Good morning dust bunnies!
Thank you for all your good wishes, vibes and hugs regarding my shingles. All of these combined with the tablets seem to be working, it hasn't spread any further and it looks and feels much better although there is still some pain that comes and goes. When I say it looks better, well it has sort of scabbed over in places so I still look fairly hideous. Imagine it, I'm lop-sided, bald and now scabby! Even so I think I have got off lightly compared to what some people go through with this.
I was due to have chemo today but they have postponed it until next Thursday. Yesterday I had to cancel my blood test appointment and meetings with my onc and surgeon. They don't want to see me while I am like this and I don't blame them.
Kathi the local district nurse was supposed to call me the evening of my first chemo but it never happened. I would have much preferred to have you and Kerry come and visit me.
Lucy Hooray for NED!
((((((Barbe)))))) for impending crumble.
Mary hope your new BP meds do the job and the annoying cough goes away.
Arnie it's good to see you posting again, I need to get used to the new name. Wonder what was wrong with the old one?
Shiny hope all goes well for your DS with his first day at new school tomorrow.
Cheryl hope the celebrex work wonders for your bone pain. Have a wonderful birthday party on Saturday.
Nancy sounds like you have done more than your share of cleaning, time to take it easy now.
Hugs to all you bunnies. xoxoxoxo

I picked up cat shit today.
That's my housework before I go to work.

Yes, my last name really is Murphy. My maiden name was Robert (pronounced Row-bare). My ancestors were French Canadian. My family has traced my family tree all the way back to when the first Robert immigrated from France. He was an innkeeper there and settled in Three Rivers, Quebec. My family later immigrated to the US in far upstate NY on the Canadian border. We were so close to the Canadian border that I was born in Cornwall, Ontario. Because of that, I have dual citizenship and, thanks to a law passed on April 17 of this year, so do my children. My parents moved to lower upstate New York in 1967 because there was good employment down here. My father had worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway project. I met my husband in high school when I was 13 and he was 18. We started dating when I was 16. The age difference seemed like a lot then, but now that I'm 45 and he's 49, it doesn't seem like a lot. When we got married, I was hoping for the better, richer and healthy part. I got the worse, poorer, sickness part. Maybe I'll get the other in the next 26 years. DH is scheduled for gastric banding on 9/22.

This is sheer decadence. I am sitting here while my HOUSEKEEPER cleans the floors. Oh my. The bathroom sparkles. The kitchen gleams. And now all that cat fuzz is in the garbage. We may get a kitten or two from the extra fur.... hahahahah.,
-
LOL dream, good for you!.......I slept in today and got up about 10:30 and went to the store and got DD some benadryl for her poison oak rash........Poor thing is miserable and it hurts to boot......No housework for me today either...I have t be at work at 2:30 so i am just being lazy........Send her my way when you are done!.........
Arnie...What day this month is your anniversary?.......Mine and DH's is on the 13th....23 years!.......My where does the time go?.........Happy Anniversary to you and MrArnie!.........
Jayne glad to hear the shingles are getting better......Nasty things they are!......My sister got them around her waist and her doctor told her if they meet all the way around it would kill her......I thought that was an old wives tale but no turns out to be true.......
I wish you all a great day today and hope you all rest well and regain all your strength.......
-
Hey dream, put your housekeeper on a plane when she is done with your house and send her to me after hollyann gets her.
No housework for me either, got more important things to do like knitting or making something.
Mine Tom's anniversary is this month too on the 3rd. September must be the month for marriages. Happy anniversary Arnie and Mr. Arnie. and hollyann and mr hollyann. Ours will be 16 years. My daughter and her husband will be married 16 years next month. We got married a month apart. She had a huge beautiful wedding. We went to a wedding chapel in shorts and t-shirts and went to frontier city and rode rides all day and a creedance clearwater revival concert. fun times.
Jayne so glad the shingle are better. I have heard the pain is horrible.
KAK, so glad you are feeling better and getting some energy. I bet your house is spotless. LOL
hollyann, is your DD using some kind of anti itch cream like calamine or benadry cream, that usually helps a lot. Hope you have a great day at work
Hope you all have great days and bust the dust bunnies.

Hi Ladies,
Just popping in to say "night night" to you all.
Hope you have or are having a good day, all things considered.
I have just packed and prepped and washed, and sorted and pilled up a TON of "kit" to bring with my son to the new school tomorrow. Such a shame that it is raining loads as it will make it harder for him not getting out, if it rains during "play in the garden" time. He needs breaks from all the noise etc. I am amazed now I look at it all how much "stuff" he uses to manage and modify things for him. It looks like someone's luggage going on holliday! Still, after tomorrow, I will just have 1/3 of that to lug home and to school each day, they will keep the rest. I look a sight carying most of it on one side to avoid full blown lymphedema. People do wonder why I don't use it, it's a bit funny to see me. Ahhh God did put me on this earth to make people have a little giggle sometimes, he he.
xxxxxxxx Shiny

Dream, I'm jealous!! Spar, I've got a lot of catching up to do before my house is spotless!!!
Shiny, you are an awesome mom, hope you realize that.
-
Shiny....... adding my love and support as the new year gets underway. All of your preparation will be such a brilliant support for your little fellow.
We're all cheering for him as he get's underway tomorrow. (And you, too, of course!!)
Big hugs to all in need.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Arnie, I'm so happy that your reunion is at hand. Please take lots of pics. We all want to meet the rest of the "Arnie family."

Hey, I've got an idea! When the party is going on I will get online and have the discussion board up. Then, if anyone wants to come to the party, they can through the internet! It's Saturday starting at 7 pm eastern standard time. ALL BUNNIES ARE INVITED!
-
Awesome, Cheryl! If you rig up a computer cam by then, let us know, then we can see you! LOL
-
Good Morning everyone. Helpful hint for the day: To keep flies away from doorways and windows, fill a zip lock baggie half way with water, add 3-4 pennies, zip shut and hang near door or window.
Apparently the water reflects and causes a visual overload and/or the water reflects and moves and appears as a predator. Simple, environmentally safe, non toxic, harmless to pets and children, non allergic, no toxic fumes, etc.
For gnats, fruit flies and those little " no see ums ", take a narrow neck bottle and fill with an inch or two of vinegar. They will fly in but cannot get out. This has been used in restaurants when invaded by fruit flies brought in with fresh produce.
If you do ONE baggie today, that counts as housework... Hugs, Nancy
-
LOL, going to try the baggie trick Nancy. Phew at least my housework will be done for the day. Thank you!!
Cheryl, will try to remember the birthday time. You mean we'll all be in this thread?
Shiny, big hugs and good wishes for a great day at school.
Dream, oh to have my whole house clean all at once. Enjoy!
Happy day all.
-
I will be out during your pah tee, Cheryl, at bingo. Have a wonderful time and enjoy yourself. Friday and Saturday nights are my big nights out - bingo. Early birds start at 6 pm.
-
Nancy, anything that works with misquitos and/or little tiny ants?
-
I am always heartily cheered up at the thought that any mosquito biting me right now will probably die from an overdose. As for tiny ants, this isn't a natural remedy, but I take the Hotshots kitchen bug spray (blue can) and spray it all along the bottom edges of my rooms and then wipe it up so only the barest residue is left, and then do the same with the bottom outside walls... that residue seems to be enough to keep any ants from coming inside when before they would invade in droves.
-
For tiny ants: Sprinkle boric acid or draw a chalk line, BUT NOT GOOD if you have kids or pets. Boric acid is used in most insecticides, so I am told.
For mosquitoes, fabric softener sheets are used by golfers and outdoors people. Or Avon Skin So Soft or Listerine. Smelling like listerine may not be all that bad...
For spiders: unwrapped sticks of mint flavored gum.
NO, my middle name is NOT Heloise.....
-
wooohooooo Cheryl!! Hope your birthday is just GRAND!!! Thanks for the invite. I'm gonna try to be there too!!
-
I join in the September anniversary gang- Sept 28th, it will be 24 yrs.
Happy birthday Cheryl

-
-
Happy Birthday (again, LOL) Cheryl.
I can't wait to see how we party together..... this could be a first.
-
I won't be around on the 6th Cheryl...so gonna wish you Happy Birthday early!!!! Have a wonderful birthday!
Hugs to all you dustbunnies!!!
-
just a quick hi everyone! And babypowder sprinkled along walls and entrys will keep the ants out or get rid of them if they have already invaded.
-
Happy Birthday Cheryl don't forgetn to make a wish
-
Have a blast tomorrow Cheryl! Love all the cakes pix, oh man!
-
AND....I just killed a honking brown spider on my computer!!!!!!!!!!
Should I have just shaken a stick of gum at him? What would he do? Run into my hard drive slot?
ARGHHHH. He was ugly! I usually get ghost spiders around my computer, not brown ones! (ghost ones are the very light coloured smaller ones, almost white).
Whatever happend to the flat black house spiders? Anyone remember those ones? Not too big, flat legs, so not intimidating like they are about to leap on you with bended legs.....ARGHHHHH,
I have to stand up and do the spider dance!
-
Well, if it's not one thing, it's another! I have a lump in my calf and am on my way to hospital for a workup. Stay tuned...
-
OH MY!!!! Sheesh, I hope it's something that's nothing Cheryl. Happy flippin birthday eh?
-
Yikes! DVP?
