Pat my friend has a home in the mountains outside of Nashville that she rents out (and she keeps offering it to the sculpted sisters for our annual get together) and Roseann Cash has stayed there, my friend said that she was really lovely and wrote a beautiful thank you in her guest book. My goodness Ginger you really are having a time of it I hope they can get to the bottom of the problem. Ruth it really looks like you are had fun with the family, glad you were cleared now ease back in.
Sprint tonight, 30 minutes on a bike that kicks my behind!!!!! -
Ruth, I've been to Stillwater. My brother and his wife took me and hubby there once when we were back home visiting the family. We loved it there.
-
It is lovely and has lots of fun shops, restaurants etc. too.
Walked this morning with the ladies & will try out Zumba tonight.
-
Spent most of the day digging in the gardens, planting spring bulbs. Then went to Kinesis 55+ (for us older people) and yes got through the whole thing
I'll be very surprised if I don't sleep well tonight.
Have fun today, everybody!
-
Spoke to my ps today and he switched back to no restrictions. So I'm done trying to nail him down on what I can and cannot do at this point. It's a different answer every time I see him. I'm channeling my frustration into getting stronger. The leader of the Livestrong group called me incidentally to let me know there were openings for the new session, so I jumped on it. Excited to get started.
Love the pictures, Ruth. MN is on my list of places to travel. Saw our Y is starting pickleball this Fall. I might have to give it a try.
-
just finished a 75 minute yin yoga class....have my exchange on Friday...will be missing my classes for a month, but still trying to be strong for Friday
-
Just a quick post 2nite. Counteracted a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day with exercise.
90 mins @gym- 45 treadmill (disco classics!) & 45 weights (w/trainer) ==> 742 cal burned
-
Ruth you're all wearing sweaters yikes, I have to say the days are drawing in as when I came out of the gym it was dark. Hope tomorrow is better for you Badger.
Did Grit Strength and Body Pump Express classes tonight. -
Just back to the office from my last yoga pilates class for a month as I went from my 75 minute lunchtime workout direct to the PS for my final pre-op appt. Exchange tomorrow!!! Report to hospital at 11am...wow that will be a long time to wait with no water/food, have always had 6 or 6:30 am reports.
Think of me tomorrow. TT
-
Good luck, TT. We will definitely be thinking of you. Post when you are up to it.
Patoo, thinking of you and all our Florida friends as well. Stay safe!!!
I have been running around doing errands all day.I didn't even try to put exercise into my morning schedule! I think I have gotten enough done that I will walk the little puppies and maybe dust off one of my toning DVDs.
Cheryl, I love your expression 'the days are drawing in"; and yes, that is what they are doing here (although it is 86 degrees right now at 3:30 pm).
-
Good luck tomorrow, TrmTab. You'll be back to your classes before you know it.
Wk2 day2 C25k plus an extra mile of walking after.
Badger, I hope your day was better today.
-
Good luck tomorrow TT!
Today was a better day, thanks ladies. Yesterday, I got blindsided. My supervisor failed to tell me about a presentation at an all-staff meeting I've suspected for a month was coming my way and had been asking about. Well, I got the assignment yesterday afternoon via e-mail from the boss's assistant asking how much time I needed on the agenda. Dang it, I could have been working on it for the past month but now it's a big freaking rush - the meeting is next week - on top of everything else I have to do. My sup denied knowing about it but her sup told me she had been informed. One of them isn't telling the truth grrrrr I HATE liars. I have come to the conclusion that if they don't give me enough time to do my work, something will either get skipped or skimped, neither of which suits me, but that's the way it is.
Stopped by the gym after work for an InBody scan. Good numbers are up and bad numbers are down. I've lost fat and gained muscle. Trainer says that's hard to do (tell me about it, dude, I've been working at it!). Basal metabolic rate is up and visceral fat level is down. BMI (body mass index) and PBF (percent body fat) are down. Still have a way to go but it's great to see my hard work is paying off. Need to get something to eat then head back for some treadmill time.
Ruth, that nice weather is headed this way for the weekend but it was so cold last night I turned on the heat!
-
Holy crap it's been only since Aug 20 that I posted and I'm behind by like 15 pages!
Welcome new ladies - glad you're here but sad for the reason you're here. Cancer sucks.
I've been faithfully doing my 45 minute body sculpt class and 30 minutes treadmill on Tuesdays/Thursdays. Recently added 45 minutes Turbo Kick in place of the treadmill though for some more intense cardio. At the end of September they're adding a Wednesday body sculpt so will likely add that to my roster also.
Three months from today is my last Arimidex pill-YAY!!!!
Looking forward to celebrating 5 years cancer free on November 5 with my bc.org exercise buddies in Daytona😊.
Godspeed to all in Irma's path. Stay safe my friends
-
Oh - I was supposed to post a pic of a kitchen table makeover I did. This is my ds and ddil's old kitchen table remade into a patio coffee table.
-
70 mins @gym - all treadmill (more disco!) ==> 513 cal burned.
-
Good luck tomorrow TT. Badger what a pain and yes someone is not being honest with you grrrr but great news on all your results. Sweet we surely will celebrate with you. Ruth weather is crazy here too, it's been unbearably hot but starting to break. Thinking of Patoo and all our Florida friends, praying for their safety, I am in a group where one member was packed up ready to go, then the family changed their mind and were going to stay and now they've decided to head out tomorrow such a hard dilemma hard to leave but things can be replaced.
Tonight was a screw up for me, I went to the gym for a 5.30pm Body Step class only to find out it started at 5pm, at least I got 30 minutes of the class dumb thing is I've been going to this class for the last 3 weeks ughhhh. -
Good luck, TT. Duh, reading your post, Cheryl, I thought you were packing to leave. Hope Patoo and anyone else near the Florida coast are headed for safety. Sweet, beautiful coffee table and way to celebrate. Great results, badger, and work stress may be worth it if it makes you go at it harder at the gym. ;-)
Tango tonight. Yesterday did body- and free-weight exercises. Right now will try to catch some sun.
-
30 min on the elliptical, 15 min walking. Very frustrating day at work. Felt good to sweat it off. They cut everyone's pay in March while I was on leave for my surgery. That decided recently a remodeled office space would improve morale. No, everyone would like to be paid what they are worth.) Management sent out some rah-rah emails today about how exciting the changes are and revealed....they are painting the walls gray and putting down gray carpet. Exciting. And a great use of the money they reclaimed from us. Sigh.
Hope everyone in FL is safe this weekend. Sweetandspecial, the table looks great.
-
Nice table, sweet!
Sounds like there are some jerky bosses out there! Many years ago, I took a kickboxing class. I burned a lot of calories because I thought of my despicable director's face every time I kicked and punched!!!
I walked today & very gingerly did a 45 minute Denise Austin toning DVD (I used very light weights, did the easiest of any move or skipped a few all together). So I am being 'gradual'in getting back into exercise.
Thinking of Florida......
-
Got my exercise in last night. Hubby and I were at a fair
-
LOL at thoughts of kickboxing bad bosses. Exercising away work stress is a healthier strategy than trying to soothe it with ice cream. Not that I'm opposed to ice cream...
Sweet, nice job on the coffee table. Glad you're nearly done with the A.
Chris, OMG @pay cuts. You guys will think of that every time you see those gray walls & carpet. D'Oh!
Need to finish the Aug bookwork for DH this weekend, and will also get out to his garden to pick produce. And, of course, hit the gym. Let's see what my HR pic looks like when I'm not all PO'd.
-
Senior Exercise class (emphasis on balance improvement) Thursday, Functional Training class yesterday (a bit beyond my current strength capacity, but I did work up a nice sweat and shared lots of laughs
). Neither of the two Saturday classes appeal to me (tried Air Pilates once, but my balance is too weak, and hmmm Body Combat? Maybe someday....) also my son is visiting, so I took a rest day todayand just planted more spring bulbs while he worked on his car
I'm quite stiff and sore from yesterday!
-
Did a combination 45 minute Zumba followed by a 45 minute gentle yoga class today.
-
great job everyone. I've been sidelined with severe AI SE's. I can barely stand from a chair without help and pain, and cannot step up the one step into my house! I've decided I'd better tslk to my MO. Walking is not too bad, it's everything else. Oh well, this too will change, and I'll forget how frustrating this is!
-
Hi Friends,
I'm back to work, so been away for a little while. Been thinking about all of you in the path of severe weather and hoping you're well. Ginger, I felt so bad for you when you described your allergic reaction and imagining you working or missing work for all of that. 2Fun, I have to tell you that switching AIs has improved my pain level. I've also lost most of the weight I gained last year (10 lbs) so I'm feeling better. I know how awful you must feel and how hard it is to exercise. Think about asking your MO.
I had an MRI of my upper spine to see why I've been having such pain. Two bulging discs in cervical spine and a possible hemangioma in t2/3. Radiologist recommended a bone scan to be sure. Of course I'm a little scared. So I went for a 3 mile run this morning and felt pretty good while going at it. Badger, I'm thinking of your heart rate monitor and going after health to relieve stress. Mommyof2 glad you're feeling well to go fairing with your DH. Be well everyone!
-
Finally able to walk today. The smoke has started to move out. Still hazy but can see blue sky again! Thank goodness I switched jobs as it was inside recess all week because of our hazardous smoke levels. We had the worst air quality in the nation. I felt bad for the children and commend the firefighters across the West. Looking forward to some rain. Hope everyone is staying safe out there.
-
Had my not-exchange exchange surgery yesterday...doctor put in the wrong implant! I am so swollen now that I will need to heal from this before proceeding.
So today, my exercise is getting my 10 dots on Mr. Fitbit already have 8!
-
Falconer, well done on the weight loss. Wozers, on discs et al and hope you can find relief. 2FUN, do see if a change can help as quality of life is important. Sorry to read of the mishap TrmTab and hope you heal quick. Had a day off today as we took our DS to uni. He has a pale pink dorm room, oh dear. Tomorrow, off to LM BB quarterly to learn #78 and that is after Pilates.
-
Ruth, so sorry about your cat. We went through that a couple of years ago. Ours was nearly 20 years old. Glad you've got the grand puppy.
Ladies and families in the path of the storm, hope you are all safe. We are still on wait and see. They are still talking about possible hurricane force winds in West GA where we live but who knows. I stocked up on diet coke, popcorn and tootsie pops. Now need to hit the gym to work off my sugar high.

Lilac, are they allowed to paint their rooms? Otherwise many posters & wall-coverings may be in order.
Good Grief, TT. That sounds dreadful!
2FUN, sometimes people have problems with the fillers in one brand of AI and not another, so either change brands or try a different AI. You should not have to be that miserable.
Youch, Falconer, on the disc problems! Hope they can figure something out so you can feel better.
Between the horrible, horrible fires and the hurricanes; it is being a rough summer for many, many people. We should all take our hats off to the people who go into harms way to take care of the rest of us!
