What a scary thing you had at the pool, mom. I know you have another name, and MOM is reserved for my 96 year old female parent.
When my son was about 4 months old, they offered a water babies class in a heated indoor pool, with complete supervision and people to hold your baby while you got dressed (or undressed). All the babies floated perfectly face down. we lifted their chins from time to time and soon they were really swimming - or kicking and moving thru the water and lifting their heads themselves. My son ended up on the high school swim team and rowing team.
I transplanted the Four O'clocks I started from seed into a window box today. There is a lot of sun on one side of my 8 foot concrete slab/patio and I have hostas in pots in the shady area. I rescued a fake tree from the dumpster. My son calls it my "forest". I do miss my garden but this is much easier on my back and I do NOT have to rake zillions of leaves. 36 years of that should give me plenty of points for days I don't feel like doing housework.... It has to be in the upper 70's & sunny today and they were wrong about more rain. We have had over 6 inches so far this month.
I forgot to ask if I can go in the pool with a port. Last summer I had no energy with weekly taxol and herceptin, and never went over to the pool once. Since this is the private apartment pool, I wonder how "clean" it really is since there are no regulations like in a "public" pool. And there are feral cats around and foxes and the other day I saw a rat at the dumpster area. eeewwwww !!!

Morning ladies.... I love waking up and smiling at the antics of my friends....lol
Nice looking guy Sharon...I might just join you...
-
Good Morning! You guys all go to bed so early..I'm up & down all night. The nicodiene patches, I think aren't helping. I've had some bizzare dreams the past couple of nights. Night before last I dreamed that Patrick Stewart & I were in the back seat of a car and he was teaching me about quantum physics. Lordy!
You guys found Barbe yet?
TexasRose, how you feelin today?
Arnie? You had chemo a few days ago, how're you doin?
Makraz, isn't it amazing how quickly those times of terror when our kids are in danger come and go? I've got 3 grown kids and a 12 y/o DD. My heart's been in my throat more than once! Motherhood is NOT for the faint of heart!
Shiny, Jayne, how are you this afty? Nearly tea time there. Lesse, the UK is 7 hrs ahead of us, correct?
Welcome London! Good to see all you Brit girls here.
Coonie, we have a doxxy too. The first 'little dog' I've ever had. He's 9 now. I used to laugh at people who treated their dogs like family but I can't stand to go from home and leave him. When we left for the onc yesterday, he looked like he'd lost his best friend. I honestly don't know if I could ever have another kind of dog. Thank goodness you got home ok with your tire. You don't see blow-outs much anymore but I remember when I was young starting my family we were always driving rattle trap trucks. I used to joke that we never got pulled over because the officer would have to write us a ticket for driving without a vehicle.
Love all the pics! I'm gonna buckle down & learn how to do that soon.
Onc appointments SUCK! They take forever! But I do like my Onc. I just have to remember to hydrate well before going in as they always take 6 gallons of blood before you go.
Umm..House work. I've not done a lick since my surgery...no, 1 load of wash, and that's it. It's really starting to look like it. ..Hmmmm...maybe tomorrow.
I would like to type more but DH is in bed beside me and keeps giggling. I think he wants some attention....*sigh*.

Oh neat.........Lursa, what's your dog's name? They have personalities like humans:) We had one at first, and when we left the house, we felt sorry for the sad look on our dog's face too, soooooooooo that's when we got the other one. At least they have each other now when we're not home.
LOL.....that's so funny driving without a vehicle............heheheheheheh
Put a sock in your DH mouth's and tell him you've got people to talk to.
((((((((((((((gentle hugs to all))))))))))
Must work today.....uuggghhhh

Morning Lursa... so good to hear from you... I've been thinking about TexasRose too. I know she just had her first Chemo on Tuesday... The housework will be there waiting for you sweetie, just put your blinders on...lol Have a blessed day.
-
HI Lursa,
You need to move to the east coast so we can be in the same time zone! I think your 3 hours behind me.
Keep up the good work with the patch! Dream away!
Hello to everyone else.Linda
-
Morning everyone, well it is 13:25 here in the UK as I am typing this bit. Nearly time for our lunch. The sun is shining for a change!
Nice pic Sharon!
Lursa I haven't met my onc yet. I know we have a slightly different system here and my referral has gone through so I am waiting for an appointment, waiting, waiting again. I am too impatient, I seem to be healing quite well from surgery and I just want to get on to the next step. It probably sounds silly, wanting to start chemo, but the sooner I start the sooner it will be finished.
I hope all you ladies have a good day, whatever you are doing.

Blinders on good and tight....'cept I broke down & cleaned the bathroom (loo, for you brits) this morn. Some things are just not an option.
coonie, our dog's name is Odin. Had to give him a big name as he was so tiny when we brought him home. Little did I know what a HUGE person he'd turn out to be! I've seen him scare off german shepheards & larger dogs. He doesn't know he's as short as he is...'cept when it snows. The folks we're staing with have 4 other dogs, so he's not alone when we go but it makes no difference. He still acts as if his heart was broke when we leave him here.
Makraz, I think we're only 2 hrs behind you.
I'm lurking, if not posting. Seems like my rattiling at the keyboard is always bothering someone....Sorry. A little out of sorts this morn but it'll get better. I'm gonna head over to the stop smoking thread.
Love ya'll!
xoxo

I was up at at em early - Filled one trash bag with shredded papers - where do they all come from. Updated my spreadsheet with medical costs and mileage record for income tax deductions. And I got smart and print it out each time I update, just "in case" it gets lost in cyber space.
When we first bought our house, I decided I needed a dog, so off to the pound I went and adopted a mix beagle/terrier. My hub came home from work and saw this black lump of fur and said " fix me a drink ". We always drank martinis, sitting on the couch with fur ball between us. Fur ball tries to lick hub drink, so he got the name "martini" or marti for short.
Good to see you up and about, Lursa -- BUT.... BUT.... take it easy girl friend. Does anyone here use the FlyLady site for house work ideas? It helped me keep sane when I was preparing to move from my house to an apartment. The idea is set the timer for 15 minutes and you can do most anything for "just" 15 minutes. It did not get messy overnight, so it won't get UN messy overnight either.
-
lefty...lol...you're making us look bad...you get the rest of the day off!
-
Good morning ladies! I am gerting a late start this morning - woke up with a headache.
Sharon - what store did you get him at because I want one.
Lursa - LOL over driving without a vehicle.
Lefty - Unbeknowst to most people - paper mates at night and produces more paper.
Jayne - It is so nice to see someone from the UK - I visited London once many years ago and loved it. After my visit I could understand why British women all seem to have lovely skin - they never see the sun and its humid with rain constantly.
TexasRose - How are you doing sweetie?
Arnie - How are you doing - I didn't have to have chemo but my uncle did and we had to drag him to each appointment - he hated it.
Coonie - girlfriend - what's up?
-
LOL, arnie... I was sitting on my butt all the time I was doing this, so I kept my heart rate at a normal level. Don't want to be getting all hot and sweaty.
Unless it rains, around 5 pm I am going to a volunteer picnic for those who helped with the Avon Walk. It is just down the road from my son and dil, so if it rains, guess who is gonna get a visit from me??? I did email them that I would be in the neighborhood and might stop by after the picnic; I don't like drop by company and won't do that to others.
I made myself a pattern for the dammit dolls, and may cut out a few.
-
Was trying to read through all the posts, finally finished, refreshed the page and there I was reading for a good bit more.
So with all this good chat and friendship I'm gonna add a little poppyseed muffins to go with it.
-
kmc, that is ME in the cartoon - glasses and pink robe, but it was very kind of you to add the cute slippers and curlers. Hair is not long enuf for curlers and my slippers are black clogs...
-
Lefty - I snuck by your house and took that picture throiugh the window. I didn't think you would mind!
-
Hate to break the news Lefty but we were just in the neighborhood and wanted to pop in and say hi, brought just a few friends.......
-
How cool is that lefty? I saw those dolls on the "other" thread...
km... hope you get rid of your headache soon... how's our Oliver? Yeah, I don't like it, dread each one...but I'm almost halfway there...
Jayne... I felt the same way...sooner started, sooner over. Hope you get your appointment soon!
I think we all deserve a day off!
-
Is Barbe with you Mom? I thought I saw her in the crowd.
-
Haven't seen her yet but she better not stay out in that sun too long.
-
Oops - I guess you can tell from the picture that I was in London recently!
In case you can't read that small print it says "Crikey cat - the streets aren't paved with gold at all - its chewing gum!
-
mom, you know how it goes when someone drops by unannounced - you are stinky, smelly, bad breath, in the rattiest robe you own and not even a decent mug clean for offering a cup of coffee or tea. We won't mention the laundry scattered over the bathroom floor and globs of petrified toothpaste in the sink...
-
Barbe! Did you say Barbe!
Where????
-
ROFLMAO... lefty, km and mom... ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh that sunburn looks painful!
-
Arnie - that's not a sunburn - its third degree burns! Ouch!
-
lefty to tell you the truth I have worried all my life about the friends who have to have a perfect house to be a friend. Now I know the friends I want and need in my life are the friends who step over the laundry, grab a cup from the sink, wash it out and sit down to spend some time with me. Those are the real friends.
