-
Glad to hear Mom is okay
Barbe~ I hope Mick has been kicked to the curb and you are on your way to being Mick free.
Kathi~ Loved your shirt and I am honored that I am on it
No housework today I had to go have my incision from my exchange looked at because it opened up...ewweee... It was only the size of a capital O but it had to be reopened. It's a good thing I can't feel it. My PS found a disolvable stitch in there that was 1/2 in. long that didn't disolve. We are hoping that fixed the problem but I am going on antibotics for safe measures. So I have an excuse today
Now I go Aug. 4 to have the stitches removed and Aug 5 in for kidney surgery..oh yeah.
This means I got to get the backside in gear and get everything in order ahead of time. Can someone send me some motivation,,,,Please.....
-
Kathi, I love your shirt too and honored my name is there as well. I wish I could have one as well!It has been a year for me too. Diagnosis was July 29th 2008, but it seems like only yesterday. As, I said before, you gals are my godsend. Love and good wishes to all. Jaimie, hang in there.... I know those incisions opening up are yucky! I had many of that during my initial surgery and in the end it turned out ok. Finally stopped raining in NY. It has been dismal this entire summer, so going outside for alittle bit of sunshine. Enjoy your weekend ladies. Carol

I have been at home since about 3:30. I survived. The stone was a Frisbee shape and not a ball shape. He has sent if off for pathology. I was in the recovery room for 2 hours as they had trouble controlling my pain. 6 shots of Morphine and then finally Fentanol. More morphine to come home with as well. They had to "manipulate" the area, then he had to laser the stone as it wouldn't come out with a pluck. Then they scooped out the bits with a stone basket.
The only problem is that I haven't peed yet. They took the catheter out about 2:30 and it was just all blood.
Sent me home and told me to come back if I can't pee. So I'm drinking tea and got DH to get me watermelon as that makes me pee.
I'll keep you posted on the pee thing as I know you will wait with baited breath until I post that I did it!
-
Hey Barbe -- go to bed, fall asleep and get your dh to dip your finger in a glass of water (that's a nasty old summer camp trick, and it works)
Hugs, Linda
-
Glad to see you are home.
Think of waterfalls, rain (not difficult to do here), laughing brooks................whatever. I know of gals sent home that had to catheter themselves!!!!!!!!!! Surprised they let you go without producing something that even slightly resembles urine. Will a health nurse visit you tomorrow?
Gentle hugs.
-
turn the water on in the sink and listen for inspiration.
-
Sending you pee vibes Barbie!!
-
Praying for you to pee, Barbe. (hey, prayers of all kinds are answered!)
I want to know who figured out the "summer camp trick"!
-
Hi Texas rose! nice to see you!
I am off to bed, can't see my packing list straight, too whooped. It's just gone midnight here. We shall be off to the airport by 10 in the a.m. Still have the visual shedule and boards to prep for my DH and some games to gather, in case of dare I say it "rain".. lets hope not, as it's but field's off sunflowers and not much else round that part of Southern france.. I know I know, lovely with a book, for the grownups, but not for the kiddies.
Barbe, so glad the worse is over, hope you PEE! XX HUG! If I see an internet cafe, I will pop in to say hi.. but we tend to stay in the countryside.

Hope everythong comes out okay, Barbe!!! Think water. Ever go on Maid of the Mist under Niagara Falls? I was at the beach a couple weeks ago jumping the waves. Maybe if you go to the pool - you know how you always have to go pee a few minutes after you get in the pool then have to run dripping water all the way to the bathroom.
Hey, trying to get some visuals here to help her along.
-
I PEED! (looks weird spelled out doesn't it?)
The pain was so bad I almost passed out. My theory is that as the bladder empties it creates a vacuum for about a minute in the kidney. There is a 6" stent going from my kidney to bladder so it doesn't collapse while it heals. As there is no pee touching the sides of the ureter it can't be that. And it's that deep aching pain, not like a UTI where it hurts when you stop.
But hey, I peed! I done good.
p.s. tried the warm water while in the hospital. I, too, was surprised when they let me go without peeing. They said they'd call Monday to see if I'm okay. I told them I expected to be a work on Monday!
-
whoooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeo
-
YAY!!!!!
-
Barbe peed, now I can go to bed!
Nite all.
-
Ok, I admit it, I hopped on the computer just to make sure Barbe peed. Now I can head up to bed too.
Night dust bunnies.
-
Thanks all, never thought I'd be so pleased to go pee! Remember when you had to have your first bowel movement after giving birth? Kind of feels like the same pressure to perform....
-
Whooo for pee
I am getting a stent also so not looking forward to it.
