

Now for me fears. Making such a committment (15-20 years) with this BC hanging over my head while I'm getting this unexplained sciatic. Ofcourse, you know how it is, every pain is cancer until it's not. I hope because he is a Devon, I wouldn't have a hard time finding him a second home, if need be. It worries me, though.
-
Bren - he went to the Sth Island of NZ
Kam - he is cute - what are you going to call him?
-
Squeeeee, what a cutie! Kam what's not ideal about him?
My cortisone epidural had to be pushed back a week due to scheduling problems.
-
Kam .. your new kitty is really sweet. What are you going to name him? And where is he flying in from? Those big ears crack me up! I bet you can't wait to get him home. I'm not going to have any more pets once Maggie and Tank pass on. At this age, I just can't take on another 15 year commitment.
Yorkie .. sorry to hear your injection got moved back. I hope the pain isn't too bad and you have something you can take for it.
hugs,
Bren

Thanks Bren. I'll get by. I take Aleve every day and it helps a little bit. Hoping my physical therapy is also helping, but not feeling the love yet.

His given name is Prince Lune from a Japanese animation The Cat Returns. Something like that. I love names that I can play with. Ms Boo was Boudhini, Boodalicious, Boodacious, Ba-boo and ofcourse my own special way of saying Ms Boo. My gf noted that Prince Lune has the same phonetic qualities as Ms Boo - funny, and he's funny, so Lune and Looney, Lune Moon...Lune rhymes with with so many things. I will wait til he lives with me for awhile and see what name fits him.
Bren - he flies in from Seattle....an 1.5 hour flight. Poor thing. I can't bear to think of him taking that journey alone, but he will be in a pressurized cabin. I was reading about another Devon owner in Italy who had to hang with her 2 new Devon kittens in the Milan airport for 5 hours and she set up shop in the woman's handicap bathroom. Apparently, her kittens were quite comfortable wherever she was in the airport, and she even took them out of their carriers while waiting at the gate. People just loved to stop and talk to her about them.
Yorkie - there is a look with the Devons that I really adore, but they are few and far between and the majority in Europe. If that look were ever bred in a Devon here, the breeders would snap him/her up:
No posting pics this hour - I'm on a Mac

-
Maybe I really love little "Lune's" looks because he's a redhead like my youngest grandson. :-)
-
Gorgeous Kitty!
-
does he look a little like Wendell when he was a baby. Brothers from different Mamas. He is adorable.
-
Ya Wendel had to grow into his ears!
-
LOL - there is a Wendelish quality about Lune. The thing is, big ears are the breed, so I hope he does NOT grow into his ears. The bigger the better!! (Must be set off to the side, though, not take off from the top of the head).
-
Lune-Luna -- just too cute.
Yorkie....sure wishing you could have had that appt. but Aleve is pretty good so here's hoping it keeps you going all right.
Long day, and will be a short night so time to dump myself in bed. Five days to go and I'll go back to my regularly scheduled work. Pay will sure come in handy though.

Morning Ladies,
It's cold here. I got spoiled by those couple of days in the 60's.
I'm thinking about taking a trip to San Diego in late April with my mom. I really miss my son and his family. My grandsons are growing so fast. It will be Isaac's 10th birthday in April. He's such a neat kid, I love to spend time with both of them. They will be on vacation when I go, but my son and his wife will be at work ... so I get the kids all to myself for a couple of days. Just depends on what Tim says and if we can afford it. My mom said she would help with my ticket.
Guess I better get busy on that list of names I have. I think there are about 350 names on this list, so that's a good start!
hugs to all,
Bren
PS .. Kam ... the names for your kitty are really cute!
-
Kam, your little Prince is a darling cutie! About the big ears: I'm not a fan of them, although many are. I used to have Siamese and certain breeders are (in my mind) destroying the look of the American Siamese by breeding the ears to be bigger and bigger, and set farther apart.
My little Abby (Abyssinian) missed the "Show" scene because her ears weren't set far apart enough. I'm glad about that, cuz she's the sweetest, most lovable and affectionate puss we've ever had. And her ears are big, but not TOO big!
Anyhow, Prince Lune sounds like he will be an absolute joy to have. Maybe he'd also be happy with an older rescue cat. Two cats in the house are better (and more entertaining) than one, IMHO!
-
C4C long time no see! Glad to see a post from you!

Hi Gals,
I am about to pull my hair out. I keep going round and round with HR about the 701 lines I was not paid for. I specifically wrote it all down the day I left as I didn't want there to be any problems. I told the lady in HR that if she couldn't get this resolved today that tomorrow I would be sending a registered letter. 701 lines is not a lot of money at 8 cents a line ... it's peanuts really, but I worked my ass off for those lines. It took me 9 straight hours to get them.
I'm pissed and frustrated with that idiot HR person. She is so dense. I had written her the first time about Delivered vs Transcribed lines in the software function that counts your lines. You could have way more transcribed but they only count the Delivered lines. I specifically told her I was an IC and I counted Delivered lines on her software. The note she sent back to me said they only count Delivered lines. Duh ... didn't I just write that to her! She's about as bright as a rock.
Sorry for the rant ... just skip over it if you want.
hugs,

Carrots .. It is so good to see you. I hope all is well with you and DH.

Waving at you C for C.

Hi ladies. I've been busy doing something - not sure what exactly, but something. Today was a weed getting day, as it was nice and dry for a change. I also dug into some sewing patterns, got out some silk and started a light-weight tank-top for our upcoming trip to Hawaii. I had 5 of them, but unfortunately our last house cleaner decided to relieve me of 4 - which left me wanting (needless to say, she no longer cleans our house, either...). I've purchased a couple new ones when I can find a good sale, but my sewing machine needs a workout, so I guess I'll make one or two as well as a pair of pants. I'll see how they turn out.
Friday I will go to the orthopedist and see what he has to say about my excruciatingly painful shoulder. I was hoping it would get better when I quit work, but instead it's gotten consistently and painfully worse. Now when I type or sew or do much of anything I then have to stretch and rest my arm and down some willow bark. I am really really tired of the pain.
I've also been cooking a little more than usual.
-
Gardengumby, there is nothing quite as tiring as dealing with pain. I hope they can help you with that.
-
Waving hi to C for C and GG.....I think pip is right. It is a faster trip getting the worn down and out feeling when you are looking at life through pain.
Four more work days.....I'm up to the long ones right now....from 7:15 a.m. until 10 p.m. The pay is good though and the work is fairly easy so I'm not wearing out. Have found that starting so early is hard for me. Most of my work the last few years hasn't started until 10 a.m. --- so I'm bleary for a couple of hours till my body catches up.
