Coonie - Your favorite nurse's name was Mom?
I have a girl who said she'd come next week (when my DH is not home). I figure it will take her a good 5 hours to do a thorough cleaning? I haven't talked to her about pay yet. Any idea of how much I should pay her?
-
Hey ladies! Glad to see you all here and not working. Those pics that you all put upo of dads, grandkids and firefighters........ummmmmmm...........Oh yeah!! Those are great pics.
I love the floor cleaning thread. I so want a steam cleaner.
Mom glad your dh is doing better.
Jane..yay for a cleaner
Deb...good pics.
Yay for burning vaxcuums. i have a Dyson, but cannot use it due to my surgery.
Got nothing done here, but hte kids did 3 loads of laundry and cleaned the kitchen after every meal (at least 90% of it).
Tomorow I need to get the living room vacuuimed (by one of the kids) and get the offfice cleaned out so dd1 boyfriend has a place to sleep.
-
LOLOL!! You girls are just cracking me up!!
Julz, I've seen some of those Sexy Firefighter calendars from years past & I KNOW JUST WHAT YOU MEAN! Those boys be lightin' MY fire, sistah!!
I'm so glad to hear so many of you say you & yours are BETTER!! Hope if rubs off on the rest of you who need to feel better.
Faith, why am I not surprised that your parents are so adorable & that your father is a retired minister?? How is Duncan & family?
Cathi, are you sure you didn't make up that story about your vacuum cleaner bursting into flame?? That totally surpasses "the dog ate my homework"on the Excuse Hit Parade. LOL
Coonster, are you feeling better your own self? Kathleen? Linda, I'm sorry to hear that your arm is still bothering you. Arnie, any more info about Mr. Arnie?
BTW, I am completely behind the idea of hiring a housecleaner. I've finally gotten a couple of good names & I'm hiring one of these women shortly! Wish I'd done it sooner...
-
Okay I was just thinking what are the odds that one day one of us will become rich and if its me I think I will personally send out a housecleaner for each of my dust bunnies on here. Maybe will have to send each of you a cook too. I mean you have to have nourishment while you watch all that work being done on your house.
How does that sound?
-
Absolutely Wonderful MOM!!!!! A thought to go get some Sweet Leepy Dreamz to!!!!

-
Gosh, so many missing here.............
-
Was it this thread that someone mentioned about setting up some kind of a buddy system? Pairs or groups or whatever of people who can get in touch with each other and then when one is missing from our flock someone has a means of getting in touch. Hopefully all missing are on holidays but I fear that's not the case.

Good early morning to all. I was up earlier than usual, turned on coffee maker, went to potty and came back with coffee running down the counter, onto the cupboards and floor. I had washed the "pot" and forgot to put it back on the machine... So, not even 8:00 and I have very clean counter, cupboards and floor. While I had the mop and bucket out, the entrance floor, and both bathroom floors got mopped. Whew, is it gonna be one of THOSE days?
And yesterday I repotted some plants, ripped the skin off my arm, went in and washed real good w/soap and water, put neosporin on and had NO bandaids. Picture kleenex and scotch tape !!!
Shopping list: bandaids and gauze and tape and crushed pineapple and French vanilla ice cream for pineapple milk shake once it hits 85 degrees or more. (allergic to chocolate, otherwise it would be on the list.)
Very gentle HUGS for all. Have a happy, relaxing, pain free, stress free day. And get yourself some CHOCOLATE, if you can have it. Nancy

Just got back from a long weekend in Thunderbay visiting my parents.I see i have missed alot of action. Julz I must get my hands on that beautiful calendar.Hope everyone is having a good morning.
-
Crap! I can't see pictures at work so I try to remember when I get home and I've gone back and back and back and can't find a calendar of firemen! Someone please put me out of my misery and tell me what page it's on!
-
Mom2two - you have 2 kids and you still find time to clean???? That's the perfect excuse not to, especially since they are just going to dirty it all over again.
I love the dad pics. Mine passed over 20 years ago and I still remember him often as though he were still here. Also had a stepdad although we always dropped the "step" who passed 15 years ago. They were both wonderful guys.
Hope everyone gets relief from pain but think of the up-side - no housework if you're in pain.
Hmmmmm, seems when I first came here I was gung-ho about cleaning and now.... you ladies are a bad influence!
-
Morning ladies. Sending hugs to all who are going to treatments today and for those not feeling well. I have an appointment to get that tooth worked on so remember me in your prayers. Hubby has the headache back too.
Housework has to wait this am as I have to take dd to her exercise class.
My 18 yr old emailed and then called to say she is having a wonderful time and that today they are leaving the beach and going out to see the feeding clinic the ministry has set up to feed hungry kids. I think this trip will be quite an eye opener for her.
-
Bad influence? We are all just busy busy with our housework.HA HA
-
Don't have time to address everybody individually. I am leavin soon for chemo #3. Lab work was good, so it's a go if my blood pressure behaves. Xanax is kicking in, so I'm looped. I declare today a no housework day!!
Prayers and hugs for all!
Mary

Can I join (again) I need help getting my house back together after 6 months of my kids and DH running wild in it. I'm finally feeling better after chemo enough to get up and do something. I am still recovering from exchange surgery last Wednesday but I am feeling pretty good. I'm not allowed to pick up more than 5lbs which has been a challenge but I got to get this place back in order.
Today's goal:
Laundry done (and put away which is a huge problem at our house)
-
Of course you can join Jaimieh!!!! Be beware.......we don't REALLY do alot of housework....LOL We talk about it sometimes........but it's just a cover-up......hehe
It is a wonderful group of ladies and I think you'll make some lifelong friends. Welcome!
-
uh Patoo...I "forgot" to tell you we don't actually clean here...We work harder at making up excuses as to why we can't then we do the actual housework.............I fit in rather well here! ROTF!!!!!!!!!
-
It's too hot here to do housework. The basement is cool so duggus and I may just spend the day down there watching T.V. How's that for doing nothing?
Prayers to all getting txs.
Gentle hugs.
-
Welcome Jamieh, of course you can join us. PLEASE don't do any housework. You still need your rest!! Let the DH and kids run crazy through the house!
Sounds like a plan, Sharon, enjoy your day!
-
Hi there Jamieh! I do some housework, but I lie about it here! SHHHHH!!!!!! He he he! I do know what you mean about needing to get the house back in order. I actually need to get into my office and clean it today and my bedroom (i have junk all over the floor).
Just take it 15 minutes at a time and it is amazing what you can get done.
-
Welcome Jamie. If you actually feel the need to do housework...........sit down and wait for the feeling to pass.
