Well, I didn't get any *housework* housework done, but I cleaned the aquarium, so the fish are happy. I also finally shot and posted my "steroids make you fat" photos on my site if any of you are interested. I really, really, REALLY did not want to post huge rolls of back fat photos of myself on the internet, but I also really don't want women to keep thinking that they're the only ones gaining that type of weight during treatment. Argh. I'm going to go eat a cake now and take a nap. That will help my weight tons. Hah. Weight. Tons.

Hi Ladies,
Am off to sleep in a mo, hopefully. Shattered, lemonette.
Thanks, too kind EWB.. and glad your mum got the card! I will keep em coming!
DS was excitted and keen to go the the new school on Thursday, and again today, seemed o.k. I have some concern over the new staff's communications, it takes a while sometime for new people to realize that with a very "partly" verbal child, you have to make communicating with the parents a priority, it is key. So am going to work very hard to get them to get that asap, it's vital.
Also, on the Tribunal stuff, got a call form the co ordinator of the Independent panel who has advised us, (lawer) and their cheif executive want to see all the papers asap to hopefully help.So 1 guess who'll be photocopying "for England" tomorrow. Starting acupuncture study (for chemo fatigue) on the 11th, on my DH's Birthday and also, on my next onc check up.
Cheryl, hope it sorts itself, hope you get good news with your check up.
xx huggs and bestest peachest vibes to all who need them. thinking of you!

Just checking in. 7pm here on the East Coast & no word yet from Cheryl on Facebook. Cheryl, I'm saying a prayer for you. The timing alone stinks. But the best birthday present now would be that nothing is wrong.
-
Good news- no DVT! Just a superficial clot. I'm to put warm compresses on it and elevate the leg, tylenol for the pain. The party is still a go!
-
Glad to hear the party is on.If i lived close I would crash it.Enjoy your weekend Cheryl.
-
Glad to hear Cheryl! Have a blast. Let's see you in the headlines...hehehehe.
Julia, great pix again. Don't know how I missed your hysterectomy ones. Boy you have a lot better scars than mine. Mine is a line down to meet a previous hip to hip surgery from years ago to remove ONE ovary. Doi. Looks like an angry smiley face. I told the surgeon he didn't make a very straight line going down. He said he went to Med school, not Art school. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERYL!!!..........
Well turns out DD doesn't have poison oak, ivy or sumac!......She has SHINGLES!......God bless her little heart!.....I feel terrible cause I fussed at her for not wanting to go to school!......
Well no housework for me today...I work 3pm to 22pm tonight so Cheryl have a drink for me, ok!......
-
Lucy hugs to your DD. I know what she is going through and it's no fun. Will she be getting anti viral meds?
-
Cheryl, so glad it is turned out to be something managable! whew, like you needed that.
Happy Birthday, or day ofter the party day!! well done for keeping your chin up and having yourself a celebration despite your unplaned "hospital visit". hug.
Barbe, it sounds that from what I have read from you over the months, you have not had the most attentive and most complete Onc etc team? Is it the norm in your part of Canada? I was amazed a while back when I heard you didn't have a oncologist assinged to you yet. Hope they all treat you like a Queen from now on, you sure deserve it. No post "mick" issues I hope. Sending you my best.
Hollyann, mega gentle huggs to your DD. What a brave little cookie. You coudn't know, so don't do that guilt thing, remember "guilt is optional", best save that energy for DD's very special mummy TLC. Hope it sorts itself soon.
I woke with very sharp pain in right side of chest at 3 a.m this a.m it is now 9 pm her and it hasn't gone, I guess it is muscular (I do abuse that side sometimes due to not using the other). It is incredibly painful when I move certain subtule ways, and a high pain constently now on top of the sharp stuff, no good timing. Am wrapped up in a heat wrap and hoping it will sort itself by morning, or at least before Monday's school run. Can't drive. Goash, what a lemonette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jane-uk, hope your meds are starting to make a difference to your shingles. take care of you, don't do too much.
Arnie, Coonie, Sharron, Faith,Mak,KaK,EWB, boy the list would take 2 pages of 2 t shirts sides to fill, so... everyone, take care of yourself
-
Shiny, does it hurt when you breathe or just move? Hugs to you!
No, I am the only Canadian with cancer who doesn't have an onc. Because I went straight to the double mast I avoided chemo and rads. Whew! Dodged that bullet. I still demanded to see one as I had questions, but she couldn't answer them! She even said that I must feel like I slipped between the cracks. And that's a doctor saying that!
I didn't know a child could get shingles....? Silly me.
-
Cheryl I'm glad it turned out to be superficial and your party can still go ahead. Have a wonderful time and a very happy birthday.
Shiny so sorry that you have been in pain for so long. Have you taken anything for it? I wish there was something I could do to make it go away. My meds are working thanks, it's starting to clear up. I must have had a mild dose because the pain wasn't too bad and has become less each day. My GP offered me pain meds and I turned them down, I should have had them and sent them to you.
Hugs to all.

let the party begin!
-
Hello party girl............I'm ready to rumble. Happy b'day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I'm drinking a weak cup of coffee (caffeine drives me round the bend) but I'm ready to go for something a little stronger.
Happy Birthday Cheryl.
-
Woohooooot Cheryl!!! What a nice party! Thanks for inviting us. Sure hope you're having a blast. I'll take something caffeine free too! Caffeine wires me and I won't sleep at all. Where's the cake??
-

-
Hey Cheryl....I didn't know what in the world to get you, so I just settled on a red beemer.....I hope you enjoy it.

Barbe, what are you doing up at this hour. LOL
-
Same thing you are Faith! hehehehe
I never realized you took the photo in your avatar! Stunning! Saw your pix on Facebook. You done good!
-
Awwwww. Thanks sweetie.
Yup. That butterfly posing for 11 shots was a mini-miracle in my world. It's what turned me onto the camera as an art form. I was so focused on snapping the gorgous flower against the sun -- had concentrated on finding the proper setting on camera, yada yada & just as I hit the shutter the butterfly landed with grace.
Voila.
We're down to our last week here in summer Wonderland. Back to reality soon enough. Wedding on the horizon has me all excited and WIDE awake.
I can even sense there may be cleaning on the week's agenda. LOL
-
Cheryl-anyone who looks as good as you should NEVER have to do housework again!!! Great pics!
-
Cheryl -- So glad you had a great birthday!
Your pics are just beautiful. LOVE your smile!!
You go girl!!!
-
Thank you (((cheryl) for sharing. May you have many, many more Happy Birthdays.
Ladies, don't kick me off of here -- yesterday my son and dil came over to take the telescope out of my storage unit. We loaded it into my station wagon, then filled the rest with boxes. Then we loaded their car and trunk with more boxes. Over to their house and unloaded. Since today is my son's birthday, we went out for a late lunch, early dinner or "linner" and shared a Key Lime Creme Breule since I am allergic to chocolate.
As if that was not enough work, today I have load # 3 in the washer. The dirty clothes had multiplied over night and I had to do undies at least... Happy Labor Day weekend to all, Nancy
-
Thanks for all the birthday wishes! We had a great turnout last night and it was very fun! I pooped out before the festivities ended, though. My kids and their friends were on the patio with a fire in the chimnea until the wee hours of the morning.
-
Cheryl...you are lovely, just breath takingly beautiful! So glad you enjoyed your party and company!
