Good morning ladies. Boy are ya'll all up and at it this morning. We slept in we have a big night.

Coonie it is Porshalin that is having the recital. She is so excited. She did very well at the dress rehearsal. The little ones are so cute.

Her first set is a song about kittens and her outfit is black and deep purple with sparkles all over it. Very pretty. Second is a pink and black pokadot leotard and black sparkled Tutu with a black feathered boa. Very cute.

Most of the other moms are having the girls hair fixed today and have a professional do their makeup. $150 is the cost and we just cannot afford that right now so I am doing Porshalins myself.

Ms. Debbie the instructor and owner of the dance studio asked me last night who did her hair and makeup and I said I did.She said don't you dare do anything different she looks fabulous!!!!! Have to admit I cheated and she was wearing a hair piece but her hair is so thin and fine it needed to be filled out.

Anyway you ladies have fun today. I think i will be busy for the rest of it!!!

Linda tried to find a soccer mom award for you too but couldn't get one to come up.Frown

bkc you sound like a talented mom yourself to be able to do the hair and makeup. The hair piece is exactly for that kind of thing so no cheating just creative mom at work.Smile

Lori hoping your Saturday is relaxing. We have sun right now but thats suppose to change to some thunderboomers in a few more hours.

Arnie I was thinking about Shiny too. That kind of thing is rough even when you are feeling well physically much less when you are going through treatments for bc. We will just have to surround our friend with prayers this week and ask the Lord to give her strength. Times like this it would probably be good to build our friendship here outside of computer world too.

bkc I've thought of Porshalin several times today. I bet she's just beautiful in her outfits. Would love to see some pics:) I know you all are so proud of her :) Give her a "high five" for me:)

Lori sounds like your day is fun too! Can you post pics. I think that's one sport I wish I could have learned. Never know when you might need it:) Hope your day has been great.

(((((((((((((Shiny))))))))))) been thinking about you ALL day today. Really hope you're doing ok. I know it's tough. Just think though.......your dad has been made whole......a new body.....new eyes to see!!! I know you will miss him though. Many hugs and prayers to you and your family.

MaryRose sending gentle hugs and prayers your way too. If it helps any, the 3-5 days were usually my worst after chemo. Hang in there sweet lady. You can do this.....just hang on:)

Mom hope your weekend is going great. You're right about the friendships. Sure wish I could do something for my sisters that are having a hard time.

Arnie!!! Where are you?? Are you sleeping? Hope you're having a good day too.

My sweet Canadian friend Sharon. Hope you're having some sunshine today and you're able to enjoy a walk with doggus:) Big slobbery kisses to him from Lucky and Opie:)

Missing Barbe still......can't wait to hear about the trip and TROPHY WIFE! hehe.....LOL.....and I just love looking at wedding pics.

Where is 2new1's? Have I missed her post? I don't remember seeing anything from her in awhile.

Sending big hugs to everybody. Hope your Saturday is going great. I got the bushes trimmed out front. Haven't done housework today, but sure enjoyed being outside. I hear Dora is looking for work........anybody need help with their house?

Coonie send Dora on over. I decided to start on phase 2 of my clear the junk out and  have my bed covered with things from the closet and dresser that I want to go through.

I resisted going to any yard sales today and there were soooooo many signs up too.

Hubby came home and took us out to eat and then actually did a little shopping with me. I even found what I wanted to begin our Round Robin.

Shiny.......... I've been away from my laptop for much of the week and am so sorry to learn of your loss and want you to know that I am heaping on prayers for you now, even tho I'm late --- they are quite sincere. I'm so glad that you've had our circle of dust-bunnies praying for you, throughout.

Treasure all of the memories and stories. Retrace all of the family jokes and events that make you think fondly of the past.

Know that we are all with you in spirit as you make this journey.

Good to see you back Faith.  I don't how you do all that traveling. I had to go to the next town from us to pick up a friend of my daughter's who needed to run an errand and only had my youngest dd for company.  It seemed strange to be wandering so far from home.  I was kind of happy I could make the run but was totally out of my comfort zone.

    thanks, mom.

    it's been an awesome week!!

i've stretched my "comfort zone" bit by bit and piece by piece.

now i am confident/comfortable in my jaunts that take me here & there, on my own.

i pray for the encouragement of those i meet on the road -- and i've always been met w/kindness

(and of course the fact that all of you are sending prayers for me sure helps a bucket)

Well ladies recital is finally over. This has been the longest week. Yesterday on the way to dress rehearsal we had a blowout on the front of the van.Didn't have all the pieces to the jack to change out the tire so started calling everybody I could think of for help. Not a soul would or could come to our aid. Poor Porshalin was frantic thinking she would be late. Finally my son's friend came and helped me change the tire. We even made it to rehearsal on time.

This afternoon we go out to find that the spare is low and I don't have the money for a new one. And we have exactly 4 hours until show time.Porshalin started crying which made me cry which made my husband upset. I just sat on the side of the bed and prayed and prayed I was just so upset that after all the struggles we've had lately and everything we've done to try to let Porshalin finish out dance this year that it would all come down to this. I just couldn't quit crying.

My husbands boss called to see what time recital was so he could put him out of service and he told him we were not going to be able to go. His boss told him to go put a new tire on the company credit card and they could work it out later. I got the girls dressed while he did that and we rushed off to make it on time.

We get to the college and my husband asks if I have the tickets. TICKETS????? I have spent every last dime I have on getting every last minute thing she needed and forgot about tickets. I go up to the ticket booth and ask how much tickets are and they are $5 a piece and I need three. I scrounge in my purse and come up with $1.69 so embarrassed I turned away with tears threatening once again. I just closed my eyes and said Lord I don't know how much more of this I can take. Then a man touched my shoulder and handed me three tickets and said he bought extra and those people weren't going to make it. He will never know how much that meant to me.

We sat down and enjoyed the show and at intermission two of the teachers from Porshalin's daycare found me and handed me a huge bouquet of roses and a gift for her. They knew I couldn't afford it and wanted to make sure she wasn't left out because all the other girls were carrying  flowers for the finale. Oh you should all have seen her face when I took that huge bouquet to her dressing room. Her eyes lit up and she was just breathless "Oh Mommy"she said."What beautiful flowers. I feel just like I'm in a fairy tale!"

I will never doubt that God had his hand on my shoulder and he was guiding me to these awesome wonderful people. I am so grateful I just can't seem to quit crying.

Sorry for such a long post but needed to tell someone and who better to tell.

    bkc,

what a story! Not much brings tears to these old, jaded eyes but that line about being in a fairy tale sure did! Bless you for sharing.

(((Hugs))) shiny! I want you to know we are all still thinking about you.

I have a long post over on the May 2009 surgery thread about what a day I had on Friday. It's an awful post and I'm kinda embarrased about it, but the details are there.

This is the 3rd time in 6 weeks I've been in surgery. I want you Gals to know you've helped me out each and every time!

    Thank You All!

    xoxo

bkc what a wonderful experience.  The provisions He gave you and your daughter that day were more precious than any riches the wealthiest person on earth could have given you. One because your needs were provided and two because you know the provisions came right from the Lord. His timing was perfect.

Lursa I will have to go to the other site and read about what happened.

Mumayan you have a wonderful cruise. Take some pics for us to see. See me right there with Lursa banging those pots and pans and wishing you a bon voyage. (Also picture all those people staring at us saying "what are those women doing????"Cool)

See Jayne being on this threads chases the clouds away even over there.Smile

Lefty hoping for herceptin free days for you very, very soon!

Faith think after all those prayers that bkc may need to use your name too!

    Jayne- Glad you have sunshine!

Nancy- Gente hugs to you too! Only two appointments is great! Hope it stays that way!

    PatMom- Hugs!

    Linda- Hope you have sunshine!

Lursa, That is one heck of a day.  You both must have been scared to death.  I'm so glad that you were not alone and youa cted the way you did.  It sucks enough having to go through this, but the added drama is just not needed. Rest up, you get the rest of the year off from cleaning house!

    HUGS!
