Hey Dust Bunnies....I've missed you all! I've been cleaning and working like a mad woman. Been filling in at work for DH and on days off, been cleaning out drawers, closets at home. Sure feels good to get things caught up. I'm just exhausted now.
(((((((((((((Deb))))))))))))) I'm so sorry you're having to go through so much. I said a special prayer for you at church Sunday morning. I hope you're feeling better real soon. Rads are almost over soon, huh? Hang in there sister!! It'll be done soon!!
(((((((((((((((Shiny)))))))))) girl....bless your heart. I'm so sorry for all this confusion with the judge. I pray the judge can get his/her mind on the matter at hand and resolve this soon! I know you will too. Only the best for Shiny's little wee one:) Sending you extra prayers and good vibes Shiny. You want some Walmart bags? LOL
((((((((((((Arnie))))))))))) Oh I'm so sorry about treatment again, but that means you're one closer to the end of it all. Hope it doesn't knock you for a loop. Hang in there girlfriend. Tell Daddy Arnie and Arnie Jr. (AJ) I said hello.
Linda.......great pic of you and DH on motorcycle!! Ya'll are an adorable couple!!
((((((((((((MaryRose))))))))))) sure hope you're feeling ok. Counting down too, huh? Does it feel like it's taking forever, or is it going by fast? I remember those days so well.

Bye, bye Mick!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey gals, just checking in to say hi. I have been kind of out of the loop lately. Before anything-good luck and hugs to you Barbe for your surgery. Still awaiting my pathology report on my prophylactic mastectomy. Hmm.... Just don't know what is going on in my head lately. This was supposed to be the easier surgery, but mentally I just can't get over it all. It isn't even the physical aspect of having both breasts removed (I don't think), but I just can't seem to move forward. I feel blessed and relieved to have this over (I hope!!!), but on the other hand I can't get positive. Everyone in my house expects that I am this "strong woman" because I am up and around but mentally I think I am a mess. I think it may be that I didn't even have time to really grieve for the loss of my friend with everything going on with me. Just wanted to write what i am feeling because maybe some of you know how that feels. I am surrounded with a family of men so they don't experience the emotions like we do. Thanks for listening.

Carolmarie,
So many of us have or still do feel that way. I was reading a thread earlier today about a woman who just had her one year anniversary and still feels that way. You may want to read it, along with the other posts. It lets you know what you feel is normal. You are not alone. It made me feel better when I read it. We have to be so strong throughout this journey, sometimes you just want to have a good cry. I hope we can all help you out mentally. many many friends here have helped me. Hang in there, brighter day will come!
-
Carolemarie,
The name of the thread I mentioned was "Looking Back". Check it out!
(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))
-
(((((((((((((((Carolmarie)))))))))))) so sorry you're having a hard time. I pray that it will be short-lived. Hang in there. I'm sure you'll start feeling better soon!

Hugs to all! I had my first of 12 Taxol today. I am lazy so I will just repost what I posted on my chemo thread-
**
Hi all,
First Taxol went pretty well. I was at the hospital forever though. They asked me to come in early so they could run more lab work and check my iron levels. Onc added an iron supplement even though my lab work came back that my iron is fine. I had to wait on lab results, wait on appt with onc, wait on orders to come through and wait on drugs to come. Waiting is not something I am good with! And this was my first chemo I did without Xanax. For all of my AC, I took a Xanax the day of chemo to keep my blood pressure down. Today, we decided I better not take one because of the Benadryl. I would be a zombie!!
Anyway, I feel pretty good. Tired, but I feel like the steroids and the Benadryl are fighting it out. I'm tired, but I can't sleep. LOL Onc did warn me there might be bone pain and asked if I still had any Vicodin left from my surgery. I do, but I will only use it if it's really, really bad or at night if I can't sleep. Glad to have one down, 11 more to go!! Ugh...that sounds like forever but it will go fast.
Forgot to mention I think that I went to the boob store yesterday. A very interesting experience. I am a 34 to 36 band. A or B cup, mostly B. The fitter started out with a 40 bra with a cup that Dolly Parton couldn't have filled. My mom and I just busted out laughing. We went down from there but never really found a bra that fit well. She tried one on that was a pretty good fit but was an A cup and still a little large. She is going to order one in a AA and we think that will fit well. Should take two weeks to come in and she doesn't want to fit the foob until we fit the bra, so I am still the unaboober. I have no idea why the fit is so different from my old regular bras. She said it had something to do with the fact that I have a lot of muscle there and also because my boob hangs low. Well. of course it does. I'm 47 freakin' years old!!!
Hope everybody is doing well! Love and hugs!

And also wanted to add....
Barbe- Good luck with Mick. Glad he will be gone soon! Sorry about the farkle, love. It is addicting. I play it a lot in real life and it's very different than the Facebook farkle. Both are addicting! You can add sit on the porch at Mary's and watch a Texas thunderstorm (minus tornado of course!) to your bucket list!!
Shiny- Sorry for the troubles you are having with the judge. You are always in my prayers sweetie!
Faith- I would love to do yoga. I do some on the Wii. I have always been told I don't breathe right. Whatever that means. I think I breathe very shallow.
Coonie- So good to see you!!! Sounds like you are keeping busy. Thanks for the good thoughts!
Deb- Good to see you too! I keep up with you on Facebook too. I hope you are getting over the pneumonia and healing from the rads.
Carol Marie- I have a feeling when treatment is over, I am going to have some emotional stuff to deal with. Right now I'm busy fighting, but when I'm done....I don't know what to expect. It still hits me sometimes like a ton of bricks that I had cancer. Hugs to you.
Smoochies dust bunnies!

Okay, spent a few days lurking now and then but not posting. Why, you ask - housework! Yeah, I broke down. Put my bathrooms back together after having new vanities, sinks, faucets installed and one toilet. So, then had to clean, patch two holes in the wall where soap and toothbrush tiles were removed, swept and washed both floors and put all the toiletries, etc. back. Then vacuumed my BR and DS BR, changed linens, dusted. Also cleaned kitchen floor, washed dishes, cleaned counters. Did 3 loads of laundry and put them away.
Whew - I'm tired just typing all that. Oh yeah, also washed my car!
{{{{{{{{{ H U G S }}}}}}}}}} - to all who need them. If you need more let me know.
-
Patoo, glad your bathrooms are back together. You must love them!
Mary, YEAH!!! One down!! I know this sucks for you but hang in there. We are all routing for you. Get lots of rest and know that we are thinking of you.
((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))

I want to change my curtains downstairs and repaint the sills and doorways. Would you believe I have had the same curtains for over 20 years? Before that they were in my in-laws dining room. Where can I look on-line for curtains. I haven't been able to find anything even at JC Penny or Sears. All they seem to have are sheers.
-
Patoo- OK I think that is just about enough! No more housework for you! My DH reads over my shoulder sometimes and he cannot be allowed to read your post. He may expect me to do more. I'm pooped just reading!
-
Thanks Makraz for the info about the Looking Back topic.
Was sitting here feeling lonely and needing a hug ( not a good day and have a doctors appointment looming on Friday). Read the thread and have had a good cry. Have so many BC sisters just like me! Think I will now go and have a nap as rainy and cold here.
Patoo ...thanks for the hug.
-
Awwwwwwww Vivvygirl - here's some more!

All better now.

Hugs for all the house work shirkers. And tsk tsk to those who broke down and actually cleaned. I am on light duty for 2 weeks - Dr who took out the port said take it easy for 2 weeks and I am sticking to THAT order !!! Write your name in the dust, kick the dirty clothes aside, grab a cool drink or coffee and sit a while with me on the patio. I have jazz, rock, country, classical and some salsa music we can put on. I might go to bridge group tomorrow if I get a decent sleep. Nite nite everyone.
-
Patoo,
Now you have made me go and cry again..
Feeling loved ...thanks
-
-
Forgot to add that I would love to have the girls bath redone but don't know where to start.DH says start with a good contractor. That man is so funny!
Anyway I am so sorry to hear some of you girls are having difficult times. Hugs to you all. Am hoping that surgeries, treatments etc. go well and happier days are on the horizon.
Jane I had the same problem finding curtains. Finally decided to make my own. Went to our local Hancock fabric store to choose fabric and found they had someone on staff that would make them for me and it was much cheaper than buying the ready made.
-
I wish I could find someone to do that. I have all I can do to sew on a button. Then again, how hard can it be? All you have to do is hem the bottom and sides and make a pocket for the rod at top, right? Hmmmm...where are the instructions for the sewing machine the kids bought me 10 years ago?
-
Jane it is really quite easy to make them but I was lucky to have found someone to do it for me. I just didn't have time between work and kids and everything else. What is really crazy was I found patterns to make different kinds of curtains ie kitchen and bath. I never knew you could buy a pattern for curtains.
-
Jane, I have to smile after reading your post, I have a brandnew sewing machine my husband bought me for Christmas years ago and still have not used it and did just find the book. You sound like me, gee, how hard can it be.
Patoo, I love you girlfriend, you have enlightened my life so much.
I am really gonna try next week to not be such a slacker on house work. hahaha. right.
-
Good morning ladies,
I would normally be getting ready for work at this time but our office hours changed yesterday so I don't go in until 9. The girls are happy cause they get more time for tunes. I don't know what to do with myself so I came here. Could be doing a lil extra around the house but to early for that. So will sit here and do something constructive while I drink my coffee.
-
Good morning dust bunnies!..........Hope you all have a great day and remember...NO Housework!.....hehehehe..........Barbe....Good luck getting rid of Mick!........((((((vivvy))))) hope you feel better today........And to all my sisters here I wish you peace and love all day long......Rest well my dear sisters and have a great day!
-
G.M. everyone. I just got my 2nd cup of coffee, bkc. Lets sit a while and "contemplate our navel". Anyone old enough to remember that phrase? No housework is on my schedule, -- port was out on Monday and no lifting for at least a week according to the doctor. It hurts a lot less today, and the heating pad last night helped a lot. I think I can play bridge today and maybe get chinese take out for dinner. Living alone is no fun, even if no restrictions. There is a knitting class at the recreation center on Thursdays. My tx were on Thurs,so I might fill that time slot with the class and some company.
Have a good day, no housework or very little if really needed. HUGS, Nancy
-
Good Morning!
Nancy, I don't remember that saying but would love to know what it tmeans.
bkc, enjoy some you time!
-
Good morning Bunnies! Hope you all have a great day. Hey Nancy.....congratulations on being deported! Did you keep your port? It does take a few days for the soreness to go away. Sorry you live alone. Do you have a pet? That might help with the "alone" feeling. I talk to my dogs all the time.....and they actually talk back.......LOL
BKC.....now's Felicity and Porshalin? And Cameo? I think of them all the time. Tell the girls Coonie says hello. I'll try to find some cute pics for them to post on the "cute" thread. Still can't believe the story about Cameo.
MaryRose.....you'll sure need to rest with that Taxol. It makes you tired too.
Arnie......now are you making out with your 2nd one? You ok?
Where's Mom? Is she doing Mom stuff?
(((((((((((((big huggies to all bunnies))))))))))
Here's a little healthy breakfast for all of you....
Some diet coke for those who don't drink coffee
........Linda!! ...hehe
-
Thanks Coonie! I could sure use the caffeine!
