Shirley and Laura: Gee, it was so lonely not getting to read your posts since I think I have already memorized whatever you post. It seems to always be on the same theme. You, imo, really need to take a break from watching the Beckster. I think everyone with a brain who watches any tv knows what you are trying to shove down our throats is "true". The world is filled with insane, imo, extremists who are dedicated to taking down the US and as much of the World with it! You seem to love to throw the word "JIHAD" at us. Well why don't you also tell us what YOU think our country should do about it?
Did you not hear in the news this morning that our states are so broke the elderly nursing home patients I spoke about not too long ago who are on Medicaid are facing a great dilemma! We are up to our ears in financial problems in the US and yet you seem to want us to be saviors of the entire world! Why don't you show some compassion for people in your own country who may not get the medical care they need or have places to live if many nursing homes have to close? As my beloved mom always said "Clean up your own house, before you try to clean up someone else's"! I think the US has to prepare to protect it's own citizens before it uses money we don't have to tell other nations how to behave. I would just like to read some of your posts where you show as much concern for those suffering in your own country as you do for those around the world.
Are those people in your videos Extremists?? I would say "Insanely So!" You don't have to convince me the world is full of horrors but my first compassion goes to my own people and my own country. We are no longer the "great" financially wealthy nation who can be Big Brother Protector to the world. Big Brother can barely take care of his own relatives IMO!
Gee, it's so great to be home again! I'll have to put my personal problems aside more so I won't miss any more enlightening videos to convince me the world is going to Hell. I have news for you. We are already in Hell! Have a great day (while we can!).
I C&P your entire post because it's been a while since I've been here.
My, my, my....aren't WE in a bad mood YESTERDAY. Let me refresh your memory, Medigal. Eff asked us what we thought extreme/moderate Muslim/Islam is...something like that. She didn't ask us about other religions. And all of you start jumping on the word "EXTREMISTS" instead of ISLAM Extremists.
Seems to me, Medigal, that some extremists from the Middle East tried to clean house in our country. They tried to destroy the way in which we live. We are Infidels to them. They hit the towers to try and take down our financial system. The Pentagon, obvious. Of course we had heroes taking down the airplane in Penn. or it may have been going to the WH. So, please don't jump on me because someone else came on here asking questions and everyone has skirted answers. Of course I'm only on page 170 so I may be wrong.
Don't preach to me about the elderly. I happen to know plenty enough about that. You are so right...our country has gone to hell. We do agree on something.
I don't think I have said that we need to go to the ME and start a war. But, Medigal, we certainly need to watch with GREAT interest (if you know what I mean)...especially Saudi Arabia.

Ahhh okay, Barbara. Perhaps those exact words weren't used after all and I'm just reacting to the tone, particularly PatMom's attack on Eff.
And Shirley, I suppose we are guilty of "cleaning house" in Iraq as well?

I c&p your entire post because I haven't been here in a while???? Weren't you here last night? I could have sworn that was you screaming at us.

Why do Muslims want to kill Americans ?
Erica, that statement shocks me in its ignorance. Did you know that Muslims and Americans are one and the same in millions of cases? American = one of US nationality. Muslim = One of Islamic religion
The only way in which your statement logically makes sense is if we assume from it that American citizens who are Muslims all want to commit suicide.
And you must think Eff is some sort of encyclopedia if you think she has to know everything that is going on in other countries.
Should you and I be quizzed about the crusades in the Middle ages because we are of Christian background, and should you and I have to answer for the Spanish Inquisition, the violence in Northern Ireland or the passivity of the Vatican during World War II?
Are Christian (Protestant) preachers around the country who justified Katrina and 9/11 as a Christian God's wrath something you and I can explain to Eff? What should we tell her? How should you and I, together, as people of a Christian tradition (I am an atheist but nominally a Christian), defend the good Rev. Wright, Obama's former pastor? The violation of thousands of boys by catholic clergy? What should we tell Eff about that?
If you don't think these are fair questions, I couldn't agree with you more.

No one answered my question. Why is that ?

River Rat - Add "Infidel" to your reading list. I read the book in a day, I simply could not put the book down
Here is the link to Amazon. The heroic woman has written 7 books. Infidel is her best selling one. You can read about her and all of her books on this site
http://www.amazon.com/Ayaan-Hirsi-Ali/e/B001H6O0P2/ref=sr_tc_ep?qid=1299005182
Bren - do you have any link to back up what you said ? THanks
PEACE to opossums and to all here

Your question is based on untruths, Daisy. Not all Muslims want to kill all Americans.

Speaking of Israel - I've been waiting for the Becksters to weigh in on the his latest gaffe about the Jewish and his non apology. I'm particularly interested in Tupelo's thoughts on the subject. Thanks!
He did apologize. Do I need to post the link for that too? You can google and find it.

I don't need to see it again, once was enough. Thank you offering though. You don't "need" to do anything for me.

Where's my password?????? I'm crushed!!!!
I'm reading but not posting much....Frozen shoulder making it a little difficult.

Frozen shoulder? Been there, done that. Get thee to a PT.

Hi Blue .. I'm sorry to hear your frozen shoulder is causing you such pain. Are you still going to PT? Can the docs give you some meds for the shoulder?
Patmom .. which post is in violation of the rules? I didn't see anything like that.

ShirleyHughes,
I suggest you Google "Glenn Beck Jews", "Glenn Beck Egypt", "Glenn Beck Catholics".

Shirley: I was not in a bad mood yesterday. I was just having a reaction to "your" post. I also was not responding to Eff, I was replying to "you". I am glad to read you agree with me on certain issues as I do, you.
LauraGTO: Have you joined a new religion and are speaking in "tongues" now? Does "Wahabbism" have some special spiritual meaning? If so, I have no idea what you are trying to say to us. Sounds like some kind of cooked rabbit dish you may have had for supper. I will google it and see what I come up with. Thanks!

You are all taking my post and twisting it. The link Eff posted was fill with misquotes from the BIBLE. No one answered it. Cry bigot all you want, and cover the truth
Do you realize there are approximately 11 threats to our country every day that are deemed credible enough to be taken up with the POTUS ?? EVERY SINGLE DAY. The majority are from Muslim extremists that want to kill Americans.
There are thousands of threats a day, the 11 a day are those are serious enough to be taken up with PoTUS and top level security

Have you had PT BLue ?? Sorry about that, I know how painful it is
-
Notself - I came up with that exact link. It's fascinating. Certainly haven't had the chance to read all (or even most) of it yet. One thing jumped out at me, tho. They lump all the other Muslims in with the Christians, Jews, etc. Could you get a date on it?
-
Erica31; Only "11 threats"? I'm surprised it isn't more but that still does not mean that ALL Muslims are extremists who want to kill Americans. I think basically most humans are just trying to survive best they can in whatever nation they happen to be a part of. So all the You Tubes and spouting off by Beckster worshippers will not convince me differently. It just means the people we pay to protect us should be doing their jobs and "protecting" us from "any" extremist, any place who wants to destroy us.
-
BTW - there are certain posters on here who will immediately discredit this info because it's from PBS. Even though it appears to back up some of their arguments!
-
Medigal - Wahabbism is the Islamic branch practiced by the Saudi Royal Family and, thus, citizens of Saudi Arabia.
I wonder how folks in North America feel about the slaughter (by Christians escaping persecution In Europe, or just trying to find more land to settle on) of the indigenous people? Some estimates of the number killed are upwards of 19 million. Hitler is said to have studied the "American solution". History books and Hollywood movies have instilled in you that the natives were the enemy and thus deserved to be slaughtered. Well, they weren't. They lived here, many tribes had well-established settlements, farms, industry.
But all those Europeans decided "this land was THEIR land" and proceeded to take it by force. Wonder how you all feel about that? I'm ashamed, even though the British government took a slightly different route in Canada and tried to assimilate them. In fact, The indigenous people under the great leader Tecumseh fought side by side with the Brits during the 1812 War. History books about that war show that the Americans were deathly afraid of the "Indians". No wonder, with the way the native peoples had been systematically removed from their lands, experienced broken treaty after broken treaty, so many of them slaughtered, and then used whatever forces they could muster to defend themselves.
I thought it was pertinent to bring this issue into this particular conversation. It's important to learn the real history of one's country.

Oh...PBS hasn't been defunded yet?
-
....raising hand to request that we keep in mind that the word Muslim describes the follower of a religion. The term American describes a citizen of the United States. (Can't believe I am saying this.) So if Muslims want to kill Americans - or, indeed, if Americans want to kill Muslims, for that matter, we will have a major civil war on our hands, as well as a holocaust in the way of mass suicide.
