hello ladies!
Just peeked at the last 5 pages or so, boy am I out of the loop!
EWB, lovely news re your onc appt. Mom, as mistakes go, that is def the way around you'd want it (better to have the error on the paper work then on you!) Still, stressful am sure.
Arnie, just sent you a pm. xx
Coonie, you are such a gem, boy, you can't have had chemo, your brain is wayyyy too sharp, remembering everything and everyone, gosh, if only, i'd get so much more done. Chemo def had an inpact on my memory skills, I think it's worse from fatigue though. |Glad you are fully on the mend.
Texasrose, you seem to be managing your chemo pretty well. Well done girl.xx
Faith, congrats on the new babes! been meaning to ask about your music for early years and also about if you know about good guided relaxation cds for Special needs kids, ei: wording kept simple, if you have any you rate, pm me?
Lots of household chores, Transition and prep, SEN Tribunal, my dd's 6th b/day party to sort for next weekend, and when I can stop and think of my dear dad. That's my recap. Oh and prolonged post chemo fatigue accupuncture study, delayed until September.
EVERYBODY be as peachy as you can be, wishing you a lovely restful, pain, stress and chore free weekend, full of sinfully delicious, yet calorie free delights. ..(did I mention, I am trying to looze 40 pounds?..I know I am going to get fed up of carrots eventually, but so far so good!, after all, as a tri neg, it is really the 1 thing I should be doing).
xx Shiny

Oh my- loads going on! Yipey for new babies, how very sweet!
Yipeys for birthdays-Cathi enjoy your day--be sure they treat you as the Goddess you are.
Hope for good health and pain free days for all. Barbe hoping we have seen (or felt) the last of Mick!!
Anyone in the area please join us tomorrow for the blow out birthday/graduation/father's day party...the more the merrier. I don't think I would every have children this old 21 and 18, I don't feel old enough. It has been quite a journey with them...some bad, some challenaging, but mostly good and amazing to watch them grow and see the world and become really neat people. Not only do I love my children, but I really like them. They are so interesting, very different from each other. What a gift I have been given.
-
Happy Birthday Cathi!!!! I hope you have a WONDERFUL day filled with much fun and laughter!
-
Shiny!!!!!!!!!!!! It's soooooo good to see your post!!! I think about you all the time! It sounds like you're staying busy. That's a good thing. I'll be sending you warm thoughts and prayers this weekend. Do you all celebrate Father's Day on Sunday? If so, my arms are reaching way out to give you a big ole hug. I hope your little girl has a wonderful birthday party. Are you having a tea party? Six years old is such a cute age. Keep us posted on things, ok?

Hi again, hunny-bunnies! Finally got the chance to go back & catch up a little more, so here's a catch-up post.
Mum, do you have a surgery date yet? I'm with you on no recon. I'm so sick of doctors, I wouldn't even let Dr. Cutie-Pie touch me with a ten-foot-pole!!
Mom, thank goodness the report was wrong!! DCIS is bad enough.
Elaine, hugs to you about the scans (hate any picture-taking that involves drinking goop!) & have a good time at the Big Party!
Cheryl, have meant to say hi to you a bunch of times. How's work? I have to tell you that one time when I was visiting my mom inFlorida I rented a convertible & it rained like it was the end of the bleeping world for nearly the entire time I was in Orlando!! Sun only came out on the last day so finally I could put the top down!! LOL
bkc, thanks for posting that marine's address. Good golly, the poor guy! I'd rather loose my boobs than my legs...
Mary, how are ya? Still drinking lots of water?
Kathleen, I need to make a home PT visit to you, girlfriend, to see if I can help you with that shoulder!
Arnie, if my cell phone didn't have a little keyboard like a teeny computer, I wouldn't be texting at all!! I'm clueless....
Deb, glad your grandson is getting to eat lots of ice cream now. I was a big fan of creamsicles when I had my tonsils out!!
Jane, reread your post & realized you said near Mass, not in Mass.! Good luck tomorrow.
Shiny, as the above demonstrates, I can attest to the fact that rads evidently take their toll on brain function, too, even when they're not brain rads! I swear, it's not just my boob that got fried -- my short-term memory was already challenged with menopause. Now, I have temporary brain blips all the time!! I'm like a radio that won't stay tuned reliably to any station!!
Hey, everybody, I want to ask you all a big favor. One of my blog sisters was kind enough to nominate my blog for an award for Most Provocative Blog of 2009. I certainly try to provoke on my blog!!! I try to provoke thought, laughter, sass, support & understanding for this sleigh ride we've all been on. If you haven't visited, it's here at www.accidentalamazon.com.
There's a purple button on my blog sidebar that will link you to the award voting. Or you can just go here at www.socialluxelounge.com/blogluxe/. You can vote each day till July 6th.
Thanks!!

-
Ooooooooh, Faith!!!
-
Barbe, I really hope you passed Mick! Good riddance!
Faith, congrats on the new grandson! The picture with his brothers is precious!
Happy birthday Cathy!
I worked today and will again tomorrow and Sunday. I have been having a problem with pain in the breast I had augmented. The mastectomy side feels fine. When I have a day off work I can pace myself and rest if I get pain. At work I am on the move all the time. If I hadn't mentioned before I am an RN in a hospital. Sure enough, a few hours into the shift I am hurting. I called my PS today and he didn't help much. He just suggested all the things I was already doing and told me to call next week if I was still having pain. (big sigh
) Thanks for listening to me whine!
Hugs to all bunnies!
-
Faith, they are all so beautiful!!!
-
Thanks for the good thoughts everybody! Tuesday will my 3rd out of 4 AC treatments. Getting close to being done with the red devil!!
Faith- What a beautiful family!! Congratulations!!
Cheryl- Sorry you have pain. Hope it resolves soon!
Shiny- GREAT to see you! You are always in my thoughts. Hugs!!
Happy birthday Cathi!!!!!
Kathi- Off to vote for your blog!
-
Good Morning Ladies! Since I won't be here when you wake up, wanted to tell you now..course I don't know what you slugs are STILL doing in bed, it's 4:30am! We have a hamfest to go to at 6am...(think flea market full of radios, antennas, etc) We sat up till 2am trying to get everything together and thought we would lay down till 4, but neither of us could sleep so no sleep tonite..Oh well, will catch up when we get home! You ladies behave yourselves today!
Prayers to all who need em!
Love ya's!
-
Wow! Babies (yah Faith!) and hams (have a blast Deb) and sore body parts {{{{ Cheryl }}}}}, {{{{ Cathi }}}}}. Shiny's back home! Blogs to vote for... Mary only has to dance with the Devil one more time...
DEFINITELY as no housework day!
-
Goodness sakes, Deb. You'll be running on adrenaline by now. Stay awake. Drive carefully.
Thanks to all for your well-wishes for the extending of our family. I get absolutely no credit biologically or genetically for that beautiful family pictured above. Technically this is my 'step-son' and his lovely wife. They've been together the entire length of time that we have. LOL. Sixteen years, now -- so I don't think of them as his and mine any more. All that really matters is that we have another baby to love together.
Our other three grands are biologically mine.
(Not that it matters a twit, but I thought I'd attempt to clarify for those who are new to me.)
Cathi!!! Today's your day. Hope that the weather makes it pleasant and you have some fun plans!!
We have sunshine today, so it's off to do all things "wondermous" as our Coonie would say.
Prayers continue for all going thru treatment of all sorts and therapy.
xx00xx00xx
-
Oh Faithie.............I DO hope you have a wondermous day!!! Enjoy the sunshine. By the way, what is the temp? If it's near as hot there as it is here, I don't see how you enjoy it. It would be like going outside with an oven over your head:) Hey.........grandkids are grandkids!!!! They're all beautiful.........if you ever want to give some up, just send 'em south. I've only got one DD and it don't look like I'm gonna have any no time soon
.............so I'll take what I can.
Cathi----------I hope your birthday is just GRAND!!!! Make Ed treat you good.....maybe diamonds.....pearls.......birthday cake..........no housecleaning!!! hehe Just enjoy your day!! And be thankful for another birthday!!!
((((((((((((((((((love all you bunnies)))))))))))) have a great (wondermous) Saturday!
-
Why is it, out of 6 team members (ranging in age from 19-44), that the only one who stayed up all night was the 44 year old cancer survivor?
The Relay for Life at Columbia-Greene Community College raised $42,000+ for the American Cancer Society.
-
Happy Birthday, or was it yesterday? I am so befuddled with days and dates lately. I put post its on my bathroom mirror, then forget to check it... Maybe I need a secretary or personal assistant.
Today Bonnie (chemo buddie) and I are having lunch then to Arlington National Cemetery. Of course it is raining at the moment, but we made it thru chemo and surgeries and a little rain isn't going to stop us. This also means NO HOUSEWORK.
Enjoy, relax, rest well, heal quickly. Hugs and Blessings, Nancy
-
Oh Jane!! You go girl!!!! Soak those feet today........LOL
Nancy, hope you and Bonnie have a great day! You're right........if you made it through chemo, a little rain is a walk in the park..........in the rain.....LOL
-
Faith- a beautiful family!
-
Good morning!
Looks like I'm not the only one propping my eyes open with toothpicks this morning. Could not sleep last night at all!
Nancy- I am so dippy with the chemo brain, I thought you were from Alaska!! LOL Guess I saw the AK (AKA- I get it now!) in your name and decided that. Duh!
Faith- Family has nothing to do with biology anymore!! Just enjoy them!!
I'll be heading out into the oven myself Coonie. It is SO hot and SO dry!
Jane- Yeah for you!! Way to show the younguns!! And good job on the money for the ACS!
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am resting up for AC #3. I wold love to say no housework, but DH is out of town so I do have basic chores to accomplish. Very, very basic though. Enjoy the day!
-
Happy Birthday Cathi
-
Good morning ladies, hope everyone is having a good day. Faith love the pictures. Babies are so awe inspiring. Deb have fun. My late Uncle was very into Ham radios CBs etc. He had friends all over the world. Thought it was really neat.
Kids are wanting to do something fun today. Think we will play in the sprinkler. That way I can water the grass to.
I just realized I am repeating to my children the goofy things my Mother told me as a child.
"Get down from there before you break your neck!"
"You're gonna put your eye out with that!"
"If you don't quit making faces at your sister your face is gonna freeze that way!"
ETC...........
-
xpectmiracles - I wouldn't wait a week! I can't speak to the augmentation since I only had a mastectomy - but a week is too long to make you deal with pain! Especially since you have been trying several things already! Sometimes I think that doctors just try to appease us enough to get us out of the office or off the phone, and then they don't have to try! Surely there is a remedy or cause that could be explored! Keep us posted and I'll be thinking of you!
-
Welcome 2hands4me. It's good to have you on the housekeeping thread. This bunch is great. Join in and make yourself at home. And whatever you do..............DO NOT do housework.....LOL
BKC I think we're all turning in to our mothers. I've done the same thing through the years with my daughter. She's almost 22 now and I STILL remind myself of my mother. The sprinkler sounds like fun. That's the ONLY way to cool off down here in the south. It's so scorching hot today. There's an Andy Griffith marathon going on today on tv, so I might snuggle down and watch that all day.
Deb.....hope you have a fun day. I've heard that was a great sport, but it sure sounds like you need to take a nap sometime today. Whew.........
Big hugs to all bunnies!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy your Saturday.
Anybody seen MOM lately? Was she going out of town or something?
-
Uhhhhhhhhhh, no housework? I thought I was coming here for support that you all were going to fly into NJ and help me clean. Bummer!!!
Okay, I promise no hw today but can I ask a question related to cleaning? Anyone have the Haan Floor Steam cleaner? Have seen it on infomercials a few times and wondering if it's any good. I put in laminate floors last year and need to find some way (easy) to clean them. Those microfiber pads on a handle just not doing the trick well.
Back later. Since I can't do hw today off with my DS to have lunch and pick up a weeding gift (think I'll get a shoulder massage as well).
-
To my sweet Florida Friend,
-
patoo, I hate to be the one to tell you, but we only pretend to do housework here. Actually thought when I started this thread all those months ago that that was what I needed to do, but I've met so many fun and interesting gals on here that mostly I forget about the housework and instead have a cup of tea and a time of chat and its much more fun than the housecleaning ever was. Although once in awhile I do have to catch up even on that.
So grab a cup of coffee, and some of that party confetti and join the fun.
