Let's Post our Daily Exercise

Falconer, thanks and I hope it's a good transition as well. Sunny morning, lots to do, class at mid-day so I'd better scoot. Have a terrific start to the weekend everyone!
-
Exercise for the day is laundry, vacuum the stairs and rugs in living room and upstairss hallway, and sweeping and mopping kitchen floor.
-
Beautiful sunset, Claire! We have that dockless rental bike problem here, too. One company was ordered to reduce their fleet by 400 bikes. Thanks for the tip on Assos padded shorts. I may splurge on them if DH and I decide to go on a long distance tour.
badger, I suppose one can try to divide the percentage by how much you think is abdominal and how much fanny fat.
tressu, I think biking or swimming might be better for those blown discs. Ouch,
Yesterday was a lot of walking in train stations and a bodyweight workout at home called Morpheus on my freeletics app. I will have to get back to the gym now that it's cooler. There's a freeletics app for the gym too. Now I can finally learn how to use the equipment there.
-
Yesterday did an aerobic yoga class...which always seems like a confusion of terms! While a good class, this teacher always has one too many poses on your toes...doesn't hurt at the time, but like tessu I feel it today and will have to walk gingerly through the weekend to be able to do my vinyasa class on Monday. Happy September. Exchange one week from today...getting nervous.
-
Ran 4 miles yesterday - haven't done that for a long time. Actually have increased exercise since being dx. Today plan to do weights and walk. Helps so much. Back to work next week after 2 weeks off, think I will walk at lunchtime. Have to keep this up!
-
Lots of walking at the Vikings game. GREAT stadium, lousy game!
-
35 minutes on the exercise bike -- done. Thank heaven for Netflix.
-
Ruth, you seem to have a lot of fun!
Just from one fairlyshort walk, yard work and running errands I managed to get in over 20,000 steps today. If it doesn't rain, I'm meeting a friend to walk and talk tomorrow morning.
-
I have been at the shore this last week. The weather hasn't been the best so swimming has been limited. I have done a lot of walking on the beach and board walk. My diet hasn't been the best. It is hard to get anything green other then salad at the resturant.
-
Today's accomplishment: water aerobics, aqua jogging, swam laps and rode my bike for three miles in temperature upwards of 100 degrees.
I had a hard time cooling down. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again any time soon. Rain was predicted for the time I usually ride, so I squeezed it into the hot muggy afternoon.
-
No exercise for me. Back in ER yesterday morning at 1:30am for more hives and swollen eyes, ears and face. Now off steroids and Benadryl and on a couple of other antihistamines. Swelling is down but still very itchy so just walking brought the hives back. Hoping for relief soon. Going to see a Pentatonix concert in VT on Sunday night and want to be able toenjoy it.
-
Oh Ginger, hope the antihistamines do the trick and you can enjoy the concert 2moro nite.
Good job everyone for getting up & moving. All efforts count, accomplishments big & small.
tessu ouch on back pain. Glad you took the great advice in yr sig line, "Be gentle with yourself."
HeidiHill, I'm happy as long as the good numbers go up and the bad numbers go down!
TrmTab, sorry about those yoga toes and will be thinking of you @Friday exchange.
Ruth, is the girl with the badge in yr Vikings pic related? She resembles you & DH.
DH brought home kale, potatoes & tomatoes so going to make a big batch of soup.
Sausage and Kale Soup Recipe
This is my family's absolute favorite soup, and I can have it on the table in 30 minutes. I usually double the recipe, as the flavors blend and make the soup even better the next day.—Dawn Rohn, Riverton, Wyoming
MAKES: 15 servings
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 15 min. Cook: 25 min.
Ingredients
1 pound smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1/4-inch slices*
3 medium Yukon Gold or red potatoes, chopped
2 medium onions, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 bunch kale, trimmed and torn
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 bay leaves
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 ounces) garbanzo beans or chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 carton (32 ounces) chicken broth
Directions
In a Dutch oven over medium-low heat, cook the sausage, potatoes and onions in oil for 5 minutes or until sausage is heated through, stirring occasionally. Add kale; cover and cook for 2-3 minutes or until kale is wilted. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 9-12 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Discard bay leaves.
*I use ground sausage instead of kielbasa, and cook it halfway through before adding onion & potato.

Will hit the gym later today for yoga stretch, treadmill, and weights. ♥ to all

Yikes, Ginger! Hope you turn the corner. No, Badger, the girl isn't related. We had lots of fun wandering around the Sculpture Garden at the Walker Museum in downtown Minneapolis and playing Miniture Golf on a course designed by modern artists....which gave it some interesting twists. Here I am in front of the iconic cherry on a spoon sculpture
-
Then we went to a Twins game last night. 13, 500 total steps for the day. Here's the fam; brother, SIL, nephew, niece. Today we are on to Wisconsin to visit relatives from my mom's side of the family

I too think Minneapolis is cool and have friends who live in St. Paul. Ruth, wonderful photos, looks like fun all around. Ginger, I hope you feel better quick. Iohff, gosh those temps are super high. Badger, thanks for the recipe. Good to read of all the active postings - let's keep at it!
Pilates this morning
-
Lofhoff, I'd be thrilled to lose a pound a week if it was steady. I keep gaining and losing the same 3 pounds, but I keep trying! But I do understand your frustration. Its very hard to lose weight the older we get. I'm experimenting with more protein and a little less exercise. It worked well for about three weeks but up a little now after my favorite Italian restaurant last night.
Pretty sunset picture, Claire. And Ruth looks like you are having a good time. Love the cherry picture.
Ginger my sympathies on the allergic reaction. I've had four in my life - 3 to antibiotics and one to raspberries. I hope you feel better soon.
Thursday I walked 22 minutes. Friday I did a 27 minute walk with my one minute running included for the bones, and then pulled some weeds. Today was a 33 minute walk with my one minute running. Its starting to feel like autumn in the mornings here. Not really looking forward to that yet.
-
yoga class this morning, then walked up the mostly dry stream bed with the little ds. He still got pretty muddy!
-
6 weeks post bmx. I do an hour of mixed body weight exercises 5 days a week! I do cardio in intervals and I also work my core. Can do everything other than push ups. Still struggling with the sensation it gives me.
Hoping to return to the gym and continue doing powerlifting. I miss lifting heavy weights
-
Todays exercise consisted of driving home in the rain from the shore, unpacking and doing laundry. Hope to get to the gym tomorrow.

I managed to get out and walk between the rains yesterday, but only for half an hour. Still, between that, shopping and some errands, I got my steps in. I've been seeing a PT for cording after my SNB almost a month ago. It's made me much more aware of the need for adequate stretching. I think I'll try some gentle yoga again soon.
Interesting article Brutersmom. I've been thinking more and more about ways to improve my diet. I used to be a pretty healthy eater, but when my marriage fell apart because my ex just couldn't be faithful, I kind of just shut down and gave up for too long. I was just starting to get my confidence back. I was just starting to be optimistic about my future again. And now this.
I get my port placed for chemo this week. I'm scared to pieces. It's hard to keep my spirits up, but I'm trying. This disease is certainly humbling.
-
love the cherry-picking pic, Ruth. Lohoff, 1 pound a week is great. Twohobbies, I also keep fluctuating. I reached my weight goal this spring but am up again 2 kilos. Brightness, sending hugs. Port placement is scary but not that bad. A port makes things much easier. Chloe, awesome recovery.
Finally got to the gym yesterday. But first I did a 15 minute warm up run from home to the city, stopped for a coffee, then continued on by the lake with my running app to do an interval workout for a total of 800 meters (not including the warmup). I compared my best 100 meter time to the record for 60-65 year olds and it was about double that. Even the record for 90-95 year olds beats my time. At the gym did weights, core work and stretching.

Hi, my name's Chris. I'm starting back on a regular exercise regime. I used to run 4x's a week and want to get back to that. I have some neuropathy (just in my toes, numbness, tingling hat I hope will go away as I get farther out from chemo) that is slowing me down a bit. I started a run/walk program last week. I walk at work on my breaks and ride the stationary bike at the gym. Once I get the ok from the surgeons, I'll start some strength training. Exercise helps clear my mind from my unnecessarily stressful job and all this, so I'm looking forward to getting back to it. Of course, I want the stupid weight that has crept on these past month to go away, too.
Hope it's ok to post here. I find it's motivating and uplifting to be part of a like minded group.
-
hi Chris, welcome!
HeidiHill, I am hoping to improve my 5K speed so I can "beat out" more than the ladies with baby strollers.
Glorious morning, got out for a round of Garden & Sculpt. Petunias are pretty but need regular deadheading.
Finishing the laundry then will hit the gym. Set a goal of at least 20 visits in Sept. Happy Sunday everyone!
-
Just got back from Pilates. Proud of my calendar --- every day except for one this week, I've done some kind of formal exercise
Have a good rest of the day, everybody!
-
80 mins @gym: 45 treadmill, 15 yoga, 20 weights ==> 518 cal
-
brightness, I don't think.you have lost your confidence, you are just learning to be confident managing your health! When you get done with all of the treatments you will say"look how confidence I have"
-
Thank you 2fun. I truly appreciate the kind words
-
Walked 4 miles with my DD and truly enjoyed being outside and moving. I'm really liking the additional exercise but want to start running more. You are all doing so well! Keep it up, sisters.
