Mary, that fawn was there to let you know we are always there for you (as well as the big Guy upstairs
)
-
Lursa and Arnie good luck. No housework for me today. I am having some swelling around my drains so I sit here. Wonder if being on the computer will add to my swollen site????
Prayers for all of you today!!
-
Mary I could let you borrow my wig (you just have to feed it twice a day or it gets cranky
)
-
Naw Lovin, the swellings probably because you're not spening Enough time on here.
-
Hi Mom!
Just catching up with the thread.I'll finish reading then post, but just whilst you are there, a warm hellooo from the South West of England coming your way. Hope you are having a good one.
xx Shiny
-
Kimberley, the swelling means the fluid is going to the drain so that's good. Is it puffing up though? Are the drains working? Are you milking them?
-
Hey Shiny! Good to see you. If I'm getting my calculations correct it must be about 8pm there?
-
Mine would feel puffy too lovin and then when I'd milk the drains it would feel better.
-
Dears! Thinking of you all.
Loving mama, hope your drains are behaving, make sure they are draining properly!
Arnie, so sorry about your port situation, but well done with your attitude; Are you 1/2 way now with the chemo? Just keep crossing them off your callendar.
Texas Rose, remember, your hair will grow back and you ARE cute as a button, so enjoy your cool head this summer and INDULGE yourself with lovely scarves, lovely facials and make up and my favorites.. hats! check out the lovely little cotton ones on headcovers.com, cute!
EWB, praying for you and your mom.
Coonie, so glad you get to enjoy all those cute little tiddlywinks "kiddies" at Sunday school. I love kids, and wish I was able to volunteer more at my kids school, just love em.
Macraz, boy, sounds like your have some major works going on in your house.. and you still manage to host a multitude of "sleep overs and the like" can I PLEASE have some of your energy!
Lursa, thinking of you and your upcoming pocedures. Wishing you the best meds and comfiest hospital bed! Sending you lotsa good vibes for your quit smiking challenge! My mom's quit 2 months ago, I never thought she could face that challenge, it's a tuffy so "props to you" for giving it a go in such challenging time. Hope you get lots of help and support!
Barbe, I love the way you wrote "the big guy upstairs" I totally beleive in the "big guy" but don't know anyone who calls him by that term of endearment over here. Must be my " "Canadiannessness" showing itself!
Don't know if it's just flippin "hormones" or pain in my bones and feet or BOTH, but I ended up just bursting out crying in front of school this a.m after someone accidentaly hit my foot, the pain had just worn me out (walk to school week here). I especially felt bad that it happened in front of my kids, the tears just "bursted out of me". Deary me!! Bones are a screaching right now, but I am making sure I am on codeein in the a.m. to avoid a repeat! it is sure not like me!
Mom, I thought you'd quit your job, then I heard you over at a client's house? Did I get that wrong?
Huggs to ALL you fantastic lovely ladies( incl. all the missed names! am not as clever as mom and coonie on that front!). Take care of yourselves! Bless you
-

Hello all. Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm just checking in to see how everyone is doing.
Arnie sorry you are having trouble with your port. I hope your chemo has been OK today and no s/e.
Elaine praying for a B9 result for your Mom.
Lursa thinking about you today and hope all is going well. I guess you won't need knocking up tomorrow morning!
Kimberly definitely no housework for you! I hope you get your drains sorted out.
I haven't been on here much today because I went to see my bs for my post surgery appointment. Next stage will be to meet my oncologist and then start chemo. I'll have to see if I can find a wig like yours Mom2two!
Hugs to all of you.
-
Jayne, you are so cute!
When you say 'knocked up', it's the same for us as if you'd said 'in the club' to your friends. hehehehehhe
-
LOL here "Knocked Up" means you're pregnant! ROTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope Lurse doesn't need that.
-
Big hugs to all you dust bunnies. I'm fixing to unplug puter and pack for NYC. Hope to see you all on the other side:) Sending good vibes to Arnie, Lursa, MaryRose, Elaine, Ruth, Kimberly, any others who are going through treatments. (((((((((((((big hugs and love you all)))))))))))

Lursa we are thinking about you, don't think you will be remembering to be online tonight but bet you are going to be very happy to be on the other side of surgery.
-
Have fun Coonie! We want to hear all about it when you get back so no staying in that hotel room this time. I hear they have fantastic restaurants there so eat lots of great food for us!
-
Jayne sending three new wigs your way!
-
Barbe- What a beautiful sentiment! I love that! I'm pretty fond of "the Big Guy" too!
Kimberly- Sorry about the swelling around the drains. They were the worst part of the surgery experience for me! I hated them!! Hope you are feeling better soon!
Mom- That's the perfect wig!!! Thanks for letting me borrow it...and I promise to keep it well fed!
Shiny- I LOVE reading your posts! They are always such a bright spot!! I am sorry that you are in so much pain. (((hugs)))
Coonie- I am jealous!! NYC!!! I would love to go there sometime. We sailed out of New Jersey last year and our hotel overlooked Manhatten. That is the closest I have gotten. Have fun!
Jayne- Giggling here at the "knocked up" too! I'm thinking that is the last thing on Lursa's mind right now!!
Lursa and Arnie- Hoping all went well today. You are both in my prayers.
My hair is short. Not wild about it at all, but it's going to fall out in a few weeks anyway. I do love my wig and I'm going to order a couple more and hats and scarves. Time to get serious about covering up my head I guess.
(((hugs))) for all who need it.
-
Dust bunnies. I've just finished performance #8 and have another 4 tomorrow, before I hit the road again. I still have voice left -- so your good thoughts have kept me going.

Arnie and Lursa, sending hugs and well wishes your way. No housework for you!! Relax.
Mom, love your wig! LOL!!
Mary, Shinys right, your hair will grow back. You ar beautiful now and you will be when it grows back. HUGS!
Shiny, you seem very busy too. If we lived closer to each other we could carpool or something!
Welcome Janye. We have a few others going through Chemo now. It's nice that we can all support each other.
Deb, love the new avatar!
I've been very busy and haven't had much time of these threads. I really miss you all. My house is still a mess but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm guessing about 3 more days of work and then the whole summer to clean up the mess. The dust from the floors is amazing! I guess I will have to follow my own adviice and open all the windows in the house and let mother nature do the rest.
Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Linda

Brrrr - 44 degrees here, but going up to 78 later. Turn on heat, turn on ac or neither??? No housework today for me - maybe some paperwork after I play bridge with the old ladies. We are all "senior citizens" so there is an abundance of medical talk and comparing aches and pains. One gal is a 15 yr survivor and always makes me smile with her charm and comments. The one who was trying to sell me her sisters book about alternative care, FINALLY has let up on it.
I was weeding thru some old emails and found one hint for flies and spiders - unwrapped mint gum. Will not harm kids or pets. But I wonder if it would attract ants with the sugar?? Guess one could use sugar free gum. Happy cleaning or not cleaning. Nancy
-
Why haven't they invented a self cleaning house yet? What's the hold up?
I am a big champion of spaying or neutering your pets but I say it is about time we start neutering the paper around the house - it is reproducing at an astonishing rate! I thought this was supposed to be the paperless society.
That's my housework rant this morning; otherwise, good morning and happy Wednesday!
-
You made me laugh! I actually have my keyboard holding down a pile of papers! hehehehehe
-
Coonie - I will miss you!
-
Hello everyone. Well I have gotten dd off to school and have just put a pot roast loaded with veggies in the crockpot for dinner. Then I made up a big old batch of chili for lunch. We have had too much take out food lately and I just felt the need for home cooking.
Going to get the car cleaned out at the car wash and then may actually tackle some housework.
Linda my garden is starting to pop up green everywhere. I'm so excited to see how this goes this year. Had to move everything indoors for a couple of days because of the cold snap and alot of the markers telling what everything was got scattered so its going to be my very own surprise garden.
-
Sending out hugs and prayers to all in need!!
Having a ball with all of my kids-for-the-day.
Do I have the best job, ever?
Remind me I said that, when I'm making the 4.5 hour drive home tonight..... we will then leave at dawn tomorrow for DD2's graduation (Masters program) at the U of MD.
Nuts. Crazy nuts. But at least it keeps me from needing to clean anything!
-
Praying for safe travel for you faith. For a time years ago I thought about doing something like you are now. Have always loved being around kids and saw someone who did a program for kids at the library and thought it would be fun to do that full time. Of course there is always a long way between thinking about an idea and actually putting action to it. ......
-
Mary I like your idea of getting your hair cut short before starting chemo. I may do that myself when I get a start date. I didn't have a wig, but then Mom sent me 3 really cute ones! Thanks Mom!
kmccraw423 I had to laugh at neutering the paper around the house. I wondered where it was all coming from. I haven't done anything about it today, although I did do a couple of loads of washing and hang it outside to dry. I was only showing off because I now have enough movement in my arm to allow me to reach the washing line.
Time for a sleep now though. Hugs to all.
-
Jayne laundry is usually one of the big no no's this early, you don't want to pull any of those inside stitches. Let someone else do it for a few weeks. Glad you liked the wigs those, they were kind of cute, weren't they.
-
kmc- rolling on the floor. drumming both feet with laughter. love the "neutering the paper" image. WOW.
hugs to all
dust bunnie unite.
