Patoo..... maybe you could consider hiring out? Make a few $$ in the process??

Nothing housework related on my radar, that's for sure.

Today is the start of the cherry fest -- so I don't even need to 'pretend' to cook. LOL.

Mary have an incredible get-away. Soak up the opportunity & give us a full report. Take pics!!

Deb..... sending you stamina and courage to continue your walk.

Hugs to each & all in need.

Uhhhhhhh, do I at least have permission to put the bathrooms back together after he leaves?  Would be nice to have towels and toiletries in there.  Promise I won't do anything else until just before my DS returns from vacation Monday night (well, except I need to grocery shop).

Please, please, please, tell me it's okay!

What no coffee or donuts, ok who's slacking here????  Funny because I don't actually drink coffee but in the morning it just sounds better to say Where's the coffee or Anyone want coffee than Where's the water, milk, coke......... Why is that?

I agree.  When I used to work in an office, I would pour my coke into a coffee mug before meetings.  People look at you funny for having a Coke in the morning, but coffee is OK!

I'm reading about all the laundry, cooking and window cleaning getting done. I feel like a slacker! I was toying with the idea of doing some laundry today. Hmmm --maybe I will.

Did Linda just post a picture that has other colors besides red?!

afternoon ladies. Saw cardiologist this morning, the ekg he did was different that the 2 previous ones (one of which was done 2 days ago)! ACK scheduled an Echo/stress test/Echo for mid August. Doesn't THINK its anything to be concerned about but just wants to check....that is EXACTLY how my cancer journey started.

really sad news is that a lovely lady from my support group has been having a tough time. Today we heard that she'd had a stroke and is now in in-hospital hospice, on a morphine drip and totally unaware of anything. Not brain dead but not far from it I expect by the way the counsellor was talking. Geraldine is the loveliest lady with 2 gorgeous girls 4 and 8. I can not imagine what it is like for her family....luckily there is a lot of family near by and they have been very supportive. I feel so helpless. I wanted to go visit her but they said she wouldn't know you're here  Cry. It is a sobering day.

I've been looking for postcards for your mom.........LOL I don't think our fine city has anything to be proud of. There isn't one postcard that I can find. I'll have to go to New Orleans or somewhere famous to get one:)  I have been thinking of her though:)

EWB how sad but I would go visit anyway. They always told us working in the hospital that the hearing is the last thing to go and sometimes even when people think someone is not there they really can hear, maybe not respond back but they can know you are there.

Think I've shared this before but when I was in Bible College a guy told us that he had a severely handicapped sister who his parents lovingly took care of for years and years. She became very ill and was supposedly in a coma, near death. There were relatives visiting and one remarked to the other that perhaps it was a good thing she was passing on because of the burden she had been to the elderly parents trying to take care of her. It was then someone noticed a single tear rolling down her face.  His story left one of those forever prints on my heart and I carried it with me all through my years working as a Respiratory Therapist. From then on I just always assumed the patient could hear and treated them accordingly. No one but God knows the minutes of a persons life and she would probably appreciate your visit.

EWB, I'm a firm believer that unresponsive people can hear you too.  Why not go and visit her for a short time.  I bet it will make you feel better too.  I will keep her in my prayers.

EWB, I will keep her in my prayers as well.  I firmly believe that unresponsive people can hear you too.  Your visit will make YOU feel better as well.  As you are aware, my good friend passed on last week and the last time I saw her, I didn't know if she even knew I was there.  However, it made me feel good knowing I got to say goodbye. The priest that stayed with her said that she was totally unresponsive the entire night that she died.  When he turned around and told her to "leave in peace" she opened her eyes and thanked him.  So, I think when we don't think people can hear they do.

On a cheerier note, feeling better today.  My workplace just sent me a junk filled basket mostly including chocolate!!!!! Yummy.  I kind of like this laying around doing nothing for a short period of time.  Actually, it is only happening now that my husband and boys are out.  When they are home, its like no surgery ever took place.  And yes, my husband is still complaining about his hemorrhoids!!!!!!!!!!!  Unbelievable.....

Dear EWB, I am with the others on visiting your friend.

When my dad had what amounts to a brain stem stroke after a triple by pass, 13 years ago. He coudn't react in the beginning he was much sedated and he had completely lost his power to speak; in time as you know, eventhough he was paraplegic and in the end blind, he had all his mental capacity. My brother started to communicate with him with blink signals then word letter boards, then he learned how to regulate his breathing and to speak again. I had a long and rewarding precious extra 13 years with my dad after that.

Of course, I do not know the reality for your friend. But whilst we don't know there is no harm in reasuring her about the kids being well taken care off etc, the family being very supportive. If it was me, on the off chance she could hear, I would go tell her that, and tell her we are all praying for her also.

Re you, EWB:Tests are anoyingly unpredicatable at times, one of the ladies here got a secondary cancer scare from a scan that was in fact a shadow of her implant on the pic, honestly. Honestly you could do with a break, but here's hoping it all becomes clear that it is ok, when you go back in August.xx

    xx hugs to all.

    Shiny

EWB, you are always on my prayer list and I will just continue to hold you up before the Lord.

I agree that you might want to go visit your friend anyway.  I believe you will find a peace as you sit with her for a time; it will do both of you good..  I'm sure it will also help her family to know that others care.

CarolMarie - ask your DH if he really wants something to complain about then cook him a really spicy meal, something with beans in it.  LOL (just kidding!)

EWB, by all means visit if you think it will make you feel better.  It really doesn't matter if she knows you're there or not.

On the other hand, don't feel even a second of guilt if you don't feel comfortable visiting her in this situation.  This sounds like the time for close friends and family to rally around, but if you don't feel that close, it might be better to wait and see if she rallys, and could benefit from a friendly distraction at that point.

I haven't checked in today much because I have been up getting to the bottom of my laundry shoot.  I think I will have one more tomorrow and 2 baskets of clothes (and junk) to put away.  I am sick of housework....okay I am always sick of it.  I don't mind the actual cleaning it is putting things away that drives me crazy.  Besides throwing everything out (which has crossed my mind) does anyone have any solutions ??
