Cheryl:
Sounds like it was a happy birthday.
-
Kathleen, I've not seen you for a while. How are you doing? Sheesh, seems so many are missing here. Is everyone busy doing housework or have you all given up (like me)? I surrender!!
-
I seem to remember Arnie saying she had a family get together over Labour Day weekend. At the time I didn't know when that was though
Shiny how are you doing?
Sharon I seem to have pretty much given up on housework these days too.
Hugs to all xoxoxoxo

Don't tell Barbe... am off to bed, she's my "boss" when it comes to telling me off for staying up too late! ..it's just after midnight, so does that count as early now???
Jane, I am a great deal better now. Was supposed to go back to the gym tomorrow (started in july when kids got off school and with hols and DH working away, it's been hard to get in there) My 6 yr old starts her last year at Infant school in the a.m..ahhhh Thanks fo the offer off the meds, had left over codeine from my opps, so took that. I am alergic to Tramadol and many other meds, so I coudn't get carried away with painkillers even if I wanted too! Still not totally sure what this is but some better. I think I can drive. At the onc in London on Friday, so if it is not all sorted, maybe someone at the hospital will have a look. GLad your shingles weren't toooo bad!
Oh Barbe, what a story, still "oncless"!
xx all my best
ps: Cheryl, you look fabulous!

Hi Guys,
I just got back from vaca with no internet! Can you imagine? It was a great week though and we had lots of fun. I have a TON of catching up to do so please forgive me if it takes a while.
Happy Birthday Cherl. I love the pics!!
Hope you are all doing well an know that I missed you all!!
HUGS
Linda, who has a MAJOR pile of laundry to do!!
-
Well Julie, a great big old welcome to you. You'll fit right in
-
Welcome home Linda. Laundery is a necessary evil of vacations, isn't it? Glad to hear that you had some great time together as a family -- away from the tethers to the 'real world.' Missed ya though!
Welcome Julie. Sharon hit the nail on the head. You'll fit right in.
-
Linda, can you hear me NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome home, just in time for school to start!!! Woo hoo for you whoo!
Shiny, sweetie, just tell me you were up late to make that last post and I won't ground you. Sorry to hear you still have the pain. Not good! Make sure you get it looked at Friday if it is still bugging you even if they try to push you through your appointment. And remember how sometimes your tooth stops aching when you get to the dentist? Remember to tell them about it anyway!
Julie, you done good!
The first step is to admitting it...hehehehehe
-
Well, the party is over and I'm back at work today. I'm wearing my sexy TED hose. I don't want another blood clot in my leg!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
Welcome, Julie! These are the best girls ever on this thread! You are our new honorary Dust Bunny! -
Hugs to everyone. Don't you love TED hose when it is 88 degrees out? A sales lady gave me a good hint - use rubber gloves when putting them on to help smooth out. not a bad idea for regular panty hose either. Keeps finger nails (IF you have any) from poking holes.
Walmart is calling my name, so off I go to blend in with the holiday shoppers. Nancy

Off to bed,
Just a quick "look see" to make sure I stay on top of your news.
In a whirl wind of meeting preps, chassing Local authority re provision that should be in place as of THIS week, lots of chassing, never ends. Just finished scanning further papers for the Pro bono chief exec Lawyer looking at our appeal now from Special needs Tribunal help. My scanner drives me positively "potty"! still, am sooo much better then at the week end, not fully sorted but getting there?, so will probably mention it when am at oncs Friday (thanks Barbe Daaaaaling (()) ).
Big liaison meeting on Wednesday with "new team" working with DS. DD worried about me going to London every Friday for 6 weeks +. I told her it is for a study to see if Acuponcture can help people feel less tired after having had "the potion" AKA chemo. Told her it didn't hurt (lets hope) and that it's great to be helping to find out if it helps.. unfortunately as I was in such (unrelated pain) at the weekend, she is putting the two together. I should have thought! I did tell her, it's not related, but I am going to have to work on that I think. Even my SEN DS said, mummy poorly, mummy take the "potion" at the weekend..
Anyhooooo. Sorry nothing exciting to report, so am counting on you ladies to go and have some excitement and I can live vicariously through you! hehe. Just kidding, my life's busy enough!
huggs daaaaalings. all my peaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaachyiestttttesssttt vibes coming your way.
Love, Shiny
-
Oh I just LOVE a Shiny post. I just feel like I've had a pop over the pond after I read of even your trials. Me thinks you should be writing a lovely novel (in your spare time. LOL)
I sure hope that all of these folks get their act together and get your son the services that will make his life better. You are a sainted wonder for sticking with the nonsense of the process. At some point, I suggest you just start sobbing in front of the judge person and play the "cancer card" for all that it's worth.
My big accomplishment of the day was to ride my bike for fifty-two miles, in honor of my being fifty two years old. It took the bulk of the day to do, but I'm still smiling ear-to-ear. (My lips are the only body part capable of movement. LOL)
Goodness gracious Cheryl. Take good care of yourself.
Arnie I can't wait to see your pictures of the whole crew. How was the weather? Were you able to keep yourself from just sitting there crying? I bet it was tres emotional for you this year. I've been sending you all sorts of good vibes.
I dare not attempt to round up all the names as we just keep growing and growing.
Vivvy girl, I do think about you & sent lots of energetic smiles while riding today.... I hope that you're on an up-tick and moving forward.
Kathleen, you too! Up-tick that is. How's your healing going?
Jayne. That makes me think of your shingles case..... hope that it's on it's way outta town for good. So glad that you were able to get on top of it from the very beginning.
Lucy. You must be adjusting to returning to work.... seems like I haven't seen you here for a tad.
Uh-oh. I've begun a list.
Jane. How are you doing?? Your birthday photos were awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Nancy. What did ya find at Walmart? Or were ya just teasing Shiny?
Barbe. Do you have any more weddings in the wings or is two the magic number?
Linda. Did ya get your laundry all sorted out. LOL. There's a pun there.
Sharon. Saint has had a couple of really good days!!! Yehaaaaa. Thanks to everyone who adds prayers for her.
KAK. I've gotten my blog into the top 50 category, for all three of my classifications!! Thanks!!
Coonie. Have you been walking? I haven't heard a report for a while. Just asking.
Mary. What did you get to do with your long weekend? Hope that there was something fun on the agenda for you & yours.
Julz. I don't think you should ever have to clean anything. You've got too much else to do.
Mum. Sure hope that you haven't had to clean anything lately. You were too productive last time you posted.
Now I've gone and done it -- started a list and undoubtedly left as many people out by accident as I included.
Mom. I don't know if you ever entertain yourself by reading along, over our shoulders -- but I'm sure grateful for your gathering all of us together. We've really behaved ourselves for a while, so who knows what's gonna happen next?
JulieA. I can't believe your first post at BCO was here on this thread. LOL. You really must not be motivated to clean. Welcome aboard.

Welcome home Linda!! Glad you had a great time! Where did you go?
Julie- Welcome! I'm not one to keep up with the ground rules here, but doesn't a new member mean we all get the week off? I think that's what it means. I'm taking it!!
I love Shiny's notes too! I admit sometimes I need an England to Texan translation, but I love reading them!!!
Faith- Look at you girl! 52 miles!! That is amazing!
Cheryl- Glad you had a great party!
It was a beautiful weekend here in Central Texas. Our temps have been in the low 90s, which feels like heaven after 60+ days over 100. We spent yesterday and today in the pool. The water has cooled off some because we finally had rain and our pool days are limited now. We miss it so much in the winter. It was just great to float around and do absolutely nothing! Tomorrow is Taxol #8 of 12. I am so close now, I can hardly stand it! I want my taste buds back!! I'm doing pretty well. A little more bone pain with each treatment, but still not too bad. A little more tired with each treatment, but I take cat naps. This really has been so much easier than AC was for me. And soon it will all be over.
Hope everybody had a wonderful weekend!
Remember- in honor of Julie- no housework this week!!
-

X TED hose??? I can only imagine what they are but I do have a good idea. Maybe we could get KAK to post a pic of TED hose and red high heels.
Hello to all others. Miss you all and hope youare doing well.
Linda
-
Linda, it's not a look I would advocate, but here it is. TEDs are those white elastic stockings they put on you after surgery. Nurses used to wear them a lot back in the days of uniform dresses. They went "swish, swish" as the nurse was making her rounds. LOL
Hey, Bunnies!. I'm going to participate in a research study on the treatment of Cancer Related Fatigue. They need a few more subjects, so if you know anyone who is or has been treated for breast cancer or prostate cancer who lives in or near Connecticut, send me a message. If they get a few more subjects, they can get funding that will let them do a follow up study on an existing medication that could eventually be put on the market here in the U.S.
-
Is NJ close to Connecticut?
-
Well, the northeast corner of it is! Whereabouts are you? Send me a PM.
-
The TEDS I have gotten are opaque dark beige, not white. If you add a blue sweater you can be very patriotic - red/white/blue.
If you have a flag, fly it on Friday - 9/11.
-
ROFL, Nancy!
-
Thankyou for the reminder Nancy...........our American flag will be out on Friday........
-
KAK I love it!! I knew you would be able to pull it off!!
-
WAKE UP YOU LAZY DUSTY BUNS!!!!
I had TWO days off in a row! I don't clean. I repaint. Half the kitchen is now repainted! Looks so clean now....sigh.
-
I'm awake, Barb! I've got 3 days off--don't work again 'til Saturday. What color are you painting your walls?
-
Kathi - Gosh, I sure hope that style doesn't come in - I couldn't get them on in the hospital let alone everyday! I do, however, like those ruby slippers.
Barbe - Aren't we just too industrious - can you come over here and share some of that energy? I love to paint - just don't like the prep work or clean-up.
Linda - welcome back!
Nancy - the ones they gave me were stark white (like my poor untanned looks need to look whiter!!
-
Good morning everyone! Schools back in session! YAY!!!!!!!
-
We're down to our last 3 days up here in paradise, must get back to reality shortly.
We're planning on going home, by way of Saint's house & spending the night with them on Sat. (if she's up to it.) We're all really looking forward to some more time together. Keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, think a good thought -- whatever suits your style.
Last night we went to see an original musical that was a HOOT: "Guys & Does" (as in female dear -- it was set in a hunting trip, cabin and dear blind. Hilarious. It was sold out & the audience was crazy with laughter -- it was fun to laugh at the laughter. Good for the soul, laughing.
Happy not cleaning to anyone that needs an excuse.
