amen mom! Could not agree more... you preach it sista!

Hi girls!
Waaaaaay too far behind to try and catch up!
Just wanted to pop in and say that I'm alive and well. Very, very tired, but I was ready for that. I'm not doing a danged thing around the house today!! It's a couch day.
It's day 3 and I still have no nausea, no vomiting, no metallic taste, no fever, no diarrhea and no constipation. Thank God for that wonderful Emend pill for the nausea!! Got the Neulasta shot yesterday and no joint or bone pain yet. I have no appetite at all though so haven't been eating much. Got through my doctor appointment yesterday. Wonder if I am the only idiot in the world who has ever had a pap smear the day after my first chemo? Talk about bad timing!!
No housework here today. Probably not for awhile.
Luckily, I nested before chemo so the house is clean and the laundry is done. For now. When you don't have kids, it stays cleaner longer.
So very, very, very tired. I think the couch is calling me, but I wanted to check in. I missed y'all!!
Big love and hugs to all and prayers to those who need it!!
-
Texas... just know we're thinking about you...now go rest!!!
-
You said it Mom!! That is so true!! I will come over for coffee (diet coke) any time and not look at anything on your floors, countertops, etc! A clean house is a sign of a sick mind!!
-
Hang in thre Mary. I'm glad you are not having lots of side effects. Just think, your are closer to finishing now. I agree with you on the pap! At least it's over and done with!
Get some rest.

Sweet dreams Tex

Got a couple of cold glasses waiting Linda, come on over anytime.
-
OOOHHHH!!! LOOKS REFRESHING! Thanks!
Arnie, is the elephant in that picture a crack at my recent weight gain?? Looks like me!
Rain, rain, go away......
-
ROLF... nope, Makraz... that's me! lol All the jeans are getting tight...thought you were supposed to loose weight on chemo... is it the steroids????
-
Hey dustbunnies....just got a minute to say hello. I'm working today at my real job.
Hey Linda......when does school let out for your boys? Or are they already out??
Good to see you Jayne.....I know what you mean about WAITING. That is one of my very very weak points!! I want things to start...........NOW!! hehe Good luck to you. I hope your oncologist is wonderful. It makes all the difference in the world to have someone compassionate and who cares.
Lursa....I love that name Odin. You're right about them being "big". Mine think they are rotweilers. They really do!!!
Lefty, I've heard of that site you mentioned. I think someone posted it on here when we first started this thread. It sounds like some good ideas.
Awwhhh Kathleen.....hope your headache is better. Do you think it could be from chewing gum?? hehe........or the stress of worry about Oliver? ((((((big hugs to you)))))))
Mom...thanks for the poppyseed muffins!! Yummy...I like any kind of muffin.....well, actually, I like most any kind of food........that's not good for me 'cause I'm 5'2" and since my bilat it all goes to the middle. I look like an old pot-bellied man
MaryRose!!!!!!! Oh sweetie.....I know how you're feeling. You for sure just need to take care of yourself!! I know about the loss of appetite thing. The only thing I wanted was mashed potatoes and gravy. That's pretty much all I ate during chemo. I lost about 20 lbs (I needed to anyway). I never got nauseated or threw up, but I just didn't have an appetite for anything. But........you've GOT to eat something and be sure to drink lots of fluids. Maybe eat popcicles or something. If you like yogurt, that would be something good. I'll be praying that you don't have the SE's. Mine was mostly diahrreah and fatigue! ((((((((((((((((big gentle hugs for you)))))
Barbe!!!! Just where are you and when are you coming home???!!!! You've been gone too long and I (we) think it's high time you get yourself back here..........so THERE!! hehe
Arnie....I think steroids do cause people to gain weight....yuckola......huh?
Hey Sharon.......did I heard you got your pennants done? Please don't tell me you have
You're trying to add pressure to my life aren't you??
((((((((((((((hugs everybody))))))))

Coonie, The kids get out of school on June 17th so I still have a few more weeks of sanity left!
Have a great day at work!
-
Great googa mooga!!! They get out late, huh? Our kids are already out around here. Of course, they'll go back the middle of August.
-
Hey......I'm missing KAK and Cathi......have they posted and maybe I missed them?? Hope all is well for them. Or maybe they did post and I just missed it. That's always possible with my loonie coonie brain:)
-
My kids start Sept 1st this year. We had ALOT of snow days this year. We have to make them up. It's pretty average that they get out around the 20th.
I think Cathi and KAK are hiding in Barbs suitcase!! We miss you ladies!
-
Our schools are out as of tomorrow. So I thought I'd get a few errands done today but DH is not feeling well and decided to stay home so won't get my free day in after all.
arnie, watch those steroids are you may wind up looking like this.
-
Hi again!
Just wanted to jump in here and say steroids do make you gain weight. My Mom was on prednisone when she was ill. She was always little and weighed 98 lbs sopping wet, yet she gained nearly 30lbs while on steroids. She said she was STARVING all the time. Her jowels got really big too. She lost it all when she went off them tho, so there is hope!
(((hugs)))

that pic is gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not fond of the female bodybuilder look myself. Then again when you have rocks for boobs maybe they can't get things like dcis and idc???
-
mom, have just pm'd you.
Am in bed, feet, heals screaming. 2 more playdates to host tomorrow, love the kids, but oh my lemonette body! 1st Acupuncture session on Wens(part of a trial for fatigue, up to 5 yr on from chemo), we shall see.
Makraz and Coonie, my kids are finishing school on the 23rd of July and starting again 1st week September. I need to learn how to post via photobucket, then you can tell me what's growing in my garden!!
Texas rose, so glad you are not experiencing the nausea, boy I had that big time!
Jane, hope you get on to your chemo asap, totally understand you wish to get on with it! Do go for the "look good, feel better sessions" hopefully they are held at your hospital. Ask your macmillan nurse about it or any BC care nurse. The session is a lovely free treat, two hours of make up tips and application and then you get a lovely huge bag of terrific products to keep! There are VERY few perks to chemo, but accessing those sessions is definitely 1 off them!(oh, other perk of course, is actually whooping those cancer cells!) he he.
Take care all of you lovely ladies.

Housework hugs to all.
Here is a helpful hint.

WOW......this is a fast tread. Go away for a week and I miss 15 pages. Just got caught up, took me most of the morning. Thanks to those who included my name on their shirts(cannot remember who it was too many pages ago to remember) I am truly honoured to be included. Maui was fabulous, my friends wedding was spectacular. My 2 sons and I did as much as we could do in our week there. We managed to fit in swimming with the dolphins (and Wolphin) ziplining, visisting the crater, going to the wedding, getting thrown around by the waves on big beach, My #2 son did snuba nad surf lessons while #1 son and I got in plenty of shopping. I will post some pics once I move them to photobucket.
(((HUGS)))) to everyone Lori
