Here Deb, a little something for your vacuum cleaner.
-
I have so little carpet to actually vacuum thats why I have been "cheap" about buying a new one, the bedrooms have carpet, the porch has indoor out door and I have a large area carpet under table thats it, the rest is tile, but it had seen it's day, many moons ago. Now I have no choice but to get one.
As for aall the sore arms, I didn't have SNB in 06, BS did axillary disection, so can't speak to how long it will be before you don't experience some soreness/numbness, I am years out and if I tend to do alot with that arm, I reep the rewards of the same feeling you girls are talking about. So just be careful, don't want LE.
-
hmm wonder if you can get arrested for arson for setting your vacuum cleaner on fire?
-
In case you need help putting out the fire Deb (don't want to over work that arm) I'll send help.
-
Maybe instead of getting rid of it Deb you could just disguise it.
-

If someone could just send the rain down to South Texas I would gladly send you a little sun. It was so hot this weekend it was hard to breath. Just fixing to head back to work had to get DH off on a road trip.
-
Someone asked about floor cleaner?
I don't have a digital pic of my Dad. Lovely to see the fathers posted above! Coonie, I just knew your Dad was really handsome!! Deb, that pic of your Dad with his tongue out is priceless. Mom, glad to hear DH is feeling fine today.
Kathleen, sorry your shoulder is continuing to be so painful.
We have lots of sun today........and yes, I'm more than willing to share.
Happy day all.........with gentle hugs of course.
Edit to add, I thought that pic was of a man doing floors........not sure if it is or not.
-
That pic with his tongue out was taken at a Subway I managed...that was his character, he was crazy..LOL
And hate to tell you ladies this, but the majority of firemen do NOT look like that! LOL, my hubby was on the fire dept, and I was secretary of the Ladies Auxillary for the fire dept, no one in that dept looked like that....My little brother is still on a fire dept (different one) and No one looks like that there either! LOL
-
Giving a little feel better shout out to our Arnie. Think she is feeling a bit under the weather today, but want her to feel the love.
-
Awwwhhh Sharon.........thanks for calling my dad handsome. He WAS handsome in my eyes. He always had dark black hair until he started turning gray, but then it was distinguished looking. How come it looks distinguuished on men, but on women it just looks old.......LOL
Deb...I think our dads would have been friends. My dad had a great sense of humor. Would have you in stitches all the time.
OK..........sending some love to Arnie. I'm a work, so I can't find a "love" picture, but you know I love you Arnie and I hope you're feeling better real soon!!! Wish I could come make you a good homemade vegetable soup or something.. I'd even feed it to you
Mom........I love the vacuum cleaner dressed up in disguise:) That's toooo funny! Hey, did I ever tell you that my favorite nurse while in the hospital had your first name???!!!! She was my angel. Made me feel better too.
Thanks for the prayers ladies. My tummy is feeling much better today. Just guess it took that bug a little longer to leave than I thought it would. Must have been the MOTHER of all bugs!!!! Whew........I hope I don't pass it on through the web......LOL
((((((((((((((hugs to everybody)))))))))
-
Arnie, gentle hugs. Sorry you aren't feeling so good.
-
Good evening everyone. I have had some catching up to do.
Cathi I'm glad you had the relaxing birthday you wanted. That vacuum setting on fire was certainly a sign from heaven. It's way too hot where you are to be doing housework.
Kimberly belated congratulations on your anniversary.
Patoo a warm welcome to you.
Mom I hope you are able to get your tooth sorted out soon. I had to laugh at the thought of you using some of Coonie's fancy teeth! Glad your DH is feeling better now.
Julz that dust bunnies pennant you made is so beautiful. It was lovely to see all our names on it. Thank you.
Dreamwriter do be careful with housework so soon after surgery. Take it easy.
Arnie sorry you have been feeling poorly. Hope you are better now and that Mr Arnie is doing OK too.
Mary I'm really glad your PAP smear result came back as normal. I did a similar thing with my smear test. I went to my Dr in March this year to ask him to take a look at an area under my arm that I was concerned about. While I was there he mentioned that I was due for a cervical screening test in April so I could book in for one if I wanted. I duly booked a test, turned up and went away to wait for the result. Meanwhile my Dr referred me to a Breast Care Centre for the area I was concerned about. I went through all the tests and was eventually diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a mastectomy in May. The day after I got home from hospital a letter arrived with the results of my cervical screening. I was very nervous as I opened it. It said, "I am pleased to tell you that your recent cervical screening test was normal. This means that you are at very little risk of developing cancer at this time." Although this was obviously good news it also really amused me. I laughed so much it made my drains hurt. It was just the thought that when I had the test done I already had cancer.
PatMom ouch! Yes iron burns are very painful. I have had a few in my time, usually when I am trying to rush.
Coonie still praying for your poor old tummy. Great picture you posted of your Dad.
Deb your granddaughter looks so adorable in your wig. Loved the collage you made for your Dad's memorial, especially the one with him sticking his tongue out.
Shiny I'm pleased your explanations to your son about transition to the new school are going well. Your Dad will be pleased and proud of you.
Jane I think it is more than enough to work 60 hours per week. You already are superwoman! I say go for it and get the cleaner in.
Faith what a gorgeous photo of you with your parents.
Nancy I agree the white vinegar was great for windows, in the days when I used to wash my windows. I have used it on wooden furniture too, to remove a build up of polish.
Kathleen sorry to hear that your shoulder is still painful. I hope it feels better soon.
I have also been getting worried about Lursa. No idea how to contact her if there is no reply to a PM.
As I mentioned in my last very brief post, we were staying with Nick's sister and her family this weekend. They live near Oxford and we don't see nearly enough of them. Yesterday we went into Oxford and took a punt out on the river, then looked round one of the colleges and had lunch at a pub built into the city walls. In the evening we all sat down to a big roast dinner together. It was a nice relaxing weekend.
((((((Hugs to all of you))))))

Hey Jayne......you're either a REALLY good note taker, or your brain retains information really well......LOL Thanks for getting me caught up on everyone. Isn't your treatment starting soon? Keep us posted, ok? I think you said 1st of July? How is the weather in your neck of the woods? Maybe I could come visit you
hehe Take care and good luck!!! If you see Shiny, give her a hug for me:) heheha
-
Allooooooooooooooooooooo Everyone,
Jayne BRAVO madame, gosh you really did a fine recap there, far better then I could just now. My brain is mushhhhh.
I have read up on most of the latest pages, although am seriously lagging on keeping up "properly"; I have officially run out of steam; I am reading and "feeling" and "writing" in my mind, but come the end of the thread, am mush again for re cap. Coming over with pen and paper next time. I still feel blessed and grateful, but the brain and body are in serious "lemonette" mode! Lack of sleep and some pain issues, nothing flash.
I feel for all of you in chemo right now, did 6 months of it, but it feels so long ago now. Also can sooo relate to the full node disection pain. I can say that the nerve pain is MUCH better now on the upper arm. Honestly but the lymphedema thing is a constant thing to watch, any extra lifting and you feel it. Miss being the work "horse" round here, used to be a serious car packer and climbing frame for the kids, so MAkraz I can relate to the kids missing the fully "operational" mum.
Sending you the most sincere super strong healing and feel peachy vibes.
Take care,
Shiny
-
Jules, I just set my house on fire. Pleae send the firemen over!
Sending rain to Texas now....
Thanks for the kind words and healing vibes, Shiny!!
-
You are very welcome Makraz!
Now, where is Barbe when I need her. She is good at telling me off and getting me to go to bed!
I felt like I needed tooth picks to keep my eyes open today (no sleep going on here much), now I get the kids both in bed by 8, do some basic chores and by the time I am ready to get some sleep, the adrenaline or "famed second wind" comes in, and well here I am. Not clever enough to get anything brainy done, just awake enough to come visit and "google".(9:45 pm)
Barbe tell me off if you are around. he he.
Shiny
-
OMG Shiny! Do NOT make me come over there!
Something "made me log on" at work and then I see THIS!? You are still up? I want you to go to bed and think of wonderful memories of your Dad. Then you will dream of him. It works for me all the time. That's how I bring people into my dreams.
You know you are no good to anyone if you let your body run down. It is Shiny-time. Get-down-Shiny-time....
Sweet dreams........
-
Okidoki mam,
I shall log off right now. I sure hope I sleep. I will do as you say, woudn't want to mess with you.
Thank you Barbe, sometimes I just need "slapping silly" or the thread equivalent!
I do loooove sleep and me bed, just doesn't seem to work out often.
Am off. Have a good day at the office.. wish you didn't have to commute so long though.
Take care
Shiny

-
Awww Shiny don't tell me I missed ya. Don't worry about trying to keep up with all we say on here, its too much even for most of us on the good days. Just pop in and chat, no trying to keep up with everything. Okay?
-
Good to see you Shiny.
Linda, be careful, that's a lot of firemen!!!
-
I have a rather embarrassing housework story to share. (Or lack of housework is more to the point.) Keep in mind I've had dogs ALL my life and this has never happened before...........so..........
Yesterday DH and I went out for the afternoon, here and there, had a lovely time. I kept stopping and taking off my sandle to brush off the bottom of my foot as something was irritating it. Well it didn't help so when I got home.......I got my glasses on and actually looked at the bottom of my foot expecting a splinter of some sort. Lo and behold there was a dog hair that I tried to brush away only to find it was imbedded in my foot. Not deep but enough to cause irritation. So, apparently I need to clean the dog hair off my floors........AND my feet.
-
Nah, just wear slippers...
(don't make life more difficult than it is).
I'll share a baddie to make you feel better. When I lifted up the bag of catfood the other night a whole crew of ants were under it and I lift it every day! My DH figures they came in the livingroom sliding door that we keep open a bit for the cats during the day. Yah right, and walked across the livingroom, into the kitchen to the far wall where the cat food is. Riiiiiiiiiight.
Oh well, he stepped on them all and now I just don't look when I feed the cats!
-
Deb, maybe the firefighters in PA where Julz lives look like those guys in the picture!
I'm almost done planting my flowers. Ran on the treadmill today! It feels so good to get some energy back after chemo ended in April.
-
If they do, I'm moving to to Pennsylvania! LOL....
-
Ok Dusty Bunnies......No Need to Move to Pennsylvania!!!! But I have seen a Few Cute Ones.....In fact I danced with them Last Summer!!!!
DH is a private DJ.....& Played for a Big Fire House Party this past year!!!!! Lots of FireMen All Shapes & Sizes.....A few Cute Ones in the Bunch!!!! BOY CAN THEY DANCE!!!!! But they were so tipsy they Didn't realize they were Dancing with a Bunch of Ladies 20 to 30 years their Senior!!!!!
!!!!! But boy did WE show THEM how to Dance!!!!
-
I used an iron today. Wasn't really "ironing" as in housework, but using the iron in quilting effort.
Still, it's a household tool of sorts. Seems like it could count for something??
Thanks to all for noticing my dear parents. I'm sure my dad will pray for you, Coonie. He's great about that. He retired a decade or so ago, but it's still his major strength.
Jayne thanks for your detailed outline of everyone's world. Big help to keep us on top of things.
Miracle, glad to hear that your pain has subsided.
Sharon & Barbe there's a danger in having hairy beasts in your midst on a daily basis.
Deb your collage brought tears to my eyes. What a great way to share your father with us.
Coonie I can envision that your dad would get along easily with Deb's.
Shiny. Sending good thoughts for your little bear's transition. Rest up.
Arnie. How are you doing?? Sending you good thoughts.
Mom. Glad your husband is on the mend.
Patoo. You're really too knowledgable for this thread. Take a deep breath and see if you can slack off a bit.
Kathleen, sending you good vibes for continued healing for your shoulder.
The danger in making a list is I know I'm leaving out too many.
Hugs and strength to all in need.
Mary, Lursa and all others in the midst....... sending you hugs.
Cathi, glad that you're feelin' a bit better. Keep resting.
Dream, sure hope you're taking my slacker advice.
It's supposed to be in the 80's again tomorrow. My, my.
xx00xx00xx00xx
-
Julz. We can always count on you to heat things up for us.
Is your DH staying with the babee?? Hugs while you hold down the fort.
-

BIG HUGS TO ALL THAT NEED!!!!!!!!!! ((((((((((((((((DUST BUNNIES))))))))))))))))
