Oh, meant to say. They do pathology on the stone to see what it is made up of so maybe I could possibly alter my diet to avoid another one.
Jaimie, I PM'd you before I posted so I wouldn't alarm you (just letting everyone know I'm not a fear mongerer). What are you getting done? I don't feel the stent as I'm sitting here typing and I'm sure the area is still pretty pissed off (pun intended) so I expect to feel pretty good by tomorrow.

Barbe~ Thanks for bring it to my attention.
My Kidney Fun
They found out during a bone scan that I had a birth defect in my kidney. Scared the crap out of me because it is not seen very often and all of the tech's where coming in to see it. They found out that my ureter has an artery that is running acrossed it blocking the flow of urine. So I have a pocket of fluid on my right side (same side as your liver, etc..) that is sitting there causing pain. So I get to go in on Aug. 5 to have my ureter cut and rerouted around the artery. Oh the fun I get to have. They will then put a stint in that they will leave in for 30 days and then they will remove it in the office (while I am awake...can we all say xanax...). They keep telling me that it only takes 1-2 min. to remove it and I keep begging for a sedative.

Hi all especially faith and hollyann.
Busy day today (Saturday) wih kids sport but when I woke from my nap my dd had left a note on the computer that you guys were concerned about me.
Thank you all for your concern about my deleted post. Was mucking around on the computer before bed last night and updating my details and was checking how it would look! Didn't realise it would concern my sisters. It is really touching that you all care as sometimes it feels like I am so far away (which I am) & all alone here on the other side of the world. But you have made be feel part of this group.
This whole experience is tough and it would be even more tougher without you all.
Barb hope you are feeling great now that Mick has departed.
Big hugs & kisses too
Viv

Whoops, posted it twice
-
Oh Vivvvvvvvy girl-of-tomorrow.
You are indeed around the world, or just a click away. Thanks so much for checking in. Sending off lots of hugs for you to use in your tomorrow-land, while it is still today, here. LOL.
Bunnies. It's not even 6:30 and I have cleaned up the kitchen (which was in desperate need, since I'd allowed it to compile piles...... while I've been playing creative-girl...... and have the second load of laundry turning!!
Hugs to all in need: those in treatment, those recooperating, those contemplating surgeries......
Well everyone should start their day w/a dust-bunny hug.

Glad you survived the first 'go' Barbe.
How kind of them to say they'd call on Monday. Sometimes ya gotta wonder what they are thinking. Your bladder would have burst long before then.
-
Barbe sorry to hear about how painful it all was.But glad Mick has been banished. Pathology of the stone is a good idea so you can avoid giving birth to another.Take your pain meds with gravol fi they bother your stomach.Monday will be here soon.Hang in there tough lady.((((Hugs))))
-
Good morning! Can I join you all? I'm having a mastectomy on Monday, right side. Diagnosed on 7/2. I've been doing laundry, stocking the kitchen, dusting & trying to keep the kitchen clean. Last week our friend's daughter came and cleaned the livingroom and kitchen. What a help she was! I'm mentally exhausted at this point and just stare at the mess. Tomorrow I'll finish cleaning my work space here at home. I started yesterday and it's only a desk and side table, still, it's a mess, covered with doctor's business cards, little sticky notes, CDs, dust, and a very filthy keyboard! You all sound so cheerful and supportive. I really enjoyed reading posts here this morning.
Lottie

Welcome Lottie,
Thankyou for joining us. You've done way too much cleaning though
and now we will have to make sure you do as little as possible post surgery. I hope all goes well for you on Monday.

Sure you can join us Lottie!!
But it sure does sound like you're doing too much for this group.....LOL We think up all kinds of excuses and reasons to "not" do housework on this thread......hehe. So, with you having surgery soon, we'll all get the whole week off from housework. Glad you're here. Sending thoughts and prayers your way for your upcoming surgery. You'll do good I'm sure. Join right in and make yourself at home around here:)
Barbe I'm so glad you peeeeeeeeed!!!! Now one thing I surely can't understand is you going to work TOMORROW?? Don't you think that's a little too soon?? Take advantage of being "sick" girl and take some time off! Sure hope your pain level eases up soon! You done good girl!

Welcome Lottie. Congrats, barbe. Prayers for all for only good things and no pains.
I am gonna be a gramma in April. Son phoned early this morning to tell me. He is my one and only, and we hope my Mom,who is 96, is still around to call herself great gramma. I cleaned off my dining table - mostly threw out accumulated junk. That's it for housework today.
Hugs for everyone, Nancy
-
Lottie, good luck with your surgery. It sounds like you have a great support circle to help you through.
-
Nancy
That's great news. I wanna be a grandma too
Only have one DD (21) and she's so busy with school....
-
Welcome Lottie but I will warn you we don't get much housework done around here.
-
Way too many distractions.
-
OMG, now that pic of Brad truly made my day. What a beautiful man!!!! Sigh. Wish he could join us here on the message boards! Barbe, I am so glad to hear that you finally peed. I am sorry it was so painful for you. Hopefully, you are on the mend to a speedy recovery. I heard passing stones is worst than giving birth (but then again that was from a man's perspective!) Hugs your way.
Welcome Lottie, so glad that you are joining us. You will be in my prayers this coming Monday. I am recovering from a prophylactic on July 13. Had my other side done last September. You sound like me, getting the house in order before you go. You will be fine, before you know it you will be home busying like a beaver again.
Nancy, congratulations on being a grandma! What wonderful news!
Ladies, enjoy the weekend. Bright sunshine here (for a change) Have my whole household of men to deal with. I should have appreciated being lazy and bored when I had the chance. By the way-how do you ladies add these great graphics? I love them, but am computer illiterate to know how to do it. Do you just cut and paste? Talk soon-Carol

Hey Lori....it's so good to see you. Hope you're doing well. Now, about that chemo brain. So....ummmm you mean I can use that excuse for YEARS??? I think I might like that ........hmmmm
Hope you all are having a great afternoon. I found this for my sweet Canadian friend, but I also wish all of you a good afternoon!

Ah, I had a setback guys. At 10 pm last night I was in a lot of pain and fluid was passing right through me. I packed myself with towels but woke up soaked in urine and blood at 2 am. DH and I went to the hospital where they gave me adult diapers. I attempted to get them a urine sample and saw that my stent was hanging out! It had shifted way down and was keeping all the gates open. So, 12 hours in the ER and all I got was more Demerol and Flowmax to try to keep the stone shards flowing out. The stent would have protected the ureter walls, as well as keep it from scarring over or collapseing. So my security blanket is gone!
I want to crawl into bed with arnie and y'all can bring us treats!
-
Barbe!!! Bless your heart! Is everything gonna be ok now? Surely you're not gonna work tomorrow are you? Man, it sounds like you've had quite an ordeal. I was thinking quick and easy.......maybe painful, but I didn't realize it was anything like this.
OK......treats for you and Arnie.....
Now you girls be sure and share. Eat the healthy stuff first, then the sweets
-
Barbe hugs and prayers dear. I am so sorry that this happened. May you feel better soon.

I can't work tomorrow and I emailed my team to say I might not be in on Monday, either. Tuesday is my normal day off...so I just might wait. I cannot imagine sitting up for the two hour commute and then at work, up/down/up/down from my desk and around the 130,000 sq ft store!
I will be missing my soon-to-be-daughter-in-laws shower tomorrow at DD house! Now THAT breaks my heart. I feel I am letting her down...
