Welcome towardshealing! I remember radiation being such a chore - hour drive each way, more time getting undressed and dressed than actual treatment, machines going down so long waits, etc. But the staff was always so wonderful! It will be over before you know it. I continued working while doing radiation, and didn't notice a significant decrease in energy level. I'm also on an aromatase inhibitor, I just finished year 4 on it (did 2 of tamoxifen first), and go for a bone density scan later this month. Had a baseline when I started, and then one 2 years ago, that showed some loss but nothing to be concerned about (according to doc).
I am feeling so much better, now DH is under the weather. As colds go for me, this was relatively short, for which I am grateful. Today was meals on wheels, a bit challenging with our big snowstorm from last week, as some of our clients don't get plowed out. Temps were above freezing, so it was a good day to be out and about. Also squeezed in classical stretch today too.
Nashville in October sounds wonderful!
I too have difficulty finding the fitbit group, but I do see many of you as friends. Vargadoll, all those steps count! Don't you dare say you are the least active
Any movement is good for you movement!
-
Thank you for the welcome. Hope you DH feels better Pat!
If anyone wants to add me on Fitbit my email address is sballen17@gmail.com 🌸

I did it! I hit 10,295 steps today! That's a really big milestone for me! They are still working on the floors so Jim and I ran out for something to eat tonight. On the way back I realized I was up to 7300 steps, so I had him drop me off at the gate and I walked home. But when I hit our driveway, I realized I was up around 9500 so I went back out and walked around the block. Not sure I will do this every day but I am sure going to try for at least 3-4 days a week.
Welcome. Towardshealth! Varga - you and I are almost the same diagnosis, too
-
Thanks for the welcome, Snickers, that is a great accomplishment. I love it when I have those personal best days.
Today I am struggling to reach 4000 steps but I know I can make it up later in the week. I try and average 20-25 miles a week walking but in the winter it’s often walking circles indoors. Beats sitting on the couch right?
-
Hi Towardshealth. I just sent you a PM. I actually felt an energy start to return during radiation, so hopefully it will be the same for you!
Snickers......whoo hoo on stepping it up!
We are in the path of a winter storm starting sometime tomorrow (it's already really foggy), so I ran around l crazy both doing errands & exercising. I went to Zumba this morning (the instructor had strobe lights going so it was a sort of disco zumba.....so fun!). I took the grandpuppies for another walk as it was really sunny and mild out....also very fun, and I went to POUND tonight. This way, if I am trapped in the house, I can sit around and eat bon bons.......not really, I actually dusted off my old Richard Simmons Food Mover and will use it until I get the Holiday Pounds off. I have used different online food logs, but this is way easier; you just close windows as you eat the allotted amount in the various food groups....when the windows are closed, you quit eating.
-
Towardshealth is now my fitbit friend & I suggested the others of you who are in our group to her. So if you get a request from Susan, that's who it is! If anyone is confused as to who's who, let me know and I will private message you with our BCO & Fitbit names.
-
Vargadoll, here is how to get to the Fitbit group (on my laptop anyway):
1. log into your fitbit dashboard
2.One of the choice on the scroll across the top is 'Community', click on that
3. You then will see 3 options, click on 'Activity Groups'
4. We should be on the top of the page under the heading of 'Your Groups'
-
I exercised along with one of my special ed kids yesterday. Thought I was going to die after 10 sit ups and 10 jumping jacks! Im.under a CRAZY deadline for annual reports, last one is due today and I haven’t started. Got the others done tho. Once all this work crud is done I can get back to the y. We take DS on the 800 mile trip back to school on sat. Hope there is no big storm for the great lakes!
Supposed to be warmer today. May walk outside at lunch. DH got me a salad for lunch when he and DS went to the corner pub to see Marquette basketball. Hope good lunch keeps me on the straight and narrow today. I struggle with eating well.I can be so song with other things in my life, and so weak with my diet! What a character flaw!
-
Ruth, I tried your suggestion to find our group on my phone app, and it didn't work. But I can see all of you as friends! Towards, I sent you a friend request as well, but Ruth, I never got your suggestion to add her. Weird. Sometimes I think fitbit has a few bugs in it. Like I can always sync with my phone, but seldom sync with my tablet.
Sun is shining here, but 15 degrees when I got up. Got my classical stretch in, now on to chores. Going to the theater tonight with friends to see The Bodyguard.
-
Maybe you need to be on a laptop or tablet? I spend a lot of time trying to figure things out on their Help page (with mixed results!)
We had a small group of Walking Women today. The Snowbirds have gone south of the winter, a couple others are traveling, and a couple others had something else going on. We are still expecting a storm starting later today. I hope it waits until after Zumba and Yoga (so, weather gods, if you are reading this, wait until 8 pm).
-
Here's a cute dog walking picture from our three day January Thaw.
-
I have tried everything to find the group...lol. I even logged out and back in....no luck! I do see you all in my friends list.
This is it when I hit groups. All public big groups. No way to search for a group either. I might just fire up the laptop and try from there. My tablet and phone are both Samsung and I get the same screen on both.
Love the wild dogs picture! To cute nothing but sleeping cats over here.
Tuesday is my slow day. I started a new therapy for my fibrosis and cording yesterday and today I'm wiped out . Wonder if there's a connection . PT this afternoon and hopefully an energy boost ! Get Movin girls
-
Varga - that's the screen I got, too.So I just looked at Friends and that's where everyone is. Maybe it's a different screen depending on the device being used. I have an IPad and IPhone 6S. but I only have the Fitbit app on my phone
-
Hi guys, Ruth just added me to the fitbit group & I've been sending out friend requests too
Ping me if I missed someone & you want to friend.
cheers -

The link above is live; so if you click on BCo Sculpted Friends, you can get in that way if no way else.
-
I am confused though, who is Dawn?
-
fwiw, I can see the group on my laptop in the browser but not on the iPad or on my android phone
It appears that it's an issue at their end https://community.fitbit.com/t5/iOS-App/Can-I-see-... -
Thank you Ruth!! Moth, thank you to! I was losing it trying to figure out why I couldn't find it! I'm no tech expert but I do ok ...haha!
I'm always moving just not in the form of exercise. Laundry, housework, chasing g-babies and volunteering. Hope to get back to so real exercise soon!
-
Welcome towardshealing! I've been in the office the past couple of days and just haven't got around to reading the posts. Looks like I missed a lot.
Snickersmom - That's awesome! Keep it up, you're doing great!
Vargadoll & Moth - Glad you were able to find the group. I'm only able to get to it on my PC. It doesn't go to activity groups on the app.
I was able to get 10000+ steps in the last 2 days. I'm hoping to reach it today after getting some elliptical time this evening.
Fitbit users who want to join the group - Here is a screenshot of the fitbit activity group under the Community menu. You should be able to add yourself by using the plus sign next to the group after searching for it.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Karen

RuthBru - that's my fault. She's a friend from quilting and somehow she got in our group by mistake. She doesn't have her Fitbit yet anyway! How do I get her out of the group
-
The warm-up is here! Supposed to be 55 tomorrow Feels like spring but it won't be! Went for a walk at lunch 27 minutes total and within that walk did 8 flights of stairs near the beginning and then 4 flights at the end of the walk.
Nashville in October would be fun. Every year I hope to go and so far it has never worked out, but maybe this year!
-
Snickers, she can be in the group if she wants to be. I just thought maybe I missed someone. If she wants to leave, when she's on the group page, right below BCO Sculpted Friends, it says 'Leave Group' in blue. I imagine if you click on that, you'd be out (I don't want to try it because it took too long to get IN). I should add that's how she'd do it on my laptop anyway.
Well, it starting snowing here about 3:00, it's coming down like crazy, and is supposed to last all night. I did go to Zumba (which is only a couple blocks from my house), but skipped yoga because it would have required driving down a steep hill which would have an hours worth of more of ice and snow when I tried to drive back up it. The thought did not put me into a Zen state of mind!
-
hi all and welcome Towardshealth! Nashville in October sounds great.
Spent most of Monday with mom after the epidural steroid injection. They said it could take up to a week to see any results. Went again after work on Tues night, cooked dinner, and went through her meds. OMG she has a lot of pills on-hand. Have to talk to the doc about that, and stop some of the auto-refills.
Took tonight off caretaking for mom to finish the December books for DH's business. Made a simple casserole with beef, cheese, noodles & sauce to take to mom's tomorrow night. Friday, she is treating me to fish supper in the dining room, which I am mainly doing to get her out of her apartment. She has a lot of friends and they miss her. Will be good to get her back in the community. Planning to spend the weekend at home and get to the gym both Sat & Sun. Then another round of doc appointments on Mon.
Haven't been to the gym in a few days but today was lunchtime yoga class aaaahhhh. ♥
-
Be careful out there, Ruth. How is your mom doing
-
Hi all. Been under the weather all day with allergies. Miss taking meds 2 days and the nose waterfall starts up again. Hoefully will be back to normal tomorrow.
Night sculpted friends.
-
Stay safe Ruth, at least you got your WWW walk and Zumba in today oh and a Stella walk. Badger hope you get some answers quickly and they can get her sorted out. Feel better Patoo.
Yesterday I did a Sprint class and tonight did Grit Strength. Lots of new people in in the class tonight, love it. -
Badger, hope the injections do the trick for your mother. Patoo, feel better quick. Nice photo in front of the fire Ruth. Oh yes Cheryl, the January gym memberships are swelling. Classes are impacted to the max, unusually with those on the waiting list standing about to see if someone who is on the class list is a no show, to jump in at last minute. Had that happen last night with a new member who arrived nearly four minutes into BB track 1, and had to yell sorry, the class has started and full. Number one January gym rule (at least where I live), be on time (or early), especially if it's your first time to a class. Like reading how many steps everyone is getting in daily and now a group connected - good stuff!
I've started a new community class on Tuesday mornings for those needing seated or standing assisted exercise, called Move it Or Lose It. Three women where there for the first class (first class is free) two were seated one standing and we had a ball, it's really a lot of fun. The music is age appropriate, with the balance portion done to Gene Kelly, Singing In The Rain and just to hear the song makes you feel happy and lifts the room to a super good feeling (put it on when members where drifting into the studio for Pilates last night and they loved it!). Had some free time yesterday morning and worked in a friends studio helping a young women to learn her tracks for BodyBalance/Flow for her upcoming training, to become an instructor. The Tuesday evening Pink Pilates class started first time with three new women and six total for the class, a sign that this added class is on the up. DH home ill today and son to pack car for dive via DH, back to uni tomorrow. Let's keep at it everyone!
-
Gosh badger, you have a lot on your plate. Ruth, we're getting the thaw today. We head for wisconsin on sat. Hope the storm doesn't hit too bad. I hate driving in the storms. My car isn't as good as DH'S in the snow, but his is less reliable due to age.
I see the LE PT today . Will be interesting, as I hate being on the receiving end!
-
Patoo - hope you feel better by tonight! Looking forward to dinner.
badger - I hope your mom improves after the shot in her back. You are dealing with a lot right now, so make sure you take some time here and there to come up for air and breathe. Keep us posted on how she is doing
.Our floors are done and we love them!!! Good thing, right? The painters were able to come early (originally scheduled for next Tuesday) and they will be here today and tomorrow. So we will have the weekend to clean some of this stuff and put it away. Our poor cat - Snickers - doesn't know what's going on. We have kept her on the lanai with us when the workers are here and she seems to feel more secure out here. She is having trouble with the floors because they aren't carpeted anymore. I think the noise of the bare floors scares her. Once everything is back where it belongs, she will be fine.
Have a good day everyone
