Linda- Your trip sounds wonderful!! Sit and enjoy the back-to-school quiet today!!!
Not feeling the love for the TED hose look! I wonder if my sister had to wear those back in the day when she was in nursing school. I'll have to ask her.
Nancy- Thanks for the reminder. We fly our American flag everyday, but I have two 9/11 memorial flags I need to get out.
Barbe- A girl after my own heart. I love to paint! People think I'm insane because I'm painting my craft room right now during chemo. Oh well. I'm taking my time and resting when I get tired. What else do I have to do? LOL
Faith- Prayers for Saint and I hope that you get to spend some time with her. I try to find something to laugh about everyday. Sure feels good, doesn't it?
ARNIE- YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last chemo!!!!!! I hope you get back to your old self quickly!!! I have four more! I'll be done for sure on October 6th. I am still having blood pressure issues, so they have decided to take me off the clinical trial drug permanently since they believe that is what is causing it. I got 5 out of 8 scheduled treatments of the drug, so I will remain in the study and they will follow me. I just won't be taking the drug. I will be unblinded on September 22nd, but it doesn't matter now which leg I am in because no more Avastin for me.
I decorated my porch for fall this morning. It's kind of strange to do that when it's still hot here, but we kinda have to make our own fall in Texas.
I love it!
Hugs and prayers for all!!
-
Can't wait until you join me in the "no more chemo" club Texas!!! I'm looking forward to decorating for fall too... Maybe next week! Hope that your blood pressure gets under control now that you won't be taking the Avastin anymore.... I go to the onocologist on Sept. 23rd and find out when I'll start rads.... but for now just want to enjoy the thought of no more chemo!!! lol
-
Yahooo Arnie!!!! Hard to believe eh?
-
Yes... Sharon... it is so hard to believe that I don't have to have another chemo...but such a sense of relief!!!
I just wanted to take a moment and thank all you lovely dustbunnies and tell ya that you made it soooooooo much easier for me to get through these treatments....I'm soooooo glad I found you guys!!! Love you all and appreciate you sooooooooo much!!!
Now gonna go take a nap...hehehe

Yah Arnie and Mary!!!!
I painted the kitchen a colour called Forest Floor, a real earthy muddy green like rotted leaves and moss all mixed together. You can SMELL it, it looks so real! Looks wonderful!
I don't do much prep, pull crap out from walls, tape baseboard. Paint. Go play on the computer. Do a second coat. Push crap back to walls. Stand back. Enjoy! Throw out tray liner and roller cause life is too short to wash rollers. MAYBE wash brush or just throw out. Depends on how the painting went. If it went well I tend to bond with my brush.....
-
Just a very quick post to say Yay to Arnie! Congratulations on finishing chemo! also glad you had a great time while you were away. Definitely doing the happy dance for you.
I've just painted my fingernails and toenails black in preparation for my first round of Taxotere tomorrow. After that I will just have 2 more to go. This whole business certainly has me trying out some 'looks' I wouldn't have considered before lol.
Anyway I had better get off to bed as it is getting quite late here. I also have to go to my GP before chemo for him to check out my eye where the shingles has been round it.
Hugs to all. Nite nite. xoxoxoxo
-
Yikes! on the eye Jayne! {{{{{{{{{{{{{ hugs }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
-
Good luck with your Taxotere rounds Jayne I hope your SE's are minimal like mine. Mostly mouth issues and toenails.Splurge on the Biotene mouthwash and use the icepacks on your fingerand toenails..Let me know how you are doing. You can always pm me.
-
YAY Arnie!!!! CELEBRATE!!!!!!! Mary, you'll be there soon enough!!
Hugs Jayne, I will e thinking of you.
-
Arnie - what wonderful news - I am doing the happy dance for you too! I am so glad you had a great time at your reunion.
Barbe - you admitted what I usually do when painting but didn't want to admit. Once I was painting the steps up to the second floor in oil base white paint (I was determined to have white steps to match the trim). I left to clean up the mess and when I went back I saw one of my cats gingerly walking down the steps onto the fresh paint!
Jayne - hope the shingles clear up fast. I always thought it was just on one side by the ribs until I looked it up when my sister had it - those shingles can be anywhere.
-
Happy Dancin'

LOL Sharon!!
Good morning Ladies!
DH is back to normal with just minor tongue pain ever now and then. Boy did everyone razz him while we were on vacation!
-
Oh...so glad to hear that Linda!!! Been thinking about that poor guy... I had alot of razzing at the reunion too with my Annie Lennox hair style... everyone kept rubbing my head...lol
Sharon do you have my email??? I could post it for ya
-
Linda, did your DH sound "properly gay" perhaps? Lisping all the right words.....?
-
I just love when there's lots of chatting going on around here.
Glad to hear that so many are on the right side of their mountain climb.
Please keep sending those prayers that we get to have the Saint & Faith fun this weekend. It makes leaving here nearly tolerable.
Big hugs to all in need.
Shiny. How's this week's school unfolding. I hope that you've got the communication between you and the staff all squared away. You'll be teaching them quite a bit, I'm sure.
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
Vivvy, girl of tomorrow -- where are you???
-
Linda So glad DH is back to normal!.......
Arnie, So sorry you are limited to posts still yet...That sucks!,,,,,,,,
Well I got some good news and some bad news with my MRI....I Do Not have mets!....YAY still NED!...BUT I do have bursitis in my hip.....So now I know what is causing my pain......Also I found out I have colonic diverticulosis.......It's little hernias in the colon......And I also found out I had had a ventral hernia repair.......Anyone onow what that is?.......Well, no housework for me today...I have to go to work!.......Happy lounging my fellow dust bunnies!......
-
Lucy - here's what I found about ventral hernia repairs:
General Surgery
University of Maryland Hernia Center
Laparoscopic Incisional/Ventral Hernia Repair
What is an incisional/ventral hernia?
Incisional/ventral hernias are defects that appear at the site of a prior surgical incision.
An incisional hernia can develop in the abdominal wall around a previous incision. It usually arises in the abdominal wall where a previous surgical incision was made. This results in a bulge or a tear in the area where the abdominal muscles have weakened. Incisional hernias can increase in size with time.
A hernia occurs when part of an organ (usually the bowel or intestine) protrudes through a weak point or tear in the thin muscular wall that holds the abdominal organs in place.
YEA - NO METS FOR LUCY!!!!!!!! Bursitis is painful but not life threatening.
Arnie - why are you limited in posts? You have been on the boards forever - what's the poop?
Linda - glad to hear your dh is on the mend - what did he have exactly?
-
No, Barb, no lisping, but that would have been really funny!
Lucy, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great news!!
kmc, not sure exactly, I'd have to ask him to write it down. It was a build up of scar tissue...blah, blah blah. So glad it's over!
-
A quick fly by as I get ready for some outdoor activity. It is too nice to stay indoors or to do housework. Someone needs to meet me for lunch at a place that will wait on us hand and foot and bring something really decadent to eat -- no chocolate for me (allergic) but a Key Lime Creme Bruelee could work.
Hugs for all. Congrats Arnie. Glad the vacations and trips went well. Enjoy yourselves and Put that paint brush down.... No work allowed on Thursdays. Nancy
-
Morning all,
Have just woken up to a sunny September 11.....my thought are with my friends from the USA.
Sending love, and prayers to you all.
Big Hugs
Viv
-
Thanks Kathleen!.....I guess I got a hernia when I had my bilat with TRAM, cause the repair was not on the CT scan before my hyster......
Vivvy!..So good to hear from you!.......
Well dust bunnies, I think I fixed my puter problems....I had so many trojans, adware and malware and just plain viruses on this thing I am surprised it even turned on!.....Still can't get on Firefox but oh well I don't care......
Have a greta evenning all!!.....

I signed up today for the cancer fatigue study. Nice folks. Tired now (big surprise) so I just had to buy a couple of raspberry jam pecan thumbprint cookies at my local bakery...
...and no housework today, except maybe to clean a corner of my desk so I can set up my new fax machine.
Hugs to all.
